$17 per gallon, nobody could afford to buy gasoline, gas stations and oil companies went out of business. The few smart ones made their own fuel by fermenting sugar water and then distilling it.
The standards for food went down in response to the crisis, dairy was no longer pasteurized, it was too expensive to run the machines that purified it, people became very ill.
Electrical Energy was reserved for the government and their uses and only a small fraction of it goes to the needy population.
Law Enforcement couldn’t do a good enough job at keeping the protesters and rebels at bay, so they downgraded their safety standards and upgraded their arsenal. Shoot first, ask questions later, pepper spray and batons became thermite spray and modified blowtorches. The police used to have pistols and Tasers but it became machine guns and battle rifles. Police soon raided innocent people’s houses, destroying their belongings, stealing and harming innocent, giving the excuse that they are rooting out possible rebels as part of their crackdown. A man named yak had led a rebel group against them but it was a wasted effort. The civilians didn’t stand a chance as guns for them were outlawed, say goodbye to the Second Amendment.
In the midst of this crisis will tell you a story…
A story of three men… No, ponies, yes, bronies. In college of course. Three humans by the names of Alex, Dave, and Jeremy in 2017 California.
Just sitting and waiting, waiting for the bell that never seemed to ring, the same routine, day, after day, after day…Alex, pretending to read the book but is actually thinking of his next fan fiction to write. Dave was drawing ponies but readily kept his classwork on hand just in case the teacher went into stalker mode. Jeremy was tinkering with some small machine until one day… Something happened,
Something indeed happened, a spark… Just a miniscule spark, but a magical green spark, that grew into a green flame as they transformed. Bones grew and shrunk, skin stretched and pulled.
You get the point.
They transformed into… You guessed it… Ponies!
Finally! An important plot point!
Later that day, there were reports on the radio that helicopters spotted three four-legged creatures making an exodus out of the college; two of them took to the skies while the other hastily ran. An order has been made for them to be tranquilized and brought to Area 51 for autopsy.
The trio met up, confused yet delighted, to satisfy their craving curiosity, they made a decision to venture across the country from California to Washington D.C. and break into the secret archives to see if there were anything on ponies, Jeremy was sure they would find something because he visited the archives as a teenager and found something, they would also evade the cops.
Dave had an invaluable ability, the ability to perform a sonic…boom….
Never mind that, it’s the “Sonic Shockwave”
Using this to their advantage they traversed to D.C. within minutes.
Hang on! Boom!
We’re here already!
-Nightfall-
The trio crept into the archives unnoticed, this wasn’t a difficult task because they were much shorter as ponies and they were obscured by the darkness of night.
Feeling their way around, Jeremy led them into the area he was familiar with and eventually ended up in the secret archives.
“Now, there should be a book about paranormal stuff… Ah! There” Jeremy whispered as he spotted the book.
“Easy now…” Dave ordered Jeremy to handle the book with delicacy.
Jeremy set the book on the cold wood floor and proceeded to open it and to their surprise…
“It’s blank” Storm Chaser acknowledged
This was a peculiar book that they soon found out as the pages started turning mysteriously.
Thrown into a state of panic Jeremy tried shutting the book and its strange powers, but it had locked itself in place and wouldn’t budge
“What have I gotten myself into?” Jeremy thought to himself out loud
Suddenly a relentless pull dragged them into a portal where the book was and thrown into a dark void…
The trio found themselves in a forest filled with wildlife and plants never seen before, It didn’t take half a brain to know that they were not on Earth. The trio cautious to avoid being attacked by any predators or poisoned by any plants decided to explore their surroundings.
Soon they found out that they weren’t on some random planet but they were on Equestria, the forest they were in was the Everfree Forest and on their way out of the woodland they saw a trail littered with leaves from Whitetail Wood.
Dave used his knowledge from the show to navigate their way out of the forest and to a village.
You already know… Ponyvile
The village was deserted, not a pony to be found.
“Now before we go barging in there we need names for ourselves, Dave, Alex or Jeremy isn’t gonna cut it” Dave suggested that they should use the names of their OC’s since they were adept bronies.
Dave is Storm Chaser
Alex is Riptide
Jeremy is Trickster
Not a single shop is open, all lights out even the street lights.
*POOF!* A cloud of purple smoke came out of thin air, when the smoke dissipated it revealed an anxious purple unicorn (you guessed it… Twilight)
“Pardon me, but… Who are you ponies?” Twilight timidly asked, she looked at them as if they stood out, they examined themselves and realized they were wearing human clothes which didn’t fit the ponies.
“Well, we aren’t from this world…As you may see” Dave explained, Twilight, intrigued asked…
“Where are you from then?” The unicorn asked, Dave remembered being sucked into the mysterious portal from the book, they may have been sent to an alternate universe at second thought.
“I guess we are from an alternate universe on a similar planet called Earth, In that world we’re not ponies, we are biped creatures known as humans, we don’t come from your world although we do know of your existence but you probably don’t know of ours” Dave explained
“The reason we are ponies…We don’t know why, but I don’t think we go back there, our lives are ruined there and we have no desire to go back” Dave continued
“Why don’t you want to go back” Twilight dared to ask with the rest of the Mane Six there, all three of the newcomers had uneasy looks on their faces, Dave was the first to respond to the inquisition…
“Well, the government is corrupted, economy is ruined, food is bad, and the police is blaming the entire country for partaking in a rebellion, only a few rebelled yet the whole country suffers… My parents are also… Deceased” Dave spoke up, next was Jeremy.
“I catch all the food we eat, fight off the police when they come, I can’t enjoy my life...also nobody liked my fez....or my poncho” Jeremy replied, and last was Alex.
“Umm…” Alex was deathly shy and knew he couldn’t avoid not telling.
He lowered his profile as everypony was looking at him, “My dad died from organ failure and my mom abuses me and she tried to…kill me….” Alex admitted while feeling pressured.
"You eat meat?" Asked twilight "and you wear a fez...and a poncho?"
“Oh my goodness…” Fluttershy whispered under her breath while the rest of the Mane Six were speechless. The nine ponies started to chat and soon ponies started to open their doors and come back out as if nothing happened. The trio was slightly confused about their disappearance, but it wasn’t that important to them.
“Well I’m Storm Chaser, and these are my friends: Riptide and Trickster” Dave identified himself and his friends
“I am Twilight Sparkle, these are my friends: Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack“
“Well…Welcome to Ponyvile, I hope we can make your stay here happy” Pinkie Pie wasn’t as hyper as she usually is but she tried to cheer us up.
“Let’s throw a party to celebrate their arrival” She lightened up and trotted off to Sugar Cube Corner.
“Thanks” Trickster concluded
