The Composite Six
Prologue: A new quest
Load Full StoryCelestia awoke near the base of a triangular mountain. The princess frowned due to the feeling that she was being watched... not by somepony... but by some beast... something words can not begin to describe. She had the subliminal feeling that she was dreaming, as she did not feel the rain or hear the clash of thunder from the storm going on at the same time. The mountain had an odd inscription on it: "DON'T FIGHT IT, YOU WANT TO GIVE IN TO ME!"
Celestia had no clue what was going on at this point. All she knew was that something bad was going to happen, and soon! Suddenly, the dream shifted to another image. The Elements of Harmony were glowing in the dark of a cavern, the weilders staring at the crowns. The princess didn't know what this could mean until...
The ground exploded and the Elements were devoured in a surge of rock and dirt. The mane six were as shocked as the princess. Suddenly, the mane six collasped to the ground, dead. Celestia got covered with black dust and a voice said,"I will prevail..."
Celestia cried out and awoke on the floor of her royal bedroom with a crash. She had fallen out of bed, but got up. She was in nothing but her nightgown (adjusted for her), and her crown was beside her bed. A guard rushed into the room.
"Are you alright, princess?" asked the guard.
Celestia nodded and replied,"Fine. Now go. I want to think."
The guard gulped before galloping out of the room.
Celestia swore she still felt the black dirt clinging to her, so she went to the royal baths. She stripped off her gown and began the water. She looked at her naked self in the mirror and wondered,"What do my dreams mean? Are they... a vision?"
She shook her head and muttered,"I'll find out!" She stomped her bare hoof as the water reached the ideal height. She looked at her nude self again, blushed, and continued to think.
Celestia got in the water after thinking for a moment and scrubbed her self, lifting the washcloth with her magic and rubbing it in the soap before scrubbing herself with the soapy cloth. Celestia, after bathing, stood up, got out, dried off, and glanced at her nightgown. It was covered with black dirt...
At about sunrise the next morning, Celestia awoke, not minding that she was nude. Celestia did a few modeling poses in front of the mirror before she made sure everything was free of all dirt before getting dressed and rising the sun. She could feel something staring at her...

Stephen awoke, at sunrise, and yawned in his house that he had built after he had moved into Ponyville. Stephen was a tall alicorn (yes, alicorn) stallion, with chocolate fur and a silver mane. Stephen put on his tuxedo and top hat before going downstairs to play video games.
As he went into his basement, he remembered the day that he got his cutie mark: an N64 controller. He was able to beat some teenage bullies in a video game contest as a colt, and he was still a gaming legend in Equestria.
Of course, the rainbow had helped...
Stephen was able to squeeze in 200 Pokemon Wi-Fi battles (winning all of them) before the mail arrived. The mail delivery pony, Derpy Hooves, handed Stephen a handful of letters once Stephen made it out of his house. Stephen thanked the mare and checked the letters out when he got back inside.
Nothing too interesting was to be found in the pile, just some magazine ads and such. Stuff anypony could send anywhere, for the most part. He shook his head at the mail until he got to the very last letter: a pink envelope with the royal family seal on it. Stephen gulped as he read the contents:
"Dear Stephen the alicorn,
I request your presence. I have a dire matter to discuss with you. Do not be late. I must see you at 3:30 in the afternoon, sharp. If you do not turn up at that exact time, you will be tracked down and put on trial for neglecting your duties to me, Celestia. I look forward to our meeting. Let's just say, I can't wait to see you. Until then...
PRINCESS CELESTIA"
Stephen thought, What is it now? Why is the word "see" bolded? Can't she get over me taking from her the title of the best gamer in Equestria? Well, better get there at 3:30, because Angry Celestia is Murderous Celestia
Stephen trudged to Twilight's library in order to get some answers to these questions, and took the letter along. If anybody knew her Highness, it would be the star student of the princess! Pinkie Pie bounced along Stephen and asked,"Why so glum, chimmy chum?"
Stephen found Pinkie to be odd and hyperactive, and rarely cared for her presence when she was near him. The mare kept prodding him with questions, however, so Stephen finally snapped halfway to the library.
"The princess wants to see me," Stephen explained,"and I don't know why! So I'm heading to Twilight so that I may learn what the Princess may want. Happy now? Are you gonna quit bugging me?"
Pinkie replied,"Oh, well, good luck!" The pink pony bounced away as Stephen approached the library. Stephen banged on the doors of the library, and a few moments later Spike answered.
"If you're looking for Twilight," Spike said without waiting for the question,"She's in the back."
Stephen thanked the dragon with a small ruby and proceeded into the back room. He opened the wooden door to find Twilight reading a Daring Doo novel.
Stephen trotted over to the librarian and cleared his throat loudly. Twilight put down the book, faced Stephen, and asked with a smile,"May I help you, Steve?" (The two knew each other from the Foals Honors Society because both had excellent grades in magic school)
Stephen asked,"Celestia wants to see me. Do you know what she could want?"
Twilight replied,"Hand me the letter."
Stephen was caught off guard and muttered,"How'd she know?" as he took out the letter.
Twilight commented,"I know the princess always sends a letter if she wants to see somepony. She won't just announce it out of the blue. Now, allow me uno momento, por favor."
Stephen flexxed his wings as Twilight read over the letter. When Twilight finished, she sighed.
Stephen waited a moment before asking,"What's up?" An uneasy feeling flowed through the room.
Twilight replied,"I... am at a loss for knowledge. I have to draw a blank here. You'll just have to see, I'm afraid."
Stephen hesitated before taking the letter back. Twilight cried,"I'm so sorry!" and tears flowed down her cheeks.
Stephen said,"It isn't your fault. There, there." He comforted Twilight. The tears stopped rolling as he nuzzled the mare to calm her down.
...
At 3:25 PM, Stephen set out for the castle. He took off in front of his house before doing a few loops and vanishing into the clouds. All Stephen could think in the clouds was, What is going to happen to me?
