The New Elements
Prolouge- Twilight Sparkle Library
Load Full StoryIt couldn't have been a worse day to try and go to Twilight Sparkle Library. The rain was falling heavily, and the entire ground was slippery. However, the blue unicorn darting across the street didn't seem to care. Her mane was absolutely soaked, and clung to her, making her jerk her head back every once in a while. It seemed like a blessing when she finally stepped inside the library.
"Hello?" She called out, looking around. "I'm here, Aura." A familiar voice called. A quite old purple unicorn walked down the steps, smiling. Aura stood up straight, shaking herself off lightly, raindrops falling onto the floor. "I'm honored to be running the library, Twilight Sparkle." She replied, not even bothering to hide the excitement in her voice. Twilight Sparkle just smiled and floated the keys over to her. "I must go. I have to visit a friend." She said simply, and left without another word.
Aura moved into the library as soon as the rain stopped, which didn't stop until a few days later. After she moved in, everything became a bit different. First, she never saw Twilight any after that. Second, for some reason, everyone seemed...sad. Suddenly, the mailpony appeared at her door.
"Oh, Hello Ditzy." She calmly said, grabbing the letter from the unicorn. "Hello there! Sorry for your loss!" She said, starting to walk off. Aura had a look of confusion, and slight sadness as she opened the letter. "Dear Aura, we regret to inform you..." She started to read aloud. Twilight was on her death bed, and she had requested to see her, and only her. Aura fought back tears as she lay the letter down to get ready, tying a scarf around her neck.
The walk to the hospital seemed to take forever as Aura finally saw it in the distance, her heart pounding. What could Twilight want? She was only the owner of the library. She barely even knew her! Whatever the case was, she had to go see her. "Hello, I'm hear to see Twilight Sparkle." She sniffed, trying to fight back emotion. The nurse nodded and sent her towards the end of the hall, where she saw Twilight.
"Aura. I thought you would never make it." Twilight rasped, her voice showing that age finally caught up to her. She seemed to be just a pile of bones at this point. Aura stepped closer to the bed, frowning. "Twilight....." She murmured, pushing her snout to her shoulder. "I'm sorry.." Twilight simply smiled and sat up a bit. "Aura, I have an important message for you. A danger is looming over this land. You have to stop it. You are the Element of Magic, Aura. You must find the rest of the elements of harmony, or the entire world will fall. "
Aura saw black soon after Twilight finished saying this.
