Chapters On a regular rainy day most shops would close since nopony would want to go there. Ponies would seek the comforts of their homes to avoid getting too wet. Pegasi would be mantaning the clouds in order to keep it under control. Families would play with each other to provide comfort and warmth. The lonely ponies would be drinking the night away hoping to forget about their life. Yet there was one pony who was not doing any of these things, in fact she wasn't even inside. Her name was Rainbow Dash.
It was peculiar to see such a lively pony such as herself all alone out in the rain. At a regular time like this she would be having fun with her five friends, possibly enjoying a sleepover. In some cases her recklessness would kick in and she would be flying in the rain. Yet all that she was doing was lying on a cloud, crying. Despite her brash attitude she had a fragile mind and could easily be discouraged. But today was not an ordinary day.
In fact today was supposed to be the best day of her life, because this was the day when she was supposed to get accepted into the Wonderbolts. She had aced her exam and passed the flight test with flying colours, it seemed like she was destined to make the team. From a filly in an group home in Cloudsdale, to a Flight School dropout, to a confused pony with amnesia, to earning the Element of Loyalty, she was living the dream. But there is a reason why we call them dreams.
That day when Derpy dropped off her mail she could hardly contain her happiness. She quickly began searching for that familiar blue letter. After much searching she found it and quickly began reading. Her smile which she had be wearing proudly earlier quickly became a frown. Tears had already started to come down her face and muzzle. They had rejected her.
Since that time she had been avoiding anypony who came near her, or as much as waved. To the citizens of Ponyville it became apparent of Rainbows lamet. Rumors spread like wildfire to vast to be controled. Rainbow Dash couldn't take any more embarresment and secluded herself from the rest of town. Rainbow eventually cried herself to sleep on her cloud not being even aware of the rain.
Soon another pony walked into view, its hooves making tracks in the dirt roads. He had a cream fur that was mostly covered by a thick, black trench coat and a wide brimmed hat covering his mane. He walked by shop windows and mysteriously there was no reflection. He slowly looked up at the cloud that Rainbow was sleeping on revealing his blood red eyes. "How could they waste such talent", he smirked.
He had heard stories about her amazing feats. She was the only living pony to be able to pull off a Sonic Rainboom. "She would make a great addition to my team", he said darkly. Suddenly the rain stopped giving the mysterious pony the opening he needed. Just like that he was gone.

Rainbow soon stirred herself awake minutes after the rain stopped. Her eyes were now bloodshot from her crying and her cheeks slightly swollen, and now she was soaking wet. "Can this day get any better", she moaned sarcasticly. She got up slowly and began to stretch out her wings. Her trademark rainbow mane hung loosely to the side of her face.
"Show yourself, I'm not scared of you", Rainbow shouted back. She firmly placed her hooves deep into the cloud in order to hold her position.
"Then why are you telling me to show myself", the voice asked. "Only if you were truely scared would you be telling me that", he said as he began to cackle wildly. He could already tell that his victim was absoulutely terrified. She was hyperventilating, her heart rate was up, and she began to slightly shiver. "But don't worry, you'll be scared soon enough", he said wildly.
All of a sudden the stallion flew out of one of the stray clouds and lunged at Rainbow. Despite her quick reflexes she was unable to dodge and was tackled by him. She struggled to gain the upper hoof when suddenly he opened his mouth revealing a pair of fangs heading for her neck. Out of desperation she punched him with a right hook and immediatly took off.
She began to go as fast as her wings could possibly carry her. Multiple questions entered her mind but all that she was focused on right now was to get herself safe. She then began to hear a slight whistling sound behind her and was suddenly caught from behind. The two pegasi began tumbling back to earth with a loud smash into a tree. As the dust disapated it became clear who won.
The cream stallion stood on top of his latest victim with a proud grin on his face. He smiled darkly as said a prayer to Luna before biting down on Rainbow's neck. Blood instantly flowed into his mouth giving him a full stomach and pleasure. The same could not be said for Rainbow.
She was writhing around in pain as her life fluids came coming out of her neck. Once again tears began swelling up in her eyes as she realized what was going to happen. As she closed her eyes she said one final prayer to both Princesses.
Thank you Princess for all that you have given me and my friends. Thank you for letting me preform for your entertainment and my friends. Thank you for letting me become a hero as I always wanted to be. Thank you for everything you helped me accomplish in my tragic short life. Finally, thank you for letting me have the best friends in the world and if you can hear me tell them that I will miss them.
She breathed on last time for what she thought to be the end of her life.

"Spike", Twilight yelled at her number one assistant. She had been reading a book since the rain had started and she had asked Spike to tell her when it stopped, but instead he fell asleep.
"What Twi, can't you see that I'm sleeping", Spike said rudely.Twilight sighed. She had no time for this, she just needed so-
She never got to finish her thought when her house all of a sudden shook violently. Books that were neatly sorted began to fall down as Twilight was knocked off her hooves. She got herself up and began to run to the door. "Spike clean up the books while I check what happened", she comanded. She heard the baby dragon groan at his task which caused her to chuckle a little bit.
She slowly walked her way to the other side of her home. "Whoever did this would pay for the damages" she muttered to herself. She then turned the corner to find a familiar pegasus pony laid out at the side of her home. "Rainbow I told you not-", she stopped herself dead in her tracks.
Her friend was in a pool of her own blood and her mane matted against her head. Her feathers were stuck together by her own blood. Tears came from her lifeless face mixing with her blood. Now there was only one thing to do.
"HELP"
Two hours had passed since Rainbow Dash found out that she was a vampire. Fate had once again threw another curveball at her. She had been rejected by the Wonderbolts for no reason, and now had lost her precious wings only to be replaced by evil bat wings. Since that time she had covered herself up so her friends would not find out about her predictament. Luna had already promised her that she would not tell for her saftey of her friends, and herself.
Yet there was still one thing that was lingering in Rainbow's mind, why would she want to go away. Luna had told her that by midnight she should leave town without even saying goodbye. Her whole existence seemed like it was falling to pieces with nothing to help it get better.
She didn't really want to leave her friends behind after they had all thought they had lost her forever. Yet she was even more scared about what might happen if she didn't leave. Would she be able to hide her new disability from the town's ever prying eyes? Could she hide her new wings which clearly stood out from the crowd? Would she be able to control her new thirst for blood?
Even then she could tell she was getting thirsty and by now it was starting to get unbearable. She knew that any moment she might lose control of herself and attack a pony, or worse kill the pony. She placed her hooves against her temples trying to get the thought of killing a pony out of her head. Tears began swelling in her eyes when her doctor walked into the door.
"Hello Ms.Dash, I have to say you are quite durible, we all thought you were dead", the doctor said smiling while writing on his clipboard.
"Yes and please don't remind me", she requested trying and failing to come off nice. Her tone of voice shocked the doctor slightly.
"So I see you are a bit agitated but I expect nothing a less of a pony who was on her death bed a couple hours ago", the doctor responded.
"Yeah like I didn't know already", Rainbow muttered under her breath. The doctor began to ask typical question that Rainbow began to think he wrote them down before hoof. Not only that he was quite annoying and smug about everything.
Kill him
"What was that, I thought I heard a voice", Rainbow interupted suddenly.
The doctor sighed and replied, "Rainbow there is no voice, now please calm down".
Kill him, and unleash me
No she couldn't give into the voice, she had stay strong. She noticed however that she was staring at him intently.
Unleah me Rainbow
Drool was now coming from her mouth as the hypnotic voice spoke to her, enticing her to attack the doctor.
Unleash me
She couldn't take it anymore she had to do it. She was just about to pounce when she was brought back to reality by his voice.
"Are you okay", he asked sincerly looking back at her with the same kind of intesity.
Rainbow suddenly began to hyperventilate as he realized what she was about to do him if he hadn't spoke up. "Get out!", she screamed.
"Excuse me", he replied.
"I said GET OUT", Rainbow screamed with such intensity that it nearly knocked the doctor over. After that he raced out of her room with lighning speed. Rainbow bent over and began to cry into her hooves. She needed to keep her friends safe.

"I can't belive she's still alive, I mean she was never dead, but woo whoo", Fluttershy yelled the best she could despite it barely being over a whisper.
"Yes, I can't belive it either, but it does seem suscpicious a bit to me", Twilight reponded.
"How so, that's if you don't mind me asking", Fluttershy asked.
"Fluttershy you didn't see her untill the hospital, at my house she looked like she was already dead. Also the Princess kicking us out of the room in the middle of a converstion, and also the way she came out all crying. Now she wants to stay in Ponyville for the night. I don't know about you, but all of this eems like it's connected", Twilight responded.
"Oh I see, and that reminds me can you help me feed the animals. Right now I'm so occupied with one injured beaver that I think I could need and extra hoof", Fluttershy asked.
"Of course, I can see what I do", Twilight responded smiling. "I just hope that Luna and Spike will get along".

"Those are my snacks!", Spike yelled holding his precious Pony Crackers tightly.
Luna who was standing on top of a bookcase with a singed tail already clearly fed up. "So be it horrible beast", Luna spat.
"Oh it is on", Spike said before he suddenly tackled Luna off the bookcase.

Night had falled over Equestria despite Luna never really setting it. Rainbow was still couped up in the hospital with her thirst only growing. Cold sweat was beating down her muzzle as her face wore an uncomfortable look. She needed to get out of there before she loses control.
She slowly lifted herself out of bed making sure not to make to much noise. She slowly walked over to the window before opening it letting in a blast of freash air. She took a deep breath of fresh air which reminded her after rainfall. She shook her blanket of revealing her new bat wings which had just replaced her beloved cyan wings. After a few teat flaps she made her way out to the ledge before taking gliding off.
Surprisingly with her new wings she was able to fly even better that her previous wings. She didn't know if it her being a vampire had any effect in it, she decided to enjoy it why she could. This is what she lived for, the wind in her mane, the air rushing past her ears. She wasn't even paying attetion were she was going untill she was face to face with The Everfree Forest. But instead of going into the forest the dipped down heading for an all to familiar cottage.
Time for us to feed
"No, I would not kill Fluttershy", she yelled at the voice.
Not her, the animals
Even though she was relieved that it didn't want to kill Fluttershy but her animals would be just as worst, but it seemed she had no say in it as she now couldn't control her body. She landed right next to a pack of bunnies who looked at her curiously. She tried her best to control herself but to no avail.
Feed me
She then attacked the animals.

"I can't thank you enough for your help Twilght", Fluttershy thanked Twilght.
"The pleasure is all mine", Twilight responded gleefully as she levitated a duster and continued to clean around the room.
There was suddenly a screech from an animal coming from the outside. Twilight saw Fluttershy race out there to help the injured animal as Twilight followed in suit. "Fluttershy, wait for me", she yelled to her friend.
Something was wrong here.

In the matter of seconds Rainbow had devoured five bunnies leaving only two left. Blood stained her muzzle and most of her coat along with her two new fangs gleaming in the moonlight. The two bunnies that remained huddled up as Rainbow began sizing them up for bite. All of a sudden a small squee came from her left.
She turned her head to face her friend Fluttershy already shivering with fear. "Rai-rain bow?", she squeed.
Despite her mind protest she walked toward her friend with a menacing smile plastered across her face. "Heellooo frieennnd", she said before another morsel of food came into her view.

When Twilight had finally reached Fluttershy, her friend seemed like she was terrified. What animal could get her so scared besides dragons? She tried to move her friend but she seemed to be scared stiff.
Her train of thought was interuppted by a frightenly familiar voice, "Oh, Twilight has also come to the massacre".
She slowly turned her head to find a Rainbow Dash covered head to hoof in blood. Her wings had turned in to large bat wings. Even more terrifing she had large fangs that seemed to glow in the moonlight. She began to breath heavily as she saw Rainbow size her up before charging. In desperation she picked up one of Fluttershy's flower pots and hit Rainbow over the her head, cracking the pot. She sighed in relief as she had just hit her just in time. She levitated her up with her up with her magic before setting Rainbow on her back.
She turned to a still scared Fluttershy before saying, "Don't tell anypony about what happened here".

Minutes later Twilight reached her humble tree home but it soon became clear something wasn't right. That was confirmed when she opened the door to find Princess Luna having a tug of war over a box of crackers with Spike.
"We can explain", Spike said while trying to put on his best innocent silence.
"Twilight you have finally arived. I was getting worried that you wouldn't come", Luna stated.
"I see you were worried but now we have bigger problems", Twilight said while entering with Rainbow throught the door. Luna gasped in shock when she saw Rainbow come in knocked out. "I think you know why she was out of the hospital Princess Luna".
"I thought I was keeping you all safe by telling her to leave", Luna stammered.
"So you did cause all of this", Twilight screamed in anger. "Now Fluttershy has some dead animals and we both could have been injured or killed by her. I don't know what is going here but it is becoming to much for me", she continued on the brink of tears.
"I know none of us could have saved her from this cruel fate but I can-", Luna was then interuppted by Twilight.
"What has she become", Twilght asked sadly.
"A vampire", Luna replied solemnly.
Twilight couldn't take it anymore as she broke down crying into her hooves. Luna lifted a wing over Twilight's back to comfort her. "Don't worry, I'll help her so she could return to her normal life but you have to trust me", Luna said. Twilight looked up and nodded slowly. Luna then turned her attetion to Spike who had been quiet during the coversation and she asked,"Can you please write a letter to Tia to explain that I'll be stayin here fro quite a while". And with that Spike hurried to write the letter.

Author's Notes
I had a great time writing this chapter as well as the entire story. As of right now the plot has been finalized and would be roughly twelve chapters. Also the reason why I'm not using the term Vampony is because I wanted too so don't keep talking about.
There was nothing to comfort them as Twilight and her friends surronded Rainbow's death bed. No amount of bits in the world could keep them from crying. Just a few minutes ago one of the nurses came in to take Rainbow off of life support. They tried and pleaded to convince her otherwise but she said, "Do you want her in pain, or end her suffering". That was the toughest decsion they would ever have to make. Eventually they chose to end her suffering.
"Ah, can't belive this has just happend", Applejack said sadly. She was one of Rainbow's closest friends and most bitter rivals. Applejack's trademark stenson was covering her eyes in a attempt to keep herself from crying. It was futile as everypony in the room knew she was crying as much as they were.
"We would miss her darling", Rarity replied attepting to comfort the crest fallen earth pony. Despite them not being close Rarity still loved her like she was family.
Crying in the corner by herself was Fluttershy. Fluttershy had taken Rainbow's death the hardest as she knew her the longest. She would tell stories to Twilight about their adventures during Flight School and when they met again in Ponyville. Rainbow would've scolded her if she saw Fluttershy like this.
Pinkie Pie was uncharateristicly being quiet. Her bright pinks had darkend and her mane was now straight. Only she knows what she is thinking right now.
Twilight who first saw her friend was sitting by herself to the right of Rainbow. Tears were swelling up in her eyes as she begged for forgivnes. "I'm so sorry for not helping you in time", Twilight repeated over and over again. They had already tried to convince Twilight that it wasn't her fault to no avail so they thought it was better for her to get it all out there. Her tears stained the vibrant white that was in a deep contrast to the mood of the room. Minutes later somepony knocked on the door to tell them something.
"Somepony wants to speak to you five", the nurse said calmly as she held the door open. The five lazily trudged out the door into the hallway not expecting who might want to see them.
"PRINCESS LUNA", the five mares gasped. The group scrambled to bow so they could show some respect to the Lunar Godess.
"No need for you five to bow and by the way I am terribly sorry for your loss", Luna said. It was soon clear that what she had said struck a cord not yet healed.
"It's alright Princess, we're okay", Twilight said while trying to hide her sadness to no avail. "So what brings you here Princess"
"It is my job to do the grusome task of examining the body", Luna stated with a lack of dignity. At the comment Rarity swooned slightly but didn't faint. Luna sighed as she attepted to push pass them but was blocked by Applejack.
"If you don't mind me by asking, why are you examining her body", she asked.
"Because she is one of the Elements of Harmony. The only pegasus to pull off a Sonic Rainboom, That is why", Luna said sternly.
They both sighed as Applejack let her by. The five began to watch her walk towards Rainbow's room before a nurse bursted out of their screaming. "She's supposed to be dead! She's supposed to be dead!"
The five mares raced to Rainbow's room with shock on their faces. They joined Luna as they looked on at Rainbow's bed. Instead of they dead pegasus from earlier, there was now a living, breathing pony with a dumbfound look on her face.
"Why are you all staring at me", Rainbow asked.
This time Rarity fainted.

After a couple of minutes of gasping and the nurse apoligizing for her freak out they could now ask some questions.
"How did you survive? I saw you covered in your own blood. I...I thought you were dead", Twilight asked tearfully.
"I really don't know Twi. I mean I thought I was going to die too, but I'm here now", Rainbow replied with a grin.
Luna was observing the whole situation like it was a movie. She had already spoke with the doctor who was very confused about what was transpirering in front of him. He said that he couldn't belive that she was still alive. Luna herself was also very surprised with the turn of events. When she had came she was still wondering what she would tell Tia, but thankfully that conversation would never happen.
There has to be something amiss
It was true, nopony could survive with that much blood loss, especially from the neck. It all seemed to suspicious for Luna. There was something else wrong too, her eyes which were normally magenta, have suddenly turned a blood red. The door opened once more revealing a exhausted doctor. She turned and asked, "What caused Rainbow's wounds"
The doctor was clearly shocked to say the least. "Um..yes er your majesty, it w-was from som-e sort of dagger", he managed to studder.
All of a sudden everything seemed to conect like a puzzle, her discoloured eyes, her wounds on her neck, the blood loss, and her survival. "Everypony out now", Luna screamed at the top of her lungs. Despite knocking over a few ponies everypony including Rainbow's friends shuffeled there way out of the room. Finally she was alone with the mare of the hour, Rainbow Dash.
"Next time could you be a little more quiet", she requested.
Luna just rolled her eyes and asked, "Rainbow, do you know what happend to you?"
"Yeah, I think I was attacked by some crazy pony", she said sacasticly.
Luna frowned slightly at her subject's sacasm. "Was there anything strange about him", Luna asked.
Rainbow thought for a moment before saying, "It might have just been the rain, but a swear he had a pair a fangs". Luna gasped slightly at this, confusing Rainbow slightly. "Is there something wrong Princess"
Luna began to walk towards the front of the bed and looked straight in to her eyes. "Rainbow you have to listen to me because I would not repeat it. At midnight I want you to escape this hospital and go as far away from here as possible."
"What, why would I want to escape", Rainbow asked staring at Luna.
"Just listen, if you don't something bad is going to happen to you and your friends. You are becoming something you thought never existed."
Now Rainbow was starting to get scared. "What do you mean by that", she asked.
"You're becoming....a vampire", Luna breathed out.
There was first a look of confusion, disbelief, and then anger. "What, that's impossible, upsurd, crazy. Why would you do this", she shouted back.
Luna sighed slightly before walking to Rainbow's left. Her horn began to glow as she levitated a mirror to her face. She began to walk back to where she was originally before sighing once more. From Rainbow's vantage point she cloud see Princess Luna's image in the mirror. "Wait, how could she see her reflection when the back of it is facing her." she thought.
Luna flipped the mirror so that it now faced her. Everything seemed the same, the room, the bed, she could even see the things on her desk clearly. But there was something missing, herself.
"That's not possible, that's not possible", Rainbow stuttered. She looked a Luna seemed sad at what she had just did.
Luna then levitated her blankets off of her revealing even more. Her once beutiful wings, were now evilish bat wings. Rainbow began to hyperventilate as she continued to look at her new wings. She wanted to scream so badly but something was stopping her, and all she could do was stare.
"I'm so sorry Rainbow, I'm truely sorry", Luna whispered.
