Chapter One

The stars are so bright, even now without the princesses monitoring them. They really light the dark landscape. They also served another purpose those fear filled eves: guiding us to safety. The foals were too tired to trudge another step so we laid out on the ground. We stayed there the next day, the shadows being our only friends and our only food being a few wild berries that I recalled were safe from a badge I earned when I was a filly scout.
