Shadowpony

Narrator speaks with a foreshadowing voice:
There is a darkness rising, and this darkness is to be stopped by things ponies never resort too, pure violence. There are special ponies picked out of all the populations to stop these acts of evil. These characters usually get their power from their hobbies or interests. This is one pony’s story. In matter of fact, let’s cut to him right now…
Narrator disappears and cuts to a shadowy figure:
This figure is in a stalking position on a spire in the tallest buildings of Manehattan. It is the dead of midnight, one might ask, “why is a pony out here?” The figure disappears seeming to sink down into the outcrop of the building. All that’s left is a dark, thick shadow of seemingly nothing. The shadow comes to life as it moves across the building’s protection rail made out of brick. It moves without hesitation, as if following someone. The scene pans to the target of the shadow.
The target is on its daily watch, reconing the area of suspicious activity in the dead of night. It doesn’t notice that it is followed. This target seems to get that feeling that you’re being followed. In the background the shadowpony as we call him for now is jumping off the building about to “neutralize” the threat. The target looks back with that sense of danger, he screams but it is muffled but the captor’s hoof. The captor takes off its cloak, choking the target to death, than the two sink down into the now empty street, not a trace to be found. Only the buildings surrounding the scene know what happened. The shadow moves north of its location, out of view.
1 month and 1 day ago: (with those transformers style date/time tellers)
A seemingly unrelated scene happens as a pony walks through a busy library. Muffled speech echoes through the one floor library. It is big as a public middle school. The scene pans to one pony in particular. This pony is a grey unicorn with a blue polo shirt and black jeans. It has straight, red grey hairstyle. It has a blue watch, green glasses, and a black one strap backpack. It is rummaging through the human mythology section. Picking a book out a book called “Shadow people of North America”. Holding the book in hoof, he moves out of the selection of stories and to the check out. The librarian sees that the pony is checking out and asks,” are you ready sir?” He replies,” here is the book I want to check out, and here is my library card.” The card name reads, “Inkwell” The librarian checks out the book and says,” here is your book, its due in three weeks. Have a nice day!” Inkwell walks out of the red brick library and goes home.
Inkwell walks outside the building and puts his book into the black one strap. He goes down the stairs, and makes a run for it home. He finally makes it to his town house. Well, it’s not really a townhouse; it only has 1 floor, one bathroom 1 bedroom, the usual house for one pony accommodation. Inkwell thinks to himself, I really should eat now, its 6:00 pm. He takes out a bowl of cereal and pours milk in it. Gets a spoon using unicorn magic and sits down on his couch to watch some TV and eat. He turns on the TV to see the news. The Anchor says,” Here are some of the top stories for the day.” A list of stories come on,” Doomsday is coming, cat tries to kill owner, buttons are banned in griffin territory, and finally, what you may find disturbing on the internet.” Just goes to show you how uneventful life is sometimes. He seems surprised to see how many stories are dumb but seems interested on the doomsday article. Inkwell goes to his room and looks up the story on the internet. He notices to find that there is a gang lead by an unknown terrorist wreaking the streets of Ponyville and Manehatten.
He says while searching,” I don’t care as long as this doomsday has to do with me.” He turns off the computer and walks back to the TV and his now soggy cereal. Inkwell has tons of time on his hands and its only 1:00 pm. “Maybe I’ll mess up my entire schedule and get started on my new book.” He gets his schedule off the kitchen fridge and rips it with powerful unicorn magic. He grabs his book than starts reading (please read link its important to the story + this is where I got the idea for the story)
Half an hour later:
Inkwell wakes up from his hypnosis of words and parchment. He checks the time. He rubs his eyes… he jumps into action. “Oh my Celestia! I’m late!” (Another thing, he volunteers at an after school program called the “Big Apple”. It was a program for elementary and middle school students, it is multipurpose so it’s hard to describe.) He rushes off with his messenger bag, jacket, and glasses. He leaves his book behind on the couch.
The Stallion makes it to the place. He walks in right as the student’s now arriving say,” Hi uniform.” That’s their nickname for him; he seems to accept it for some reason. He signs into the volunteering section. Everybody is outside at the moment so he was able to take a breather before going outside. After a minute or two, Inkwell steps outside to a yard, one basketball court, a couple of seats, and a little table for the trading card kids. It was right next to a street so the car’s horn, the screech stops, etc. is usual her at the Yard. He meets the other volunteers and employees. He meets one volunteer, Stalwartheart was on his name badge (for pic see my profile picture) He was a pretty nice guy, he had his flaws though, like he had a pretty bad temper, wants to change his own self image to sound dark and mysterious, but he’s okay. Inkwell knew that you can’t hide your own personality, and Stalwart will find out in due time. Inkwell and Stalwart had ties back into high school and college, so the introducing was over before it began.
There was the usual hi and hello and then the conversations began. They caught up with each other and played with the kids. They played Pokemans with the trading card kids, talked with the usual people, in the tables, finally, they play hoof ball on opposite teams with the middle-scholars. It was time to go back inside. Inkwell had a job on homework checking and name tags. Inkwells’ job practically screamed Check homework and pass nametags to kids. So it was rather boring.
