Sometimes, the best option is not to try and understand it, but to go along with it. Perhaps an adventure will follow suit.” It was a warm winter day... You heard me, winter. The weather here is fucked up, alright? Anyways... I was walking to my school on this warm winter day. I walk alone, not because I don't have any friends, but because it's good to sort out your thoughts before school. I always listen to music, always electronic music. It's so catchy and awesome in my opinion. There was quite a strong wind today and would normally make the day much colder. For some reason, the weather gods decided that it should be in the 60's in winter. Granted, I'm in Illinois, so winters can potentially get quite cold. The song was fitting for what I thought this day would be: happy. Oh, how I was so, so wrong about that. It was much better than expected. But in a way, it was also worse. And that is what I feared. I should tell you what happened. No? Too bad, I'm telling you anyway. --Chapter 1: To Begin Anew-- I hope it never snows. As a kid, it was so much fun to see the snow fall. The mystery of snow was fascinating to my young mind. I remember building snow forts to keep my pet dog out. The snowball fights at my school. Everyone always got in trouble for it. We didn't care though. We were having fun. There seems to be a lack of that in high school. Don't get me wrong, high school is fun and all, but... it's missing something. The feeling of surprise, and wonder. Like with snow. I wouldn't feel this until today. Today, where my life went to a sudden halt, then did a double-take. I was walking to school like I normally do, but something seemed... BEHIND me. There was nothing to hear, or see. Its just the music. I tell myself. It works, and I turn right, onto the school's main street. There it is again! I look behind me, but only see a group of girls, quite far behind me. They are really loud... I set my eyes back on the school, trying to recite the rivers and geographical locations of the south-west U.S.. I open the double-doors that lead into my school. I see the secretary, or guard, watching the monitors behind his desk. It was a Wednesday, which means school started an hour later today. I think teachers have a meeting every Wednesday. I continue to my first class: La/Lit. I don't really like this class very much, but my teacher is nice. I set my bag down, and sit in my desk, waiting for the bell to ring. This was going to be a nice, short day. After finishing my last class of the day, Biology (We have the best teacher. He always gives a joke before class.) I set off to the media club in my school. We mostly dabble in making promotional videos for the school. We have a very important project to finish. We had to do some filming today, and as always, I had fun. It's my favorite time of the day. I can sit with my friends and make videos and music. Heaven, for me at least. School ends at 2:50 for most kids, but I always leave school at around 5:30 or so. I decided today that I should go through the route home in the back of the school. I walk out the back door of the club, and wave everyone a goodbye. I walk down to the entrance of the back route. It feels so secluded back there. So many trees, and its looks even better, with the sun setting in the background. You could see the remaining sunlight reflect off of the raindrops on the remaining leaves of the trees. The sky was a beautiful red, with the color draining as it radiated outwards, until it went to a fantastic shade of purple, and then to a darker blue. You could see the moon, slightly, in the background. Waiting for its chance to shine. I could see some stars, but being in a rural area kind of limits your star gazing ability. After watching the sky and its beauty, I continued to walk home. The sound, there it is again. I wasn't listening to music this time, either. I swear, I'm not hearing things. I start to turn around, but feel some sort of hand impact my face, and leave me unconscious. … I'm awake. I don't know my exact location, but I know it's still near the path home. I keep trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I wasn't kidnapped, was I? I was leaned up, carefully, against a tree. No kidnapper would have done that. Another weird thing: there were no footsteps near me. For someone to have carried or drag me, would leave some sort of imprint in the mud. Who was I dealing with? I searched for my glasses, and found them neatly closed and set next to me. Whoever decided to kidnap me is pretty considerate. I hear a ruffling behind me, like a bird, but bigger. And boy was I right. There, behind me, was none other than Rainbow Dash. I think I might have developed schizophrenia after I got hit in the head. That has got to be the reason. I froze immediately. “I feel like you should see who took you.” She said to me. I still stood frozen. What was going on? This is not possible. Never, not ever. “...” I stood in complete silence, my mind to get a grasp around the situation. It just couldn't. “Well, are you going to say anything?” She said quizzically, and slightly annoyed. I tried to speak, but it felt like my windpipe was stapled closed, and couldn't find the staple remover. “You... aren't possible.” I said at last. I'm really bad at first impressions. “Excuse me?” She said, getting more annoyed at me now. Her tail twitched angrily in response. “You're just from... a T.V. Show. You can't be real.” I felt that I seriously was going crazy. I would need a lot of therapy after this. “Of course I'm real! How else would you have ended up at this tree?” She riddled me. That was a good point... but still. This defies everything on Earth. There was nothing on this Earth that could explain her physical presence next to me. “I don't know... I just... I've gone insane...” I told her. She was curious as to why I was so befuddled at her presence. “I don't think you've gone insane. Look, I'm really here.” She somehow picked up a rock and threw it at a window of a house. It cracked the window, badly. I glanced down at my watch. It was only 8:28. At least nobody was awake in the house Rainbow broke the window in. I was... glad that she was really here. Was glad the word? I have no clue. All I know is that there is THE Rainbow Dash, in front of me. There has to be a reason she is here. I question her. “Why are you here? And what do I have to do with it?” “I was sent here by Princess Luna, of Equestria.” She told me, “I was never told why you in particular were needed by her so badly, but she looked panicked when she told me to find you.” “This makes no sense.” I told her. “I understand, but we need to go back to her, as soon as possible.” She smirked at me. “At least I finally found you. I've been searching for quite a while now.” “How long?” I asked. “About... half a day or so.” She gloated. “ I knew I was going to find you at some point. Zayden, right?” “How did you know who I am?” I asked, sort of frightened. “The Princess is good at finding information, even about..." She pondered for a bit, "humans! That's what they call you. The question is, how do you know who I am?” Well, she has to know. I went on, spending quite a bit of time telling her about the show, and how the bronies admire and love the show. She liked the idea. “Me? On T.V? I know I would be famous!.” I chuckled. She seemed much... nicer in person. After the fact that she is physically not possible on planet Earth, she seems easy to get along with. “You said earlier that I had to leave all of this.” I waved my arms around to add emphasis. “I just don't know. I have family, and friends. It would be hard for me to leave it all behind.” “Well, you have some time to think about it. I'm not in contact with Princess Luna, but we are getting a way back to Equestria in... two weeks.” “Two weeks? But what are you going to do? People can't see you around here. Who knows what they'll do to you.” She didn't sound the least bit worried. “That's the thing: nobody else can SEE me. The way I'm here is... well... I was put into a deep sleep by a spell the princess cast on me. It sent me mental being, or something, here to your world. Ask Twilight when you get there, she should how this mumbo-jumbo works. The fact that I can interact with the environment was on purpose.” I guess this was all planned out for her.”I could say something, but only you could hear it. That's how I found you.” This started to make more sense. “So, what do we do in the meantime?” I questioned her. “I guess we just do what you normally do. I'll follow. Can't lose you now.” She smiled. “Let's go. I want to see what houses look like here.” I grabbed my glasses, and we set off to my house. I was talking to Dash, but I was getting weird looks from people. I must look insane. So I got out those crappy white headphones you get with the mic on them when you buy an iPhone, and put them in. Made me look less psychotic. We continued to talk about how different our two worlds are. Equestria is nothing like Earth, really. Mysteries cannot always be solved. Sometimes, the best option is not to try and understand it, but to go along with it. Perhaps an adventure will follow suit. A/N: Well, this story sounds a lot better than the last one I tried. Please ignore spacing and indent mistakes... they confuse me. I may, MAY, take someone to be my editor. I'm hesitant about it because I was an editor for some stories, and feels wrong for someone to edit for an editor's story. Message me if you would like to be an editor. If you see some grammar/spelling mistakes, notify me, but do not go Grammar Nazi on me. More chapters to come somewhere around the end of this week or next week. I finally have the time and supplies to write a full story... yay.
