Here is my first attempt at a MLP:FiM fanfic. All characters pertaining to this story will be original characters belonging to me. MLP: FiM does not belong to me. Nor would I ever claim credit for it. But, I'm sure y'all know that. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Everypony Needs Somepony In the Great land of Equestria, which was ruled by the two Princesses Celestia and Luna, there was a small town just east of Ponyville, and just south of Fillydelphia, called Horseshoe Valley. It was a quiet, quaint little place filled with all sorts of different ponies, of various talents and ages. Much like the other towns, Horseshoe Valley was famous for something. Ponyville was know for it's apple orchard, and being the home of Twilight Sparkle. Cloudsdale was known for it's production of clouds, and being home of all the pegasi. Well, this particular town was known for making most, if not all, of the horseshoes for the populace of Ponyland. More importantly, however, it's the home one particular pony, named Snow Angel. Snow Angel was an earth pony, who interestingly enough, came from a family of pegasi. She had white hair, and her mane, and tail were ebony black with pink streaks through-out. She had light blue – almost white- eyes. And her cutie-mark consisted of three black snowflakes of three different sizes. Her special talent was making beautiful, and oft-times complicated snow sculptures. She also had an older brother called Blizzard. He was a pegasus pony, and had gray hair. His mane stood up in spikes, and along with his tail, was black with a solitary purple stripe. His cutie-mark was a single purple and white snowflake. His special talent was being able to make it snow, by gathering clouds together. She had moved away from Cloudsdale for various reasons. One in particular being, to get away from being teased by the other pegasi for not having wings. And she would have gone by herself, but at the insistence of her parents, Snow Drift (her mom) and Avalanche (her dad), Blizzard, moved with her. To “keep an eye on her”, they said. Angel had been, of course, nervous. Sure, they had house waiting for them (thanks to her Dad's sister, Aunt Powder). And yes, they had both visited the town when they were younger. But moving away from home was always tough. Fortunately, once Angel and Blizzard had moved to Horseshoe Valley, they had both made friends rather quickly. Blizzard had formed a quick friendship with the local horseshoe maker, an earth stallion by the name of Lucky Joe. And with the local florist, and Joe's younger cousin, an earth filly called Lemon Bolt. Joe was a tan pony, and his mane and tail were green. He always wore a brown cowboy hat, and once in a while, a brown vest. His cutie-mark was a green four-leaf clover. His talent (obviously) was making, and selling, horseshoes. Lemon Bolt's mane was black, and she wore it in a (ahem) ponytail, and her tail was black with a yellow stripe. Her cutie-mark was a pink heart with a diagonal lightening bolt. An her talent was growing, and arranging flowers. Angel had met up with her old friends Starshimmer and Cuddleheart. They had all met on Angel's first visit to her aunts house, and had become quick friends. Starshimmer was a light-blue unicorn, with green eyes, an orange mane, and a tail to match. Her cutie-mark consisted of three stars (yellow, orange, and red), and her talent (aside from the standard telekinesis) is granting wishes. But only one per pony. Cuddleheart was a cobalt earth pony. She had light green eyes, a yellow and purple mane, and a yellow tail. Her cutie-mark was a blue cloud, with a yellow sun partly hidden behind it. Her special talent was cheering ponies up when they were feeling sad, lonely, or upset. And, it was a particularly sunny day that our story begins. Everypony was outside enjoying the warm spring day. Lucky Joe was in his forge, filling orders. Lemon Bolt was outside her store selling bouquets to passing ponies. Cuddleheart was playing in the meadow, with no particular goal in mind. Blizzard was laying lazily on a small cloud. And Starshimmer was trying to get a stubborn Snow Angel out of bed. “C'mon, Angel.” Starshimmer insisted, pulling on the bottom edge of Snow Angel's blanket. “It's already noon. Get up.” “Don't wanna.” Angel whined, her voice muffled by said blanket, and pulling just a hard in the opposite direction. “Winter-Wrap up was yesterday, and I'm still tired.” “And whose fault is that?” Starshimmer asked in a stern, but gentle, voice. She stopped pulling the blanket, as Angel popped her eyes over the edge. “Not mine.” She defended herself. And then ducked her head under her pillow. Starshimmer rolled her eyes at her friend. “It was so your fault. Nopony forced you to make a scaled-down version of Canterlot out of snow. You did that all by yourself.” “Can't her you.” Angel said in a singsong voice, still from under her pillow. “Sleeping peacefully.” Starshimmer glared at the stubborn filly. “Oh? Is that so?” An evil grin came to her face. “How can that be when all I hear is the sound of a pony hitting her bedroom floor?” “What?” Angel asked in shock. “Don't even -” Starshimmer used her magic to lift Angel (blanket and all) off her bed, and not so gently, drop her two feet to the floor. “Ouch.” Angel winced as she laid sprawled-out on the floor. “There.” Starshimmer grinned, crossing her front left leg, over her right. “That wasn't so hard, now was it?” “Easy for you to say...” Angel grumbled as she stood up. “That hurt.” Starshimmer clicked her tongue in disappointment. “Angel. Your mane is a mess...” She used her magic again to lift Angel's mane-brush from her vanity. Then, ever-so gently, she used it on her friend’s messy mane. Angel blushed slightly at this sign of affection. “There.” Starshimmer said, with an air of approval. “Your mane looks much nicer.” She returned the brush to the dresser. “Thanks.” Angel said shyly. She then cleared her throat, and set a slight frown on her face “So, what's the big rush? You got something planned today?” “Yes. As a matter of fact, I do.” Starshimmer answered, smiling brightly. “What is it?” Angel asked, suspiciously. “And why does it involve me getting out of bed?” “It's a secret, Snow.” Star winked. “Now, let's get going.” The chipper pony turned around and made her way out of Angel's room. Angel reluctantly followed. “Blurgh.” Angel whined, hanging her head. “I hate it when you won't tell me something. Why do you always insist on do this to me?” “Because...” Star answered simply, as she used her magic to open the front door of the house, “It's always fun to see what reaction I get from you.” The two filly's trotted side by side, as they made their way down the front path of the house, and on to the road. Angel followed Starshimmer as she guided them towards the direction of the town, and more specifically, the main square where all the shops were. “Why are we heading towards town?” Angel asked, looking sideways at her friend. Starshimmer smiled knowingly. “Nu-uh. No telling. I already said it was a surprise.” “Ugh.” Angel groaned, a she hung her head again. “You're no fun...” “I'm plenty fun, thank you very much.” Starshimmer defended herself, still smiling. “You just don't like my surprises for some reason.” “I like your surprises...” Angel argued back. “I just like them more once they're over. It's the waiting I can't stand. I just wish...” Starshimmer gasped and quickly covered Angel's mouth. “Oh no you don't. No wishing. One per pony, remember?” Angel nodded her head. Satisfied, Starshimmer removed her hoof. “Good. And besides, I want you to wish for something good.” “Right. Sorry. Slip of the tongue.” Angel apologized. And the two continued on their way. As they walked through the square Angel noticed that they were heading towards “The Flower Emporium”. Which was Lemon Bolt's store. “We're getting flowers?” “Yes.” Starshimmer answered simply. See then turned her attention to Lemon Bolt. “Good afternoon, Lemon Bolt. Such a lovely day, isn't it?” Lemon Bolt beamed at the two fillies. “Good day to you, Starshimmer. Good day Snow Angel.” the yellow pony greeted with a southern-belle accent. “I see you manged to drag Snow Angel out of bed after all.” “Hiya, Lemon.” Angel greeted in kind. “And it was more of a drop and thud, than an actual dragging.” “Well, I wouldn't have had to, if you just got up by yourself in the first place.” Starshimmer reasoned, looking at her friend. Angel shot her a look. “Don't pretend you didn't enjoy it.” Starshimmer raised her right hoof in shock. “I did not.” Angel faced her fully and adopted a defensive stance. “Did to.” Starshimmer mirrored Angel's stance, so now, their foreheads were butted against each other. “Did not.” “Did to.” “Did not.” “Did to.” “I did not.” Starshimmer glared at her friend. Poor Lemon Bolt was looking at the two girls nervously. “... did.” Angel smirked. Starshimmer stood up straight and shook her head. “I should learn never to take your arguments seriously.” “Yeah, well...” Angel chuckled and then stuck her tongue out playfully. “Anyways...” Starshimmer sighed, as she turned her attention back to Lemon Bolt. “Is it ready?” “Oh yes.” Lemon nodded her ecclesiastically. “I finished the arrangement just this morning. Would you like it now?” “Yes please.” Starshimmer said politely. “Finished what?” Angel asked, her curiosity piqued. Her gaze swiveled back and forth between Starshimmer a Lemon Bolt. “What arrangement?” “Never you mind.” Starshimmer answered smiling. Lemon Bolt reached behind her flower stand, and brought out a bouquet warped up in purple paper in her mouth. Starshimmer used her magic to take it from her. “Thank you very much, Lemon Bolt.” Starshimmer smiled, as she began to walk away, with Angel in tow. “See you later.” Lemon Bolt smiled at the two retreating ponies. “Buh-bye girls. Enjoy.” After a short distance, Angel decided to speak up. “If those flowers are for me, why have them wrapped up? And why not just give 'em to me now?” “They're not for you, Silly.” Starshimmer said, as she continued walking, while Angel stopped in her tracks hard enough for her hooves to make a “squeal” noise. “What?” She gasped. “But... you always buy me flowers.” “I Know I do.” Starshimmer said as she walked. Angel trotted quickly to catch up. “So who are those flowers for?” Angel asked suspiciously. “Someone else, of course.” The unicorn answered. Angel stopped suddenly again. Starshimmer looked over her shoulder with a slight frown. “You'll wear your shoes out if you keep doing that.” “Why are you buying flowers for somepony else?” Angel asked in a slightly hurt tone. She didn't move to catch up this time. With a sigh, Starshimmer turned around and walked back to Angel. “What's the matter?” Angel looked worried, and diverted her gaze to left. “You... you aren't...” She trailed off shyly, blushing slightly. “Aren't what?” Starshimmer asked with a titter. Angel pawed the ground nervously. “You aren't breaking up with me, are you?” Starshimmer dropped the flowers in shock. “Why in Equestria would ever I do that?” “Well...” Angel said, still looking down at the ground and pawing it. “You're being all secretive, you won't tell me what's going on, and now your buying flowers for somepony else...” “Snow Angel. Look at me.” Starshimmer said kindly, using her front right hoof to tilt Angel's face up. They locked eyes. “You know yo make me happy, right?” “Yeah...” “And you know that I care for you a lot, right?” Starshimmer asked “Pretty much since the day we first met?” “Yeah...” “Then why would I do something so foolish, like break up with you?” She asked with a bright smile, and put her hoof back on the ground “That doesn't even make sense.” “Sorry. I just... well, you know how I am sometimes.” Angel said with a weak smile. “Yeah, I know.” Starshimmer pressed her forehead against Angel's, and then noses. “Don't worry, okay?” “Kay...” Angel whispered. “Now come on.” Starshimmer said, pulling back and using her magic to pick up the flowers. “We still have lots to do.” “Okay.” Angel said, as the two began walking again. They walked for a bit until them came upon Angel's Aunt Powder's jewelry store “PONYS”. “What are we-” Angel began to ask, but Starshimmer silenced her with a 'ssh'. They walked through the open door and were immediately greeted by Powder. “Hello girls.” Powder smiled at the two friends. “What brings you here today?” “Hey Aunt Powder.” Angel answered. “And I really don't know. Ask Star.” Powder turned her attention to the pony in question. “Starshimmer? What's going on?” Starshimmer placed the flowers on the counter between them, and then used her powers to remove the paper. A bouquet of white 'Snow Princess' lilies were exposed. “Oh my.” Powder gasped happily. “Those are my favorite. And they're so rare. Wherever did you get them?” “Lemon Bolt and Blizzard found a group of them just past Everfree forest.” Starshimmer explained. “And I thought I would give you something rare, in trade for something rare.” “Oh? And what is that, my dear?” Powder asked kindly. “Well. If it's alright with you, would Snow Angel be able to come live with me?” Starshimmer asked with confidence. “That is, at my place?” Angel gasped. “That's one big surprise, you Goof!” She then tackled Starshimmer to the floor with a happy squeal. “Does this mean you want to?” Starshimmer asked Angel, as the latter pinned her down. “What do you think?” Angel asked as she pressed her nose to Starshimmer's nose. “Ahem.” Powder cleared her throat loudly. Both girls stood up quickly, and composed themselves. “Well, I never thought this day would come...” Angel and Starshimmer held their breath nervously. “...But nothing would make me happier, than to give you my blessing, Starshimmer. Yes. Snow Angel may go and live with you.” Starshimmer squee'd. “Thank you so much, Powder. I promise I'll take care of her.” “I don't doubt that in the least, Sweetie.” Powdered smiled. “Just don't forget to visit this old mare once in awhile.” Angel leaped over the counter and gave her aunt a pony hug. “Thank you so much, Auntie.” Powder returned the hug. “You're welcome, love. Now, go and pack. I dare say you won't want to delay moving for very long.” “Not a chance.” Angel pulled back from the hug. “C'mon, Star. We got some work to do.” “Right behind you, Angel.” Starshimmer giggled. “Actually. You know what? I'll race you!” At that, she took off out the door. “Cheater!” Angel gasped. She quickly leapt over the counter, and took off after her. End.
