I sat there silently, basking in my own insanity. I knew that Twilight and her friends must have gone out searching for me, and Pinkie must have stayed behind. I could hear the whispering in my head getting steadily louder, but it was still impossible to understand. I heard the door open and a loud gasp. Rainbow Dash ran in and crouched beside her deceased friend. A lone tear escaped and fell on the floor before she turned to me, rage smoldering in her eyes. She pinned me against the wall, screaming in my face. I couldn't hear her, the whispering had increased in pitch and volume as she shook me. She started to trail off, tears freely flowing down her face now.

"It was the slender man." I quietly whispered. She glanced up at me, slowly focusing in on my face. "He wants to kill me... And he'll kill anyone that gets in his way or tries to stop him..." I murmured, tears starting to flow down my face as well. "I don't want to die..." I trailed off, our tears falling freely now. I held her tightly, trying to gain some sort of comfort from her soft body.

She might be next..... Don't think about that, nobody is 'next'! I quickly told myself.

But it was of no use. I knew more and more ponies would die in the process of the Slender man's lust for my soul. And he can only kill me when I'm in those woods. Maybe I should just kill myself and get it over with.....

No. I can't start thinking like that. It's what he wants me to do. I buried my face In Rainbow's mane, and hugged her even tighter. To my surprise, she hugged me back. Whether it was from sympathy or if she sought comfort from her friend's death, I'll never know. I felt the familiar exhaustion take over me, and I felt myself drifting off to sleep. Not here, not now. I told myself, slowly letting go of Dash and pushing her off me. I slowly stood up, hands shaking. I glanced down and almost passed out in shock. The observer symbol, the same symbol the eyes of the proxies had once held, was stained on the chest of my hoodie in blood, dirt, and rainbow's tears.

I managed to choke out "Why?" before collapsing to the ground again, panting heavily. The whispering had finally subsided, allowing me to think straight. But before I could even whisper to Rainbow, the others came back in. I heard more than one scream as all the mares rushed over to their dead friend. Collective tears were shed, and I silently made my way up the stairs. They needed some time alone.

And I needed to make an important decision.

I flipped on the light switch for the room, making my way over to the small bed in the corner. I curled up into a ball and silently wept over my choices. I drifted off into sleep, but I knew that Slender man would haunt my dreams.

I did dream, but It wasn't about Slender man... At least not as far as I could remember. I recognized a face... The face of my mother? My dream was ended in an abrupt scream, and I jerked awake. I quickly sat up in bed, heart racing. I silently stood up and made my way to the door.

The sight I was greeted by made me stare in shock. The operator symbol in the floor had remained, painting a permanent black scar in the middle of the floor. Though the blood had been cleaned and Pinkie's body sent to the morgue, the sign of it remained. Twilight was staring in shock in front of the kitchen, a shattered cup lying on the floor with tea around it.

I silently made my way down the stairs and pushed past her. I grabbed a kitchen knife from the block, and took a deep breath. She had turned to me at the sound of the knife sliding out of it's wooden prison, gazing at the iron blade uneasily. "I need to end this. I'm sorry Twilight." I told her, before spinning the knife and plunging it into my throat. Well, I would have, if a purple aura hadn't stopped the blade from reaching me. The knife was then thrown across the room and I was pressed against the ground.

She walked over to me angrily. "You mean to tell me that you've been causing all these things to happen?" She screamed, and I flinched.

"He wants to kill me... Let me end it here and now... Please......" I begged, fumbling across the floor for the blade.

It was too far away, and I couldn't reach it. Twilight apparently cast a spell, and I felt myself losing consciousness.

But, unfortunately, he couldn't resist the chance. I could see Slender man towering behind Twilight, and though she had her eyes closed in concentration, I could see him wrap his tentacles around her, and she screamed as the spell was suddenly broken. She screamed louder as she was dragged into an abyss of darkness, and then was silenced for eternity....

My mind suddenly flew back to reality. She was standing over me, mouth contorted into a worried frown. "Are you alright?" She asked quietly. "Your eyes clouded over and you started having a seizure."

I was still shaking softly. I sighed and she let me sit up. I buried my head in my hands, trying to think of a solution for this eternal pain. Wait.... The notes! Maybe there's more? I quickly thought, jerking my head up and smiling for the first time that I can remember. "Um, are you okay?" She asked again, sounding even more worried now.

I turned to her. "The notes. There must be more. Where could I find them?" I quickly asked her.

She shrugged uneasily. "I don't trust what's going on, and I'm not letting you go and kill yourself out in the forest with that... thing..." She told me. "I should send a letter to the princess and ask for her consent to assist you with your... adventures." She started to walk away, making sure to put the knife back in it's block.

"Lucian." I randomly said out loud. She turned to me, confused.

"What?" She asked. I glanced up at her.

"My name is Lucian." I stated. I stood up and brushed my brown hair back, out of my eyes. "I don't think this Is going to end well, and I figured I'd need a name. Just saying." I quietly spoke. Twilight nodded.

"Alright, Lucian." She conceded, heading off into her room. She emerged soon after with a small wrapped-up note floating beside her. "Spike!" She called out. She wandered around the house for a bit, calling for whoever it was.

"Who's Spike?" I asked her when she sat down finally to think. Suddenly the scroll dropped out of her magic grip and fell to the floor.

"He went to Zecora's for some potions the day you arrived..." She quietly sobbed. Tears started to flow from her eyes.

"Why does everyone have to die?" I asked. "I could just end it, but you won't let me." I quietly reminded her. Seeing her break down made my heart ache. Why did this have to happen to her? I should have been able to prevent this.... I lowered my head in defeat. There was nothing I could do.

Suddenly Fluttershy burst the door open, running over to Twilight with an expression more scared than I had originally thought possible. "There was this... Creature... It looked like a human like our friend but he was pale white and It had big claws and It was watching me when I woke up! I barely managed to get out of the window in time to escape it..." Fluttershy whimpered quietly, glancing between me and Twilight. A distant memory stirred in me... Human-like, white, large claws..... The Rake? No, it couldn't be...

"The others!" I suddenly shouted. The two mares turned to look at me, confused expressions on their faces. "We have to check on the others, to make sure they're alright." I told them. "Fluttershy had an encounter, Twilight discovered.... Well, Spike's missing. Did the others encounter strange occurrences too?" I stated swiftly. The two glanced at each other.

"We need to hurry." Twilight stated, before running out of the house with Fluttershy in pursuit.

But the second I stepped out of the Library, all hell broke loose.
