I flinch as the sudden sound wakes me and I whimper. I open my eyes to see, from my crib, that the night-side lamp was on the floor. And beside it is the limp form of my mother. Her magenta coat is stained red as the blood starts to pool around her. I whine for her.
-Crack-
I jerk my head in the direction of the sound, just as my father collapses onto the floor beside my mother, and see a masked pony with dark cloths on, a black mane and tail to match, with a gun in his hoof. He is shaking. "I'm so sorry...." he says before he puts the gun to his head. I cry out.
-Crack-
I close my eyes just before he pulls the trigger. There is a thud. I keep my eyes closed, ignoring the sound, and I cry.
I black out...
=10 years later=
I jolt awake and jump up huffing and sweating. Damn it... I think. Its the same one again.. I sit there as my breathing steady's as my heart slows from the nightmare. I try to think about what the dream was about but its already gone. I sigh. "Might as well start the day..." I whisper to myself.
I jump from my bed in a huff and head twords the bathroom. I turn on the shower and step in letting my mane hang in my face as the water calms me farther. I grab the shampoo and look at the bottle. There is a mare on the bottle rubbing at her mane as the bubbles from the shampoo flote up to the name, witch is in cursive, Royal Revere! And under it: Enjoy the feeling of a spring brease threw your mane! I sigh. Damn-it mom I told you how much I hate this! I smile knowing that she was only trying to spite me, knowing that she did love me, no matter my falts. I snicker as I remember the time I broke all her china with a simple dice-charge of my horn. Well I did say sorry. I think. Then I sigh again. Damn being thirteen sucks. I finish my shower and go over to the sink and smile. I bring out the toothbrush and paste and brush my teeth.
As I leave the bathroom I raze my nose to the air as I smell the familiar smell of Jade's homemade pancakes. My nose wrinkles a bit. "Shit..." I say out loud, only to cover my mouth quickly as I look around. I drop my hoof and let out a breath in relief. I'm in the clear! Ye- I get cut of in my mental cheer as I get tackled from my right. I laugh as I feel Joel try and pin me down....Only for me to pin him. "HA! I win again Joy!" I get off him. He grunts in distane. "Dang it.... I'm four years older than you! How can you pin me?!?" I snicker. "Well for one I'm stronger, two I'm bigger, and three I'm a girl and we all know how you feel about hitting girls." He sighs. "Right...." I get off him and he stands. "So is Jade cooking again?" I say. He wrinkles his nose and nods. "Where did she get the Idea that she could cook?" He shrugs. I sigh. "Might as well go see what the damage is before mom gets mad..." He nods and leaves with me following behind.
