Chapters I slumped on my recliner. As always. I practically lived in the damn thing. I never got up other than to eat or go to the bathroom. I don't race anymore. Instead I spend most of my waking hours staring at the pictures of me and Rainbow Dash.
How long has it been since she left? Two to three years I guess. I never got over it. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about her. Everything from her slim body, her cute competitive attitude, her stunning magenta eyes, that beautiful rainbow hair, and that gorgeous voice.
Everytime it rained I would go out and stand there. Getting soaked by rainwater all just to see the rainbow that would appear afterwards. Everytime I did see a rainbow I would think about Rainbow Dash again, all the great times we shared. All gone now, nothing but painful memories.
I shook myself out of my daze. I went into the garage. Inside were three cars. One was a GTO. The other was my BMW. The third was something I had built.
It was a Nissan 240SX. I had removed it's engine and replaced it with the engine of a semi-truck's. I had removed any excess weight from the piece of machinery. It had a bunch of stuff attached to it. One of which was a actual Flux Capacitator. I had gotten it from the military for $200,000. It supposedly had the power to send anything through dimensions.
I stared at the monstrosity. It was ugly, but it was my one and only ticket out of here and back to Dashie. I walked over and ran my hand down the body of the car. For some reason it reminded me of back when Me and Dash used to cuddle up in bed, keeping each other warm.
I shut my eyes tight. I stormed back into the living room and grabbed my keys. I stomped back to the garage, unlocked the car and got in the monster. I started the engine. All that raw power rumbled under the hood. I drove out the garage. I wasn't sure if this was going to work or not. I had a one in a million chance of getting this. But I was willing to do anything to get back to Dashie. Anything.
I revved the huge engine. It was fired up. I waited for a second and just floored it. The car sped off like a bullet out of a gun. I was slammed into the seat. The world slowly became a blur as I hit light speed. I saw a wall up ahead, but I didn't mind. I only stepped on the gas pedal harder.
The world was swirling, just becoming a blur as I switched dimensions. But that didn't help. The car was still going at around 300 MPH. I felt my body changing as I crossed dimensions. My fingers retracted from my hands, wings grew out from my back, my skin grew a smooth coat of black fur.
When I finally crossed dimensions, I instantly hit uneven roads. The car bumped around and eventually went airbourne. I heard the Flux Capacitatior blow up as the car sailed through the air. The car hit the ground and blew up but not before flinging me out.
I tumbled across the meadow, I stared at the sky. The light blue sky. I could feel some of my limbs burnt. I saw a cyan blue figure look at me. I tried to talk but ended up passing out. Darkness shrouded my vision.
When I woke up, I felt fine aside from the pain in my right han- wait, is that a hoof? I examine my limbs. They were covered in a coat of silky jet black fur. So was my torso. I felt kind of freaked out but I kept my composure and calmed myself. Just stay calm, cool, and collected.
Suddenly a horrifying thought came into my mind. Had I failed? Was this the wrong dimension? Maybe I had messed up. I tried to swallow my fear and kept my calm attitude in check.
I waited for some time until a pony came in. His snout was boxy-ish I guess. He was a doctor, but was he male or female? I didn't know. It looked kinda obvious but I didn't want to be rude and call a girl a man.
I kept quiet while the doctor stood at one end of my bed. He was checking his clipboard. He looked up at me, a cheerful smile occupied his face.
"Well, you're a lucky lucky colt. You managed to survive with third-degree burns instead of blowing up in that heap of metal. You're face is still in one piece and in it's original position. I think. Check it out yourself."
I nodded at him. He handed me a mirror. I looked into it and found out that I now had fiery red and orange hair. Or was it a mane? I guess so. My eyes had retained their magenta color. I didn't know if I was considered handsome or not since I looked almost exactly the same as the doctor.
"You still would've died if this young mare hadn't found you."
Right on cue a cyan blue pony poked her head in the room, she had spunky rainbow hair and beautiful magenta eyes, on her flank was the logo of a cloud and a rainbow colored lightning bolt. My heart skipped a beat. Could it really be her? Did I really succeed?
I stared at her for a while. She had a smile on her face, she trotted in with five other mares in tow, I noticed some of them had wings and some had horns. Some had nothing. They all entered and went to the side of my bed. They surrounded me, smiles on all their faces. I slowly looked at all six of them.
One of them was yellow with a long pink mane, her wings were tucked by her side. Another was orange and had a yellow mane with a stetson on her head. One of them was pink and had a fluffy pink mane that looked like cotton candy. Another was alabaster with a curly blue mane, she had a horn sprouting from her head. The last one was lavender and also had a horn.
My eyes kept drifting back to the cyan blue mare. Her spunky rainbow hair was so familiar, and those magenta eyes, this can't be a coincidence. The doctor was about to leave.
"Now remember miss Rainbow, you and you're friends are only allowed until six. Then you will have to leave."
"Sure thing doc."
That voice! It was her's! And what did the doctor call her? Miss Rainbow? This can't possibly be a coincidence. I tried to sit up but I felt a sharp pain in my back. The mares helped me back down.
"Easy there hotshot." The cyan blue mare told me
I turned to her and stared into her magenta eyes. She had a cute smile on her face. I wondered if I should address her here. In front of her friends, maybe after 3 years she had forgotten me. Maybe I was mistaken. I pushed those thoughts aside and watched as the cyan blue mare held a glass of water. She was going to give it to me.
"Here. Drink up."
"Thanks Dashie."
Rainbow stopped. She stared at me, her eyes filled with suspicion. She gave me a glare.
"Only my close friends call me that."
Her friends were now staring at me with suspicion rather than happiness.
She raises a hoof to strike. Before she could, I reached into where my pockets were supposed to be. Though there appeared to be no pockets, my hooves slipped into a pit. I felt a rectangular object. I pulled it out. Though I had no fingers, I somehow got a grip on the object and was pulling it out.
I pulled the object out. It was a cyan blue iPhone, the logo of a cloud and a rainbow colored lightning bolt was on the phone. The cyan blue mare gasped, then I heard the glass of water in her hooves fall to the floor and shatter.
This chapter is shorter than usual. Soz' about that. Busy writing the "Shattered" sequel.
Rainbow Dash stared at me, eyes filled with disbelief. Her friends kept glancing at the phone, then at me, then back to the phone. I gulped and looked at all of them, unsure of what was about to happen next.
Rainbow Dash leaped off her hooves and jumped onto me. I lied down on my bed, crushed by the cyan blue pony smothering me in hugs and kisses. I don't resist and quickly return the gestures.
"WHERE THE HAY HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!"
"um... Looks like someone missed me."
She doesn't say anything, Instead she closes her eyes and lean in, our lips touch almost instantly, giving us both that loving passion we both enjoy. This time, my kiss is more caring and slower in its embrace. Unlike when she would attack me with her barrages of love. We both slowly creep your tongues into each others mouths, I taste that unforgettable mix of wild berries but this time it’s accompanied with a bit minty aftertaste. We both crave for more and indulge yourselves in the heat of the moment.
This is much better than a bunch of "get well soon" flowers
"You missed me didn't you?" Dash asked in a sultry voice
"Maybe. Okay, yes."
She slowly gets off me and down onto the floor. We both stood there in an awkward silence avoiding eye contact but both giggling at the reunion between the both of us, Dash's friends kept glancing at me, then Dash, then me again, then the ceiling, then me.
"Oh right! Girls, this is my coltfriend! His name is-"
"I'm sorry girls but do you mind if me and Dashie here have a minute of privacy?"
The mares stared at me. Including Rainbow Dash. She raises an eyebrow, surprised at my sudden panic.
"Sure thing!" The lavender unicorn said.
Once they left, Rainbow Dash stared at me. An annoyed look on her face. Gosh, even as a pony she looked cute.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm gonna need a new name."
"Why would you? I mean "Ryan" is a pretty weird name but it'll work."
"Because, if your princess finds out that there's a colt with a name like Ryan..."
"Oh. You have a point there."
"Um... How's about Slipstream?"
"Not bad. But still not as awesome as Rainbow Dash."
Eventually Dash's five friends re-entered the room.
"Sorry about that girls. Anyway, this is my new coltfriend Slipstream."
"'Sup?"
"Slipstream, this is Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity."
I gave them a wave and they responded with greetings of their own. They wished me luck and other stuff like that blah blah blah blah blah. I'm not trying to sound rude but it honestly is better when people shut up and just talk instead of saying stuff like "Oh you poor thing!" or "Get well soon!". It just sounds so cheesy and overused.
Eventually the doctor had came back in and told everybody to leave. The five mares said their goodbyes and left. Rainbow Dash gave me one more peck on the cheek and then flew out the hospital room. I sighed as the doctor was messing about with his tools and medicine.
"Excuse me if I'm being nosy, but how long have you two been together?" the doctor asked
"Um... quite a while. Then we were separated, then now we're back together again."
"I see."
The doctor grabbed what he needed and left. I stayed in my bed, bored out of my mind. I stared out the window and watched the birds fly about and go on with their daily lives. In about two weeks I would be no different.
I stayed in, bed all comfortable like. When suddenly I thought about Rainbow Dash, in the shower, a seductive look on her face as water trickled down her cyan blue body and she motioned with her hooves to come forwards. Sure she was a pony but it was still pretty hot.
Suddenly I felt my back hurt, no not my back. I looked behind to see a pair of jet black wings sticking out of my back. They were stiff and throbbing as the erotic image of Dash continued circling my mind.
"Great, I have wing shaped penises on my back."
I eventually managed to get my supposed boner under control and continued relaxing. I stared out the window at the peaceful scenery. Suddenly my mind decided to be a bitch about it.
What about cars?! I love cars! Where's the tracks?! How do we race?! HOW WILL I EVER SATISFY MY NEED FOR SPEED?! OH WHATEVER SHALL I DO?!
"Shut up brain. Where were you back in my fourth grade geography test?"
...
"That's what I thought. No good drama queen."
I decided to take a nap when all of a sudden a nurse came in.
"Um... Sir, do you have a minute?"
"Sure, what's up?"
"I'm sorry to inform you but, this part of the hotel is usually kind off, odd. If you feel anything weird at all, please inform the staff."
"Sure thing."
The nurse left and I fell asleep. I had no trouble sleeping since I knew that in no time I could spend more time with my Dashie.
I remembered what the nurse had said. She was clearly saying that the place was haunted. That night, I was woken up by a ghost. But I wasn't scared. Know why? Because that ghost had a rainbow mane, magenta eyes and the voice of an angel.
Dashie is just so adorabu isn't she?
I woke up. My eyes stung from the sunlight. I looked to my side and saw Rainbow Dash, fast asleep in a chair. She seemed to be... sleep talking? I leaned in closer and heard her practically describe her dreams out to me. To say they were bad would be an understatement. They were downright naughty.
When she was done I tried to hold in the laughter that consumed me as well as the wingboner I had. Jeez, Dashie was a horny pony. I shook her awake and soon her eyelids flew open, revealing those signature magenta eyes that I came to love and adore so much.
“Humawhat?”
“Morning Rainbow.”
“Oh. I’m still here. You know you just woke me up from the best dream ever.”
“Oh I don’t think I missed one bit of it.”
I then proceeded to follow every single one of Rainbow’s words and replay the audial gold that I had just heard from the sleeping beauty herself. I noticed Dash’s face getting redder and redder with every word.
Rainbow flew up on top of my bed and poised a hoof up high, ready to strike.
“I swear if you dare tell anypony else-”
“Don’t worry Dashie. Your dirty little secret’s safe with me.”
Dash flew down from my bed and landed on the floor. She checked the clock and gave me one last kiss.
“The doctor’s gonna come in any second so I’m gonna have to-”
“Dash?”
“You know I hate puns!”
Rainbow Dash opened the windows and flew out. I watched her as she left a rainbow trail behind her. I had gotten over it quite quickly, how I was in a new universe and all. As long as I was with her, I was okay with everything.
I waited as the doctor entered the room. He held something in his hooves. It was small black and shiny. It looked distinctly familiar, the doctor placed his clipboard on the table and walked over to my bed.
“Well, you’re fine for now. We managed to heal your burns and a couple of cuts and bruises. We’re checking you out by this afternoon.”
“Thanks.”
“By the way, I believe this belongs to you.”
He held out his hoof, showing me the small black object. It was a Samsung Galaxy. My phone. I grabbed it and stared at it, surprisingly, it was in mint condition. It was touch screen so, no hoof problems.
“It was found near the wreckage. We assumed it was your’s.”
I scrolled through my music playlist and managed to create a playlist that I was content with I placed the device beside my bed. The music was soft enough so that only I could hear it. Soon I was bobbing my head while music played.
The doctor grabbed what he needed and left the room. Minutes later I heard screams of agony come from a room nearby. And in seconds, and I mean SECONDS the doctor is back, his white coat soaked in blood. I stared at him, my mouth agape. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“What?”
I shook my head and just ignored him. I focused on the music as the thought of freedom circled my mind.
An hour later...
I was walking through the receptionist counter with the doctor by my side. He was giving me a lecture about my wings. He said that they were a little banged up but it was okay to fly. Just not very fast.
I thanked him and exited the hospital. I breathed in the fresh air that flowed around me. I immediately scanned the clouds in search of Rainbow. I spotted her rainbow tail hanging from the edge of a cloud. I fluttered my wings which seemed pretty weird at first, then I got the hang of it. I hovered in mid-air, trying to learn how to fly. I learned eventually and targeted the cloud like I was a heat-seeking missile.
I crashed into cloud, well, not my whole body. Only my head poked through the white shape. Rainbow was taking a nap just inches away from me. I managed to wiggle myself free and hover up to the cloud with her. She looked peaceful, sleeping on the cloud.
Suddenly a thought crossed my mind. How do clouds feel like? I laid back and rested myself on the cloud. It was like resting on a big pile of cotton. In other words, very, very comfy. I didn’t fall asleep though. I sat up and watched the citizens below, going about their daily lives.
I was tempted to wake Rainbow up so that we could spend some more time catching up. I was about to turn when suddenly I felt somebody push me off the cloud. I managed to grab the edge of the fluffy mass and hung there, my heartbeat was as rapid as a machine gun.
I looked up to see Rainbow Dash laughing, clutching her sides. I stared at her with horror. What kind of a girlfriend pushes you off a cloud?
“Mind giving me a hoof?”
“Naw.”
I grumbled and flew up the cloud. Rainbow Dash was just wiping a tear from her eye.
“The hell was that for?!”
“Remember Nitrocide?”
“That was almost two years ago!”
“Love you too Slips.”
I rolled my eyes. My mind still not getting over the fact that Rainbow Dash had tried to MURDER me. She noticed my bad mood and gave me a light punch on the shoulder.
“Cheer up! It was just a joke.”
“Except I almost died.”
“Fine. Look hows about you and I go get ourselves some grub?”
“Sounds good.”
Rainbow Dash flew off the cloud and I followed. She kept pointing at various shops and telling me why she liked them so much. Eventually she stopped at a cafe. I didn’t pay the sign or the name any attention. I found a table for two and the both of us sat down. I browsed around and decided to order some hay fries. Not sure how they were gonna taste but whatever.
Rainbow Dash scanned the menu and I saw her eyes light up. The waiter came soon enough and took our orders. I had no idea what Rainbow ordered since she just pointed at something on the menu. The waiter took a look and scribbled something down on a piece of paper with his magic.
Moments later, a basket of fried hay arrived. I took a sniff and eyed the dish.
“Go on Slips. Don’t be picky.”
I bit a mouthful and chewed. It was crispy like fries and even had the same taste. I was surprised by this I decided not to think of it too much and just eat.
Shortly afterwards Dash’s order came. Guess what? She had ordered a bowl of rainbow ice cream. Yup, you heard me, rainbow ice cream.
Dash took a spoonful and shoved it in her mouth. Judging from her expression it must’ve been really, really good. I picked up a spoon and was about to have some myself until Dash placed a hoof on mine and pushed it away.
“Aww C’mon.”
“Well, if you wanted it you should’ve ordered it yourself.”
I watched as Dash continued devouring her chilled dessert. What a pampered pony, having ice cream for lunch.
Dash was too absorbed in her ice cream so I took a spoon and managed to sneak a spoonful of the desert into my mouth. As soon as it did I closed my eyes and felt an explosion of flavors go off in my mouth. It was extraordinary. Human ice cream was nothing compared to this.
I opened my eyes and saw Dash giving me an annoyed look.
“What?”
“You have ice cream on your face. My ice cream to be exact.”
“About that...”
Dash leaned forward and licked the delicious chilled dairy of me. I felt her smooth tongue maneuver it’s way around my face and lick up the rainbow liquid. I couldn’t help but laugh.
Soon we were finished with our foods. We chatted for a bit and basically caught up. As we talked I spotted AJ in the distance. She seemed to have a distant look in her eyes. As if she wished she had somepony to call her own.
“What’s up with AJ?”
Rainbow turned around just in time as AJ turned to leave.
“Well, according to everypony else, AJ disappeared about a week after I did. Where she went nopony knows. And she doesn’t seem like she’s gonna tell us anytime soon.”
“About that, how did you end up on earth anyways?”
“Well, while I was flying in the sky, Twilight misfired one of her spells and it hit me. She wanted to try a new teleportation spell.”
“Hmm, makes sense.”
“Kinda. How she missed, beats me.”
“Hey, since I just came here like yesterday, I’m gonna need a place to stay.”
“Well my place duh.”
“Um... thanks, but where exactly is your place?”
She pointed behind me. I looked behind and saw a huge flying cloud mansion. Streams of rainbows poured out of it.
“You live there?”
“Yup.”
I felt awestruck by the home. It was huge! Much larger than most homes I’ve seen on earth.
“How did you manage to live in that huge mansion all by yourself?”
“I dunno. But that’s about to change.”
After finishing their lunch, Rainbow Dash had dragged Ryan/Slipstream (Whatever, take your pick) back to her floating mansion of a home. Rainbow unlocked the door and entered the enormous home. Ryan followed close behind. He stepped in, making sure to close the door behind him.
Rainbow Dash walked over to her couch and leaped into it. Putting her hooves behind her head.
“Welcome to Casa De La Rainbow.” Dash smirked
Ryan looked around before whistling signalling that he was impressed.
“Pretty roomy.” Ryan said
Ryan ignored her and walked over to the window and stared out at the sun as it went down. Rainbow Dash hovered over soon enough. She leaned on Ryan. Joining him as he watched the sun slowly disappear behind the hills.
“What’re you thinking of?”
“I don’t know. I’m kinda scared that I’m gonna have to go back again. I gave up everything for this. What if I have to go back?”
“Stop worrying so much. You’re starting to sound like Twilight.”
Ryan kept quiet and watched the sun as it continued going down. With Rainbow Dash by his side, leaning onto him. Ryan felt like he could stay there forever. He rested his head against Dash and continued staring at the setting sun.
