As Twilight and her friends have defeated Discord and sealed him once again in stone Luna and Celestia look back on the past when the Manticorn of Chaos originally reared his ugly head and how that chaos stirred the pot to bring about Nightmare Moon.
Everypony knows how this ends but "half the journey is getting there". Inspired by the two songs of Ponyphonic.

Prologue

It was over. Twilight and her friends had saved Equestria once again, this time from Discord, the god of chaos and disharmony. But even though harmony had returned to Equestria the chaos had opened up an old wound for the Princess Celestia.

As night fell across the sky Celestia looked up at the stars above her.

“Your thinking about him aren’t you?” Princess Luna asked her sister.

There was silence. And then Celestia broke it, “How could I not dear sister?”

“It’s ill advised to open up an old wound. Especially one that’s one thousand years old.”

“I know.” Celestia said as she closed her eyes, “Have you ever…thought of him?”

“There has been many a night that he has enter my conscience.”

“Do you ever think things could have…ended differently?”

“Perhaps dear sister…if he had not been his true self, perhaps.”

“Do you miss him?”

“Not as much as I think you do my sister. Not as much as you do.”
