The Receiver

Some ponies called Celestia's "Receiver" teachings nothing more than a thought experiment. An amusing diversion from how magic was perceived- That it was not a resource, meant to be exploited by a privileged few. That it was meant to be treated with respect, since it was so deeply intertwined with pony society on every level. Especially that of the cutie mark, the representation of the soul.

When Celestia began the program to ween ponies off magic, it was perhaps too late. Though the receivers could listen to magic, hear it's whispers and screams, they could not prevent it's nature: to reclaim itself from the ponies into a solitary existence, at the ponies expense. Celestia deemed this inevitable end to their abuse as the "Soul Kill," and it was the Receiver's most troubling "end of days" prophecy.

When a pony wakes up completely alone with only a recorded warning of her very possible death, a purely physical weapon, and a missing cutie mark, she must traverse the naked streets and skies of Canterlot in an effort to discover the full weight of those teachings. She may, after all, be the only one left to carry them out.
