Nightmare in Ponyville

Very high up in the sky Ponyville just being a small sized speck, Twlight and Trixie were flying together in the hot air balloon heading to Sweet Apple Acres. So who is this Applejack you speak so fondly of, she sounds like some kind of hick to me Trixie said. Would it kill you to say someone nice to somepony at least once in a while? Twilight said. I am just saying at least from what you told me you know southern accent, works on a farm and probably makes wicked good moonshine oh and not to mention she probably does this with her big brother, whats his name, Making a bulge in one of her cheeks she made a back and forth towards her mouth with one of her hooves making sure to bulge her eyes out of her head while making gagging noises for added effect. For fucks sake Trixie is there any need of that seriously ?!!? , Twilight glaring at Trixie while gritting her teeth in aggravation. Well look at that there is Sweet Apple Acres now Twilight said, reducing the flame in the balloon the craft slowly starting to lose altitude making the farm appear closer and closer. Finally after a few minutes the hot air balloon touched ground, upon landing she sees a familiar sight, the old farmhouse and the large barn had been used to seeing for years on end.

Trixie and Twilight climbing out of the balloon start walking towards the farmhouse. Trixie do you promise to behave yourself this time, Applejack does not really take kindly to being smart talk or ponies that go out of their way to make a fool out of themselves Twilight said. Yeah yeah whatever I promise Trixie said waving her hoof in the air.

Upon reaching the farmhouse door Twilight loudly knocked on the door several times, After a short pause, a beaming pony with reddish mane and a light yellow coat opened the door. Hey there Applebloom do you know where I can find your sis Applejack? Twilight asked Applebloom. Why she’s in the barn tending to some secret project of hers of something Applebloom shrugged. Thanks I will go see her in the barn then Twilight said. No problem and by the way tell Applejack I have her favorite apple pie ready for her Applebloom then closed the door shut.

Trotting toward the barn away from the house alongside the purple unicorn Trixie said “secret project” huh I wonder what that means she smiled mischievously. Twilight shooting Trixie a dirty look said don’t get any funny ideas whatever it is she most likely doesn’t want you messing with it. Reaching the barn door Twilight knocked on it at least several times, hey it’s me Twilight are you in there Applejack? After a short pause she heard a familiar voice say c’mon in partner.

Upon walking into the door she notices countless dozens of plants all of them having lamps shining a very bright light over them. Hey there Applejack said beaming at Twilight I have something to show ya. Oh who is this, a new friend of yours looking over at Trixie, well nice to meet ya partner how do ya like the ol farm grabbing Trixie’s hoof and shaking it quite firmly. Yeah nice to meet you too, Trixie said hesitantly and I don’t know this is the first time I been around these parts. Say you look kinda familiar, ah do remember seein ya somewhere before but ya don’t ring a bell.

This is Applejack, Applejack this is Trixie said Twilight trying her best to sound friendly about introducing her seemingly arrogant follower to one of her friends. Applejack suddenly glared at Trixie, Ah knew you were familiar, I am watchin ya very closely ya hear, I aint gonna be havin none fer trouble from ya got it. Whatever Trixie said rolling her eyes, what is this so called secret you are blabbering on about anyway farmergirl. Ya know Sugarcube I would like it just fine if you just called me by name Applejack said.

So Applejack did you hear anything from Rainbow Dash it has been awhile since I have heard anything from her Twilight said. Applejack gritting her teeth her eyes filled with a pained expression turned from the two of them. Why If I could kill her with my bare hooves I would do so, but she spends all her time up in Cloudsdale doin who knows what up there

Applejack trotting over to one of plants that was under a light said Zecora gave me some of these strange seeds a couple of months ago and I tells ya Twilight did she ever give me the oddest set of instructions. I aint never had to grow stuff like this before not to mention the smell will knock you right off you hooves, have a smell Twilight maybe you read a few books somewhere about these. Twilight approaching the strange plants noticed something about these plants they had a greenish tint with orange veins and looking at it from different angles she noticed tiny shiny crystals sparkling from it. Taking a sniff of it she felt herself get dizzy slightly as this very strong mix of a sour yet slightly fruity odor hit her senses.

Applejack noticing Twilights reaction chuckled and said apparently from what Zecora told me she uses this stuff in a lot of her potions apparently it is pretty potent stuff. She told me it was her “finest” stuff; however I find it odd why she wanted me to have it. Trixie taking a few steps over to the one of the plants took a good long sniff of one of the plants. With a huge grin she looked over at Applejack and Twilight then said holy shit these are good, how much can I get for 200 bits worth? Hold on Trixie you know what these plants are since when did you study botany anyway? Twilight asked puzzled. Well duh of course I know what these are, I seen these grown all the time in my hometown but I have never seen anything of this quality grown Trixie said.

Hold on there a minute partner where do you think you are getting all the bits for such a large purchase like that anyway? Applejack said. Does it even matter anyway, so long as you get the bits and some of these are taken off your hooves why do you care Trixie said. Yeah and I will believe it when I see it, til then Sugarcube all I see is talk Applejack said.

Hey Applejack I think it is about time I get going, it’s been nice visiting you Twilight said. Nice to see ya drop on by and visit, feel free to drop by again anytime I might have a nice apple pie with your name on it. Oh and by the way I would keep a close eye on that Trixie gal if I were you she seems like trouble Applejack said. Yeah I know about that more than you think Twilight said groaning out loud.

Closing the door behind her after Trixie left the barn behind her Twilight stopped and looked at Trixie. I find it odd how somepony like you has knowledge of something I don’t have much knowledge of, care to explain that to me and what really leaves me dumbfounded is why you take so much interest in such a plant that you put so much bits into it Twilight said. I think I will explain that later when we are out of earshot of farmergirl Trixie said.

Upon reaching the hot air balloon Twilight used her magic to fire up the flame on the hot air balloon then Trixie and Twilight climbed in and set off for Fluttershys cottage.
