The Assassins' Ascent
Chapter 2: First Contact?

Sunlight peered through the broken window, causing Ezio to wake up. Ezio awoke on his make-shift bed, made out of torn rags. The rags looked similar to the ones at that hung on the castle walls he was at last night, just a lot more older. He arose to his feet, slowly, then stretched every muscle in his body. He cracked his back, due to the hard stone floor he had slept on, analyzed his surroundings, yup, still the same old castle when he arrived last night. He put on his outfit, (which, in fact he used for a blanket) and began walking towards the exit.
A bright light flashed from behind him. He turned his head towards the light, and it blinded him for a second. He used his forearm to cover his eyes to prevent him from going permanently blind. The light lowered, making him able to see a little. After the light completely died, something gold and orange laid on the ground. He walked closer and picked up the object. It was a necklace, it had an orange apple on the front, everything else was gold. The necklace looked like it belonged to a princess.
Behind the apple said, "Honesty." Ezio didn't know what this meant, but he decided to keep it. You'll never if someone lost it, if not, then willing to buy. He took one last glance at it before stuffing it in his pouch. He began walking towards the exit, again, and when he was outside, he sat on the stairs. He pulled out his journal and a quill wrapped neatly in a cloth, and began writing.
After about two minutes of writing, he stood up and walked down the stairs. Going the opposite way from where he came from, a cliff with a foggy abyss, and a possibly unstable rope bridge, was in the direction of Ponyville. "Great..." he thought sarcastically. Ezio slowly, and carefully, made his first step on the bridge. The bridge made an uneasy groan as he made his second step, each one getting more uneasier. At his eighth step, the rope on the bridge collapsed, and Ezio held onto the rope as tight as he could. He fell through the smoke, and braced for an impact. His shoulder rammed into the hard dirt when he had stopped, he moved to the planks, and climbed them like a ladder. After about thirty seconds he reached the top, and the fog cleared. Once he was about twenty five feet away from the cliff, he fell flat on his back and said, "What a start for today...". He arose and began his walk through the "Everfree Forest".
As he walked through the forest, it was getting darker. The branches and leaves were blocked the sunlight from going through, there was a small patch of sunlight every ten feet away from each other. He couldn't help to think that something was watching him. Above him, above the tree line, through a clearing in the leaves, a gray pegasus with a blonde mane, was utterly confused with the address on the package she received. Her eyes caught the movements of the assassin, and swooped down for directions. Ezio heard the sounds of branches breaking, and turned his head towards the noise. Nothing was there. He resumed his walk, the next thing he saw almost gave him a heart attack.
The same grey pegasus was hovering in front of him. "Hiya!" the grey pegasus spoke. This alarmed Ezio, causing him to fall down on his rear. "Woah, sorry for scaring you, ummm... Mister? You are a mister, right?" she said again with a giggle. Ezio just sat there, staring at the pegasus, unable to tell if this was reality, or a dream. He noticed her- she was a she, right? Her eyes didn't seem to be looking at him... Directly. In fact, her eyes were looking in the opposite direction of each other. She noticed him staring at her eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that? And why won't you talk?" no reply. "Do you know this place?" she showed Ezio the address. To his surprise, it was written in English. The tag read, "Ponyville". Still unable to speak, he pointed in the direction of Ponyville. She seemed confused at first, then she turned the tag upside-down, and realized what it said. "Ooh... Hehe, whoops." she said embarrassedly. "Sorry for wasting your time... Uh, mister." then she flew off. Ezio still sat there, very confused. "Have I gone mad?" he said to himself. Nothing but darkness, pockets of light, and trees were left with him.
(Meanwhile... In the present.)
"What do we do?" Twilight said in a panicky tone, trotting back and forth, "He hasn't even given us a riddle, clue, or hint!"
"Calm down, Twi, ah'm sure we can think of somethin'." Applejack spoke, trying to keep Twilight from breaking down.
"I've got an idea!" Rainbow Dash started, "Where's the first place we found the elements?"
"Umm... Twilight's library?" Pinkie Pie guessed.
"No," Twilight said, "that's the second place we found them. The first place we found them was in... the ancient castle of the royal pony sisters!" she said excitingly and terrified.
"That's a mouthful." Rarity said.
"We have no time to lose!" Celestia shouted. "I will have transports for you, but the entrance is as far as they can go! Now hurry my little ponies!" They all nodded and rushed out of the throne room, leaving Celestia with the frogs. "Don't worry we'll have you back in no time." she said to the former-pony guards. They both jumped in delight. Celestia gave them a warm smile.
The mane six arrived at the surprisingly large stables. A few guards were, well, guarding the chariots, while the other few were exchanging conversation. "Guards!" Twilight shouted, "We need transport to the Everfree Forest!"
"We will give you a lift," one of the guards stated, "but you should know that we-"
"Will only drop us off at the entrance," Twilight interrupted, "We know! Just get us there, quick!"
"You could just say please." one of them muttered. Three pegasi guards positioned themselves to be hooked on the chariot, and three other unicorns were called in. Each one hooked the pegasi simultaneously. The guards snorted, informing them they were ready. Another one nodded, and tugged on rope with his mouth, curtains were set aside, making room for the pegasi and chariots. Behind the curtains was a landing pad for slowing down, and taking off.
Twilight and Rarity stepped on the first one, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stepped on the second one, and finally Pinkie Pie and Applejack stepped on the last one. Number one was first to go, "I hope you should know," Rarity spoke, "I'm not used to fly-AHHHAHAHAA!" the chariot took off and Rarity was already screaming. Number two was next to go, "O-oh d-d-dear..." Fluttershy stuttered. "Calm down, Shy," Rainbow Dash spoke, "Your a pegasus for crying out loud!"
"I know but-" she hid under her mane with her hooves on top of her head, "I'm n-n-not used t-t-to this!" she quietly screamed. Three was last the last one. "Wheeee!" Pinkie Pie shouted with her hooves in the air. "Ah think ah'm gunna be sick..." Applejack said woozily.
"Alright girls!" Twilight shouted, "It's going to be sundown when we get there, so were going to need a place to stay. Any volunteers?" Nopony said anything.
"U-um your all welcome to stay at my place if you like." Fluttershy spoke up.
"Isn't your place kinda small?" Rainbow Dash said.
"I have a few mattress's in my basement-."
"It's settled then, we'll stay at Fluttershy's house until tomorrow." Twilight interrupted her. "Guards, change destination to Fluttershy's cottage." they nodded and turned slightly to the right. "Wait! I need to get my book at the library first!" the guards nodded again and turned more to the right. "What's so important at your library Twilight?" Rarity asked. "I just need some books to read for tonight." Twilight lied.
"Oh, okay."
"NOW, when we get there it will be after-dusk." Twilight said.
Ezio had arrived to the exit of the "Everfree Forest", and it was now dusk. He doesn't see Ponyville yet, so he decided to find a place to sleep. He looked at his surroundings for... Anything. Nothing was insight, except, that house. The house was the closest thing Ezio could see, so he started walking towards it, unsure about the residents. That gray pony with wings somehow managed to creep back into his mind, and it made him wonder, "What if all the residents of this land were ponies?". A few seconds of thinking. He chuckled to himself a bit, there was no possible way ponies can inhabit a world on their own. It took him a few seconds to realize that he was standing at the front door. He knocked on the door three times. No answer. He knocked again. Still no reply. He opened the door, his hand was on the wall and he accidentally flipped the switch. The light turned on too quick for Ezio, and he squinted to see where the light was coming from. It was coming from the center of the ceiling. It was brighter than a candle, and not so bright as the sun. He wondered what it was, but didn't want to act like a child. He's seen worse. It was a small house, there was a kitchen at the back, but probably not as big as the living room. He saw a staircase and ascended to a small room. A bed beside a window, a night table beside the bed, and a lamp (strange to Ezio). He lied down on the bed, however, it was small. So small that his knees weren't even on the bed. He looked outside, it was night now. Many bright stars shined in the night, the moon was full and he swore he saw something dark on the it. Something... With a horn... And a- SLAM! Somebody was home.
Discord teleported to his secret hideout, "The Mountain" (the episode with the sleeping dragon) and walked towards Luna."Hahaha! Luna you should have seen the looks on their face!" Discord spoke in his happy-prankster tone. Luna, however, was tied up. She used her magic to try and untie the rope, but was unable to. "Little, little, Luna pay attention now, if you want to see the light of day again, you are going to do exactly what I say." Luna looked at him, then spat in his face. "We shall never do your bidding!" she shouted. Discord wiped the saliva off his face and stared at it on his paw, "Yes, I thought you'd be more rebellious." he somehow managed to flick it back at Luna like a piece of crunched up paper. "Now listen here, I'm going to bring the monster inside you out." he let out an evil chuckle. "Are thou speaking of Nightmare Moon?" Luna asked. Discord started at a low evil laugh, and it ascended every four seconds, getting more eviler and louder. Lightning struck from behind him. Luna watched in despair, not knowing if anyone will find her before she becomes a monster.
NOTE: Sorry if this seemed rushed a bit...
