Chapter 1
In the middle of Manehatten there is a new club. This club has become in its few weeks of existence equal parts famous and infamous, notable and notorious, respectable and reprehensible…well you get the gist. This club is called the Rule 34 and from the start the club was an almost instant hit. Located in the middle of Manehatten’s shipping district, needless to say the club owner has a sense of humor, and surrounded by crates, freights, and the like, the club was a large converted storage warehouse. At least one night out of every week, the club opened its doors from 8 p.m. to whenever the next morning. The location could not be more perfect either, the shipping yard and kept away noise complaints and the proximity of the major cities was perfect. The club was surrounded by Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Phillydelphia, and of course Manehatten, in other words it was perfect. Tonight inside the club as was the case it was packed full, and Spitfire sat off to the side kicked back at a table relaxing. Tonight was going to be amazing, a night to forget about everything, let her mane down and most importantly relax. She and the rest of the Wonderbolts had gotten an entire week off between shows, and as Alpha team captain her first order had been to party. The loud thumping bass, flashing strobes, and abundant drinks had helped to ease her normal tension and now with a smile she was entertaining herself and her friends. At that point she looked over to the bar and noticed one of the mares sitting there, a cyan coated rainbow maned mare to be exact, she looked a little tense and Spitfire was a little tipsy so smiling she walked over to her.
Chapter 2
Rainbow Dash didn’t really do ‘club’ clubs they just really weren’t her style, Dubtrot, raves, and even the occasional metal gigs she loved however, especially where DJ P0N-3 was involved, and rumor was she was supposed to be headlining tonight’s show at this club, a new startup that had gained exponential popularity. “Hey” came a voice that sounded oddly familiar, from to her left. Turning Rainbow Dash noticed a lithe mare with a bright yellow coat, amber colored eyes, and spiked hair that looked like it was on fire, a deep orange highlighted in reds and yellows. “I thought I recognized Rainbow Dash.” She sidled up beside Dash and eyed her. “Um…hi…do I know you?” Rainbow asked, trying to play it cool, but not really enthused by a possible drunk, if not cute mare hitting on her. “Well I for one would hope so, but then again very few do out of uniform, but I’ll tell you what how about you order us something stronger than water and I will meet you over at my table. Also it’s going to be on my tab so no worries make it as strong or preferably stronger as you would like.” Then she sauntered off towards her table. Well there was no arguing free drinks, Dash thought, but then again that voice sounded so familiar, and out of uniform, where did that make any……and that was when Rainbow Dash noticed the departing mares cutie mark, a fireball on top of a lightning bolt, and it clicked. “Hey bartender get me two Sonic Rainbooms Stat!” This night had just gotten 20 percent cooler.
Chapter 3
“Oh my gosh Spitfire I’m, like, so sorry I didn’t recognize you ohmygoshthisisAWESOME!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed depositing the two drinks and sliding in to take a seat at the table. Spitfire took a look at the drink, a mix of all sorts of alcohol in a chromatic array each layer a different color and each balancing on top of one another, and the shot of white blue liquid beside it, and mentally laughed this mare certainly knew some potent drinks. “Good job on the drinks Dash, so what brings you here?” “Heard DJ P0N-3 was going to headline, and I am a bit of a rave girl if you know what I mean. So are you ready to taste the Rainbow?” Spitfire laughed out loud at this and Rainbow followed suit. “Sure thing Dash, after that we’ll see if we can find any of the other feather brains I came here with.” With that they both dropped the cyan shot glass into the rainbow liquid, causing an explosion of color on its way down to the bottom, then down it went in one quick chug the mares almost racing. In the background the crowd started cheering and clopping their hooves, as the DJ finished their set and stepped off, and some interlude music started to play. Shortly after about 5 more Wonderbolts made their way to the table two on their own accord and two very drink colts carrying another, even more drunk colt. This one had a cobalt blue mane and a lighter shade of blue coat. “H…hey…Spi(hic)ire howsh are you?” Soarin it seemed was absolutely plastered, Rainbow though suppressing a giggle. “I’m alright I really haven’t started drinking it seems, but you on the other hand still seem to be just as much of a lightweight as ever.” “Shats ssnot trus” He slurred vehemently and stumbled causing the other two to almost collapse. “ You two make sure he gets back in one piece and no flying when you’re this drunk, and please keep Soarin away from any zoo please.” Spitfire joked as she dismissed the three to their drunken endeavors and inevitable hangover the next day. The other two it seems were just coming to wish her a good evening and seemed to be giving odd looks at each other and blushing, Rainbow though. As they walked off Spitfire looked over and deadpanned “Well at least they are finally open about their love” The two shared a laugh as the ‘secret’ couple exited. “So” Rainbow asked “What is this a day off or something?” “More like a week but hey let’s get on the dance floor it looks like P0N-3 is almost set up.” Sure enough as soon as they had edged into the crowd the lights had dimmed and a set of lights focused in on the signature purple shades, two toned blue hair and snow white fur of the DJ herself. “How’s everypony doing tonight!?” she yelled to the crowd. “My name is DJ P0N-3 and it’s time to get this party started, now get on the floor and dance those flanks off!” With that the music started in and the two mare lost themselves on the dance floor. For an immeasurable amount of time the two athletes just existed in the throng of bodies as the masterful disc diva melded melody and rhythm into a mix that made time seem to work differently both moving and staying still. Finally they broke free of the trance as the DJ put on some more laid back tunes and made it back over to their table where Spitfire promptly ordered more drinks. “She has definitely gotten one hay of a lot better since I last saw her” Dash commented as they drank.” “Yeah, but don’t tell me that’s all you noticed out there Rainbow.” “What do you mean Spitfire?” “Well I’m sure that you noticed there were some F-I-N-E pieces of flank out on the dance floor tonight and we are both good looking mares, so tell me why weren’t you making a move?” Rainbow blushed red at the compliment from her idol and her very…blatant drive to flirt, probably caused by the alcohol, and responded “Haven’t really met the right person and not really looking for that kind of thing right now, I mean too much drama and it only slows me down.” Spitfire smiled coyly at the other mare’s reaction and finished her current drink “I’ll tell you what Rainbow, how about we play ourselves a little game?” At this the cyan Pegasus perked up quickly rose colored eyes acquiring a determined glint, she loved fun things, and a game with one of her idols was a Celestia given dream come true. “Say no more what do I need to beat your flank at?” “Simple, I am hosting a totally awesome after party and we are going to see which one of us can attract the most people.” Rainbow Dash thought about this for a second before nodding working through the challenge “You can count me in!”
Chapter 4 (??? Hours later)
The door to Spitfires top floor room burst open as couple dozen party goes came in carrying a VERY intoxicated Spitfire on their shoulders. As they spread out and dispersed Spitfire looked dazedly around and noticed a distinct lack of a certain cyan mare from earlier. “H…Hey Hash any of you ponysh seen that Dash…you know the rainbow one?” Several shook their heads, or more correctly did what could ‘possibly’ be considered nodding if they were not hammered. Ha, Spitfire thought looks like I win, out loud she said “looks like I am still both the drinking and party…”. The door on the other side of the room suddenly burst in again as a massive flood of at least fifty ponies surged in. High on their shoulders, with what appeared to be a crown made from a mini keg, sat Rainbow Dash. “Heyy I told youz guise tha sis was the right place.” Rainbow Dash then proceeded to be deposited beside Spitfire so that the two stood facing each other a moment past before Rainbow went “So Sp(hic)fire whanna get your jaw off the floor and tell me what I win?” Shaking herself Spitfire could only stutter “how…what…I don’t even.” Rainbow drunkenly smiled and leaned in to whisper in what to her was a conspiratorial voice but to everyone else was close to Canterlot voice, “Apparently they wanted to see what was at the other end of the Rainbow.” “Wow Dash, I…I am…impressed and I believe you got the rest of them…well except for.” At that exact moment the door was thrown open again as silhouetted in its frame was a snow white unicorn with dark purple shades and a two toned mane, DJ P0N-3 had arrived. “Hey I heard there was a sick after-party going on and to meet here, thanks again for the invite Dash!” How it was possible for a pony to wink in sunglasses that covered her eyes, and yet you could still tell the wink happened was anyponys guess. From there the DJ flipped on a disc and House music started pumping out. Spitfire decided at that point that she had been defeated…well at least at this game, never in drinking…that she could remember. “Well Rainbow it looks like you win after all, I will let you know what you win when were sober.” “yesyesyes” Rainbow Dash exclaimed leaping into the air wings flipping out to do a quick victory twirl. This, however, was severely thrown off by the copious amounts of hard alcohol in her system, and the yellow mare beside her. The two collided and flipped end over end twice Spitfire landing on top and the force pushing her muzzle just a bare hair away from the Pegasus’s, causing her to stare into the rose colored irises for a moment. She was utterly enthralled by the color neither red nor pink the colors clashing to meld into something truly engrossing. “Um…sorry Spitfire…heh, I guesses I’m a little tipsy.” They hurriedly disentangled themselves at that point and were met with applause from the now watching crowd and a groan from the DJ who was hoping to see more…or a mare fight one, she wasn’t picky. “I vote we go get some more drinks.” Spitfire exclaimed hastily. “Agreed,” said Rainbow as they dashed off to the bar.
Chapter 5
Daylight had come well and truly to Equestria and it seemed to shine on one hotel in particular, and particularly on one room. On the top floor room that spanned almost the entire floor laid at least 50 ponies sprawled out over every odd and end that they could collapse on. From the bathtub rose a very bleary white unicorn, purple glasses slightly askew, rubbing her mane. “That was some after party” she mumbled to herself walking out of the bathroom and into the suite. “Holy Celestia, Luna, and Discord for good measure” the unicorn swore looking over all of the passed out partygoers, then looking up she said “I don’t even want to know” as she noticed the EARTH pony on the ceiling fan. “Well guys this was definitely some party but this pony’s gotta jet.” With that she grabbed her bags and proceeded to walk out the door. Over the next hour others slowly started to awaken and slowly stumbled out of the suite until there were only two mares left in a half full hot tub a small fortress of alcohol bottles around the sides and ground. Rainbow Dash was almost lounging, while Spitfire was curled up on her chest. Spitfire was familiar with the pain in her head from waking up from a night of WAY to much alcohol, but to Rainbow it felt as if Equestria’s biggest bass drum band had decided that this morning would be the perfect opportunity to take up new residence inside of her head. The first thing that Rainbow noticed as she started to come to consciousness was the fact that she was in water, with something on her chest. Opening her eyes, and immediately shutting them to regret making that decision in the first place, she felt whatever it was on her chest move. Opening her eyes again Rainbow Dash took in full stock of the situation all at once, the hot tub, all of the alcohol and Spitfire curled up on her chest. At this notice the Pegasus froze, shock and full realization hitting in an instant as Spitfire nuzzled slightly and blearily opened her eyes mumbling “morning sleepy head.” Suddenly Spitfire realized that she was curled up against Rainbow Dash…in a hot tub and both of them stared at each other for one long moment before they both let out a shocked yell Spitfire backing over to the opposite side of the hot tub, Rainbow Dash tripping over the edge and falling to the ground with a crash and the sound of several bottles rolling away.
Chapter 6
After the initial shock the two pegasai found themselves perched on the balcony. “Well I have to give it to you Dash, you not only kept up with me, but you won our little game as well.” “Yeah, but I don’t think I am going to drink again for a week”, ‘or a month’ she thought. Spitfire laughed and said “heh, I don’t blame you, so would you like to know what I came up with as your prize?” Rainbow Dash perked up at this, she loved winning, even more than she loved being awesome! “yesyesyes…I mean sure” she said blushing slightly at her fan-girl outburst. “How about me and you get together morning after next and do some stunt flying then? Maybe grab some chow after.” Rainbow Dash could not believe her ears, her idol, Spitfire had just totally said she was going to fly with her! Unable to help herself the young mare flung herself into the air fist pumping the sky as she chanted “ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh.” Spitfire smiled and said “I take that as a yes? Alright I will meet you in the Ponyville town square.” “You got it boss!” Rainbow said and waved goodbye as she shot off to share the good news with friends. Spitfire watched her fly off with a small smile and said softly to herself “I can’t wait.”

Well everypony here it is, my first ever fanfic to offer, hopefully it’s alright, hopefully somepony will like it. I have never really done this before so I’m not sure how to feel besides hopeful. Any feedback on the story, errors that I missed, improvements on prose, form, or style, or anything else is more than welcome. Also, this will not be my only story I have several I am busy drafting. Also depending on how well Fire Starter is received I have a storyboard for it to be a possible trilogy, but I can keep it as a one shot so readers you decide! I don’t want to be too long winded though so thanks again for reading guys!-Cory486
