//-------------------------------------------------------// Hurt -by Scarecrow1992- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Hurt //-------------------------------------------------------// Hurt Hurt, that is what he was feeling right now knowing nothing would ever be the same. “I hate you, you stupid un-appreciative hateful bitch!” that was the last thing he heard before his mother and sister parted ways, he felt as though he could do nothing to prevent this un-reasonable argument so he just sat in the corner heartbroken and lost in thought, the thought that nothing would ever be the same. It started a couple weeks ago James was in his room reading his favorite Daring do book when he heard his mother and sister arguing. It was the first big argument he had heard from the two ever, he was scared to scared to muster the courage to try and do anything to stop them, luckily it had died down before anything serious had happened, or so he had thought. Every day since then had been nonstop fighting, he even had to run out of the front room because his sister and mother had started throwing things at each other. It had gotten so bad that he cried himself to sleep at night, he even tried to let out stress by playing heart filled music on his guitar, it helped a little but nothing could truly mend his broken heart. Then that day had come, the day where his mother and sister separated for good. He had no idea what to make of it his mind had gone blank and his heart shattered it almost felt as though there was nothing but heart dust floating around in his chest, he just sat there crying, staring at the door that his sister had left through his mother had not noticed him as she stampeded into the kitchen returning to her dirty dishes, “my life is never going to be the same” that was the thought that crossed his mind he managed to walk up the stairs to the bedrooms. Walking past his room he stopped at the second door, the door that had lead into his sisters room. , at first glance it had seemed empty then he noticed something there was a black case on the floor, his sisters violin case he walked over to it and stared at the black leather of it, after a few minutes of this he had decided to open it to his surprise the violin was still in it. Now normally he wouldn’t touch a thing of his sisters but his mind was clouded by sadness and hurt so he really wasn’t thinking straight. As he had picked up the violin he noticed something odd there was a note underneath it, it was a poem his sister had written expressing her deepest feelings of happiness as he read the poem his eyes started to water it was a poem about him she had loved him very dearly after all he was the one who always protected her and got her into music. He had never played the violin but that didn’t stop him from trying after reading the poem his sister had written about him he needed to play his feelings for the world to know so he played, and boy did it feel good he played out ever emotion he was feeling, sadness, hurt, anger, happiness, joy, he was both happy and sad as he played happy for the fact that his sisters happiest memories had been with him, and sad that she was gone. Down stairs his mother heard his playing, a tear came to her eye it was the most beautiful thing she had ever heard she slowly walked up the stairs and stopped at the room in which he was playing in. When he had finished he heard a faint sobbing behind him it was his mother of course he turned his head to see she was sitting on the hallway floor hooves covering her eyes. She had realized how much his sister meant to him and she realized how much she had meant to her she was her child after all. A knock on the door drew both their attention, they both went to answer it, it was the police an un-easy look on their face “Ma’am.” he had said as he showed us a picture ”Is this your daughter?” “Y-yes officer it is” she said with a confused look on her face. The officer then proceeded to tell us that he life on this world has come to an end. “I’m sorry to tell you this but she was hit by a stray wagon, there is nothing we could do. I’m terribly sorry.” James’s heart sank he was absolutely devastated, his mother dropped to her knees tears running down her face, “Why, why did I let her go!” she had yelled at the top of her lungs. “My baby she’s gone forever!” James just stood there staring at the ground trying to hold back his tears, he had felt like he needed to stay strong for both him and his mother. It’s the day of the funeral now all of James’s family and friends had come he was trying to hold back his tears but to no avail. “Would anyone like to share a few words?” asked the man giving the eulogy, after a few minutes of silence James got up and walked to the podium. “H-hi everypony, uhm as all of you know I’m the brother of the beautiful mare that has left our world.” He paused to regain his composure. “ I don’t know what to say really, just that she was my sister and I loved her dearly.” Then he remembered something important pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. “This here is a poem, a poem that she had written that tells of the happiest times of her life.” He then proceeded to read the poem, when he had finished everypony in the crowd was bawling their eyes out including him. After the funeral everyone went home, everyone but him. He stayed at her grave his house wasn’t that far from the graveyard just a few streets down so his mother was alright with it. “Hey sis thank you.” He had said, he then proceeded to pull out the violin he had taken from her room. “I hope you don’t mind but I kind of took your violin.” He then started to play it he played his heart out in every note, in ever swipe of the bow across the strings his soul could be heard. As he finished a smile spread across his face he knew his sister had been listening and he knew she would always love him. “ Thanks for listening sis.”
