That Which Creeps in the Night
This is a Pony Fanfic in which it may or may not have a happy ending, this is to bring the horror of reality upon ponies, and depending upon how much views and positive feedback I get, I may or may not make the second chapter.
A small help on background here, Alicorns are considered Gods, they are immortal, and possess magical powers beyond the capability of any ordinary unicorn. They are meant to be the basis of all ponies, the bridge that connects them, that is why they are a mix of Unicorn, Pegasus, and Earth Pony. There is however, a alternate form, these too look like alicorns, and posses the same powers, but rather than wanting to help ponies everywhere, they find they want to destroy them. This causes their appearance to become less than beautiful, and more....demonic. The Queen of the Changelings is such a creature, these are called Demons.
The Demon of Nightmares and Terror has come back, he was locked away in a prison comprised of hopes and dreams, bravery, and goodness. He was locked away by Discord, and Celestia, who put aside thier differences and faced this foe together, because he possessed not a threat to the good, but the bad, he was no ones ally, but everyone's enemy.
He has come back to take his revenge upon all of equestria, however. The only thing that can destroy him, is fear itself, he has targeted the only ones who can really stop him, those who posses the power of the Elements of Harmony.
Twilight Sparkle trotted through the forest, she was positive that she had heard the scream from here, she was worried, it sounded like a filly of some kind. What worried her the most was that they had had a string of dissapearances lately that had begun to unnerve everyone. Celestia was trying her best to find the culprit, but she couldn't find it.
What worried her the most was that Celestia was apparently having nightmares, horrible ones, that have been draining her of energy.
She heard another scream coming from farther into the forest, and she headed that way faster, now charging through the forest at a full scale gallop. As she broke through the forest, she saw a small shape on the ground. It sounded like they were crying.
"Hello? It's ok, it's me....Twilight Sparkle....are you ok?" She asked.
Approaching the pony, her heart dropped as she noticed it was Pinky Pie. She rushed up to her and turned her over. Pinkie was mumbling to herself, her hair had gone flat, and she was trembling.
"Pinkie! PINKIE! Oh great Celestia, are you ok?" She asked, shaking Pinkie.
Pinkie looked up at Twilight and said "Twilight? Good, you're here, something is terribly wrong....I can't seem to laugh Twilight....I'm scared...."
Twilight lifted her up on her back and said "It's ok, we're going home, what happened Pinkie? What did you see? Did someone attack you?" the words "I can't seem to Laugh" echoing through her head.
She trotted along and Pinkie said "Nothing, I saw somepony, but, but........he......."
She shuddered and stopped talking. "Pinky? What happened?"
"He showed me that nothing is funny, he showed me that there is no fun, there is no friendship, only pain, sorrow, and agony" She said
"Pinkie! That's nonsense! What do you mean?!" She yelled startled at this sudden turn.
Pinky dropped off from her back and said "He showed me everyone would eventually betray me, happiness only delayed the inevitable, fun itself is nothing more than a sweet lie, this world is full of pain, and agony."
The mane on her neck prickled as the words came from pinkies mouth. Pinkies eyes seemed to glow red as she said this backing up before finally saying. "He showed me there is a storm coming, and no one will survive, he wants revenge twilight, he was eternal agony and pain. He wants me." She said turning tail and charging back the way they came.
Twilight charged after he, firing a sleeping spell at Pinkie, but it missed several times before Pinkie turned and said "TRYING TO KILL ME ARE YOU?!"
Twilight knew something happened, Pinkie was beyond talking too, she had to put her to sleep and bring her back, they had to find out what happened. Pinkie leap into the air and landed a right hoof onto Twilight.
Stumbling back, Twilight cast a decreased gravity spell, increasing her own speed, and slowing Pinkies, before firing off a sleep spell again. Nailing her in between the eyes.
"I didn't want to believe him, but, you are, you are killing me"
"No Pinkie! I'm trying to help you!" She said as she bent down and lifted her back up, turning around and heading back for Ponyville.

Twilight entered Rarity's shop, and called out "Rarity! Sweetie Bell! You there?" She laid Pinkie down on Rarity's couch.
Rariry trotted down the stairs and said "Twilight! What's wrong? DEAR CELESTIA! WHAT HAPPENED?!" She said galloping over to Pinky.
"I have no idea, I'll explain what went down in the forest, but for now, we need a doctor, and the others. Probably Fluttershy as well, something is seriously wrong with Pinky Pie."
Pinkie muttered "No happiness, no fun, no nothing"
Rarity nodded and said "I'll be back soon, make sure she's ok!"
Galloping out of the room, she grabbed her outfit and headed out the door.

Whatever happened Pinky, she needed to find everypony who could help. Rarity thought as she galloped through town heading for Fluttershy's Cottage. Fluttershy had a decent knowledge in medical help, maybe she could help, she thought.
She knocked on the door, Fluttershy opened the door and whispered "Rarity? What's wrong? You seem flustered!"
Rarity explained quickly what happened and asked she get Rainbow Dash from Cloudsdale while she grabbed AppleJack. Fluttershy nodded, and grabbed her helmet before taking off.
Rarity watched her for a bit and headed for the Apple Family Farm. She knocked on the door, and it was opened by Granny Smith "Eh? What's that?"
"Is AppleJack home?" She asked
"Who?"
"Apple Jack!"
"Eh?" she said grabbing her hearing horn.
"Rarity! What's wrong?" It was Sweetie Bell.
"oh thank goodness Sweetie Bell, Pinky Pie is hurt, were is Apple Jack?"
"Out in the Trees, she's harvesting some apples...Is Pinkie ok?"
"I don't know just yet Sweetie."
Rarity galloped out into the forest calling out for Apple Jack, before finding her standing at a tree. She had Dozed off. She woke Apple Jack with a quick shout.
"Huh? Wha? Oh, man, what a horrible Nightmare, Apple Family property, no, APPLE BLOOM! UNLOCK THE DOOR!"
"Apple Jack! Pinkie Pie is hurt, something is wrong, we need help!" She turned to Rarity and said
"Rarity? Pinkie is hurt? Imma comin'!" She said as they galloped back into town, and into Rarity's shop. They were surprised to find Rainbow Dash laying down next to Pinkie, tied up, and bawling.
"No!! Please! Let me go! He said Clouds Dale would fall from the sky! I have to warn them! PLEASE!"
Rarity gasped "Rainbow Dash too? Twilight! Explain!"
Just then Spike cried out from upstairs screaming "NO! TWILIGHT! PLEASE! NO! PUT THE KNIFE DOWN!" Twilight gasped, and ran upstairs.
