Queen Chrysalis is trapping us to stay with her despite her plans failing. Too bad. I am slipping out under the cover of night. I am quietly running through the forest, knowing the others will be behind me soon enough; the Queen is mentally connected to all of us and would already know I'm gone.

And then they are all here, every changeling not out getting emotions are either right behind me, running through the trees with me, or flying above the foliage. I race faster, not as fit as the runners behind me, as evidence of them slowly closing in on me. Just in time, I burst into a clearing, lifting straight into the sky, my natural domain.

I dodge as a changeling dives at me, barrel-rolling out of the way. I flup upwards as a bolt flies past me, firing my own point-blank at the source before finishing my flip and flying onwards. I dodge around all their attempts to get me, weaving circles around them. No one can take me down in the air! I slip out of charges and shots, smacking or zapping the assailants in return.

I send so many falling to the ground, but there are hundreds from the hive, and I am wearing a bit thin already. But they are just as unfit as me, and they can't fly for as long as I, even while I stunt-fly. I continue my counter-hits until a chill runs down my spine as a familiar voice rings in both my ears and my mind.

"It's all over!" I turn back to see the Queen herself flying behind me, eyes staring widely into mine- No! Too late!

I plunge into my mind as she assaults it directly. OBEY! NO! OBEY! NO MORE! I AM THE QUEEN! NOT MINE! I WILL NOT LET YOU ESCAPE! She peals out of my mind and I snap back to reality, only seconds having passed as my scared state easily repelled Chrysalis. I push myself to go as fast as I can, but to no avail; I am nothing compared to her giant form.

"He cannot escape!" I dodge the incoming fire, but that just allows her to catch up faster.

I twist backwards, diving past Chrysalis as I realize I'm playing the wrong game; if I'm going to escape, she must fall to my tricky flying. After flying past her, I double back, unleashing many harmless bolts at her that she blocks with her own. I zip past her, our horns scraping. She screams as he magic hadn't had the time to calm. I grin.

Then smack into a wall of changelings that surround me, grabbing onto me with hooves and teeth, letting us plummet to the ground, our ball twisting slowly and randomly as we all fight, them to keep me trapped, I to escape.

I screech as we plummet, knowing this is where I live or die....
