Ch.2 Paying the prize

The pie eater flew through canterlot’s magic schield as he entered its airspace and flew to the castle entering one of the highest towers. Once inside he was greeted with the sight of his personal guard Starswhipe, searching for something under the bed before looking back up at him. Eventhough the most guardes where stallions, Celestia had instead decided to give him a female guard hoping that her presence would prevent any boyish-puberty induced idea’s that the tower’s  occupant might could think off. Sadly enough this plan didn’t realy work because he managed to easily avoid and evade her lots of times.  “there you are, do you have any idea how worried I was about you?” the mare softly said in a worried and agrivated tone. “when are you not?” he teasingly said, nudging her to a chair. “relax a little, you take being a guard too serious” he gniffled.  “knock” “knock”

Starswhipe rolled her eyes.  “Its my job to guard you, you odd sweettalker. enter!”

and with that a royal guard named silver cloud came walking in. “your presence is requested at the dinning room for a royal family meeting”  the invité childishly moaned at the news. “b-but..  silver, I have never had a family meeting before and that sounds sooo.. booooring!”  star nodded at the guard. Silver circled around the now suspicious soon-to-be-luggadge, grabbed his victims tail with his mouth and started dragging the pony down the stairs towards the dinning room. meanwhile Starswhipe contentedly smiled, waving her hoof in the air yelling: “You’re going to be fine!”

Silver stopped draping the marble floor with his companion and released his tail, spitting the hairs out of his mouth and leaving the forced thinker to stand in front of the massive spruce-dinner door. Opening it slightly he saw a large hexagonal table with Celestia goddess of the sun, keeper of the holy light, Luna goddess of the moon, protector of the out-of-orbital heaven, Cadence guide of love, savior of prosperity, Blueblood spokesstalion of the nobles, voice of Equestria; and finally Shining Armor captain of the Royal Canterlot Guard, crusher of evil wherever it may hide. All of them sat at one table. Everypony felt it, confrontation was awaiting the last member of the pack. He was dead silent as he tried to walk to his spot at the table as regal as he could. “Dreamweaver, as you know there are four types of ponies: earth ponies who grow our food and run on our ground, pegasus ponies who manage our weather and fly in our sky, unicorns who teach our foals, research magic and cast spells in our world, and then there are alicorns like you and myself. We have been blessed with the best traits of all three races: the muscled body, the wings and the magical horn.”  The room was deserted of ambient noises. Dreamweaver could only guess what was wrong as he grew less and less at ease. The married alicorn Cadence and the unicorn Shining Armor where whispering something to one another. Luna was giving Blueblood the (I hate you but I can’t say it in public) stare, while Blueblood simply flashed an arrogant gesture. The newly arrived alicorn felt the eyes on him yet again as the enlightened princess contineud her story: “You have the ability to retract and extend your horn in and out of your skull without piercing your brains or inflict internal and external damage to your body, making you capable to look like a normal pegasus. Because of this you are allowed to make contact with others outside the castle, sticking to the story that you are a pegasus guard.

We heard about the incident in ponyville because of a complaint by one ‘Doctor Whooves’. How could you enjoy yourself like that at our poor Twilight’s expense? Even Though you are the size of an adult pony, you are still young in years. Young Dreamweaver, we expect you to be a gentlecolt and not some loose cannon.”  The guilty one looked like he could slice the table in two with his wings if he would have wanted, but knew that anger wouldn’t solve this. Calmly he let the words sink in and with a resigning huff he said: “I’m sorry I broke into somepony’s home, used the fade to black spell on a mare, blew Twilight awake with an air horn in the middle of the night and caused a splashbattle in the fountain”  It was suddenly very quiet in the room.

Luna broke the silence: “Little brother.. we heard you did something to Twilight, that was all we heard.

W-wait wait! You broke into somepony’s home and used that spell?”  the now in big trouble, brother quickly jumped out of his chair and galloped back in the direction of his tower. Only to be stopped hovering in mid-air surrounded by a magical blue aura casted by the night princess herself. “Not so fast, if you had not thought about it yet. You won’t go unpunished.” Blueblood got a dark smirk on his face. “I’ll think of a fitting judgment.”

The dining room started to look gloomier as white walls turned grey. Candace, Dreamweaver’s surrogate mother expressed a look of sheer panic while trying to come up with a plausible excuse “Luna? The event took place at night so it’s within your jurisdiction, do you think Blueblood should hand out said punishment? Shining Armor is the captain of The Royal Guard. He can probably think of an adequate verdict.. right?” Luna looked at Cadence and Shining

armor with understanding, but knew that wouldn’t be enough, knowing Shining’s  kind nature eventhough he was The captain. The white and blue haired stallion looked at his wife. “Where is that beautiful girl of mine getting me into?”  Blueblood was becoming aggravating but remained calm. He was quite straight to the point to cut that idea off before it could develop into reality. His tone was hostile and dark “I’ll have no word of it; I say this is to be resolved at once. GUARDS!” at that Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Shining Armor snapped to attention. Celestia reacted within a blink of an eye. “What he did isn’t that bad.” Celestia knew she couldn’t do much to stop that blond gentlecolt, Luna mentally checked off the incident. there was only one reason why the menacing colt got his way. Cadence looked perplexed. “On what grounds do you take the right to take matters in your own hooves?” Shining Armor sighted defeatedly. “He used that spell, that despicable nightmare of a spell.” Suddenly a bright purple flame conjured a a book into existence. Celestia opened, and slid the open book to Cadence who on her turn started reading the ancient blood stained red book.

Fade to Black

Allows the user to make it’s target experience a blackout, literally letting the vision of the victim be filled with darkness. Depending on how long the caster casts said spell, the chances of later occurring paranoia, nyctophobia, claustrofobia or even panphobia increase. This spell is mostly used as a tactic to immobilise a hostile individual, but there have been confirmations that it is also very effective as a torture technique. This spell is on the list of banned and never to be used spells. Warning: for least permanent mental damage, only cast for 4 seconds or less.

Cadence finished reading the book and shifted her vision to the two guards who had in the meantime tried to pull the frightened dark red alicorn towards the underground jail, located in the crystal caverns under Canterlot Castle. “I s-see..” she closed the book and rested her head on the table. Luna got a scroll hoofed to her by a guard, she breathed in deep before going on: “Anyhow.. I see we have to place some extra security defences within Trottingham Library seeing as the Changeling attack left some Changelings unconsciouse, we managed to capture some for study. There is a chance the swarm will try to get them back.” Dreamweaver struggled against the stronger and bigger royal guardes as he was dragged out of the room with a pleading face towards Celestia, who could only look away. Had she not controlled herself she would have saved her younger brother. Luna had barely looked away from her brother before there were other more pressing matters at hand. Candace felt resentment boil up for Blueblood and decided it would be better if she would do something else, she froze from the painfull sound of finality which came with a bang. Shining Armor tried to focus on the current issue. “I see the need for protection, but why take the Changelings in the first place? Wouldn’t it be wiser if yo..”

“BANG”

The door had been thrown shut by a light blue magic aura. The illegal spell caster’s heart dropped as soon as the loud bang reached his ears, He was done for.
