//-------------------------------------------------------// Something Special -by ponymon73- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Derpy //-------------------------------------------------------// Derpy My tears swept across my face as I flew to Ponyville. I wiped them away with my hoof. Not paying attention, I flew right into a mail pony. "Ouch!" I said. I rubbed the big red mark on my forehead. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I just don't know what went wrong!" She said. I shook my head, "No, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention. You see, I'm going to Ponyville," I explained. "Your going to Ponyville? Well let me show you the way!" The greyish coated mare said. She took off in the same direction I came from. I rolled my eyes and went back to flying. "Hey! Where are ya going?" The yellow maned pony said. "Ponyville is," She paused, "Where is Ponyville?" I smacked my hoof on my forehead. "What is your name?" I asked her. The mare thought. I smacked my forehead again. This wonky-eyed mare was useless! I started back off to Ponyville. "I'm Derpy Hooves! But you can call me Derpy," She told me. It's like she waits for me to get back on track. "Derpy, huh? I'm BluBerry Muffin," "Muffin!" Derpy shouted. "Your name is Muffin! I love muffins!" She flew in a circle. "Ok-ay then. Good-bye!" I flew off as fast as I could. But she flew right in front of me. "Wait! Please don't go!" She said. Her eyes were full of sorrow, and a hint of silliness. "You see, I don't have very many friends. Everypony always shouts at me, and I never know what I did! Please, will you be my friend?" she said. I sighed, "If I say yes will you take me to Ponyville?" I inquired. Derpy's face lit up. "So you will be my friend?" She asked. "I guess there's no way out of it," I sighed. "Yay!" Derpy exclaimed. She grabbed my hoof and took off with me in her grasp, before I could say anything. "Hey, Derpy. Can you loosen your grip on my hoof?" I said. My hoof ached, after more than fifteen minutes of flying. Noticing her error (for quite possibly the first time) she let my pain-filled hoof go. I fly swiftly beside her. "Hey, Muffin?" She said, after a few minutes of silence. "Derpy, you can call me BluBerry or Blu. But NOT Muffin. Please," I said. Muffin is my Dad's name to call me, and only him. "Oh, ok. Sorry Muff- I mean Blu," she said. "I just wanted to tell you that Ponyville is right here," I must have been to wrapped up in my thoughts that I didn't notice her stop. I was about twenty feet ahead of her. "Oh. Heheh, sorry," I said, turning around. As I approached the end of the cloud covering it, I thought about New Clopsdale. I hope that it's okay. "Whoa!" I exclaimed. Ponyville was bustling with ponies. Earth ponies, unicorns, and even some pegisi where trotting around. "It's so busy!" I said. Derpy nodded. "Isn't great? So busy, and full of nice ponies," She said. Then she stopped flapping her wings. "Derpy! You're gonna fall if you don't flap!" I pointed out. She giggled, "I know. I'm making my signature entrance!" Derpy said, just before plummeting. "What in Celestia, is wrong with this pony?" I said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Making Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// Making Friends I fluttered down from the baby blue sky. My magenta and purple colored mane swept in front of my face. I shyly landed. As soon as my hoof touched down a lavender unicorn stepped out of the crowd. "Hello!" She said kindly. "I'm Twilight Sparkle. What's your name?" I blushed, being a shy pony. "I'm BluBerry Muffin. But you can call me Blu," I whispered. Twilight giggled. "No wonder Derpy introduced you. Your name has Muffin in it!" Derpy smiled brightly. Her eyes more wall-eyed than before. "How about I show you around Ponyville?" The unicorn said. Derpy, clearly wasn't to pleased with this, "No, Twilight! I want to show her around!" Twilight looked sternly at Derpy, "You still have your mail duties to tend to!" She pointed at the mail bag around her neck. Derpy gave a look of disappointment. "You can show her all the available houses when your through!" Twilight reasoned. The yellow mane mare nodded enthusiastically. She shot off like a bullet, and then ran it to a cloud. I giggled. "So! Where should I begin?" Twilight said. "Could you show me your friends? I'd love to meet them," I suggested. Twilight nodded. When turned onto a well used dirt path. "Let me show you where Applejack lives. She is the most honest pony you'll ever meet! For she is the Element of Honesty," The lavender unicorn said. I smiled. On our way here, Twilight told me about how she and her friends saved Equestria using the Elements of Harmony. We approached an apple orchard. "Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres!" Twilight said. I spotted a red stallion working in the fields. "Boy howdy! Twilight, did y'all go'n find y'all self a new friend?" said a tangerine mare. She wore a cowboy hat and her cutie mark was three red apples. Twilight nodded. "This is BluBerry Muffin," the unicorn said. "But you can call me Blu," I said. "What's your name?" The earth pony smiled. "Ah'm Applejack. You can call me AJ," she smiled. I smiled back, "Nice to meet you AJ," Applejack smiled a friendly smile. Twilight whispered something in AJ's ear. "Okay, Twi. Ah'll see y'all 'round!" AJ said and waved good-bye. I waved back. Twilight escorted me back into Ponyville. We stood outside a sweet shop. "This is where you'll meet Pinkie Pie. She is the Element of Laughter. And that title suits her well!" Twi said. We walked in and a little bell above me rang. A bushy maned earth pony dashed to greet us. "Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Who are you?" she said. She talked so fast I couldn't keep up. "I'm BluBerry Muffin. But please, call me Blu," I said. My head was spinning from the question bomb the pink mare dropped. Twilight whispered to Pinkie, quite possibly the same thing she whispered to AJ. Pinkie gasped dramatically. She zipped off somewhere. "It's her natural reaction. You'll get used to it. Now, we still have Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash to meet!" Twilight said. We exited the sweet shop and trotted off to Fluttershy's house. "Hello, Fluttershy!" Twilight said. We have arrived at a hospitable cottage. A yellow Pegasus was planting flowers in her front lawn. "Hello, Twilight," she said. Her voice was so soft I could barely hear her. "This is BluBerry Muffin. She's new here," I smiled shyly, I hid behind my mane. "You can call me Blu," I said. Fluttershy smiled. "I can tell that we'll make good friends, Blu," she said. A cute little bunny hopped out in front of her. "What a cute little bunny!" I said. I fluttered my speckled wings. "Thank you. His name is Angel," Fluttershy said. "Oh, I love your wings! They are so unique!" She said. I blushed, "Thanks. That's what my dad says," Twilight rolled her eyes. "Let's go, Blu. Next is Rarity's house," she said. She whispered in Fluttershy's ear and then we left. My hooves got tired so I started to fly. We approached a house that looked like a carousel. "This is the Carousel Boutique. Rarity lives here. I flew in, and a bell jingled again. "Watch your head, dear," I white unicorn said. "Wow! What beautiful wings you have! So designer and blue! Out of curiosity, is your favorite color magenta?" she said. I nodded, "How did you know?" I asked. The unicorn pointed to my wrist. I pair of magenta bangles lay there. "Oh," I said. "I'm BluBerry Muffin, but I'd be charmed if you called me Blu," I said. Rarity curtsied. "I'm sure Twilight told you my name all ready," she said. She disappeared into a room. When she came back she held up a magenta dress with a pearl dazzled neckline. "This is for you darling! No charge, since your new," Rarity said, and handed it to me. I blushed, "Thank you! I love it," I threw it on. My wings slipped through the holes. "It's made just for a Pegasus like you!" She said. I blushed a thank you. Twilight whispered the same thing again, and we departed. "Twilight, why do you keep whispering?" I asked. She looked up at me. "No reason. Can you pick me up?" she asked. I looked at her. "Umm... I can try," I grabbed her midsection and tried to lift her up. I groaned and she only got an inch off the ground. "I guess not. Well, looks like I have to do this the hard way." Twilight said. Suddenly, her horn glowed purple. There was a flash and a BOOM! I covered my eyes. Then the glowing disappeared. "What happened?" I asked. "I cast a spell that makes me walk on clouds. Now I'm going to teleport," She said. A humming noise filled the air. There was another flash and Twilight was gone! "Twilight! Where did you go?!" "Up here!" she said. She was sitting on a cloud. I flew up to meet her. "Now we can meet Rainbow." A cyan blue Pegasus landed on the cloud we where on. "Hi Twilight!" she said. "Whose the new pony?" "I'm BluBerry Muffin. But you can call me Blu," I said. "You must be Rainbow Dash. Nice to meet you!" I said. The rainbow maned pony smiled. "And you too, Blu!" she laughed. "Did Rarity make that dress?" she pointed. I nodded. "It's pretty cool! Hey, sometime we need to get together and race," Rainbow said. She got low to the cloud. "Your on!" I said. Twilight whispered to Rainbow Dash. No surprise there. "Sounds like fun!" Rainbow said. Twilight shushed her. "Well good-bye, Rainbow! See you later!" I said, and took off. Twilight teleport to the ground. "Now, you go meet up with Derpy at the Sweet Shoppe. Then, swing by the library once you find a house. See you later!" Twilight said. "Bye!" I said, and flew to the Sweet Shoppe. //-------------------------------------------------------// Brindledale Pony //-------------------------------------------------------// Brindledale Pony Morning. The most dreaded time of the day. I pulled myself out of my bed. It welcomed me back underneath my cozy sheets. "Oh why can't I just sleep in?" I said, "Just for one day. One measly day!" I fluttered my speckled wings. I trotted into the kitchen, where mom was fixing blueberry pancakes. "Good morning, BluBerry! How are you, my muffin?" she said. Her voice as soft as cotton. I looked at her with my do-you-really-have-to-ask face. She smiled and said, "Cheer up, Blu! There's a break in the war today. Which means your father may come home!" She went back to flipping the pancakes. I slowly perked up, "Which means there's no school!" Mom nodded. "Which also means I can go back to sleep?" She nodded once more. I was in the air in a heartbeat. My wings flew me to my bed. Snuggling under the blanket my grandma made. My eyes closed and I was sound asleep. Or at least, I wanted to be. My weary body wouldn't cooperate with my now active brain. I sighed. I pulled back my blanket. The lovely blanket that kept me warm, ever since I received my cutie mark. A blueberry muffin. My mother giggled when she heard me trotting down once more. "Oh shush, you," I said. I half-fluttered into the living room. The door to our little home opened the moment I sat down. "Dad!" I shouted. I flew into his loving hooves. "I missed you, Dad," His big greyish coat was stained with mud, and you could barely see his Army hat cutie mark. "I missed you too, Muffin!" he said. He always calls me by my other name. BluBerry Muffin, a name I basically chose. My parents couldn't think of one, until they saw my eating a blueberry. Where the Muffin part came from is beyond me. "I need to talk to your mother, okay? Then we can go play some catch!" Dad said. I nodded, my face still adorned with a grin. It could've split right then and there, it was so big. Dad walked to the kitchen. His one good wing up high and proud. His right wing was lost in an in-flight combat. That tattered wing was the thing that kept me close to home. It taught me that the world is full of danger. I love my brown speckled wings to much. Dad always said they were special. "I have never seen any wings more beautiful than yours," he said. When Dad got back he had the flying disc. I flicked my magenta and purple tail. "Yay!" I said ecstatically. Dad threw it out the door for me to catch. I zoomed out of the house, rustling loose papers. I threw it back to him. After about five minutes, I tired. Dad did too, and we collapsed in a heap on the ground. I started giggling. Then laughing. All of a sudden, Dad and I were laughing so hard, we couldn't breathe. Then Dad looked sad. So sad it frightened me. I stopped laughing. He tried to be brave, as if he was going back to war. "Muffin, I have to tell you something," he said, his happy tone replaced with sorrow. "It's about the war. It's getting worse, and it's starting to spread to the town. King Hardburo has issued a command, that all girl Pegasus must be-," "Sent off to war?" I interrupted him. He shook his head, "No. They must be...sent...away. To a place called Ponyville," I gasped. "A-away? To Ponyville?" I said. I almost started to cry. Dad slowly nodded, "Yes. I'm sorry Muffin. It wasn't my doing." I knew that, being a soldier's daughter, I needed to stay strong. I accepted the terrible news. "O-okay, Dad. I'll go," Tears built up in me like water behind a dam. "That's my brave little Muffin. I'll send you letters and photos anytime I can. I promise," Dad said. "I love you, Daddy," I said. I hugged him for the last time. My shoulders heaved up and down, as I silently cried. "Good-bye, Muffin. I'll always be thinking of you. Always," He said. I stood back and gave him a sad salute. He saluted back. Then I was off. Author's Note I'm a new user, so my writing's a little rusty. So if you didn't know, BluBerry Muffin is being sent away to Ponyville, because of the Great Pegisi War. Check back soon! New additions hopefully every other day. You know, with school and all. Peace out Bronies!
