Awakening

There was darkness. Then...

...there was light. "Awakening from stasis in three... two... one... awakening achieved."

The creature rising from the tube-like device shook its head. Stasis for a long time would take a little out of you. It had learnt that when it was a mere 2000 years old. "This is rather inconvenient..." it groaned, in a voice like a pony, but... the voice was... wrong.

The hairless orangutan - as that was the appearance the creature assumed - pulled its two gangly legs out of the tubelike device, and stood up. Its arms were held out, and two pieces of metal met its arms. Not that it needed them, of course, but it wouldn't help to be sure.

"It is time..." said the creature, its head tilting upwards as a helmet was deposited on its head.

"Time to reclaim the surface." Its helmet tilted upwards, two green, glowing eyes, pointing forwards.
