A Hidden Gift

Equestria is considered a land of order, as well as ponyville. Everything is supposed to have a purpose. Anything that is out of place at the slightest measure must be eliminated. There are, and will always be three types of ponies. You have your Pegasus, their job is to control the weather within Equestra. Most pegasi attend flight school while still in their early age of development. Then there are the Unicorns. The unicorns don't have a real major purpose in Ponyville, they are able to use magic, in ponyville there are only two known unicorns Twilight and Rarity, though each one uses their magic for different purposes. Finally there is the Earth Ponies, they are the most common, taking up of merely 85% of the population in Ponyville. Each pony knows what their job is, and are expected to do it. AppleJack attends the apple orchards, pinkie pie is in charge of the parties in ponyville, rainbow dash is head in weather control, rarity makes clothing ect.

Carrot Top wasn't like them. She was what you would call a misfit. She was yet a simple earth pony. Living her everyday life in ponyville, with an unfortunate gift.

"Carrot! wake up sleepy head!"  Applebloom squeaked as she jump up and down Carrot's bed, "We have so much to do today!"

"Apple not now, it's to- to" Carrot let out a long yawn before she could finish her sentence. Usually when Apple stated "we have so much to do" she mostly means to play. Carrot Top's only a month and a half older than her. Ever since she had gotten her cutie mark Apple has payed much more attention to her. Mostly in desperate need get her to spill out how to get one for her own. Which which is pretty much impossible since a pony has to discover it themselves.

After so much of Apples prancing Carrot finally got the strength to get up out of bed. She was still pretty tired. Hardly able to keep her eyes open. as if there was a anvil attached to both her eyelids.

"Great your awake!" Applebloom yelled in an excited tone, "Aren't you quite happy today?" Carrot Top said.

"Of couse I'm happy, i think I know how to get my cutie mark!" Apple said with a gleefull smile. "That's great apple, but before we go I just need to do one small thing" Carrot said look out of the window. She noticed that the flowers in her garden had died and lost their color.

"Why don't you go try an get your cutie mark while I'll get ready, It'll only be a minute or two. I'll meet you by the pond"  Carrot Top asked. "Okay" Applebloom said with a hint of sadness, while she slowly walked out the door.

Once Applebloom was gone Carrot Top ran towards her garden to her dying flowers. She look back and forth, looking to see if anyone was nearby, no one was. She focused her sight onto the dead flowers. They began to change. They were turning from a dark brown, to a light red. Then they began to lift upwards from their once drooping position. They were alive once more. Carrot Top bent her head over towards the flowers to get a smell of the aroma only to be interrupted by Applebloom, who was watching her the entire time.

"YOU'RE MAGIC!"

This was bad, very bad. Earth ponies are not supposed to have magic. If anyone else find out about this, their will be serious consequences.

"Applebloom? Can you keep a secret?" Carrot Top said in a guilty tone.
