Greed can drive you to do reckless things, but being in a situation more than once means you're well accustomed to what'll happen. In the middle of a blizzard, high atop a mountain, a daring and self-serving earth pony will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. To him, consequences don't matter, especially not with his rather unique talent.
