A strange group of ponies approach Ponyville from the west, hell-bent on taking control of the apple supply in the region by any means necessary. Their first step is to remove Sweet Apple Acres from the equation. Negotiations for the sale quickly fall through, and the ruthless ponies prepare to take more drastic measures. When their plans put the Apple family's farm in the firing line, the family is forced to fight back.

Rallying all of Ponyville behind them, the Apple family prepares their act of defiance. They realise that to destroy the farm is to destroy their history and culture. With the population of a whole town backing them up, their voice can even be heard in Canterlot. Through friendship and solidarity, they can surely overcome anything. When one of their closest family friends is challenged with temptation, however, the vital bond is strained to breaking point. One pony's greed may be enough to lay waste to the best laid plans of the Apple family.
