For the ponies, by the ponies
It feels like I've forgotten something...
Yes. 6:58pm. Two more minutes and I'll be out of here... the sun goddess thought to herself.
Seven was the standard time for Princess Celestia to retire to her chambers for the night. The only exception was, of course, any sort of dire emergency. Or if that one pegasus broke into the royal muffin bakery again. That's pretty bad too.
"-which brings me to point number fifty-six of the royal boating club reform list; restrictions on net-fishing" the president of the boating club blathered on.
Ugh.
When you wait for things the clock ticks so slow. Celestia shifted uncomfortably in her seat, now looking directly at the clock as opposed to the royal.
Tick...tick...tick...
...and then...
"Seven o'clock!" Celestia sprang from her seat triumphantly.
The pony stared at her with wide eyes, before she smiled sheepishly, "Er, I mean, seven o'clock, I have an appointment with the...er...ambassador from Afarakistan"
He sighed and removed his glasses, "With all due respect, your majesty...there is no country named Afarakistan, is there?"
"No, there isn't..." she stared at her hooves foalishly.
Without another word, he rolled his eyes, closed his briefcase, and walked toward the door with a bemused look fixed on his face.
Celestia waited for him to exit the room...just a few more steps...open the door...go through the door...aaand...close the door.
She let out a sigh of relief and kicked off each of her sandals roughly, nearly taking off one of her guard's heads in doing so, "It's finally over!"
After an enraptured moment of thanking the gods- er, herself, she spoke again, "Prepare a bath for me, I won't be long"
"Right away, Ma'am!" one of the guards replied stiffly before galloping out.
It had been a rough day for her. She was just a mare, after all, even if she was arguably the most powerful creature in the land. Times can be pretty tough when an entire country depends on your leadership.
She wasted no time in climbing the large number of steps to reach the top of the tallest tower. She wanted to soak a nice, clean bath for a few centuries...but she only had a few hours. Pity.
