One Lonely Star

                     Prologue

Her hoof lightly touched the snowflake and seeing it prepared she smiled warmly and did as she did every winter, she carefully picked up the snowflake keeping it gently on her fore hooves trying not to damage the frail snowflake  she got up from her station, standing up on her hind legs she walked over to the window letting the snowflake slowly fall into the lands of Equestria smiling brightly at the sight she sighed deeply walking back to her station in the Rainbow Factory.

She reached out with her fore hoof over and pulled the lever down deactivating the machine sighing deeply from another day working at the rainbow factory

“ Make sure to get the lights off star !

“ You got it ! “

“ And make sure you're station is Off this time Please ! “

“ Uh-huh “

She rolled her eyes behind her co-worker's back in a hint of annoyance as she walked slowly over to her station gazing along it and making sure it was shut off as she usually hadn't done then walked over to the window once more gazing across Equestria then leaned forward a bit looking down to her home in Ponyville smiling a bit then slowly walked towards the exit she thought to herself

“ Another days work and another night with no one to enjoy it with..”

She smiled at the though of how beautiful Ponyville must be with her hards day work falling all around it, she then reached out and flipped the light switch to the factory looking behind her as the room became dark not being able to see anything but the glow from Princess Luna's magnificent moon lighting up the darkness from the window she then slowly turned around looking intently at the window and thought to herself.

“ It's been such a long time.. Should I ?.. “ She slowly made her way to the window looking out at the beautiful stars and moonlight then looked straight down at her home smiling then turning back at the exit.

She grinned as she locked her wings to her sides as she leaped out the window feeling the sudden rush of a cold winter's night flowing through her mane as she plummeted down from Cloudsdale down into Ponyville at a high speed watching as land was getting closer and closer....

FWOOSH, she shifted her body unlocking her wings flapping them furiously to slow down as she gotten closer and closer to the land then landed gracefully closing her eyes as she felt her hooves came in contact with the concrete. “Perfect landing Blitz !” She complimented herself in her thoughts.

Her mane slowly fell upon her shoulders panting softly, she looked around the empty streets ensuring there was no audience as she slowly began walking to her home looking around the empty streets and slowly let her thoughts distract her as she reached her home, she looked at her home exhausted from the hours spent making snowflakes and from her little stunt she pulled awhile ago all she wanted to do was take a nice long rest.

She yawned loudly as she slowly entered her home pushing the door open with her forehead then looked around her home seeing only emptiness..

She flipped the switch as light brightened her dark living room revealing her furniture, “Why am I expecting somepony to be here..” She thought as she sighed and flipped the switch once more letting darkness fade letting the faint moonlight seep into the room from the windows.

She slowly walked upstairs through the darkness then opening her door with her forehead once more looking around her room slowly making her way towards her bed then let herself crash onto her bed whimpering in her sorrow thinking “ Why am I so lonely.. Its never been like this.. Not after what happened.. I don't understand anymore..”

She sobbed tears flowing down her cheeks as she slowly faded into slumber although her sorrow accompanied her to her dreams as she tossed and turned in her slumber weeping and crying from her sorrow filled nightmares.

After awhile she woke up seeing snowflakes slowly fall as she reminded herself that its winter, Star had heard knocking at her front door as she slowly arose  looking around her room yawning.

“ Who could Possibly bother me at.. “ Blitzel had checked the time “ 9am.. Ugh why can't I just have a nice weekend off to myself..  Especially in the cold..“

Star got up leaving her bed-mane the way it was as she slowly trudged down to her front door to the knockings persisting shouting back at it “ I'm coming!! Hold on ! “ Star reached forward pulling her door open to none other than her good friend Vinyl Scratch with a scarf wrapped around her neck and smiled.

“ Vinyl ! Hey ! How are you ? “ Star exclaimed in excitement.

“ Star Bli- WHOA, You're mane is all frazzled up there!” Vinyl had let her know pointing a hoof at her mane

Blitz had just remembered and blushed slightly “ U – Uh.. Yeah sorry.. Slow morning.. Anyway, what brings you to my home ? “

Vinyl had chuckled softly and replied “ Just came to visit my best friend seeing as how you're always alone after what happened!”

Star had frowned thinking “ After what happened.. ” and replied “ Y – Yeah.. Nice of you to come by, you bring Octavia with you ?” She had said remembering the two being a lovely couple.

Vinyl had blushed slightly and smiled brightly “ Yeah ! She's over at Sugercube Corner wanna come with ? I came here to invite you any who !”

Blitz had contemplated on whether or not she should go but just decided she should just go out since she really had nothing to do. “ Uhhhm, sure why not ! Let me uh...”

Vinyl had interrupted “Fix you're mane ? Brush you're teeth ? Wash you're fa- “

“I get it Vinyl.. You can come wait inside if you like” Blitz had cut her off.

“Sounds good” Vinyl said smiling walking into her friends home as Blitz went and made herself presentable letting Vinyl wait in the living room as she exited her bathroom from upstairs tossing on a scarf matching her mane and trotted down.

“Alright lets go !” Blitz had exclaimed

“Lets !” Vinyl said getting up off the couch to join her friend as they both exited Star's home as they accompanied each other to Sugercube Corner in a cold winter's day.

As they had gotten closer Blitz had spotted Octavia sitting on a bench near Sugercube Corner with a coat and headphones to protect her from the cold and saw Vinyl immediately wave at her lover as Octavia noticed and smiled immediately getting up

“Vinyl!” Octavia hugged Vinyl then broke the hug as Vinyl leaned forward and kissed her cheek softly. “Wish I had a special somepony like that..” Blitz had let her thoughts run seeing the couple but came back as she heard Vinyl.

“ Tavi ! I'd like you to meet my bud Star Blitzel ! “ Vinyl had exclaimed in joy turning around at Star.

“A pleasure to make you're acquaintance Star, I have heard much about you” Octavia had smiled at her

“ Heard so much about.. ?” Star thought before replying. “ You as well ! It's nice to meet the mare that Vinyl here likes to brag about !” Star had chuckled lightly at Vinyl seeing her blush a little.

Octavia had gazed at Vinyl a moment as she put her head down chuckling nervously. Octavia shortly giggled later “ It's lovely to know I am thought highly of in that manner !” She said winking at Vinyl later chuckling with her.

“ So cute !” Star exclaimed but then her thoughts came to her “When will YOU have a special somepony ?” Causing her to frown a bit

“Something wrong bud ?” Vinyl had said with a hint of concern for her friend as Star had shook her head softly

“ I – I'll be fine, thanks for worrying about me though “ Star had stated smiling nervously.

“Well.. If you say so Sibi” Vinyl used her nickname for Star as they made their way towards Sugercube Corner the couple going in first and not paying attention to Star who was following behind she bumped into somepony with a yellow coat and a pink mane

“ O – Oh.. I – I'm sorry. “ The mare had said

“ N – No its fine, I'm sorry.. “ Blitz had said back as she watched this beautiful mare slowly walk away.. “ Wow.. She is so beautiful.. Who is she ??.. I've never seen her around !..” Star thought to herself then shook her head as she followed the couple in to see Pinkie Pie already talking to the two.

“ So how long have you two been together again ? Two months ? Wow thats a long time ! I love seeing couples it always makes me smile, although if I couldn't smile that would be TERRIBLE ! Oh my gosh I don't know how long I could go without smiling cause without smiling you can't show how happy you are and if I can't show how happy I am I'd end up being sad !” Pinkie had shouted

“Pinkie ! We get it ! Now can we please have two cupcakes ?”

“ Okay !” Pinkie said in joy as she bounced towards the kitchen and Star approached the two taking a seat at the same table as Octavia and Vinyl had continued to talk Star's mind was elsewhere..

“ I wonder who she is.. Has she been here long ?.. If so how have I Not seen her ? I mean.. Wow.. Maybe someone knows who she is !” Star thought as she looked at the two seeing as how Vinyl was trying to tell Blitz something.

“ Were you even listening Sibi ? “ Vinyl said with a hint of annoyance.

“ Uh.. Sorry, my thoughts got the best of me. What were you saying ?”

Vinyl paused before she answered “ Well as I was asking.. How are things in the rainbow factory, I always imagined going up there but I don't have wings to flap like you do Sibi “

“ Well.. Its nice most of the times, although it gets extremely cold at times but we mostly deal with it but yeah.. “ Star had said thinking of the factory how normally she'd be fairly lonely up there.

“ I see.. Well I think were getting ready to go, where will you be after this Sibi ? “ Vinyl replied

“ My house prolly' although I think I might buy a cake before I go from pinkie but yeah.. “ Star answered

“ Well you're welcome to come on over Sibi, as for now were movin' along for now, seeya' Sibi” Vinyl said getting up with Octavia as Octavia passed Blitzel, Vinyl stopped and whispered to her “ We really need to talk Star.. Things aren't the same. “ She said with obvious concern for her friend as she put her favorite shades on leaving Sugercube Corner following her love.

“ Really need to talk.. Aren't the same.. ? Whats that about ?” Star had sighed “Well.. I'm sure it can't be that bad.. Now, for that cake.. Wait a minute, Pinkie knows about everypony in Ponyville ! Maybe SHE knows who that mare is !” She had thought with a smile running across her face

With haste and curiosity Star got up walking towards the counter where Pinkie was and asked “ Hey Pinkie, did you happen to see a yellow pegasus with a light pink mane have you.. ? “

“ Fluttershy ? She just came by for some whipped cream for some special salad she was making for her Angel ! Yet sometimes I wonder why he always is so picky of what he wants from Fluttershy but I do- “ Pinkie had said but was cut off by Star

“ Angel ?”

“ Its her pet Bunny ! I have a pet named Gummi you wanna meet him ? “ Pinkie had said with a huge smile

“ Maybe another time.. How long has Fluttershy been here ? “ Star questioned

“ A long time ! I can't really  remember an exact date but we've been friends for a Long time ! I'm so happy she's my friend ! You should talk to her sometime she is really shy sometimes but really nice I'm pretty sure you two would get along really well !” Pinkie said with another huge smile

“ Wow, I never even knew she lived in Ponyville.. But thanks Pinkie I'll see you again sometime soon I guess ! “ Star said with a smile as she left Sugercube Corner with her thoughts going everywhere while she walked to her home. “Fluttershy... What a beautiful name”
