And I Love Her (for no reason)
A/N: Yeah, my new avatar looks a lot like DeiStar's, don't it? And since it not only parodies Let It Be, but it's also named after a song by one of my favorite bands ever: Beatallica. So... Why not do something based off of DeiStar and Beatallica?

What was it about Octavia that Lyra liked so much? Well... It was just something.
It was quite a while after Lyra accodemtally cast that spell on Vinyl and made her fall hopelessly in love with Octavia and, since then, as you already know, said DJ pony had gotten a lot younger because of two prision guards. Octavia had believed the two when they said it was an accident, but Lyra knew better. But that couldn't blind Lyra from how she felt about Octavia.
Unlike Vinyl, Lyra sort of fell in love with Octavia on her own. I mean, Bonbon was nice and all, but that can get boring after a while. Especially when she's into the same kind of crap as Rarity. That's not the point, th-
"Lyra, vhat are you doing here?" Octavia asked the minty green pony. Oh, I should've told you. The two were in an empty theater. Only they were there. Octavia was there because I don't know and Lyra felt the need to stalk her.
"Um... Ignore what the narrator said up there," Lyra replied, pointing at the above paragraph. "What are you doing here?"
"Vinyl vas being a pain, so I decided to come here," Octavia explained quickly. "But that's not the point. Vhy are YOU here?"
Lyra chuckled nerviously. "I guess it's kind of the same story with me... Bonbon was being kind of annoying as well, with the whole voice changing and all..."
"OK, fair enough," Octavia muttered. "But here's a better question. Hov the buck did you get in here?"
"How did I- oh..." Lyra should've seen this coming. Like, from miles.
"Vhat, you can't asnver that question?" Octavia enquired Lyra, hoping she had caught the unicorn.
"Hey, what a coincidence! I was about to ask you the exact same question!" Lyra shot back.
"I... Buck you," Octavia muttered, turning her back to Lyra and getting back to cellisting.
Lyra had been hoping for this. I mean, for a mare who does nothing but stand still, she had an awesome plot! C'mon, admit it. She does. It looked even better when there was a spotlight on her.
"Lyra, stop messing with the lighting system!" Octavia shouted.
"Sorry... I just..." Lyra tried to come up with a good explanation, but she just couldn't. So she just shut her trap and went back to watching Octavia play.
It was a calming song, really. If you got past the intro and outro. But the middle part? Totally calming.
Getting back to where I once belonged, what Lyra liked specifically about Octavia wasn't her music or her flank. It was... Just something. Really, why do you need a reason? It was just something in... The way she moved? The things she showed? Her smile? A real mystery, it was. But one thing was certain: Nothing else matters. No matter how close or how far. I- Lyra had a brilliant idea!
"Hey, Octavia, you want a little help up there?" Lyra asked, hopefully.
"Help?" Octavia asked in return, confused by the sudden offer. I would be grateful, but Octavia was stupid like that.
"Yeah, like, y'know, helping you play or something like that!" Lyra suggested, music MAGICK to pull the lyre she really didn't play anymore out of nowhere.
"You can't do that," Octavia replied flatly, starting to get back to her playing.
"Who said I can't?" Lyra enquired.
Octavia sighed. "Lovely Rita," she muttered sarcastically.
"You just don't want me to be on stage with you!" Lyra whined. "You're all by yourself! Nopony's gonna judge you!"
"What goes on..." Octavia began, but stopped herself. She had practicing to do.
This song was like the last one. And it did have a certain heavy balloon quality to it. At this point, Lyra was wondering she wasn't just coming out and saying it. Vinyl did and, heck, Bonbon announced they were engaged 8 days a week. Whilst wondering, she also began to absent mindly began to play her lyre. For not playing it in about 7 years, she sounded decent.
Their playing on for a few minutes, before Octavia finally noticed the added music to her own. She abruptly stopped her own playing to give Lyra a dirty look.
Noticing this, Lyra stopped as well and grinned sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Octavia, it's just, I was thinking about stuff, but it wasn't about what I was doing and the music you were playing was so good," she rambled, "and I just couldn't help myself and my lyre was right here-"
"And your bird can sing," Octavia interrupted.
"But I don't have one," Lyra said. She winked afterwards.
That earned her a "You knov vhat I mean" look from Octavia.
"So... Can I play with you?" Lyra asked again, hopeful.
Octavia thought about it for a moment before eventually sighing and signalling for Lyra to come up on stage.
Lyra grinned a grin as grins can grin and quickly made her way up to the stage. It wasn't that easy, seeing as how Lyra was handicapped, but, thankfully, somepony had installed a ramp up. I guess the symphony also had a wheelchaired pony.
"Speaking of which, does the symphony have a pony like that?" Lyra enquired.
The cellist shrugged and dug around behind her back for something. After a minute or two, she pulled out another set of sheet music and offered it to Lyra, who MAGICKED over a stand and put the sheet music on it (using MAGICK for that as well).
"Wow, Octavia, I didn't expect this much thrash metal," Lyra commented as she leafed through the sheets. "Iron Cadence, Paranoid Metallicolt, Dashthrax, DragonLorce, Lyra Priest- wait, they named a group after me? That's odd... I wonder how long they've been-"
Octavia shushed Lyra and showed her the page she was on.
"Oh... Right..." Lyra muttered. "So, how should I play this? What key? I personally think the key of awesome would be good, but..."
Octavia silenced Lyra again. "Act naturally," Octavia said simply.
The hint was gotten and Octavia began to play again, Lyra happily joining in this time.
This is amazing... Truly amazing! Lyra thought to herself in gidd. I'm on stage playing with Octavia... But I'm still confused as to why I like I really do like her. I've already got Bonbon. It's just... Something. Something else matters, I guess. Y'see? I title dropped. It's funny. But really, what in the world is it about her?
Suddenly, the song they were playing got really complex and Lyra figured out why Octavia played these songs: Challenge. Extreme challenge. And I mean EXTREME challenge. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a cello burst into flames because of how intense the song was? Thankfully, Lyra's part was a little easier, as if made for a lyre, but it still pretty hard. The song went on for a few minutes longer and Lyra never saw the smug grin on Octavia's face.
Then it stopped.
"How in the buck are you that good a cello?" Lyra gasped, one of the strings on her lyre snapping.
"I feel fine," Octavia answered with a shrug, putting away the still flaming cello in its case.
"That didn't answer my question," Lyra pointed out.
Octavia breathed in through her teeth and tried to think of a good title quote. "So... Vhat?" she tried.
"Hah! That isn't the title of a Beatles song!" Lyra laughed in success.
"Vell, I at least tried to keep it up," Octavia said defensively, starting to leave. "And I'm going nov."
"OK then, I guess I'll be heading off as well," Lyra said, leaving as well.
"Vait until after I leave," Octavia snapped, stopping Lyra in her wheelchair tracks.
"Why?"
And she got no reply. Octavia just gave Lyra a look of "Shut the buck up" and left.
Lyra looked after her for a couple seconds. "And that's why I cannot pick a good mare," she commented to herself before leaving. And as she did, she hummed to herself a farmilliar song.
Then she woke up.
"Aaahh!" Lyra exclaimed, looking around all panicked like. "Ugh! Last time I drink DeiStar before going to bed!"
A/N: ...Once again, I apologize if this sucks. As with all my fanfics, I don't think about what I write, I just write it. Oh, and for those of you wondering why I changed my current avatar to what it is, you can see it here.
