Star Gazer is one of those kinds of ponies that are completely obsessed over space. As a matter a fact, I think he's the only pony so obsessed over space he's willing to sleep all day so he can watch it at night. One night in particular, the comet known as "Laythe" comes by. When he goes to set up his telescope so he can study the comet, he realizes that only one other pony is there. After a bit of a chat, the pony asks him if he can help her re-organize her books, because she wants to talk about the comet. Other than the science community, this is the first pony he has actually talked to. If you hadn't guessed it by now… it's Twilight. He told her that he'd follow, but only because of the chat about the comet. This is where things get a little more interesting.
