High noon, a contrast to the spirits of those under its sun. The sound of exhausted sobbing could be heard by the tree cabin on the edge of the Everfree. It was a low, strained cry.

“ There there sugarcube,” applejack’s attempt at helping to quell her friend’s pain. She continued,

“ Everythins gonna be okay, just give it a little time.”

“ No applejack,” the yellow mare said, wiping the last strained tear she could manage to give from her eyes, 4 straight hours of heavy tears left her eyes red. Her natural beauty was a far cry from what it’s meant to be. Baggy red circles around her eyes, an mess of a mane, and rustled coat.

“ These kind of things happen all the time in nature, it happens more than every now and then actually...” she looked up to the polished marble gravestone with perfectly scribed carving in the middle.

‘Angel Bunny’

“ I knew this day would come eventually and i told myself i would always be ready for when it does.” she sniffled and rubbed her eyes with a hoof before continuing.

“...But why so soon?” the rest of her friends pulled her into a tight squeeze. It warmed her but didn’t stop her from continuing.

“and why like this...” she turned to them, returning the embrace. “Thank you all for...being here, but i need some time to myself.” she didn’t ask, she wasn’t feeling like herself nor will she be for now.

The others had left to their own matters in compliance to her request. They all seemed a bit in the dirt upon leaving there most vulnerable friend to herself but knew it was for the best. A short trot away from her home was the housing area for her animal friends. She approached a particular large willow, with every step the dread in her eyes flared higher and higher. The nearby animals quivered at the very sight of her.

She entered the tree with a small smile on her face, looking up upon a large black bear with the false happiness, the bear breathed a sigh of relief which quickly meant nothing when the yellow mare started.

“ You,” she plainly said, the casual smile still present.

“You took him away from me...” she further opened her half lidded eyes, meeting the gaze of the giant.

“You took angel... away from me.” the bear felt his body begin to shake violently, involuntary tears swelled in his eyes. Fluttershy’s smirk grew into a wide smile as her pupils shrunk. Blood began to trace down the bear’s face as his eyes turned over in his head. Fluttershy’s stair intensified and within a matter of seconds the once great friend of the care taker laying there lifeless. Fluttershy merely turned away and pushed the door closed and and began trotting, every step pulled her closer to breaking down in tears.

“No!” her trot turned to gallop. “ ANGEL!” she screamed to the heavens through the thick tree canopies. Her lips began to quiver and eyes swelled but she quickly caught herself. The thoughts of her pet now passed before her eyes in a marathon as she took off into the air. She only knows of one pony who could possibly help her get angel back. One...person...

She turned to the horizon, gazing at the mountain range in the distance. In a flash of yellow and pink, she set off.
