To make it into the Wonderbolt Academy is an achievement in itself. Only the best flyers get in, and that's what the cadets are determined to prove themselves as. Flitter and Rumble are so proud of their siblings being able to enter the academy, but Rumble feels bitter without his brother beside him. Flitter strives to gain the colt's affection, unable to measure up to her more successful friends.

Meanwhile, the pegasi at the Academy are struggling to keep up with the rigorous demands of Spitfire, and their own competition. It is enough to make the strongest of athletes think twice, and enough to break those unprepared. There's no limit to improvement when challenges aren't just addressed, but embraced.
