//-------------------------------------------------------// Envious -by safarisafarisafari- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// One //-------------------------------------------------------// One Trixie was sneaking alongside the walls. The rest of the palace was fast asleep, including Twilight Sparkle. Her horn was already glowing with powerful magic, ready to force magic onto any object or being. Trixie carefully opened the door, a small creak erupting from it. She held her breath, hoping that Twilight wouldn't wake up in the night, but stay fast asleep, an easy victim. Right as she came upon Twilight's bedside, Trixie raised her horn up into the air, closing her eyes. She could feel all of her magic coming right from her horn. "That's for stealing the Princess away from me!" Trixie neighed loudly, forgetting that she had to stay quiet. "Trixie, my student! What are you doing to Twilight Sparkle?" yelled a even more powerful voice. Trixie began to stomp her hooves in anger and whipped around to face Princess Celestia. Her face suddenly started glowing with anger. She yelled for her guards, and soon, the same two guards who led Twilight Sparkle into the palace for the first time were beside the Princess. Before Trixie disappeared in a flash of green dust, she took a glimpse of Twilight Sparkle. The filly was mortified. That was years ago. Now I'm just a magician following along on the paths of Equestria. Many ponies call me foolish, but they would have thought more of me if I ever told them that story. They'd call me stupid for ruining my chance of possible fame and fortune. Princess Celestia was a great mentor, but Twilight Sparkle had easily stolen her away from me. My magic deteriorated, as well as my love for the Princess. That's the only reason why Twilight Sparkle was able to defeat that astronomic bear or whatever the thing was. I'm just as faithful as she was. I saw a sign up ahead that proclaimed the town of Trothollow. It had a rather large population, so this was a good town to show my magic off to. I hurried along, pulling my cart into the town square. Ponies didn't really stare at me, as there were crazy manes and outfits. I took a big huff and positioned myself in the center, manifesting a large stage just for me and my tricks. I climbed up onto it, shouting my large introduction as I did everyday. "Come one, come one and all! Here you can see my magic, performed by the Great and Powerful Trixie!" Quickly, ponies gathered. I performed a few harmless tricks just to get them carried into my show. Now it was time for the big finale. Twilight Sparkle had set me off too much by stealing my mentor and embarrassing in front of Ponyville. She would pay for this tremendous, contagious spell. "You, little filly! Come up onto the Great and Powerful Trixie's podium, and Trixie shall release the Pinkie spell upon your wonderful soul!" I yelled at a filly. Her eyes widened with excitement and she trotted right beside me. I stomped my hooves and a bit and placed my horn onto her forehead. I mumbled the words of the Pinkie spell. I had created it right after Celestia made me disappear in a flash of green dust. It was named after that irritating Pinkie Pie in Ponyville. I had it placed in spell-books before ever performing it. It apparently was a spell of excitement and happiness, but that was a big lie. Once the magic grew over the filly, she became damp and frowning. Her beige body was soaked in blandness. The crowd's shocked faces quickly turned into frowning ones as well when the filly stepped down from the stage and touched her friend's shoulder. I grinned as the tedious feeling ran from pony to pony. Then I saw a clean pony with a elegant outfit. It was the mayor! Her eyes were wide and she galloped off towards who knows where. I leapt off my soon-vaporized stage and bolted out of town, my hooves moving like when I saw Twilight Sparkle for the first time. //-------------------------------------------------------// Two //-------------------------------------------------------// Two Twilight Sparkle calmly sat on the rug of her well kept library. A few countless books had been scattered around her, but she made a list in her head to clean it up after she had finished her studies for the day. Spike was taking a nap in his bed right beside her, and the library seemed oddly quiet. Every few minutes, you could hear the twinkle of Twilight's magic moving the pages. "Oh, Twilight! TWILIGHT!" called a familiar, dramatic voice. Twilight rolled her lavender eyes and turned her head to see the fashionista's wide set eyes gazing right at her. "Yes, Rarity?" Twilight answered, chuckling quietly. Rarity had been known for overreacting and making ordeals too dramatic. Twilight Sparkle definitely was not worried by whatever the ivory pony was going to say next. "Twilight, Trixie has returned, and she's turned an entire town into MISFITS! Misfits, I tell you!" Rarity screeched. Her voice became high and Spike woke up quickly due to the agonizing sound. Twilight's face dropped into a bundle of shock and horror. Why had Trixie come back? She was lying and boasting about all the things she couldn't do, so what made her think returning to make another great fuss would be alright? But Twilight managed to understand that Rarity had said misfits, and that was probably a translation for something horrible. She quickly swept up her saddlebag in a hurry, leaving her mess on her beautiful rug. It made her twitch and stress, but she had worse things to worry about. Trixie had come back with a bigger intent than taking the lead of the town's head unicorn. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue The blue filly leapt with happiness and joy. The Princess had sent her to get her most essential spell-book. It was in her lovely, bright dorm. This blue filly's name was Trixie. She could already see the wonderfully beautiful lights shining out from the space underneath her door. Her hooves almost began to float into the air she was so nervous. And then came the long ding-dong and ring of the palace door opening, and Trixie couldn't help herself. She bolted to the top of the stairs, her legs flying like scared crows on a train track. Trixie finally redeemed her curiosity and saw the figure of a younger filly than herself accompanied by two large guards. She was at the bottom of the staircase and she too spotted the other filly. The guards led her up the elegant stairs, the plants at the sides trimmed with absolute perfection. Each tremendous step meant one inch closer to the filly. When they finally became face-to-face, they started squealing like the little fillies they were. "Hi there, I'm Trixie!" the blue-colored filly said, ignoring her possible immaturity and over-the-top happiness. "Twilight Sparkle! Nice to meet you," the other filly responded. She had a school cut mane and brilliant lavender coat. Trixie couldn't wait for the adventures with this filly, since if she didn't stay in the palace the blue filly would chase after her all over town anyways. Her maturity and sparkling eyes could be pointed out in any crowd of long-winded foals. "I'm the royal apprentice of Princess Celestia," Trixie replied, trying to erupt a royal and mature conversation between them. "Me too. We can be apprentices together and learn cool magic, like how to put a mustache on a dragon!" Twilight neighed, stomping her hooves energetically. Mustaches on dragons? Trixie liked this pony. A lot. Maybe even a little too much.
