Equestria holds many secrets, secrets that changed the way it was ruled and those who inhabit it. Many remember the long war waged by Princess Luna, more commonly known before as ‘Nightmare Moon’, against her sister, Princess Celestia. Many lives were affected by this war. Many being the guards who battled under their favored ruler, following under Princess Celestia or Princess Luna.
We will follow ones story.
Chapter 1:
As night spread over Canterlot a silhouette emerged from the shadows. The figure was tall, and a horn could be seen when the moonlight struck against the black cloak the figure was wearing. As the figure moved swiftly and silently across the empty streets of Canterlot, a rustle was seen underneath the cloak as a pair of wings sprouted beneath it and flew over the city block, towards the city limits, walking far from it before removing their hood. There standing was Princess Luna herself, her mane swaying with the midnight breeze. Her face showed a hint of worry as she carefully navigated down the steep cliffside Canterlot was perched upon.
Princess Luna continued to navigate across the rocky terrain until she spotted a small hole in the mountains rock face and walked inside. Inside the cave it opened wider to show crystals covering the walls, before Luna went any further she stripped herself of her cloak to show a large spool with string on her back, she took the free end of the string and tied it around the crystal nearest to the entrance of the cave and began her journey forward in to the depths entering the Crystal Caverns. As she went deeper the cavern grew darker, making her rely on her horn by casting a spell of light so she was able to see. As her horns glow showed her each crystal, she observed every one of them closely.
“Where art thou…?” She spoke to herself with a curios tone as she walked.
Many hours had passed and Princess Luna was beginning to grow weary of her search, until her horns light reflected off a large crystal. Her eyes widened as a smile crossed her face, racing over to it. The crystal was round, but with what looked as if the edges were cut, as her horn shone against it, it glowed a bright blue. She neared the large crystal and pressed her hoof against the surface, running it against it rubbing the thin layer of weak and fragile quartz that covered its surface. As she did this a hoof was seen, embedded in the large crystal, Luna grinned as she used her magic to force the weak quartz off the entire surface of the crystal, she stood back and gazed at what was inside it.
Inside the crystal was a rather well built stallion, a Pegasus, he was fairly tall, his coat gleamed auburn red and his mane was an intermixed shade of light and dark brown. The stallions eyes looked focused on what was in front of him, frozen in place, they glowed an emerald green even after all his time stuck inside the crystal. But what Luna smiled about most was what he was wearing, he donned silver armor with dark blue engravings, his helmet carried a fade as it blended with the silver color, and his hoof guards faded from the many miles he might have traversed. He bore three items with him that made Luna press her hoof against the thick wall that blocked her from the stallion, He carried a thick gray shield, strapped to his left arm, a sheath on his back, and an elongated sword, the hilt of the blade in his mouth, looking as if it were ready to strike something, or someone, that he had not dealt the blow to.
But the main thing Luna saw from him was his stance. It was a stance that showed he knew what to do, he knew how to fight, and he knew how to kill. It showed in his eyes as well, an angry expression. He looked as if he was charging and suddenly, at the last moment, he tried to jump out of the way. She sighed at his imprisonment.
“We have finally found thou, Colonel, but for so long we hath had to wait, to find thou…” As she spoke this, she took a few steps back, her horn growing brighter as the light coming from it focusing towards the end of her horn. As she did this, she leaned forward and braced, she then shot a focused beam from her horn and into the crystal the stallion was trapped in. The walls echoed from the loud sound the beam made from when it hit, and the crystal shuddered, before a crack was heard and a fog emitted from the crack as it grew. The fog traveled across the ground and passed by luna. She shuddered as the fog was ice cold, dropping the temperature to where she could see her own breath, she started to shiver and clenched her teeth before seeing the crack grow, making several noises as it passed over the crystals surface, the crack finally made it around the entire surface and the crystal started to fall in two. Luna watched it fall apart almost as if it were in slow motion, and jumped slightly from the large thud the two halves made when the hit the ground.
Once the fog had dispersed, Luna walked forward to the center of where the crystal had just been to see the stallion still in his stance, frozen stiff. She looked closely and noticed as her breath was still being seen in its misty fog from the cold. She then took her horn and casted a spell, spreading a heat across the two. The stallion began to move, but not in reawakening, he simply fell on the ground, his sword clanking against the floor. Luna used her magic to place the sword back in its sheath and levitate the stallion into the air. She let the spool on her back fall to the floor, no longer needing it and began to follow the string trail she had left as a guide back to the entrance. She walked around the many corners and twists and turns she had made until she finally found the gleaming light of the moon shining from the cave. She looked at the stallion then laid him on the ground, pressing her ear against his chest and almost yelled out in joy as she heard his heartbeat, it was weak, but at least there was one.
She began to think about how to get him back to the castle and found no possible solution to hide him without drawing any attention, the guards would find him immediately. She looked outwards then saw Ponyville, its habitants sleeping; she smiled when she turned her head, seeing Sweet Apple Acres, for an idea had just formed in her head. She levitated the stallion up and flew down to the apple orchard, not noticing his sword falling off him into the passive green of the trees, and setting him in the center of a cluster of trees. She knew applebuck season was here and found this to be the perfect solution to her rather troublesome problem. Luna saw as the as the moon began to hit the horizon and flew back to Canterlot, looking back at the stallion one last time before entering the city limits and back to the castle.
The following day….
A rooster call was heard on the large settlement of Sweet Apple Acres, inside the home built on the settlement a figure rustled in her bed, a leather hat was seen laying on the headboard of the bed before an orange hoof grabbed it and sat up, placing it on her head and getting out of bed. She remade her bed neatly and walked over to a dresser where two ribbons were seen and tied them into a bow on her mane and tail, smiling in satisfaction. She opened her door and walked over to the next knocking on it loudly.
“You get yerself outta bed now ya hear Big Macintosh? Don’t wanna be late on Applebuck season do we?” She yelled past the door and stopped as she heard hoof steps on the wood floor, going to the next door and knocking on it “Applebloom! Time tah wake up!” She listened and only heard a mumbled groan and a creak of the bed, and she rolled her eyes and entered the room “Applebloom, its applebuck season an’ we have tah start bright n’ early to finish it on time” She watched as Applebloom got out of her bed and yawned “am’ up, am’ up, you cn’ stop yellin’ Applejack” she pushed a hoof against her inner ear and itched it a few times from Applejacks yelling.
Applejack gave an embarrassed laugh and patted Appleblooms back “c’mon, get yerself ready, cause its time for applebuckin’” She said before walking down the hallway, down the stairs, and out the door. She smiled and took a deep breath before walking to the where the apple trees started, seeing Big Machitosh already there with a piece of wheat in his mouth.
“Ya ready Big Mac?” Applejack asked
Big Macinstosh looked around and nodded “Eeyup”
They both started laying out wooden baskets and bucked one tree after another, finally seeing Applebloom joining them. “Sorry ah’m late!” she smiled and began setting the wooden caskets out so they could get more work done before seeing a glint in one of the trees and running over to it. Applejack noticed her running towards the direction and chased after her “Now what’re ya’ll doin? Were suppose tah be workin’” She looked at Applebloom, who saw her looking up at the tree they were standing in front of “Now what’re you lookin’ at…” She turned her head to see a sword in its sheath hanging by its strap in the tree, the sheath had small medallions located down its length and she tilted her head “Now how’d you get here?” She pulled at the sheath and her eyes widened at how light it was, she looked at applebloom “You keep working on getting those apple outta them trees lil’ sis, ah need tah go see twilight…”
Applebloom nodded and started bucking the trees as Applejack strappend the sheath around her midsection and marveled at how well it settled on her back, she shook her head and focused on getting to twilight and began a paced jog toward her home. “Twilights gonna love this….”
A half hour later Applejack arrived in Ponyville, greeting the many who walked by her, and noticing the funny glares at the sword and sheath strapped around her. She walked up to the library tree home Twilight lived in and opened the door.
“Twilight! Ah’ got somethin’ for ya’, ah’ think youll like it!” Applejack called out.
A call from another room was heard in response to Applejacks call out “Ill be right there!” A glow of light was seen and a purple unicorn appeared before her.
“Howdy sugarcube!” Applejack said cheerfully.
“Hello Applejack, what was it that you wanted me to see?” Twilight tilted her head curiously.
Applejack unstrapped the sword and held it out to Twilight for her to see. Twilights eyes widened as she rushed over to a bookcase, levitating books around “Ive seen that somewhere in one of my books but I cant remember which one- AHA!” She levitated the sheath, un-sheathing the blade and flipping through many of the pages of the book she found, stopping at the correct page “Ah, here we are, it has a name” She read through it “Its called ‘Winsheld’ a very light yet durable sword made for the many styles of swordsmanship, its sheath holds the medallions as rewards for the original owners actions, many towards guarding….royalty…” She looked at applejack “It says it was crafted just before the great war… 1,000 years ago, yet it looks like its brand new, where in Equestria did you find this?”
Applejack thought for a moment “Applebloom found it hangin from one of our appletrees on the farm…” she replied.
Twilight immediately used her magic and teleported her and Applejack back to Sweet Apple Acres, where they saw Applebloom talking to a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane, and a pink pony with a poofy mane style. Applebloom saw Twilight and Applejack and pointed at them, The pink pony hopped over to them as the blue one flew.
Applejack tilted her head “Howdy Pinkie, Rainbow…whatre ya’ll doin here?”
Pinkie exclaimed with a cheereful tone “I was watching this butterfly and it was like, ‘flap…flap….flap….’ and I was all like, ‘how do you do that…?’ and I walked right into Applebloom! Isn’t that right Rainbow Dash?” she giggled with a slight snort
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and crossed her hooves “Yeah, she did, hopped right into her. I was taking one of my naps on a cloud and heard the two hit eachother”
They all looked at each other before Pinkie Pie popped up behind Twilight, making her jump slightly “Heya Twilight! Whatcha got there?” she looked at the sheath and glared at the light reflecting off the medallions “ooooo~ shiny….”
Twilight looked at Pinkie and gave a light giggle, “It’s a very old sword” She was about to say more before Rainbow Dash snatched it and unsheathed it.
“Woah this puppy is light! But it sure doesn’t look very old to me” She swung it around a few times before a purple light surrounded it and took the items from her
“That’s what im trying to find out” Twilight said before she turned to Applejack, “Now show me precisely where you found this”
Applejack nodded and motioned a hoof for the ponies to follow her, they all did until AJ stopped and pointed at the tree, “Found it hangin right on the branch of mah appletree”
Pinkie Pie zoomed up to the tree and climbed around it like a squirrel “Nothing on this tree but a bunch of leaves!”
Rainbow and Applejack laughed as Twilight smiled and sarcastically rolled her eyes “Thank you for that observation Pinkie Pie”
“No problemo!” Pinkie gave a salute before falling out of the tree and reappearing by Rainbow Dash, startling her “So what now? Do we..” she pulls out a magnifying glass and looks at Rainbow Dash with it “Investigate?” Dash’s face let out an awkward look as Pinkie did this.
Twilight laughed and nodded “Something like that, if the sword was found here then there could be some evidence lying around nearby” She looked at Applejack “You continue on with your chores, the girls and I will take it from here”
Applejack nodded and walked away, and began bucking trees and letting the apples fall in their baskets.
Twilight looked at Pinkie, “Pinkie I need you to scan the ground and see if you can find anything that’s out of the ordinary”
Pinkie nodded with a bounce “Okie Dokie Loki!” She then plowed her face into the ground, smelling it and walking forward, right into a tree. She shook her head and went around it her eyes eyeing every blade of grass. Twilight laughed before looking at Dash.
“Rainbow Dash, I need you to scan the from the sky so you can get a birds eye view of the area and tell us if you see anything out of the ordinary”
Rainbow looked at twilight “What if I see Pinkie Pie?”
“Except Pinkie Pie”
Twilight watched as Rainbow Dash flew off and began her search for any evidence, she peaked her head out around each tree before she saw pinkie rise up beside her “I found something!” She hopped up and down “Uh…I mean…I found somepony!”
Twilight raised an eyebrow “What do you mean ‘somepony’?”
Pinkie grabbed Twilights hoof and began dragging her, “Ill show you! Rainbow Dash is already there!”
Twilight continued to get dragged by pinkie until they arrived at a small bunch of trees, Rainbow Dash being seen up ahead.
“So I think we found the guy who goes with the sword….” Dash said.
Twilight walked forward through the trees to see the armored stallion laying on the ground, unmoving. She quickly walked over to him and sat beside him, she leaned over and pressed her ear against his chest then back off holding the side of her head
“COLD!!” She rubbed the side of her head, warming it back up.
Rainbow Dash and Pinkie pie looked at each other, then tilted their heads, confused.
“He feels like an ice cube….” Twilight said to them
“Oo~! Can that ice cube be in a glass of lemonade? Im parched!” Pinkie said enthusiastically.
“There is no ice cube pinkie…” Dash rolled her eyes.
“Awwwwwwww…..”
“Don’t worry Pinkie you’ll get your lemonade, but we need to find some help getting this stallion some help” Twilight said.
They all looked at each other, knowing who to get and all spoke at the same time.
“Fluttershy”

So this is a remake, a very BIG remake of my orginal story, i decided to go with a more modern approach and made it more modern with a bit more comedy

Chapter 2:
As the day went by, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle carried the stallion to a small cottage just outside of the Everfree Forest. Twilight walked up to the door first and knocked on it, a small, gentle tone was heard in response.
“Who is it?....” the voice said shyly.
“Fluttershy, it’s Twilight, Pinkie and Rainbow, we have a…..uhm….well we have a pony you might want to see, may we come in?” Twilight replied unsure.
The door creaked open as a pink maned mare with a yellow body peeped her head out and saw the trio standing in front of the door, she opened the door further and looked at them confused “Where’s the pony you wanted me to see..?” She asked.
Twilight motioned Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash to move, as they did Fluttershy held a hoof to her mouth as she saw the unconscious stallion on the ground “Oh my goodness! What happened to him?” she quickly walked towards him and leaned down. Her eyes widened more as she saw the feint fog coming off him as the cold mixed with the warm air.
“We found him like this in the apple orchard…” Twilight said
“And he’s cold as an ice cube too!” Pinkie said with her usual perky voice
Fluttershy set one of her hooves gently on the stallion then immediately took it back at the ice cold feel he had. “Oh my…please help him inside, near the fire…”
They all helped each other carry the stallion inside Fluttershys cottage and set him by the fire. Fluttershy looked at his armor then cautiously took off his helmet. “Girls, could you please help me take off his armor?”
Twilight looked at Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie and nodded, they nodded in returned and helped unbuckle the many straps. Twilight took off the front hoof guards as pinkie took off the hind ones. Rainbow Dash heaved the main body piece off him and made a huff under its weight.
“How the heck do guards heave this armor on them ALL the time?” Rainbow Dash asked setting the armor on the floor.
Twilight looked at one of the hoof guards and looked up at Rainbow Dash “I don’t think this armor is modern like today…. This type of armor is a lot older than you know….look at the design, this is old Lunar Armor”
“That doesn’t answer my question Twilight…” Rainbow Dash said with a roll to her eyes.
“Well armor was made with heavier materials back then…”
“Woah…” Rainbow Dash looked at the stallion who was now undressed and laying by the fire
“He looks like a strawberry cupcake!” Pinkie said looking closely at his fur “He’s all red and stuff”
Fluttershy placed a blanket over the stallion and sat down beside him, watching over him.
“Fluttershy are you going to be alright?” Twilight asked.
Fluttershy looked back at Twilight and gave her a soft smile “Of course! I just want to make sure he’s alright when he wakes up…”
“Are we even sure he WILL wake up?” Dash asked
“Of course! He was breathing before his armor almost froze my ear off” Twilight replied.
“Just like an icicle! No wait! A giant ice cube! Or, or a blizzard! Or uhhhm…..” Pinkie began to trail off before they heard a low groan. They all turned and faced from where the groan originated. The stallions’ wings shuffled as water began to drip from them. Twilight, Rainbow, and Pinkie all looked at Fluttershy who was leaning back, looking at his wings with wide eyes, she looked back at Twilight with the same expression. Twilight motioned her to stay as she was as the stallion slowly got up and shuffled himself, his fur poofing up making him look twice as large and very soft.
Pinkie laughed and fell over, “He looks just like a teddy bear! Ahahahahaaa!!” She continued to laugh with a snort.
Fluttershy stiffened and looked at Pinkie, just as Twilight and Rainbow were doing the same thing, the stallions’ head popped up and slowly looked around seeing Fluttershy, his face showing distress and confusion. He held up a hoof to his side with a startled jump as Pinkie Pie slowly rose up beside him and held out a hoof.
“Hiya! I’m Pinkie Pie! What’s your name?” Pinkie said enthusiastically.
The stallion looked at Twilight who in returned glared back at him. He then looked at Fluttershy who yelped and jumped behind her couch, lastly he looked at Rainbow Dash who perceived to look as intimidating towards him as possible.
He looked at Pinkie Pie and slowly held out his hoof, shaking hers, “uuuhm….S-silver Blade ma’am…” his voice was rugged and deep yet gentle, but still had an authoritive feeling when he spoke.
“You remind me of a tree!” Pinkie giggled looking at his emerald green eyes that glowed slightly against the dark.
His eyes narrowed and looked at her “Thou ist a strange one, where art we at, Pinkie Pie?”
“We’re at Fluttersh-” Pinkie Pie was cut short as Rainbow Dash tackled her, covering her mouth and whispering in her ear “Don’t tell him where we are. He might be evil!” Pinkie nodded with her puppy eyes and made a muffled ‘okay’.
Twilight slowly walked up to Silver Blade “S-so….A-any idea on how you ended in Sweet Apple Acres?”
“Sweet Apple what? Thine hath never heard of such a place…” Silver tilted his head with a confused glance.
“We found you lying unconscious on the ground in the apple orchard…” Twilight looked at him. “W-what exactly happened?”
Silvers head rose slightly, “We were in the Chrystal Caverns…..We were defending the Princess from Celestia…”
All four of the girls immediately stopped what they were doing, sitting next to Twilight, Pinkie pushing them all over when she rammed into their sides. Silvers eyes widened as they did this and scratched his head.
“Was it something I said?”
Twilight got back up, and glared at Pinkie who shrugged with a giggle then turned her attention back to Silver “When you mean guarding the Princess from Princess Celestia, do you mean Princess Luna?”
Silver smiled and nodded “The one and only ma’am though thou ist known by a different, yet false, name” He growled.
“And what name was that Silver?” Twilight asked.
“Nightmare Moon…” Silver replied
Fluttershy sunk slightly when he said nightmare moon “y-you followed under her?” she said in a very soft voice. Rainbow Dash patted Fluttershys back to comfort her.
“Of course ma’am, we were great followers under thoust rule” He walked towards Fluttershy and leaned in, noticing how she cowered, he flapped his wings and patted her shoulder. As Fluttershy looked up at him he smiled, taking his hooves out and wrapping them around her as she screamed and began crying before realizing she was being hugged.
“I am sorry for thou distress ma’am…” He continued hugging her, “what ist thou name shy one?” He held her out, Fluttershy hanging off the ground and heard a slight growl as Rainbow Dash neared him.
“Put her down, I don’t wanna get rough on you” She spoke in a quivered but iron tone
He chuckled and looked at her, his eyes glowing lightly against the light “Rough on me? Thou ist a fairly stubborn mare, I am a Colonel of Lunas Guard, I didst not get thine rank for nothing” He laughed more before looking back at Fluttershy “I whilst not hurt thou, I merely would like to know thou name…” He spoke gently in effort to ease her distress.
Fluttershy looked at Silver in fear as she was held up and shut her eyes “Will you put me down if I do?” she said scared.
“But of cour-” Silver was cut off by Rainbow Dash.
“Who are you calling a stubborn mare!?” Rainbow Dash yelled at him, enraged.
Silver glared at her then looked at Twilight “Thou ist the smartest correct?”
Twilight looked around then nodded “I don’t want to brag but I am considered the smartest in Ponyville”
Silver set Fluttershy down and looked at Twilight “Ponyville? Ist thine in a different land? Or ist thine still in the land of Equestria?”
Rainbow Dash glared at Siler and stomped towards him before Pinkie Pie tackled her “Woah! We got ourselves a feisty one! Yee haw!” she laughed as Rainbow tried shaking her off before whispering in her ear “I don’t think you could do much against him right now and I think we would scare Fluttershy waaaaay to much”.
Rainbow Dash looked at Pinkie Pie with a surprised look, “Pinkie is there something wrong with you? Because you just made sense….”
Pinkie Pie giggled and shrugged “I have no idea what I was talking about…”
Twilight watched as Pinkie talked with Dash then turned her attention back to Silver whom was still waiting for the response to his question patiently.
“Well we are still in Equestria, but im confused, what do you think is happening right now?” Twilight asked, wondering if he thought he was still in his original timeline.
“What dost thou think ist happening? There is a war going on…” Silver replied quite calmly
“Why are you acting so calm?” Twilight asked.
“When one is in war, thou must think, nothing good comes out of making brash decisions, like thou rainbow maned friend, thou didst not think about her opponent, what may have happened. Thou must hath a calm mind and think before react”
Twilight gazed infatuated with what he said and smiled “You are a very knowledgeable guard Silver… but im afraid you are wrong when there is a war going on….”
Silver looked at her confused “what dost thou mean?”
“I mean there is no more war Silver; the war had ended, almost one thousand years ago…”
Silver staggered back, his heart beating faster “Impossible… we were there merely three days ago…where ist thines armor?”
Twilight looked at him then looked at Fluttershy “Fluttershy, may you please tell him where his armor is?”
Fluttershy shook her head quickly and huddled closer to a corner. Twilight walked over to her and pushed her up onto her hooves “I promise you he won’t hurt you, you are the one who put his armor away, show him where it is, I’ll be watching to make sure he doesn’t do anything wrong”
Fluttershy looked up at Twilight and nodded in a quivered fear, getting up and slowly walking past Silver whom followed close behind, Twilight watched them both closely and neared them as they walked up the stairs.
Fluttershy walked to the center of the second floor and showed him his armor; it was all neatly laid evenly, the hoof guards set beside one another in front of the body portion with the helmet laid a top of the piece. Silver smiled and patted Fluttershys back. “We thank thou Miss Fluttershy…” He picked up the helmet and pulled his mane back in a crude fashion before setting it atop of his head, he then picked up the body piece and buckled each latch on, he lastly slipped into his hoof guards and looked at Twilight with a serious expression.
“We hast to hath been gone longer than we originally thought... I trust thou words...miss....What ist thou name?” Silver looked at Twilight.
“I am Twilight Sparkle....” She replied
“AND I’M PINKIE PIE!!!” Pinkie said from the ceiling before falling onto the floor face first “oof!”
Silver leaned in and looked closely at Pinkie, “I see no horn yet thou hast walked on the ceiling....”
“Pinkie is Pinkie, she doesn’t need to have a horn to be magic...s-somehow....” Twilight replied
Silver continued to look at Pinkie “Outstanding....”
Pinkie giggled “You still talk funny!”
Silver popped his head up and looked at Twilight “Ist there something wrong with thines speech?” He asked
“There is nothing wrong with your speech Silver...is just a bit old fashioned...”
“Heck yeah to that” Rainbow Dash said, flying from the stairway to them.
Silver looked at all four of the girls and smiled “Maybe the four of thou might be able to help thine recognize thou new age...”
Twilight smiled “We would be happy to help! Right girls?”
Pinkie nodded exhilaratingly, “Yeah! Oooo~! This is so exciting! I should have made cupcakes!”
Rainbow Dash crossed her hooves and blew back her mane “yeah, I guess it would be kinda cool to show you our stuff” She held in her excitement to show him her dare devil moves.
Fluttershy cowered back and looked at them “W-when did I agree to this?”
Pinkie giggled “Since you lead him to get his shiny stuff silly!”
Fluttershys ears dropped “o-oh my...”
“Before we go, may we ask what hast happened to thines sword and shield?” Silver asked, confused.
They all looked at eachother then back at Silver, “You have a shield?” They asked at the same time, except Fluttershy, who was still overwhelmed with all that has happened.
Twilight was about to speak before her ears dropped and looked at the ground “We...we kind of left your sword at Sweet Apple Acres on accident...”
Silver looked at Twilight and stood there for a moment, “I believe an accident is alright ma’am, thou shall be forgiven, please lead me to.....erm...Sweet Apple Acres”
Twilight nodded as she teleported all whom were in Fluttershys cottage, to Sweet Apple Acres.
