It was early in the morning on Hearths Warming day in the small town of Ponyville, but in one home housing a dragon two unicorns and one young Alicorn prince the first two awake where the young draconis known as Spike and the Alicorn prince known as Shooting Star both of them almost never got to sleep waiting on Father Hearth to come and bring them presents the two best friends had snuck into the room of Twilight Sparkle and Shadowfoot the wine red unicorn stallion and the lavender mare still sleeping in their bed did not expect to be awoken
“Wake up Twilight and Shadow its hearths warming day” Both Spike and Shooting Star said in perfect unison jumping on the couple causing them to wake up with a jolt
“Spike,Star what is wrong with you two the both of you almost gave me a heart attack!” Twilight half shouted earning a small chuckle from Shadowfoot “Shadow watch yourself” Twilight warned her husband
“Sorry Twilight but I found it quite amusing” Shadow chuckled seeing the still hyperactive Alicorn and draconis on the bed jumping “Boy please stop”
“Sorry Shadow” Shooting Star said looking down
“Yeah sorry” Spike agreed next thing they knew both Twilight and Shadow had pulled them into a hug the three started laughing at Twilight joined in the hug when the hug had finally broke Twilight was the first to speak up
“Well come on you two woke us up for a reason” Twilight said “Now first thing is first go brush your teeth go on get” Twilight gave both Spike and Shooting Star a playful swat on the rump “And I will be checking” she shouted to them as they ran off to the bathroom leaving both Shadowfoot and Twilight alone “So Shadow did you get that one gift for Star from Canterlot?” Twilight asked hoping his answer would be ‘yes’
“Indeed I did Twilight it took a while but I was able to get it here” Shadowfoot said letting out a small chuckle “I do have connections at the castle incase you have forgotten” Twilight then gave her husband a small hit on the forearm “No need for violence my love”
The two sat on their bed laughing like never before they were laughing like a pair of school fillies Twilight was the first one to calm down “Well Shadow I guess I will go and check to see if those two are brushing their teeth” Twilight got off the bed and started to stretch when she had finished Twilight made her way to the bathroom

After Twilight,Spike and Shooting Star had left the bathroom Spike and Shooting Star’s teeth sparkling after being held down by Twilight while she forcibly brushed the there teeth Twilight let out a huff as Shooting Star and Spike ran down stairs laughing
“Boys go to the table and wait for both Shadow and myself” Twilight yelled “And do not open your presents or else” she warned them as Shadowfoot emerged from their bedroom emitting a small yawn seeing Twilight’s distrate face
“What is wrong my love?” Shadow asked hoping to get a straight forward answer only to hear Twilight mumbling something
“Nothing Shadow nothing at all” Twilight stated as she began making her trek down the stairs with Shadowfoot flanking her hearing two very excited voices coming from the kitchen Twilight let out a sigh as she walked into the kitchen “Who wants pancakes?” Twilight asked hearing three audible boys or in this case two boys and one grown stallion saying “me” Twilight let out a small chuckle “I guess everypony wants pancakes this morning”
“You bet Twilight your pancakes are the best” Spike exclaimed
“Oh can I have some apple chunks with mine please?” Shooting Star asked Twilight cocked an eyebrow at the request
Shadowfoot leaned to his wife's ear “He always had a side of apple chunks with his pancakes or waffles back in Canterlot” Shadow whispered Twilight nodded understanding
“Yes you may Star” Twilight said with a smile only a mother could give Shooting Star returned the smile as Twilight went to cooking breakfast

After breakfast and cleaning the dishes Twilight,Shadowfoot,Spike and Shooting Star had retreated to the living room sitting in front of the tree while the fire crackled Twilight went over to a record player she kept put up Twilight then put a record with Hearths Warming music on it as the music played Shadow spoke up
“Well who is ready to open gifts?” Shadow asked seeing Shooting Star raise his hoof and Spike raise his claw Shadowfoot chuckled “Well I guess that answers that”
“Well go on boys look for a gift with your name on it” Twilight said as both Spike and Shooting Star ran up to the tree looking for presents when they both came back Spike tore into the present that he had received from Rarity when he opened it he saw a sapphire as blue as her eyes in the shape of a heart
“Go on Star open yours” Twilight said smiling “I think you are going to like this one”
Shooting Star began to rip off the wrapping paper when he pulled the present out his eyes widened it was a photo of himself,Celestia and Luna Shooting Star immediately hugged the picture and held it close to his chest smiling both Shadowfoot and Twilight awwed at the sight as they saw the two rip and tear through present after present when they had finally finished Spike and Shooting Star had some presents they wanted to give
“Here you go Shadowfoot and Twilight” Shooting Star said barely holding his levitation spell as the two grabbed their presents in their own magical aura when they opened it they each saw a book Twilight had gotten a book about Starswirl The Bearded and Shadowfoot about Equestrian history
“Thank you Star” Shadowfoot thanked the Alicorn colt
“Yes thank you Star” Twilight thanked him as well

After opening the presents the four were now relaxing in front of a fire until Shadowfoot had realized something he smiled and tapped Shooting Star on the shoulder
“Hey buddy you forgot one” Shadowfoot said as he pointed to a present that had been sitting on Shooting Star’s little study table for a while “Go on and open it” Shadowfoot encouraged his young friend after a second Shooting Star took off the wrapping paper to see a box he cocken an eyebrow at it “Look at what is inside the box”
A brief second later Shooting Star had opened the box pulling out a new pair of saddle bags but when he dug deeper into the box he found a crown that looked to be almost of roman style yet modern at the same time Shooting Star kept pulling out different items some regalia that almost had an armor look to it it was a dark silver with a purple gem in it shaped like a shooting star
Shooting Star pulled out one more item the best present he had even seen it had brought tears to his eyes it was his old blanket from the castle with a note from his mother attached to it

My Little Star,
I am deeply sorry I was not able to make it to see you on Hearths Warming but I hope that you like the presents that both myself and your Aunt Lulu got you it took us awhile to get it there with out you noticing but I hope it was well worth it I promise you this I will be coming to Ponyville tomorrow after I raise the sun to visit and spend the whole day with you
