With the success of her quiet stealth, Fluttershy managed to make it back under the dome without any detection. While not with the same method as before, of course, it did still manage to work out in her favour. This time, she was not turning back, nor was she going to let her fear get the better of her. Twilight was counting her, her friends were counting on her, the entire town was counting all of them. As much as that was maybe a lot of pressure, she knew she couldn’t let that bring her down.
Sure enough, upon arriving back, she met with Applejack and Rarity at the meeting point. A place where Trixie would have more than likely not checked, and even if she did, she would have no real reasons to be suspicions. Fluttershy gave them a quick message from Twilight to gather their friends, along with a few other family members. She had a message to relay, and needed them all present for it. Twilight had a grand plan to overthrow Trixie and she needed their help with it.
It took a bit of time, but since even their families were concerned about the tyrannical reign of the mad-driven unicorn, they were more than willing to help. Fluttershy made sure they were all gathered around to hear the letter Twilight wrote out, which was actually a set of instructions that would help execute her plan.
“All right, everypony...” Fluttershy said in a clear voice, holding the letter Twilight had given her. “I have the instructions for Twilight’s plan, and I need all of you to pay attention.”
“You got it, sugarcube,” Applejack nodded. “Read on an’ tell us what we need ta do.”
Nodding, Fluttershy cleared her throat and began to read the message aloud, “Dear friends, I’m going to need all of you to help me in my plan to subdue Trixie.
“Applejack, I’m going to need you and your family in on this. Apple Bloom needs to look like you as a filly, since I’m going to trick Trixie into thinking I made an age spell. Granny Smith needs to look like an older version of you, and Big Macintosh, I need him to take on a male version of you. Trust me, it will all make sense when I perform the trick.
“Rarity, I need you to do the same with Sweetie Belle, make her look like a filly version of yourself.
“Then, I’m going to need you all to hide behind the statue in the town square near the town hall. The blasts of magic that I use will be a perfect cover for you to switch places every time I perform the spell.
“Lastly, I have one task for you, Fluttershy. You’re a pegasus, and you know Rainbow’s mannerisms better than the rest of us. I’m going to need you to makeup yourself into a Rainbow Dash clone. Trust me on this one. It’s going to really throw Trixie for a loop, as well.
“Get to work as soon as you can, everypony. I’ll be there in a few hours to challenge Trixie to another duel. Sincerely, Twilight Sparkle.” Fluttershy lowered the letter, looking to all her friends and the family members as well. “All right...so that’s the plan.”
“You get to be me!?! Awesome!” Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but attract attention as she happily sauntered across to her fillyfriend and planted a kiss on her muzzle.
Fluttershy blushed immensely, giggling a bit as she averted her gaze. “Yes, it would seem so, Rainbow.”
“That’s going to be so cool! I can’t wait! Okay everypony, lets get to it!” The bold pegasus appeared to have taken over the running of the show, placing a wing over the shy mare.
“We’ll go to the boutique then, we can prepare ourselves there.” Rarity put in. “We haven’t a moment to lose, we should depart immediately!”
“Great!” Picking up her mare, Rainbow Dash sped along, quickly making her way out of sight as she headed for the delicate fashion queen’s studio.
“I hope she doesn’t break anything...” Rarity commented as she started out, alongside her other friends.
Applejack snickered, giving her friend a reassuring pat on the back, “Ah wouldn’t worry yerself none, Rare. It’s gonna be jus’ fine.”
Undeterred, the rest of the group followed, heading to the Carousel Boutique. Lucky for them, Trixie wasn’t around to witness what was going on, so they didn’t have to worry about being caught and having to make up any kind of a lie about what they were up to.
The small group of ponies snuck into the boutique, checking for signs that they were being watched. Feeling confident that no threats were around, Rarity carefully opened the door to her shop, immediately lighting up once more as she entered her domain. Inside, the two pegasi were sitting on the floor, talking quietly amongst each other, having been waiting for the rest of the group to show up. Given Rainbow’s excited grin, and Fluttershy’s nervous but kind smile, it was pretty obvious what they were talking about. As well as that, they were sitting very close together in cuddling distance.
“I hope you two didn’t break any of my valuable items.” The alabaster unicorn feared the worst for her shop.
“Oh, no...of course not, Rarity,” Fluttershy said softly, shaking her head. “We just came in through an open window and then we sat here to wait for you all to get here.”
“An’ cuddled too, Ah see.” The farmer pony snickered.
“Um...well...” Fluttershy squeaked, looking toward her companion for help. It didn’t help that her cheeks were turning bright pink at the statement.
“It’s okay Fluttershy.” Dash patted her fillyfriend on the head, grinning. “We were getting ready paint this mare up like me.”
Rarity’s mouth quirked into an amused smile before she cleared her throat. “Well, good then. I believe we should follow your example and get prepared. I have everything we shall need to paint our bodies and style our hair! Let us prepare, everypony!”
“Oh boy! I’m going to look so cute!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed happily, eager at the idea of taking on the image of her sister as a filly.
“An’ Ah’m gonna look mighty cool!” Apple Bloom said, grinning widely.
“Eeyup.” Agreed Big Macintosh as he wrangled his little sister.
“Well’n ya heard tha lady...” Granny Smith croaked, taking a shaky step forward. “We’d best be gettin’ goin’!”
Nopony needed to be told twice. Rarity brought out some body paint, accessories for styling manes and tails, hair dye, contact lenses, and anything else they would need. With her well-to-do sewing skills, with a little help from Fluttershy’s own skills, they managed to craft three hats that looked identical to Appplejack’s signature cowpony hat. With all the items, it was time to get on their makeup.
“Hold still now, Sweetie Belle!” Rarity chided at her half-done sister. “I need to make sure that your mane will match my own exactly. We cannot afford any mistakes!”
Sweetie Belle, already having her mane coloured correctly, and not needing any body paint, nodded. Rarity levitated the brush to pull and style at the filly’s mane, managing to twist it into a stylish coiffure identical to her own.
Pinkie was working on Big Macintosh, painting him the same shade of orange as Applejack. Surprisingly, she worked with very well-to-do precision and care. She even managed to paint the likeness of Applejack’s cutie mark! Considering that she couldn’t speak without her snout, it was probably part of it.
Applejack was already beginning to paint Apple Bloom, with her snout already covered. Already finished, looking like an aged Applejack, was Granny Smith, who was observing Fluttershy as she worked in front of the mirror. Said pegasus was carefully adjusting a wig in the same likeness as Rainbow Dash’s mane. Aside from her own pink mane sticking out still, she already looked like a yellow, teal-eyed Rainbow Dash.
“Lookin’ real close ta tha real thing already, young’un...” Granny Smith smiled as she nodded in approval.
Fluttershy smiled at the old mare, “Thank you, Granny Smith. I’m glad it’s going to work out... It’s going well so far. You look very well done too...”
The old mare grinned, tipping her hat before she went to help out her granddaughters.
The paint bearing Rainbow Dash walked confidently up alongside her mare and placing the paint down beside her, assisted with the wig. The confident mare worked quickly, adjusting it to a final position, as a mirror of the mare the bearer loved.
Fluttershy smiled, looking from all angles in front of the mirror to make sure that the wig was on straight. “What do you think? Does it look alright from the back?”
Her grinning companion boldly rested her forelegs on Fluttershy’s back, giving her a perfect view of the back of her head. “Of course it does.” She then quickly made a few adjustments, grinning to herself.
Relieved, the yellow pegasus took a pair of tweezers. She wasn’t fond of using them, as she didn’t do so very often, but knew that she had to make sure that her eyelashes were just right. Carefully, she first went to work on plucking her lower eyelashes, one by one.
“Ow! Ow! ...Ow! Ooh...ow...” She uttered with each pluck.
“Here... let me do it.” Dash jumped off her companion and made to grab the tool from her.
“Um....okay....just be gentle...” Fluttershy gave her the tweezers.
“Of course. You’re my special snuggly wuggly and I get to play paint the Fluttershy!” The grinning multi-coloured mare began carefuly working away. Each time her companion cried out in pain, Rainbow would plant a quick kiss on the sore spot, causing the yellow pegasus to giggle softly.
As stinging as the plucking was, Fluttershy appreciated her mare’s efforts to make her feel better. It made the process a lot easier to bear. A few more plucks and kisses later, her eyelashes were styled to look exactly like Rainbow’s.
“Thank you, Rainbow...that was very helpful...” Fluttershy smiled, blushing a bit. “Um...you can paint me now, then...”
The cyan mare’s grin lit up Fluttershy’s world and with a giggle of sheer glee, the bold pegasus picked up a brush and carefully dunked it in a bucket of paint. “Oh this is going to be awesome!”
“Hee...” Giggled Fluttershy, her smile growing. “You can start by painting my face, then work your way down.”
“With pleasure.” The grinning cyan pegasus planted a quick kiss on her mare’s nose before setting to work, carefully painting away.
Sky blue wings flared as Dash worked her way around Fluttershy’s face, ensuring she kept the light blue paint away from the mare’s eyes. She allowed herself to fall into a rhythm, painting one small section, checking it then speedily moving onto the next area. No spots were missed as she knew her lover well and was careful to get paint into the smaller sections as well. All the while she couldn’t help but throughly enjoy herself. She had wanted to see what having another Rainbow Dash around would be like. Now here she was, creating a doppelganger out of the same pony she loved. Thoughts of a double rainbow and more filled her head, and her cyan wings did a small flutter.
Fluttershy dutifully remained still during the process, except for when she had to close her eyes or to angle her head or body part to grant better access. The bristles of the brush tickled against her coat, but she managed to keep her movement and laughter down to a minimum. Nervous as she felt about actually taking the form of Rainbow Dash, it did have an exciting feel to it, nonetheless.
“Somepony’s enjoyin’ herself...a bit too much!” Applejack teased from where she happened to observe.
“Yeah, of course I am! You would too if you got to paint your special somepony.” Dash replied, grinning over at the farmer. She gave the brush a few good dunks into the paint can then continued on with her task, moving onto the yellow midriff of her mare, quickly laying the paint on with bold swipes.
“You’re doing very well, Rainbow...” Fluttershy praised, giggling a bit from the ticklish feeling on her coat. “Keep up the good work, I’m already starting to look more like you.”
“You sure are! How about... do you feel more like me?” Dash puffed out her chest a big with pride as she continued, briskly painting her way over to where the butterflies sat on the mare’s flank. Before painting over the cutie mark, the cheeky pegasus laid a quick kiss upon each butterfly before promptly using the brush once more.
“Well...a little... I mean, yeah! I feel more like you already!” Fluttershy declared in a more Rainbow Dash-esque manner. She blushed and giggled at her reflection. “I mean...sure...”
“You need a little more confidence then. Stand like your fillyfriend! Look me in the eye and tell me how cool you are!” Dash grinned at her companion in a very challenging manner as she came around to face her.
Swallowing a bit, Fluttershy trembled, but nodded. “Okay...” Managing to adjust her posture, she looked into the captivating cerise eyes of her lover. Holding the gaze, trying not to falter, she managed to say, “I’m cool. I’m awesome and cool. ...I’m you! I’m Rainbow Dash...”
“Nearly...” The speedster couldn’t let her have it all her way. “But I know something that will help as well.” She leaned down and ran the brush along Fluttershy’s underside, purposely tickling her as she went.
“Ee!” Fluttershy squealed, giggling madly. “R-Rainbow....! Hee hee!”
Enjoying the result of her efforts, the bold pegasus pulled out before the pony above could collapse. “I guess I’ll just finish your underside off later then Fluttershy.” She then joined in the giggles as she reached for a new brush to draw the new cutie mark.
“Okay, Rainbow...” Fluttershy nodded, standing still as she could while Rainbow Dash worked on her flank.
The cyan pegasus giggled as she worked, almost unable to believe she was being allowed to make her lover become herself.
While keeping still, Fluttershy looked around and through the mirror to see everypony else’s progress. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were all set with their colours, looking exactly like a filly Applejack and Rarity, respectively. Big Macintosh was now also completely painted up by Pinkie Pie, who was happily bounding around her creation with glee, showering the ground around the stallion with streamers. All while he watched with quiet amusement, smiling and shaking his head. He now looked like a very buff male Applejack, hat and all.
Looking at herself in the mirror, it was almost scary to do so. A teal-eyed Rainbow Dash still with a few yellow patches and an applying in-progress cutie mark looked back at her. Despite that, she looked almost identical to her.
“Oh my...” Fluttershy murmured, staring wide-eyed at her reflection.
This caused the mare at work to glance up. “Awesome... two of me! Don’t worry Fluttershy. You’re only looking like your fillyfriend.” With a cheeky grin she resumed her work, quickly adding the finishing touches to the cutie mark on the left side before moving over to the opposite side of the shy mare’s flank.
“Hee.” The shy now cyan mare giggled, smiling as she observed Rainbow’s progress. “You’re doing a great job! No mess or anything, even. Well done, Rainbow! I really do look just like you, almost.”
“Well... I need to make my awesome mare look cool... exactly like me.” She paused to check her progress on the second cutie mark, swapping paints to colour in the cloud.
Fluttershy nodded slowly, still taking it all in. “Once I have the contacts in...oh sweet Celestia, I really will look like your clone! Um...if it’s okay...I probably shouldn’t speak while we perform. I think it would probably ruin everything if I did... But that won’t be a problem! I am the world champ at the quiet game.” She said proudly.
Dash placed the brush down, observing the cutie mark before turning to gaze into the captivating eyes of her lover. “Sadly enough! I like your pretty voice, you should use it more. But oh boy, I am so looking forward to having two of me flying around! Care for trying a double Sonic Rainboom, Fluttershy?”
“...A double Sonic Rainboom?” Fluttershy blinked, looking at her partner through the mirror.
“Do I need to remind you...? Remember...?” The cyan mare’s red eyes shone pleadingly.
Fluttershy paused, thinking for a moment about what she meant by it. A few moments later, recognition of the topic buzzed in her mind as she remembered the events back in the Crystal Empire. The plans in performing a double rainboom... A double Sonic Rainboom. One day...on a very special day.
Smiling dreamily, Fluttershy nodded. “Of course I remember that, Rainbow. That would make for an amazing spectacle...”
“Awesome! Want to take a test run as me for good luck? It’ll give you some practise...” Dash grinned at her mare hopefully.
“I...I could try...”
Still dreaming big, the mare herself continued to dream out loud to her fillyfriend as she reached for the paintbrush once more. “And then... I can take you pranking... two of me could pull some awesome stuff...” Cerise eyes clouded over as they gazed happily into startled aquamarine ones.
“P-Pranking again?” Fluttershy squeaked. “Um...I don’t know...um...well... I’m not that good at pranking... Don’t you remember when Pinkie took us pranking last week? ...I did horribly and ended up humiliating you both! ...I don’t want to risk that again...”
“But two of me could pull the best pranks ever!” She nuzzled up against the drying fur of her fillyfriend, grinning confidently. “And I thought you looked very cute when you did that ‘Shy.”
“No I didn’t,” Fluttershy’s now blue ears drooped. “I looked like a fool, and you and Pinkie had to suffer the consequences...”
“Ah think RD’s gettin’ a bit soft.” Applejack laughed from where she stood with her family.
“You only just noticed that, dear?” Rarity giggled. “I find it simply darling!”
“Hey! I am not getting soft!” The athlete cried out, defending herself.
“Suuuure yer not,” Applejack laughed a bit. “It ain’t a bad thing, it’s just real darn sweet.”
Rainbow stuck her tongue out at her friend until the shy pegasus beside her snuggled up next to her, warming her heart and her cyan cheeks with her genuine affection and love.
“It’s okay Rainbow, they’re just teasing you.” Fluttershy cooed sweetly. “You know they’re laughing with you, not at you.”
“Sure they are...” The bold mare returned the snuggle.
Now Applejack laughed again. “Oh my, seein’ RD there snugglin’ herself is purty funny!”
Fluttershy blushed, looking in the mirror as she realized that it did indeed look that way. She cleared her throat. “Yes...it is...interesting... Um, Rainbow? Can you finish painting me? There’s still the underside to do.”
This caused the painter to giggle. “Of course! This will be fun.” She gently lay her fillyfriend on her back, nuzzling her the whole way down.
Once the mostly painted shy pegasus was lying happily on her back, Dash continued her job, giggling as she gently stroked the brush back and forth along the soft coat of her fillyfriend.
Fluttershy giggled and wiggled slightly from the brushing, but managed to stay still as best as she could while the rest of her coat was being painted over. “I...I...hee hee....I’m not...moving...hee hee....too much, am I?”
“Of course not. Just enough...” Dash quickly nuzzled noses. “...to be adorable.”
“Hee....” The shyer cyan-coloured mare giggled with glee. “Okay, then...” She spread her hind legs a bit to grant better access to her midsection.
The bolder pony giggled as she obliged her mate, quickly and effectively painting the rest of the mare.
Once the paint job was finished, Rarity came over with the contact lenses. Having never worn them before, Fluttershy was hesitant about using them. But she knew she had to in order to convince Trixie and even anypony else that she was, in fact, an identical clone of Rainbow Dash.
She sat in the front of the mirror, Rarity before her, gulping nervously.
“Now darling, I just need you to sit still. You’re going to be all right, and it will not hurt. It will feel mildly uncomfortable, but you will get used to them,” Rarity coaxed. “I will be putting them in for you, so you will not have to worry about touching your eye. Believe me, I have done this many times before, and also again for Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. I know exactly what I’m doing.” She levitated the contacts with her magic.
A comforting wing fell upon her back. “You can do it Fluttershy!” Her grinning companion added with the utmost confidence, gazing into her eyes with big shining red eyes.
Feeling a smile overcome her lips, along with a warm sense of comfort, Fluttershy nuzzled her fillyfriend gratefully. “Thank you, Rainbow...” She turned back to Rarity, giving a nod. “All right...I’m ready.”
Rarity smiled. “Splendid, dear. Now keep still, as I said. This will be over momentarily.”
The unicorn used her magic to levitate the contacts closer to Fluttershy, positioned across from both eyes. First, the left contact was inserted, with Rarity using her magic to gently hold both eyes open wide, and then placed the contact over it. Fluttershy whimpered a bit at the foreign, discomforting feeling.
The soft whimpering was stopped the a soft kiss to the shy mare’s muzzle, sending her heart into a flutter. “Ssshhh...” Dash cooed softly in her ear. “You’re alright... and looking good.”
Taking a few breaths, Fluttershy smiled shakily and nuzzled her mare in thanks.
“I’m sorry, dear, I hope that wasn’t too painful. Will you be all right?”
“Y-Yes... Go ahead...get it over with...”
“All right, Fluttershy,” Rarity inserted the second contact into Fluttershy’s right eye. “Now, these contacts will not dry out, they will remain moist. While you won’t have to wear them for a wholly extended period of time, I knew it was better to have that option for you all. Now, why don’t you take a look in the mirror?”
Fluttershy blinked her eyes to try to get used to the feeling of the contacts. Luckily, they managed to settle in her eyes fairly well, to where she couldn’t even really feel them after a while. Gaze drifting to the mirror, she was nearly in shock at what she saw. A perfect Rainbow Dash clone, eyes and all, stared back at her with a shocked expression. The colours, the shape, everything was perfect. She looked exactly like Rainbow Dash. A feat she never imagined.
“...Sweet Celestia...I look like your twin...” She uttered, her voice cracking.
“Isn’t it wonderful?” Dash sounded equally amazed and her elation shone through her speech. “Woohoo!” The bold mare grabbed her fillyfriend and flew a few laps around the room with her as she celebrated having a marefriend who now looked just like her.
“Meep!” Fluttershy squealed, creating the comical image of a terrified-looking Rainbow Dash clinging to an excited Rainbow Dash. “It...is pretty amazing...” She admitted.
A laughing Dash settled back down, fillyfriend clutched in her forelegs. “Okay Rainbow Shy... you can get down yourself. You don’t want your fillyfriend to get tired do you?”
Light laughter drifted across from the direction of the farmers at this question. Wearing a confident grin upon her face, Dash continued her smiling, ignoring the ponies in question.
“N-No...of course not...no....” Fluttershy shook her head. She turned to Rarity and the others. “When should we head out, do you think?”
“Twi said in her message that she’d be here in a few hours time when ya got back, an’ it’s been a while since then...” Applejack peered out the window briefly. “Ah think we can head out in a little while, since Trixie’s still occupied.”
Everypony ad-libbed agreements before putting the materials away, just in case of anything and to simply clean up. Fluttershy remained where she was, looking into the mirror some more as she tried hard to imitate Rainbow’s physical mannerisms. As neat as it was to be able to help along with this, taking an image of her best friend since fillyhood and her lover, but there was the nagging doubt.
What if she couldn’t pull it off? What if she would end up failing somehow and blowing their cover? This worried her immensely. The last thing that needed to happen was that kind of failure. Especially with so much at stake. Not just Twilight, the entire town, but all of Equestria was on the line.
The tough mare act fell as Fluttershy now faced the reflection of a pained, scared-looking Rainbow Dash about to burst into tears. She trembled, gaze downcast toward the floor as she sat there, alone, worried to the core.
‘What am I going to do? I can’t let everypony down... Twilight is especially counting on me... On all of us... And Rainbow is so excited about this... I better not mess up. This isn’t the time to get scared! But I always get scared! Me, little cowardly Fluttershy afraid of her own shadow! Why do I always let my fears get the better of me? Am I really that much of a scaredy pony? I’m a grown mare, I have my own life... What’s wrong with me?’
Looking into the mirror again at her clone Rainbow Dash look, she sighed.
“...That’s not Rainbow Dash... It’s a costume... a mask. A complete mask I’m hiding behind. I’m not brave... Nothing but Rainbow Dash makeup hiding the scared little pony underneath.”
Without the depressed mare noticing, her fillyfriend had snuck up next to her. With a sudden move, the bold mare pounced on her, pinning the scared pegasus to the floor as she planted kisses across the now sky blue muzzle.
This of course snapped Fluttershy out of her sorrowful stupor, utterly taken aback by this. Not only by Rainbow’s sudden act of affection, but the overall essence of it. This was something she herself always did to Dash since they were fillies. Whether to make her feel better or just because she wanted to shower her with love and affection.
A blush coated her newly painted cyan cheeks, “Rainbow...?”
“Feeling better yet, silly filly?” The bold pegasus grinned down at her lover, nuzzling noses as she waited semi-patiently for a response.
“....A little bit better now that you’re here,” Fluttershy murmured, smiling a bit.
“But I never left!” Dash replied softly, blowing on a freshly coloured ear.
The shy pony giggled, “I-I know... But I suppose I felt as if everything was so far away...”
“Well then Rainbow Shy... I guess I’ll just have to stick close to my good looking clone then.” The bold pegasus on top gave her fillyfriend a loving lick on her nose.
“Oh...I’m so sorry, Rainbow Dash... I just felt so scared. Scared of failing...scared of...letting you all down. Trixie is very powerful and dangerous... There’s so much at stake, and one little slip could end it all...” A sniffle came from the painted pegasus, nuzzling into her mare’s neck. “I just don’t want anything to happen to Twilight, to all of you, to Ponyville...to Equestria...”
“Come on Fluttershy! I knew you could go out there and deliver that message, didn’t I? Nopony else but you could have gotten out and then back in without getting caught! Not even the great Rainbow Dash. If you can do that... I’m sure you can be me for a few minutes just to get rid of Trixie.” Dash held her mare in place making sure all she could see was the bold pegasus on top.
Looking into the now mirrored cerise eyes of her longtime companion, Fluttershy saw nothing but unwavering faith and passion. It was touching to her heart, to her entire being, whenever her friends had confidence in her. Earlier on this day when Rainbow Dash expressed nothing but keen confidence for her to go out there and sneak out past the dome was a perfect example. Everypony had faith in her. Including Rainbow Dash, most especially.
“....Thank you, Rainbow...” Fluttershy smiled gratefully. “You’re right... I can do this. I know I can do this.”
“Yes you can...” Dash almost purred, nuzzling her mare, relishing the sense of calm that was settling upon the timid pegasus.
There may have been a time that the opposite would’ve been said, that all she could be was somepony slowing them all down. But all of that was gone now. Fluttershy saw nothing but faith. Faith that was never challenged. Even in the worst of times.
“I can... And your faith in me means the world to me, Rainbow... Thank you so much...” Fluttershy embraced her beloved and snuggled her.
Mind alight with the pleasure of helping her lover, Dash slowly picked up the shy pegasus, placing her on the floor in front of her. “Right. Now, fillyfriend Flutter Dash... hop on! We have someplace to be and we need both Rainbow Dash’s present and ready.” She knelt down grinning, presenting herself, ready to be ridden by the most important pony in her life.
“All right... But first...” Fluttershy faced her lover, and kissed her sweetly. “I just wanted to wish you luck, as well. I love you....and I have faith in you, always.”
A light blush covered the bold mare’s cheeks and she smiled happily back, feeling ready to face anything. “I love you too, Flutters. Now hurry up. I’m not sure how much of a display I want to make in front of our friends. ….Besides, let’s not throw in any kissing while we’re out there. Not sure how everypony will take to me kissing myself.”
Fluttershy giggled. “True... I’m sure you even feel like you’re kissing yourself right now, aren’t you? I’m sorry...force of habit...”
“Oh... I can feel the real pegasus beneath. Don’t you worry. But yeah. It kinda was a little weird kissing... you... looking like me.” She once again motioned for her mare to embark upon her back. “Come on, free ride. This way I know you’re safe, too.”
Nodding, the timid pony climbed on top of Rainbow Dash. “All right, let’s go, Rainbow...”
Grinning up at her lover, Dash walked up to the rest of the group. “Alright girls... let’s go, we have a fight to win!”
“Yer darn right, Rainbow Dash!” Applejack agreed. “We’ll all come through fer Twilight an’ help her bring down that there tyrant!”
“I couldn’t agree more,” Rarity nodded and looked at everypony. “Let us depart, and we shall take our places! We must be ready for when Twilight arrives.”
With that said, they all left the shop, heading out into the reign of fire. It was now or never, and they would have to give it their all to help Twilight through this mess. With the power of friendship, ingenuity, and trickery, they could surely overcome this great threat.

Two happy pegasi slowly made their way home after a job well done. The two Rainbow Dash’s were locked in each others wings, lost to the rest of the world in their own bubble of warm cuddly joy. The shyer one on the left was singing softly causing her contented companion’s heart to melt with every word.
Fluttershy changed her tune to humming as well, and then nuzzled into Rainbow’s cheek. “You know...playing your clone was actually quite fun... And a lot easier than I imagined...”
The prankster giggled softly. “Yep. Told you! Would my snuggly wuggly be willing to go out pranking before we get home? I’m sure two of me would be rather awesome. I even have a few cool pranks in mind.”
“...Well....um....I would...but we still have to go to the demonstration later on, don’t we? Princess Celestia is bringing the officials from Saddle Arabia to see it. Um...maybe...we could try again tomorrow? If...that would be okay...?” Fluttershy responded nervously.
“You’re just going to keep putting it off aren’t you?” Dash sounded more defeated than annoyed as she snuggled back.
“N-No! No...I won’t... We can repaint myself tomorrow and then we can try again! Really!” Fluttershy gave a grin.
“So you’re enjoying being me, are you?” A cocky grin wrote itself across the cheeky pranksters face.
Blushing a bit, the other cyan-coloured pegasus giggled, “...Yes...”
“I knew being me was awesome! You are the only pony allowed to do this though Fluttershy. It’s a special privilege and only the most awesome pegasi can take this much awesomeness.” She rose off the ground clutching her chest, showing herself confidently off to her lover.
“That kind of honour is wonderful, Rainbow...” Fluttershy brought a foreleg around the real Dash’s neck, nuzzling her again. “And you’re just so sweet to say that.”
“Well, I mean it. Nopony else can.” She kissed the blue nose hovering right in front of her. “Wow... seeing me this close... I wonder what everpony would think if they saw me kissing myself...” Before Fluttershy could respond, Dash locked lips with her in a passionate kiss, wings flaring in excitement.
“Mmm!” Fluttershy stiffened, her eyes darting about. She wished that this could have waited until they got to Rainbow’s home...but it wasn’t long before she melted. She kissed back in kind, her own artificially-coloured wings beginning to flare as well.
Falling to the ground, Dash continued the kiss, slowly laying her fillyfriend on the road beside her, losing herself to her lover as the passion quickly built. She found herself enjoying the unusual sensation of kissing herself. The sensation disappears as soon as she closed her eyes, building the passion to new, higher levels.
Although realizing that anypony witnessing this would see that it was Rainbow Dash making out with herself; Fluttershy didn’t let it bother her then. She brought her forelegs around her lover’s neck, running her hooves through the ever-wonderful prismatic mane.
Soft moaning escaped Rainbow Dash response to the euphoric sensation building from the wonderful liplock she found herself engaged in. She wrapped her lover in her legs, bundling the shyer pegasus up in a soft ball of love as she continued to passionately kiss her mare. She gently prodded her tongue against her partner's mouth asking for entrance. By now all sense of being in public had vanished, leaving only Rainbow Dash and the pony she loved.
Fluttershy moaned as well, immediately granting entrance to her lover’s familiar tongue as she opened her mouth. Her hooves ran along her back, touching to the base of Rainbow’s wings and caressing her there.
The wings flapped softly, responding to the gentle touch of the shy mare. In return the strong mare ran her own hooves along her partners back, working the base of her lovers wings, teasing them to full extension. With her mind on fire due to the sensual stimulants of her beloved, Dash quickly began relishing the tastes that flooded her system as she explored the well known territories inside her fillyfriend’s mouth. The two tongues touched, holding for a small eternity before starting a small battle between lovers. Dash was more than happy to humor her fillyfriend, enjoying the pleasurable sensations that racked her system with each passing moment.
Pleasured moans escaped the timid mare on the bottom, her hooves continuing their touches along the powerful cyan wings. Fluttershy trembled, relishing further into the intimacy between them. Lips touching, tongues battling, bodies in perfect alignment, it was pure heaven. She was just loving every second of this fun, daring act. Two Rainbow Dashes, making out, easily caught. It was actually so thrilling!
A voice rang out from across the road. “Hey Bon Bon look at this! Wow, I guess Rainbow Dash really IS in love with herself!”
This caused the pair of lovers to freeze, mid make out session. Almost painfully, Dash broke away from her lover to meet the gaze of two ponies who were staring at the double Rainbow Dash in shock.
“You got it! I’m making out with myself. Now hit the road.” The cyan mare on top tried to wave the pair of mares away with a forehoof yet they remained, staring at her.
“She's in love with Fluttershy... Isn’t she?” Bon Bon broke the silence, utterly confused by the sight before her.
“Um...but...I’m Fluttershy...” Fluttershy said meekly, waving her hoof.
Lyra and Bon Bon’s jaws dropped simultaneously.
Although Dash had not wanted the secret revealed so soon, the result of her fillyfrend’s confession caused her to roll off Fluttershy and onto the path balling her eyes out in laughter. The light green unicorn joined in laughing as well, at least until the cream coloured Earth pony dragged her away.
“We are not to speak of this ever again,” Bon Bon said sternly.
“Awww....” Said Lyra, following alongside her.
“That was...great! Oh my gosh!” Dash managed between bouts of laughter.
Still blushing with embarrassment, Fluttershy sat up, adjusting her wig slightly. As thrilled as she felt in the moment, now she just felt nervous. What if Lyra and Bon Bon really would tell everypony? Part of the plan was not to tell anypony in town so that their reactions would be authentic. And now they knew. Sure, the problem with Trixie was no longer in effect, but it did still sting a bit to have been caught.
“Um, Rainbow....maybe we should just...wait until we get home before we do something like this...” Fluttershy said softly.
“Okay.” The bold cyan mare grinned at her lover as she nuzzled up, giving her a comforting warm glow to calm the embarised pegasus. “Lets go. Do I need to carry my future bride?”
Blushing immensely, all Fluttershy could do was smile as her heart swelled, racing. The sweet little callback to a certain exchange back in the Crystal Empire was enough to win her over completely. “If you’re fine with that, Rainbow...”
“Of course. Now I get to carry my future wife, bridal style, of course, all the way home!” The prankster gave her fillyfriend a quick nose bump, grinning at her. “You realize it’s going to look like I’m carrying myself.” She giggled, delighted with the idea.
“Hee...well...we know the truth....but...it could be some fun, nonetheless.” Fluttershy giggled, winking playfully.
“Of course.” After planting a quick kiss on her lovers nose, Rainbow Dash sat on her haunches, offering her forehooves to her lover, ready to pick her up.
Giggling, Fluttershy hovered up into the air, carefully and slowly lowering herself into Rainbow’s waiting forelegs. The waiting speedster carefully wrapped her charge in loving forehooves, lifting off with with all the grace of a true Wonderbolt in training. She chose to slowly glide along, hoping that somepony below would spot the double Dash.
In turn, Fluttershy brought her forelegs around her carrier’s neck and nuzzled her sweetly. She didn’t feel scared nor did she lack any faith in Dash’s strength or hold. All too well, she knew that Rainbow Dash would never let anything happen to her. Reckless and brash as the cyan pegasus could be, there definitely the right moments in which she knew when and how to focus.
Pausing in her travels, Rainbow Dash hovered above the outskirts of Ponyville, gazing into her lovers eyes as she held her tenderly in her forehooves. “Your house or my Flutters?” Grinning, she proceeded to plant a soft kiss on the snuggly mare’s nose.
Thinking for a moment or two, a sweet and suggestive smile came to Fluttershy’s face. Or at least, the face that looked more like Rainbow Dash, less of herself. “Well, how about your home? It would sure be nice to have some extra privacy...”
“Hmmm... Two Rainbow Dash’s playing in my house?” The athletic prankster could imagine a few opportunities presented therein. “I can live with that.” The bold flyer, slowly picked up her pace once more, taking off toward her home, her special somepony still snuggled in her forehooves.

Later, they arrived at Rainbow’s majestic cloud home. Along the way, they had indeed been spotted by various passerby, all of which were wondering why the Rainbow Dash clone was still flying about. But, given her reputation around the town, they found it to be no surprise and figured that she was up to some silly mischief with the “clone”.
“Honey... we’re home!” Dash alighted lightly on the doorstep.
Fluttershy laughed heartily, kissing her mare’s cheek. “Oh, I love it when you say that!”
Cyan lips plated a loving kiss on her partners equally blue forehead. “That’s what makes it cool, Flutters.”
“Hee...” Fluttershy nuzzled her. “Well, shall we? I’m going to need quite a shower to wash off the body paint.”
“Awwww... guess I won’t get a free make out session with myself then?” Dash’s disappointed expression had a hopeful smile shine through it.
The clone of the daredevil pegasus gave a suggestive smirk. “I didn’t mean I’d be doing that right this second, Rainbow Dash...” The name was dripping with a slow purr. A side of Fluttershy that she never exposed to anypony else under any circumstances.
“Ohhhh...” The real cyan mare’s wings fluttered excitedly. “You had better hope we stop at kissing then.” She giggled like a naughty filly, running a hoof along her partner.
“Or what?” Fluttershy’s wigged rainbow tail swished enticingly. Her saucy smirk lowered as she licked her lips.
A strong pair of cyan wings stood erect and their owner found herself wearing a silly grin. “Or I’ll feel like I’m making love with myself.” Dash giggled.
Laughing, Fluttershy gently lowered her mare onto the floor, and crawled over her, standing over her with a sweet smile. “Oh, don’t worry... You won’t have to think about that. But until then...” Her eyelashes batted as the sweet smile on her face grew. “Do you still doubt that you look adorable when you manage to look sweet?”
“When I’m you, maybe. You still have your adorableness of Fluttershy about you.” Dash caressed her mare, running a tender hoof along her face. “I know it’s you... just because of your touch.”
This made the Rainbow Dash clone that was Fluttershy blush, looking bashful all over again. “That’s true... I’d feel the same way if you were me.”
A cunning smile crossed the prankster’s face. “Now there’s a cool idea! We could both pretend to be two of you tomorrow! Then we go out pranking and I’ll take my fellow Flutters on a totally awesome date after.” She licked her lover’s muzzle, caressing the side of her face as she did so. “Because somepony is worth it.”
“Well... All right, Dash...it’s a deal.” Fluttershy giggled. “I guess...seeing two Fluttershys would throw everypony for a loop a lot more, wouldn’t it?”
“It sure would! Especially after the display we did on the road. You were awesome!” Dash grinned up at her lover, ecstatic.
“...Really? You think so?”
“Yes. It shows what you can do when you forget your shyness. It seems you just need my hoof someplace to help you.” The cheeky mare giggled lightly, continuing to caress her partner’s face.
The blush returned, but Fluttershy didn’t let her bashfulness deter her as she nuzzled her face into her lover’s hoof. “You’re right...”
“You know what...?” The mare on the bottom nuzzled her cuddly companion.
“What?” Fluttershy looked down at Rainbow curiously, tilting her head.
“I want to see my mare again...” A tongue made a futile attempt to wash away the paint on her lover’s face. “Then I can snuggle you and not me. Fluttershy feels better on top when you really are Fluttershy.”
“Hee...awwww....” A very flattered Fluttershy couldn’t help but fall into her little schtick in which she smothered her companion’s face with kisses. To think that even when playing about with a clone of herself, Rainbow Dash never failed to show her loyalty to Fluttershy, which in turn never failed to make her so happy.
“I bet you’d taste nicer too...” Dash sniggered lightly, running a wing boldly down her mare’s flank.
“Well, the sooner you kiss me, the sooner I’ll go wash off this paint...” Fluttershy purred. “But we can also take baby steps...”
A speedy kiss was planted on the fake Dash’s nose followed by the stronger pegasus springing up onto her hooves. “Right. You’ve had your kiss. Now come follow the rainbow.” Dash wiggled her flank, teasing her lover before strutting off.
This of course failed as Fluttershy swooped in and tackled the real Rainbow Dash to the floor yet again. Pinning her, she wasted no time and kissed her passionately. Their limbs tangled up, they rolled along the floor in the midst of their hot kissing. Breathy pants and moans escaped the two pegasi as they interlocked in sweet passion, eventually settling. To anypony seeing, it would be tough to tell which was the real Rainbow Dash and which one was Fluttershy.
It lasted for a while, the two really getting into it. At least until Dash broke it off with reluctance, staring up at her with amazement.
“You are one hot kisser...when you are aroused...aren’t you, Fluttershy?” Dash managed between breaths.
Giggling, Fluttershy kissed her once more. After pulling away, she removed the wig from her head, shaking out her long pink mane, now taking on the image of Rainbow Dash with Fluttershy’s mane. “Yes... You remember, Rainbow...that one time...I kissed you on the cheek....and you looked at me and said that it wasn't a kiss. And you grabbed me, then kissed me in such a way that I was pretty much catatonic afterward...you said THAT...was a real kiss.”
“True.” The cheeky pegasus grinned, planting another quick peck on her lover’s cheek. “But I enjoy finding new ways to set you off.”
“Hee...I love that, too... And I sure love to find new ways to set you off, too...” Fluttershy cooed, nuzzling their noses.
“Your mane...” Dash reverdy ran her hooves through its pink softness, the touch of it against her hooves sent a tingling down her spine. “It’s back. It suits you better than rainbows do...” The speedster giggled softly as she burrowed into her lover’s mane, almost losing herself in the soft genuine touch of their loved one.
Fluttershy squeed with delight at her gesture, bringing her forelegs around Dash to hold her steady and closer. “I can pull off a rainbow mane okay...but I think my natural roots do work better... And if you like it...well....yay!”
“I do.” Dash cooed, continuing to snuggle up.
Carefully, Fluttershy reached behind her, using her hind legs to help, and slowly removed the wig from her tail. Her long pink tail swished about freely, before intertwining with Rainbow Dash’s natural rainbow tail. Pink and rainbow curled together in perfect harmony yet once more.
Rainbow Dash had no idea how long they lay there, basking in each others love, content to lie there on the soft cloud floor. It felt like they were a world away from everything else in equestria, safe. Most importantly, the bold multi-coloured pegasus had her mare right where she wanted her, right between her hooves.
“Can I see the rest of my Fluttershy? I’ll even wash you.” Dash offered, gazing into her lover’s eyes with a massive grin upon her face.
“Awww...” Fluttershy cooed, flattered. She nuzzled their noses and nodded. “Sure, Rainbow... I’d love that. You painted me to be you...now you can clean it off to make me me again.”
“Make you look cuter again... Reveal the snuggly wuggly who lives inside.” The grinning spectrum of a mare giggled back.
“Hee... Well...then let’s get to it, shall we? Um...that is...if you don’t mind...”
“Well sure!” Powerful cyan wings lifted both sky blue ponies into the air and Dash proceeded to carry her snuggling lover along heading for her bathroom.

When all was done, with the body paint cleaned off, all Fluttershy had to do now was remove the contacts. However, given her inexperience with them, she wasn’t even sure if she was even going to end up doing it right. And the idea of actually touching her own eyeball was far from appealing.
She stood in front of Rainbow’s bathroom mirror, staring at her reflection nervously. She was back to her normal self, but the cerise eyes that were the effect of the contacts remained. The very little thing that was still out of place on the rest of her. Biting her lip, she raised a hoof to her eye, but then lowered it.
“Hey Fluttershy? Uh... I can do it!” Her partner entered, offering her help to the nervous mare.
“A-Are you sure? ...Have you ever removed a contact before?” Fluttershy asked in a nervous squeak, trembling a bit.
“Nope! But I’m keen to help you out and I’m sure the great Rainbow Dash can do it.” The bold mare gave her lover a confident wink, waltzing up beside her.
“....I don’t know...I’m just so nervous...” Fluttershy squeaked, looking to her best friend with fear. “...Okay...but please be gentle...please...”
“Of course I’ll be gentle! For you...” A nuzzle from the bold cyan mare followed as she moved to get a better view of her companion’s eyes.
“...Okay....” Fluttershy faced her anxiously, trying to keep brave and still as she could. She pulled down her lower eyelid to allow access to the contact.
With extreme care, Dash reached in plucked the delicate object from her lover’s eye. She stood back grinning at the anxious pegasus. “There. Easy. Now... one more!”
“You did it....” Fluttershy uttered, completely aghast. “...Rainbow, you did it! I can’t believe it! You got it out on your first try! I...oh, thank you! You’re amazing!”
“I know... I know...” The cocky mare soaked up her lover’s praise, grinning.
Feeling a lot less scared, Fluttershy pulled down her other eyelid to allow Rainbow to remove the final contact. Once more, the athlete quickly removed the offending glass from her lover’s eye. As soon as she was done, the bold mare planted a kiss on her lover's nose.
“I knew you could do it. I’ve been telling you all week.”
“Do....Do what, Rainbow?”
“Be awesome and not run away from a challenge just because you are afraid. First I got you to go get that message to Twilight, then you helped me as my body double! Even now, despite been scared, you let me and not Rarity remove your contacts!” The speedster grinned, happy with herself and her little speech, hoping it would do the trick and raise her lover’s morale.
Blinking, Fluttershy could see now that she was right. She really had been a lot braver than she realized, and it was amazing. The realization that everything came through just fine in the end, and in this little moment of putting her trust in Rainbow Dash... It was all she could’ve ever asked for in overcoming her anxiety and insecurities. She smiled lovingly, wordlessly thanking her beloved for such an endearing statement.
With a cheeky grin, Dash placed the delicate objects on the counter before jumping on her lover, rolling around on the cloud floor laughing and kissing her mare. She continued to dominantly lay it on, drawing many a giggle from her mare. Coming to a stop, the champion speedster grined down at the beauty below her. Smiling broadly down at the shy mare, Rainbow lent down and planted a passionate kiss on Fluttershy’s lips.
The creamy yellow pegasus kissed her back, raising her forehooves to her head and holding her as if afraid she would float away. Little moans sounded from the back of her throat, her eyes closed, and she just let the passion run away with her. Nothing else mattered. All that she could see and feel was the two of them, within their little love cocoon.
Running her wings along her mare’s side, Dash softly tickled her lover as she continued to deepen the passionate kiss. This felt better to her than the one on the road, here she was alone with her mare and Fluttershy was Fluttershy, not a Rainbow Dash clone. Soft giggles escaped from below, a sign that Dash’s light tickles were working.
In turn, Fluttershy lowered her hooves down to Rainbow Dash’s wings, stroking the feathers and teasing them. One hoof even found a certain spot along her back, between both wings, that she knew would make any pegasus melt, and applied gentle pressure.
With a sharp intake of breath, the cyan mare’s back arched before she collapsed on her lover. “F-Fluttershy...!” She accidently broke the kiss, moaning softly as she relaxed into the soft coat of the delicate pegasus.
“Rainbow...” Fluttershy kissed her beloved on the forehead.
“Yes Fluttershy?” Dash grinned at the kissing mare in her loving hold.
“You have a very comfy bed...and I’m more than aching to snuggle...” Fluttershy cooed sweetly, winking and kissing her nose.
“I’m sure I can ease those aches...” The cheeky pegasus giggled back. She continued to stroke the delicate mare in her hold, relishing her soft touch.
Little sighs of pleasure escaped the timid mare as she snuggled into her lover before motioning for them to get up. “Yay...”
Rainbow sprung up, wrapping her tail around her lover’s as the shy mare slowly stood. She added her wing to the mix, pinning a willing Fluttershy to her cyan side. Once she was all set, she waltzed along, enjoying the warmth of her mare.
“You know, Rainbow... I have to thank you for all you did... If it wasn’t for your encouragement...I might never have been able to go through with the plan.” Fluttershy whispered, smiling more. “You really have a way with encouraging me, you know.”
“I know... that’s why I’m your guardian and fillyfriend.” She nuzzled the pegasus who was pinned to her side, relishing the warm fuzzies that exploded inside her.
“If I could have a guardian angel in pony form...it would be you, my Rainbow Dash...” The creamy yellow pony nuzzled her companion.
“You mean I am your guardian angel.” The cheeky pegasus giggled. “And I’ve been making your life a lot safer and more awesome since we were fillies.”
Laughing, Fluttershy practically pounced on Rainbow Dash as they reached her room, tackling the daredevil onto her bed. “Rainbow my love, you’ve done that and so much more! I can never possibly repay you for all that you’ve done for me, and to have you by my side as we are today is beyond words. I love you so much, and I hope with all my heart, that it’s at least enough... Because I will spend the rest of my days letting you know that your wondrous efforts have and not and will not be wasted.”
“I know they haven’t been wasted.” The bold pony on the bottom replied, softly stroking her fillyfriend’s mane. “Because every day, I get to see the pony I love. For this awesome pony, that is enough for me, ‘Shy. I just want you.” She nuzzled noses, wrapping her emotional mare in a big four hooved hug.
“Oh....” Enraptured, Fluttershy snuggled into the full-body hug, returning it. The very moment between them escalating into an emotional moment of their love. Truly standing yet again, ready to face anything. “...Rainbow?”
“Yes?” Rainbow Dash gazed, lovestruck into her companion’s shining aquamarine eyes.
Staring back into the stunning cerise eyes of her lover, looking just as lovestruck, Fluttershy whispered very softly, “...How does next spring sound?”
Uncomprehending, the cyan mare batted her eyes, questioningly. Suddenly, a massive Rainbow Dash grin crossed her face. She knew what her mare was asking and it warmed her heart to hear those words.
“Fluttershy... you have no idea how good that sounds...” Dash lightly kissed her lover’s muzzle, buzzing with excitement at the prospect.
Tears in her eyes, Fluttershy let out a happy squeal and hugged Dash tightly, snuggling closer, giggling gleefully.
“Just... Don’t tell Pinkie Pie quite yet...” The cyan pegasus engaged her mare in a passionate kiss, pulling away all too soon.
“Don't worry, I won't.” Fluttershy assured, nuzzling her.
With that the bold mare wrapped her hooves around her lover, kissing her passionately on the lips, ending any further conversation.
The two happily settled into the night, together, snuggled in each other’s warmth. A big success to their mission was had, and this was their reward. It was a whole new step in the right direction toward their futures. The happy young couple lay there in bliss within a full body hug, their tails intertwined and their hearts racing against each other’s chests.
