Cutie HIgh School

The First Day

"Finally, now everyone else will stop treating us like babies!" Rainbow Dash rushed by on her roller blades, excited to meet all the other cool people in her class. Twilight Sparkle rolled her eyes and giggled a bit. Yeah, I suppose so. She thought to herself happily. All Twilight was interested in was seeing all the teachers and learning everything that was being offered.

"I'm with you there, sister!" Pinkie Pie, dressed in a light pink skirt, white tights and a dark pink shirt, jumped along side Rainbow Dash. They had been looking forward to pranking some people like they did in the weekends. The small sound of footsteps came from behind Twilight Sparkle, who had in her hand someone else's hand. The girl was Fluttershy. What about all my critter friends? Will they be okay? All these thoughts rushed through her head as she was dragged to the large building that awaited them.

"Come on, Fluttershy. It's not that scary. No one's going to make fun of you, they'll be nice. Besides, I suppose there won't be too many people." Twilight tried her best to comfort her pink haired friend. It made her feel a little better as they all walked into the stone building ahead. Many other students were walking into the building, most of them the same age as the group of 6. "Hey...she looks familiar." Twilight pointed out a blonde haired girl wearing a grey dress with bubbles on it. She noticed Twilight looking at her eyes so covered them with her hands and ran inside. "Maybe we can meet her later."

"C'mon, y'all! Stop stadin' there and admirin' the scenery!" Applejack was running side by side with Rainbow Dash who was still on wheels. Rarity was walking next to Fluttershy, attempting not to get the dirt on her from the two others who were running.

"My, my! Look at all those people. Be sure to be as polite as possible, Fluttershy dear." Polite? Fluttershy thought excitedly to herself. As long as they're polite to me i'm sure to be polite to them! Surprisingly enough saying that there were lots of people didn't make Fluttershy feel uneasy. She already knew some of the other people so it wouldn't be a problem, right?

"Of course i'll be polite to the others, Rarity. You know me." Silently the two giggled as Twilight let go of Fluttershy's hand. "She seems in a hurry. What do you think she's doing?" Twilight had noticed the library and had ran over to the window to see all that it had to offer. She began drooling accidentally so wiped her mouth and the window with a tissue she conveniently had in her bag that hung over her shoulder.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack reached the door and entered in when Rainbow Dash had taken off her roller blades. She carefully put them in her bag and then brought out a pair of trainers, putting them on being careful not to get the lace in the side of the denim. 5 minutes after the rest walked through the doors and gazed at what they saw in front of them. This wasn't a normal high school. "This is probably why it's called 'Cutie' High." Twilight sounded slightly shocked, though the rest of them guessed it was because of what laid in front of them.

It wasn't a building with wooden floors inside, but it was filled with plant life and ponds...the walls on the inside were all glass, which was different from the outside. The outside appearance had been stone bricks and a metal roof. When Pinkie Pie looked upwards she saw that there were several floors to the school. The walls were made of glass too, but the floor was different. It was made of glass with small plant pots in the corner of each flight of stairs. "What is this place..." Twilight whispered to herself happily. There were ponds on the bottom floor and students with their shoes off with their feet in the water.

"This is just...awesome!" Rainbow Dash ran over to a ladder which lead to a small patch of cloud. That was where she would relax and study. Hesitantly she stepped onto the cloud with her eyes shut, though she merely stood there. When her foot was placed upon the cloud there was a cloud above it in letters that formed 'Rainbow Dash.'

"I'll be looking for our classroom-" Twilight interrupted herself when she realised that the upstairs were just more of this paradise. "Never mind!" Excited, Rarity walked over to a crystal pond, took her shoes off and diped her feet in the water. Rainbow Dash lay on her back and looked into the sky above. She could barely make it out because of all the glass in front but there was enough revealed that she could relax. Unexpectedly a small transparent screen appeared above her head.

"Morning, Miss. Rainbow Dash. Don't worry, i'm real. Not just a computer. Now tell me, what lesson would you like today?" A voice came from the transparent screen as a transparent book and pen appeared at her side.

"Is there a subject I can learn some tricks on my roller blades on? It is my passion to be the greatest athlete one day, and I suppose you're going to help me with that. School is about helping the students get their dream job, right?" Rainbow Dash rolled onto her belly, hoping that the screen with the teacher's appearance on it would move to where her eyes were, which it did.

"I'm sure we have a book that could help you with that, Rainbow Dash. And yes, you are...partially right about the dream job. We don't help you earn a job, as you can probably tell this isn't a normal school. What we do is we have decided you and some other students deserve better. What we do is each student has their own teacher, like I am yours, and we learn about your personality and you in general so you can reach your destiny. When you reach it we will give you a life mark somewhere on your body, you can decide where, and it will have a special symbol to resemble what your special talent is. Sound simple enough to you?" The woman giggled a little, as did Rainbow Dash, though the only different was the rainbow haired girl sounded slightly confused.

"Yeah, that's simple enough. No wonder this school is so big! I'm not really into learning, but as I said I want to be an athlete, and if you can help me with that then I am in paradise right now." Rainbow Dash sounded overly excited after she had thought over what her teacher had said. "So, what you should I refer to you as?"

"Oh, you can call me Blaze Heart. I had the desire to be an athlete too, but then I thought I should teach other people what I know about it. I have a proposal for you after the lesson, Rainbow. Now, let me send you the book about tricks. Let me see...there it is!" A window popped up on the screen with information and pictures. "You can scroll down by touching the screen, by the way." Blaze Heart smiled at Rainbow Dash as she smiled back in thanks.

Happily, Pinkie Pie skipped over to a velvet picnic table and made herself comfortable. The screen appeared in front of Pinkie Pie as it had done to Rainbow Dash. "Ooo, shiny! It looks like one of those things from those sci-fi books Twilight reads!"

"Oh hi, Pinkie Pie!" A voice came from Pinkie's screen. The girl sounded excited, though her voice sounded like she was only 16. "I looked at your performance reviews from last year and I see you like party's and baking! That's probably why the head master chose me as your teacher. They always do that. Choose a teacher who's personality matches the students so they get along! Anyway, sorry. I talk a lot. I'm guessing you want to make a cake or something?" The girl had lilac coloured hair and was wearing a dress with puffed up sleeves. She had put a beautiful pink bow in her long, straight hair.

"Can you read minds or something? That's exactly what I want to do!" A balloon appeared on the side of the velvet table with the name 'Pinkie Pie' on it. "Don't worry about talking too much! I love talking! We'll get along great!" The teacher reached out her hand for a virtual high five from Pinkie, so she took it and grinned.

"So, Pinkie Pie, what do you want to bake? Cake, cookies, cupcakes, or something completely different? I've got a little twist for you!" The teacher grinned at Pinkie Pie in friendly way just so that she wouldn't feel uneasy about a challenge.

"Well, I was wondering if maybe I could do chocolate swiss rolls filled with cream! Mmm, yummy." Pinkie Pie licked her lips just at the thought of stuffing her mouth with some chocolate swiss roll. She wouldn't even care if it was virtual or not because she assumed they would have done some more crazy technical thing that allowed you to taste the food.

Oh yes, swiss roll! Always my favourite. Let me find my recipe file and put the instructions for you...there it is." The same thing happened to Pinkie Pie that happened to Rainbow Dash; the information and the pictures showed up on the screen. The only difference was that a transparent oven appeared on the velvet table, so did a mixing bowl, a whisk, measuring cups, some coco powder and all the other ingredients to make chocolate swiss rolls. "The twist is that you are going to take the recipe and add some ingredients of your own. I'll put up another screen that allows you to bring in the extra ingredients when you're ready. Also, you can touch the screen to scroll down on the recipe page. Another thing to remember is that even though everything i've given you for this is virtual doesn't mean you can't burn the food or yourself, just to make sure that when you go in to real baking you know what you're doing. Don't be afraid to ask me for some help. I'll be here watching that you're doing and we can talk about each other." Pinkie Pie looked at the ingredients list and measured everything out in the measuring cups.

Rarity signed in relief that her aching feet were now getting better from the warm water they were submerged in. The screen appeared for Rarity as it had for the other two, surprising her slightly. "Why, this school is odd. I'm sure Sweetie Belle would enjoy it."

"Oh, silly Rarity! You're suppost to stand on the water, dear." A voice came from the screen. Then the teacher's face appeared. She looked like a very pleasant lady who liked fashion and making other people pleased. "Go on, don't be scared. Most students are often scared they're going to fall into the water if they try it." Magically the water began to lift up into the shape of a table and a chair. The pond expanded, making the entire room expand, though the other students didn't feel a thing. Hesitantly Rarity tiptoed onto the water, which held her weight and allowed her to stand on it. Relieved, she lay the heals of both her feet onto the warm water below her.

"Well this is strange. How do you know my name, anyhow? This school is very unusual, though it's very pleasant...like a paradise." The large space behind Rarity's chair went down into itself and formed her name; 'Rarity.' "I do hope i'm not going to get lectured about science. My true dream is to be a fashion designer...the greatest of all. Not to glote or anything."

"Why yes, this school is quite unusual. Though it's because we thought you and your friends deserve better. I'm sure you're going to ask me about all the nature and park themed areas. You see, every student gets their own place to work, slightly like an office. Well, by slightly I mean very. And yes, I know your pasion is designing. I read your performance review and we seem to have been put together because of the same desire. I'll teach you everything I know about fashion, every technique and everything that's in style. I'm your own personal teacher, Rarity." The blonde haired lady clearly had a good sense in fashion, as did Rarity. They were wearing the same kind of dress just with different accessories. "Now tell me, dress or skirt. Which one would you like to make for today's lesson?"

Rarity gasped in excitement. She couldn't decide! "I suppose since I am wearing a dress i'll make a skirt that I can wear tomorrow if it's done by then. I'm sure that would be okay." Rarity spoke in her more formal voice to sound more polite. At that very moment a transparent, purple sewing machine appeared on the desk, along with some needles, thread and several rolls of white fabric.

"Don't worry about the fabric choices." Another screen appeared on the right of her. "Press your finger against any of these colours and one of your rolls of fabric will turn that colour. Also, when you're done with making the dress we'll use our special program to make it wearable in real life so that it won't be virtual anymore."

The tinkle of Twilight's shoes on the glass floor satisfied her as she ran up the stairs to find a room filled with books. After minutes of looking she found it. Twilight opened the door in an excited manner, and what she saw was amazing. She could see outside through the huge glass windows, and there were too many bookshelves to even count. The amount of students there was amazing, and she knew she would fit right in. Excited, Twilight ran over to a vacant desk right next to the window so she could see outside whenever she wanted."My dream house..." She whispered to herself.

Instead of the screen appearing in the air the screen appeared on the window slightly below her eye level so that she could still see outside. "Ah, Twilight Sparkle, I presume. Just so you know my name is Shine Spirit. You can call me Shine." Twilight's eyes met directly with the woman's eyes. The blue haired lady was wearing purple square glasses and her hair was in a fish tail braid. Her smile was friendly, and that made Twilight feel even more at home. "I'm sure you don't want to talk and you want to get right down to your study, or would you like to ask some questions first?" A book hovered in the air next to Twilight, and the cover read 'Twilight Sparkle' in order for people to know that it was her private study area.

"Well, i'd like to ask one question involving my friends. I was wondering if we will all be able to visit each other at break times? I noticed when I was going up the stairs over here there was a swimming pool. Is that open for hang outs?" Twilight sounded desperate though filled with the excitement at the same time. She wouldn't want to be parted from her friends, but she was sure, considering how nice the school was, that her teacher would tell her that they would be able to see each other.

"Of course, Twilight. Though you have to book the swimming pool for a day, you don't have to pay though, that's a plus. Now that i've answered your question, would you like to get on with the lesson?" Twilight nodded eagerly at Shine Spirit. "Right then. According to your performance review in a science lesson you asked why magic doesn't exist. Though you'll find it does exist. In fact, it has a lot to do with legends and concentration. So, would you prefer to study science or magic? Remember, this is a very important decision. Depending on which one you choose you'll study it for the rest of the time at this school...and probably the rest of your school years." Twilight's eyes lit up as soon as Shine Spirit said 'You can study magic.' She had always wanted to somehow use magic, but she didn't know how because of course she didn't have a horn to perform the spells with. According to her brother magic was all illusions, though she didn't believe it. Now she knew it was real and she could prove Shining Armour wrong.

"Magic! All the way!" A wall appeared around Twilight to block out all the noise. There was no door but Shine Spirit told her the wall would be taken away after the lesson was finished. Not only did a wall appear, but a book hovered in front of her, along with a pen. The book wasn't virtual like the sewing machine and the oven, it was a physical object just like Rainbow Dash's as well, but the pen was also real.

"Look at this image and write down exactly what you think it represents." At that moment a colourful image appeared on the screen as Twilight began to take notes with full concentration.

Applejack leaned against an apple tree that was in the middle of a small orchard. The screen appeared in front of Applejack as it had done with the other 4. "What on earth?" She picked up her hat that lay next to her and put it on, neatly putting her hair over her shoulder. The woman on the screen had dark brown hair and was wearing blue overalls. "Oh, so this is the thing that i've seen everyone havin'!"

"Hi there, Applejack! No questions i'm sure, so let's get down to business. Would you like to buck apples OR you can do farming. I'm experienced in both so don't worry. Oh! Also, my name's Zap Fruit." Zap seemed to want Applejack to start instantly. Someone doesn't have any patience... Applejack rolled her eyes and said she wanted to do apple bucking. "Okay, that sounds good. Now, this may be a little difficult but it's the special way to shake apples off the trees. What you need to do is back away a little until you're a fair distance away from that tree you're leaning against." And so Applejack backed away from the tree and did as Zap Fruit said. "This is where it gets tricky. I know from your performance review that you're quite skilled in gymnastics, so this may be slightly easy. What you need to do is run up to the tree, put your foot on it and push yourself backwards. While you're doing this you can't stop moving until you're on the ground. An easy trick to doing this is putting both your feet on the tree and do a backwards flip, though to do this well you have to be quite high up when running on the bark of the tree. Give it a go, won't you? Don't be worried about getting hurt."

Applejack grinned and pulled the brim of her hat down slightly. "Backflip, ey? Well, y'all should know i'm pretty good when it comes to fancy things like that!" The tree now had 'Applejack' engraved on it the second before she started running towards the tree. Skill-fully, she put both her feet on the bark of the tree, grabbed a top branch and threw herself over. Half of the apples on the tree fell into a bucket, though the success left Applejack with cuts on her hands, though Zap Fruit was right. It wasn't painful.

"Woah! First try and you've already got it. I guess your athletic skills helps a lot. Keep on trying and you'll be perfect. Then you can go onto the next level of your...harvesting studies." Zap Fruit sounded impressed, so Applejack continued to knock the apples off the trees.

Fluttershy had remember that she was told to sit in the meadow until break time so that's what she did. Admiring the scenery she gasped when she saw a baby bunny. "Why, hello there, little bunny!" The bunny hopped over to her and sat on her yellow skirt. Fluttershy blushed a little. She always liked animals but she never knew bunny's could like her so much, though maybe it was that particular bunny. "Are you lost?" The bunny shook its head as to say no as Fluttershy picked him up so that she could stand up. "Do you want to play a game?" It nodded and began to run around. The bunny waved its hand at Fluttershy as to say 'Come on, let's play chase.' Fluttershy didn't realise it but the screen was in the place where she had been sitting, though since she was busy playing chase with her new bunny friend she didn't notice it.

After 20 minutes of chase Fluttershy took off her shoes and walked over to the public pond. She took her socks off and dipped her feet in the water, hoping one of her friends would come along to see her because it was break time. 5 minutes later Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie came over to the pond and took their shoes off as well, dipping their feet in the warm water. "Wow, my teacher's awesome! Blaze Heart doesn't talk about boring stuff like science, she teaches me how to do all these cool tricks on my wheels. What have you been doing, Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow Dash questioned her hyper, pink haired friend.

"I cooked up some Chocolate Swiss Roll. My teacher told me I was to put my own spin on the recipe I was given. Did I tell you my picnic table is made of velvet? It is so comfy!" Pinkie Pie splashed her feet in the water from excitement of what the next lesson was. She knew at some point she would be told about what ingredient does what. "What about your Fluttershy?"

"I...I played chase with a bunny. It was quite fun, i'll be honest. I called the bunny Angel, he's quite nice and a quick hopper! You all understand how much I like animals, right?"

"Of course we do, Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie said simultaneously.

"Hey, guys!" Twilight came running with Rarity and Applejack by her side. "I booked us a swimming pool for break time. They're lending us swim suits, c'mon!" Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy left their shoes by the pond and ran behind the other three.
