Life in a Shadow

Some where in the Cantorlot castle Princess Celestia was busy. She was always busy, reading letters from Twilight, helping ponies with problems, or going to a fancy party. But Princess Luna, Luna was never busy. All she did was watch over the night. Nothing happens in the night. Ponies were asleep or looking at the stars or working late. In the day time ponies played, worked, or had parties. Luna was board with the night, she wanted something more exciting. The thing that Luna was most was jealous and you could see it on her face. Luna was jealous of her sister always being the one in the spotlight. Luna was tired of living in  her sister's shadow. "I'm just as good of a princess as she is," Luna told her self every morning, "and I'm going to prove it." When Celestia was sleeping and Luna was watching over the night she went to ponies dreams to see if anyone was having a nightmare. When the night was almost over Luna decided to look at one more pony then give up. She went in her dream and saw that she was running and screaming. The pony looked at Luna and before she could say anything she woke up. Luna was back at the Cantorlot castle in her room, she looked over to the window and saw the sun rising. Luna had forgotten that she'd been nightmare chasing all night and was soon fast asleep. Then Princess Celestia came in and tucked her sister into bed.

On the other side of Equestria in a town called New Hortsville a filly Alicorn named Black Rose was in the play room with her twin sister White Rose. Black Rose had the same problem as Luna did. She was always living in her sister's shadow, White Rose was always in the spotlight. The Rose twins did everything together but Black Rose was always the one who was never noticed. It was like she was the glass wall in the family, always invisible to everypony. Even at the family reunions White Rose was always getting more attention then she was. "I'm not invisible," Black Rose told her self every morning, "and I'm going to prove it." When White Rose was sleeping and it was night time Black Rose thought of all her fears and the worst things that ever happened to her. Then she drifted to sleep, but in stead of a dream she had a nightmare. Black Rose was running and screaming like she wanted to get away from somepony. Then she saw Luna standing there but before she could say anything her alarm clock woke her up. Black Rose had forgotten that she was up all night thinking of scary things and soon fell right back to sleep. Then White Rose came in and tucked her sister in to bed.
