A Heart for Two

In the middle of the Everfree forest, it was musky out, dark with a fullmoon.

Rainbow Dash could barely see. All that was visible was the black frigid air and her footsteps in the moonlight. She was lost,nothing to do but hide from the sounds of the Timber Wolves howling and run from whatever was following her. The weather was getting colder as the fog grew darker. Nearly freezing she stops, to try and make a fire but fails. Theres something lurking behind her. She could hear its every footstep, and a low toned growl. Breathing harder Dash started to black out.

Before her last glimps of sight, she thought she saw moving in a frantic motion, a small lantern like spot of light. Thinking it was Zecora she blacked out, in fact it wasn't! It was really Rainbow waking up in the Ponyville hospital. Surrounded by nurses, (which were smiling) she tried to move and couldn't. Sadly Dash looked down at her wings wear one was broke, but now both were. She tried to fight the tears that began to poor down her face.

Just then Rainbows friends Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie pie, and Rarity walked in. All of them had a blank stare and the room was silent until Twilight had spoke up.

"Will she be ok?"

"Yes her and the foal will be alright."

"*sigh* wait WHAT!?!"

The girls were shocked, and Rainbow Dashes eyes widened as more tears began to run down her face at the sound of those words.

"H-How far along is she?" The purple unicorn asked.

"Almost 2 months, she might be a hand full in the morning because of a few things. But we will be letting her go tomorrow after we run a few tests. So Ms. Dash will be someone you'll have to handle."

"Well Rainbow will need a place ta' stay until she can fly again,who's it gonna be? I cant do it ,there's no room in the house " Applejack said.

"I'm sorry I don't have room in the shop, i have Sweetie Belles room but she is using it right now."

"No can do silly, the Cakes will only let me stay in their attic."

"I can but ive got some very sick critters i'm taking care of right now and I don't want her to catch a cold."

"I'll do it, Spike is out of town in Canterlot for a few weeks with the princess. I could use the company while hes away."

Dr.Hooves said,"Its settled then, Ms.Dash will stay at Twilight's house until she is better."

With that, the five agreed and was thinking of how they were going to care for their friend that needed more help than anypony at that moment.

All the nurses and two doctors left R.D.'s room to attend the other patients in the hospital. At that moment Rainbow

Dash spoke up and said,

"Thank you Twilight for helping me, I-I don't know how I got myself into this mess. I don't even know how I got here or how long I was blacked out in those woods.

Twilight smiled and said "Its ok Rainbow, you would probably do the same for me, if I were a pegasus. Also I think I can see who brought you in."

"It would be nice to know, so I can thank them."

"Be right back."

Walking out of the room, Twilight asked the pony at the front desk Who brought Rainbow Dash in, and she said it was Thunder Lane who had found and brought Dash in. Twilight said thank you, and walked back to R.D.s room.

"Hey Rainbow, I know who brought you in here!"

She was out, asleep.Rainbow Dash had fallen asleep in the 2 minutes Twilight was gone. Nurse Red Heart told them to come back tomorrow, if they wanted to talk to her and that visiting hours were over.

They all said their goodbyes, and the lights were turned out for Dash to rest. Questions filled the air, that only the morning could tell.

Everypony was asleep except for Twilight, who laid on her bed with a stack of books reading about how to care for and what to expect with first time pegasi mothers. Rarity, who stayed up a little later designing baby clothes for Rainbow Dash's on the way foal, by taking measurements off of Pound cake. ( Mr. and Mrs. Cakes son.) and Pinkie pie who had been planning a surprise baby shower party for her now expecting friend.

Since Twilight had finished her books early, she decided to get her house prepared for Dash. Using what she had in the library from when spike was an infant, the place was foal proof and ready for an overly emotional Rainbow Dash. All that

was left to get was food and extra blankets. Which she would get in the morning, before they let Dash out of the hospital later in the day.

Exhausted, Twilight laid down to sleep. Looking up at the star lit sky, and wondering how much work her friend was going to be. Drifting off to sleep with many thoughts on her mind, she fell into a deep sleep in just seconds. Hoping that

tomorrow would bring good news, and the father of Rainbow Dashes foal.

Who was he?, Why was Dash in the Everfree forest?, How was the girls going to keep Rainbow Dash under control? Those were the things Twilight was dreaming about, and so many more. Which had caused her to sweat and wake up from a frightning nightmare. Realising it was just a dream, she closed her eyes and thought to herself everything is going to be alright. She could handle anything and almost anyone. With that the lights went out and Twilight was asleep for the rest of the night.
