Tongue Tied
Story and plot by ME
It was a cold a snowy night, on the night of Hearthswarming eve, you walk down through the streets of Ponyville, through giant candy canes poles, decorated trees, wreaths, and a lot of snow. Your going to your home, which is also your small tea cafe you run. It was the perfect business, two story building, first story is the cafe, while the second was your house. Running a cafe, serving tea, and living well in a small town, everything was perfect, except somepony to love. You haven't really been interested, since most of your marefriends are just friends, but you could never find anypony that was right for you.
As you walked down the streets, you see a shadowy figure next to a candy cane pole. You walk up to the figure to find a young purple lavender mare with a tongue stuck to the candy cane.
"Uhh... is there a problem here?" you question ask you chuckle a bit
"Wehhh I wathhh thhrryyying thwoo..."
"Wait, tell me later, but right now you need help." you interrupted.
You examine her tongue which was stuck to the pole, with closer examination you could see that her nose was red, she had a fever, you had to help in any way. You wrap your hoof around her neck and try to pry it off, but the mare only winced in pain, you let go trying to think of a new idea. Suddenly your idea popped up like a light bulb. You lean over to the mare's tongue and breathed out heavily on the tongue. The mare's tongue defrosted and was released from it's ice prison, she gave a grateful smile and embraced her savior. You then felt a beat, but couldn't describe it and embraced the mare back.
The mare was ill, and not well. When embracing you, you feel her weight had increased and you noticed that she was leaning against you, it must be because of her fever. You gently pick up the ill mare and carry her on your back, you simply couldn't leave her out in the harsh storm, and she was in dire need of assistance. As you make your way through the storm, you find your home and burst through the door. You carry the mare upstairs and place her on your bed, you quickly think of something that may help her. As the mare was on your bed, you covered her in your blanket, hoping she'll get warm. You pace downstairs, and quickly go down to the basement, when down there you grabbed herbs, an extra blanket, and an ice bag. You go to your kitchen opened the freezer and grabbed ice for the mare's head. You quickly ran upstairs applied an extra blanket on the mare and planted the ice bag on her forehead. You walked in your small kitchen downstairs and levitated a small knife and diced the herbs into pieces. You placed the herbs in a small net like bag and put it in a kettle with boiling water. As you wait for the herbs to set, you couldn't help but think about that mare.
She was absolutely beautiful, she was unlike any other mare you had seen in Ponyville. You finish preparing the tea and also went in the basement to grab some medicine pills. As you enter your room towards the sleeping mare, you set the the medicine and place your hoof on her forehead. She seems to be getting a tad better, but she needs the medicine, even if it tastes like a pile of manure. You place your hoof on the mare and shake her awake. She woke up groaning in pain, then rose with the worst looking face you've ever seen, besides Celestia stuffed with cake. The mare turns to you and was confused what was going on, she couldn't remember what had happened.
"Whaaa, huuuuuh, whats goooing on?" She said quietly in a weak tone
"Well I found you outside cold, stuck, and sick and put you in my home, I'll take care of ya, don't worry what ever you need..." You pull out your drawer and take of a bell."...just ring this bell and I'll come over to help you."
"Thank you"She replied
"Well I'm going to sleep on the couch nearby, there is water, medicine, and tea right here if you need it." you say as you walk over to your couch and slowly fall asleep.
*/\/\/ The Next Morning \/\/*
Your eyes slowly open as you feel like manure, you get up from the couch and look up at the clock. The time was 9:00 am, you had 3 hours until you could open up your cafe. You walk up towards the sleeping mare, you noticed that the medicine and water was gone, and only half on the tea was drunk. As the mare was asleep you gently put your hoof on her forehead, her temperature had seems to have dispersed and vanished. You walk downstairs hungry and needed something to eat, you walk to your own private fridge and pull out two frozen waffles, you place them in the toaster and wait, life's enemy... patience.
As you wait you hear hoofstep coming from the stairs, as you watch you see the mare looking healthy as ever. "Hello, didja have a good sleep?" you question
"Well kinda, what happened last night? How did I end up here, I can't really remember anything." The mare questioned
"Well I was walking through the streets of Ponyville and found you and your tongue stuck on a candy cane pole, I helped you get out, and out from the cold, you were extremely ill and I nursed you back to health." you explained
"By the way why did you decide yo lick on the pole? Everypony knows to never lick a frozen pole."
The mare blushed and giggled in embarrassment as you ask. "Well I was walking through the streets and I saw the pole, I heard the rumors of licking a pole, but I didn't really believe in those rumors. Boy was I wrong" the mare explained as she giggled more in embarrassment/
I can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity sir....sir..." The mare was puzzle was your name was.
"The names Tea 'n' Tea but you can just call me T, and your welcome."
"Well then T, my name is Twilight Sparkle, but my friends just call me Twilight."
"So Twilight are you feeling alright?" you asked
"Yes I'm feeling fine, but I have a question for you T, what is this place?" Twilight asked as she looked around the Tea House Cafe.
"Ah well I own and run Ponyville's Tea House Cafe, I basically sell tea and some baked goods to my customers, it's a place to relax and stuff. It gives me a purpose in life y'know? Plus, it's a living." You explain in a happy tone. "Would you like some tea?" You noticed that Twilight had a concerned look on her face. "Don't worry it's on the house."
"Oh well when you put it that way sure." happily exclaimed Twilight "What kind of tea do you have?"
"Well....... that's the thing, my cafe is different, along with my tea." You pull out a menu from under the counter and open it up, it was full choices between leaves, herbs, sizes, treats, and sides. "You see, my cafe is like a build your own tea cafe, you can pick your herbs and leaves, along with what size and boom you got yourself your own cup o tea." You explain.
Twilight was very surprised how his tea system worked and yet somewhat confused. "So how can I make my tea?" Twilight questioned.
"Well pick some herbs to go with your tea."
"Hmm..... I pick a mix of mint and rosemary."
"Alright do you want any sliced fruit in your tea?"
"Sure" Twilight examined the menu "I'll just have a slice of lemon."
"Alright Twilight your tea will be ready shortly." you said while making her tea.
After a while of boiling and preparing you felt a strange feeling when being around the mare, as if your chest was going to explode. You also noticed a shade of crimson on her cheeks, she had become infatuated with you. You wanted to tell her how you felt around her, but didn't want to destroy the relationship. You just moved on. As you finished Twilight's tea, you levitated the kettle and poured a cup and brought it out to Twilight along with a small cup of sugar cubes and a tiny cup of honey. Twilight gracefully took her tea and levitated her tea close to her, she blew on it to cool it down and took a small sip.
"Mmm this is delicious, thank you T, this is probably my new favorite tea." exclaimed a Twilight Sparkle filled with warm tea.
"Thanks it was no problem." You smile as you take her compliment.
"By the way T..."
"Yes what is it Twilight?" You say as you raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"Okay T, how do you get your herbs and plants to make your tea?" questioned Twilight
"Well for the fruit I just buy them in the market, for my herbs and plants well....... follow me and you'll be surprised." You say as you gesture a hoof towards Twilight. She follows you with curiosity down in the basement. As you lead her to your base you watch her her mouth opened and seeing her jaw drop as far down as her mane. Inside she had seen almost an indoor basement garden, the room's floor spread was as big as town hall itself. The floor wasn't a floor, it was pure grass, and inside she could see small portions of lights beaming from holes in the ceiling. The herbs where planted in boxes full of soil along with plants so that they'll stay fresh."
"H..H...HOW LONG DID IT TAKE FOR YOU TO DO THIS!?!" Questions Twilight
You chuckled as the Twilight stared in aw of your amazing garden. "Well, This took me about 4 months after I opened my cafe. It wasn't that hard, it just took time because of how big it was. Why have you ever seen an underground garden?"
"N...NO, I've never seen anything like this before." Exclaimed Twilight "Why is Celestia did you do this?"
"Well, it's kinda of a long story. It all started when I first opened my cafe I had to walk all the way to the market every Sunday to grab a whole bunch of herbs, plants, fruits, and supplies in general, and boy carrying them was extremely heavy and hard, even if I used a cart, it would still be heavy." you explain
"Well what about your flowers when they bloom, how do you pollinate them?" asked Twilight
"Well I would pickup the case of flowers and bring thing to Room B. Its a room full of bees that I use to pollinate flowers and receive honey for my tea. I always wear a bee suit of course so that I won't get stung, it saves money, time, and jars for me." you explain while giving a smile to Twilight.
You both walk back up to the first floor of your home/cafe, as you walk in you see Twilight's cheeks transform into a shade of crimson. As you reach the cafe you quickly look at your clock, the time said 10:30, you had an hour and a half until opening.
"Well T, it was nice meeting you and again thank you for all of your help, but I really need to get going, I'm sure Spike is worried by now." Twilight said
"Spike?" You ask with an eyebrow raised
"Oh yea. He is my number one assistant, I run the Golden Oaks Library here in Ponyville." Twilight said
"Well If your going home, lemme walk you home, it's still snowing and freezing outside and I know you can't survive that, plus you just recovered from your fever." Twilight's mouth opened as if she was about to say something. "And don't worry about my cafe, It doesn't open for another hour and fifteen minutes." you say as you already answer her next question. She closed her mouth and nodded in agreement. You go back upstairs and grab 2 scarfs for the cold, you go back down and put one on and attempt to wrap around the scarf on Twilight. As you do you notice that you feel something, like a beat, not music but from inside your chest, you continue to ignore it an proceed with applying Twilight's scarf.
The both of you head outside through the streets of Ponyville. You notice that Twilight seemed to be fine and proceeded through the windy snow.
"T you have been the most nicest stallion I've met, there must be a way I can repay you." Twilight exclaimed
"Eh... well you don't really have to Twilight, I'm not that kind of pony that takes things, It's okay you don't have to. But you can if you want, anything I guess would be fine but I probably won't accept it, don't want to be greedy y'know?"
"Oh well I can think of something T." you hear as she giggled a bit. You felt uneasy hearing her giggle, hoping that she doesn't kill you or ponynap you."BAH she couldn't do that, she's too sweet to do anything like that." you thought to yourself.
You both reach Twilight's house which was also as a giant tree. You open her door with your magic and gesture to her to come inside, but she didn't want to go inside. She had her head face down staring into the snow on the ground, she began to worry if something was wrong.
"Twilight is something the matter?" you ask
"Well, I was thinking on how to repay you back and I think i know what to give you."
"Ohhh... and how will you do that?"
"By doing this." You suddenly felt Twilight's lips pressing against yours, she then wrapped her hooves around your neck pulling you in for a more passionate kiss. You know this feeling, it's a feeling of happiness, joy, and...and...........love. You accept this kiss and continue to kiss her back, but something wasn't right, you felt something cold on your tongue. You pull back from your kiss, but there was one problem, you couldn't. You looked closely at your tongue and embarrassing enough it were frozen stuck..........with Twilight's tongue.
"Eh...heh...heh... oops" Said Twilight with an embarrassed look on her face.
You roll over your eyes feeling embarrassed. " Youth goth thoo be kithhing me." you said with a frozen tongue as Twilight just giggled.
You were now frozen in the chamber of ice and love, your heart was frozen and complete. You have finally found the mare of your dreams to finally complete your life. You have found love.

Well this was my first one shot and finished it a little past Christmas.
