The powerful witch Thaegan and her thirteen children were all killed in the righteous fight for Deltora... granted, they weren't fighting to free it. However, like in many other universes and worlds, some beings don't simply vanish on death.

Now, Thaegan and her children find themselves in the midst of a massive nest of shape-shifting creatures and must figure out how to deal with the circumstances. Are they welcome in the hive? How will her kids take this turn of events? How will the hive's unique resident take to having new guests? And what will they do, now that they have come back to life?
