She yawned and rolled out of bed. As usual, Princess Celestia did a wonderful job. She slid her hooves into her bunny slippers and went to see if Spike was up yet. As usual, he was sleeping peacefully. A smile came to her face, and she whispered, "Ok, Spike. I'll let you sleep until I make breakfast." She walked out and into her kitchen, dreading its early-morning chilliness. She braced herself for a wave of coldness, however, she was met with the heat from a blazing fire and the smell of blueberry pancakes. She looked into the kitchen, ready to fight of any intruders. She was met with the site of Celestia making pancakes. Twilight's jaw dropped and she bowed, trying to stutter some kind of greeting. Celestia laughed, "You needn't do that, my dearest Twilight. Behind closed doors, I'm just like everypony else." Twilight stood and nuzzled Celestia's chest, "Whatever you wish." She said, smiling. Celestia nuzzled Twilight, her breath tickled her ear. After a moment, Celestia spoke, "So, where's Spike?" Twilight giggled, "He's still in bed. I'll get him now that the food's ready." Within moments, a sleepy Spike was levitated into the kitchen. "Huh? What's going on??" He mumbled. Twilight placed him on a chair, "The princess has been kind enough to cook our breakfast." Spike smiled, "Aw, thanks, Celestia!" Celestia laughed, "No need to thank me! After all you've done for Twilight, consider it my way of saying thanks." Spike dug into his food, "Alright; and consider my devouring it a 'you're very welcome'!" Twilight laughed and sat down, preparing to eat. Celestia moved her plate over to where she was sitting. Twilight looked at her, "Very funny." Celestia tilted her head, "Aren't you going to sit on my lap?" Twilight smiled, "Of course." And she moved and sat on her lap, her wings wrapped around her and she sneezed. "Achooo!" Celestia chuckled, "Oh my; I hope you're not becoming allergic to me! That would HORRIBLE!" Twilight looked up at her, "Yes, that would be cause of mass panic." Spike spoke up, "Can I PLEASE eat WITHOUT you two making google eyes?" Both mares looked at Spike, blushing. There was nothing but silence in the library until Spike announced he was going for a walk. Twilight knew he'd get as far as the Carousel Boutique and then he would stop in and see Rarity. As usual. Once he was out, Celestia locked the door and snuggled Twilight in front of the fire. After a moment, Celestia spoke, "Say, Twilight; do you enjoy being her?" Twilight looked at her, "Yes; very much so. I live in a library and have the best friends anypony could ever want." "I see." "Oh; did I not thank you for it?" Celestia looked at Twilight for a moment, "Not really, no. Though, I know you are thankful that I sent you here." Twilight felt a little bad. Not only was Celestia her love and mentor; she was also the ruler of Equestria and the sun goddess. How could she have NOT thanked her? Twilight looked back up at Celestia, "Well, late thanks are better than no thanks at all." Celestia nodded in agreement. "So, how should I thank you?" For a moment, Twilight thought Celestia's feathers went a slight pink color, but she dismissed it as a trick of the light. Finally, Celestia spoke, "Well, Twilight, we ARE alone right now. And, the doors locked. So, I’m thinking we spend some 'alone time' together." Twilight's eyes widened and she backed away. "What? I-I don't know. I-I mean I have thought about it, but I-I don't think I'm ready." For a moment, she looked like she might cry. Celestia caught her under her wing and held her close, "That's ok. I can wait." Twilight looked at her, still a little nervous, "I'm sorry." She whispered. Celestia looked down at her and kissed her, "Don't be. It's ok, trust me." Twilight calmed down and nodded, "Alright." She said. The two stayed curled up together in complete silence until Celestia asked what she wanted to do. Twilight was contented to spend the day snuggling and Celestia agreed. It sounded really nice on a cold winter’s day. Meanwhile, at Rarity's dress shop, Spike was admiring the purple-maned beauty. "Wow, Rarity, you're mane is perfect today." He said half light-headed. Rarity looked at him over her shoulder, "Isn't it always?" Spike nodded, "Of course! I just admire it, is all." Rarity smiled, knowing Spike really liked her. Though, she wasn't fond on him. She didn't 'hate' him, but, they weren't exactly friends, either. She turned back to her current project, an elegant gown with light pink lace around the edges and continued to work in silence, wondering how long Spike could take the silence and speak again. Spike began playing with his tail nervously, wondering when Rarity would speak again. He tried to think of something to say, but, his mind was a blank. He watched Rarity work, admiring her style. He thought for that moment, that it would be wonderful to have her design clothing for him. Except for one minor detail; dragons don't wear clothes all that often. Ponies don't either, mind you. But, dragons wear it even less than that. . Finally, after a tense ten minutes, Spike spoke up again, "So, Rarity, who is that dress for?" Rarity smiled to herself, finding amusement in Spike's discomfort in the last ten minutes. She turned to Spike for a moment, "Why, Sweetie Belle, of course! Silly boy, don't tell me you've forgotten that the Princess has invited us all to a New Year's party?" Spike blushed. Of course that's what the dress was for! How could he have been so stunned? "Well, I'm sure she'll love it!" He said, not realizing the delight Rarity had in his momentary stupidity. Rarity smiled legitimately happy that somebody else saw what she saw in the dress. Rarity turned back and changed the subject, "So, what's Twilight up to today?" Spike smiled, happy to have something to say, "She's back at the library with Celestia." Rarity smiled again, "Oh, really? That's lovely! Do tell them I say hi!" Spike nodded, "Sure thing. Twilight's been happier the last few months." Rarity nodded, "Well, of course! Oh, how I envy her. So happy and contented. Oh, how I wish I had somepony during this cold season." Spike's ears perked up. "Well, Rarity, I could spend a little more time here, if you'd like." Rarity smiled and acted as if she didn't hear him. "What was that, dear?" She wanted to see if he'd be brave enough to do that again. Spike blushed and shook his head, "Nothing. I was just rambling on." Rarity nodded, "Too bad." She thought, "I thought his offer was sweet. Though, I’d have to stress that there was NOTHING between us." She continued her work for a bit, chatting here and there. After another hour, she had finished the dress. She stepped back to allow Spike to see it. Spikes jaw dropped; "Wow, Rarity! It's beautiful!" Rarity blushed and did a lady-like giggled, "Well, thanks! I'm proud of it, too!" Spike took notice to the darkening skies and stood up. "I'm really sorry to leave to suddenly, but It's getting late and I should be getting back to the library before Twilight think's I've gone missing." Rarity laughed, "I understand! I have to go find Sweetie Belle now, anyway." Spike nodded and walked out the door. "Maybe I should get a new tux for the party." He thought; not noticing the gem stones Rarity had magically placed on him Spike's gift and a Pinky Pie promise Spike hugged himself against the cold wind. He found slight amusement in the ironic fact that he was a fire breathing dragon. He trudged on back to the library, fantasizing about hot coco and the roaring fire that Twilight and Celestia were no doubt curled up in front of. He sighed and found himself wishing that Rarity would give him just one chance. He then noticed a heavy little sack floating next to him. "What the heck?" He grabbed it and inside were gemstones and a note. He took the note out and read it; "Dearest Spike, I wanted to thank you for coming to visit me so often. I know I may come off as ice cold, but, it's just because I'm always so busy and have little time for much else. I hope that you don't think it's just because it's you who is visiting. Yes, I'll admit, my behavior changes when the girls are around, but you know why, right? Let me tell you, just in case: You can't ignore Pinky Pie, she requires supervision or else she'll break something. Rainbow Dash, actually, you can in a way, ignore her. She just stares. It's hard to ignore Apple Jack without her putting her snout in. I would be scared to ignore FlutterShy because she'd probably cry and I don't want to do that to her. And, Spike, remember what happened last time YOU ignored Twilight? She bucked you through the library window! No thanks! So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I actually DO like you and I wish I could get some time off just to hang out. I would take you up on one of your numerous offers to go to Sugar Cube Corner for lunch. I hope these gem stones show my sincerity and that you like them. Rarity" Spike almost dropped the stones; he was in shock. A snow ball whacking him in the head brought him back to reality; "Hey! Who tossed that?" He looked around and saw a puffy pink tail behind the snowman. He smiled and crept up to it, and very slowly, started melting it. Sure enough, behind the snowman, was a grinning Pinky Pie. She laughed, "Aw, you found me!" She said. Spike grinned, "It's your tail, Pinky. It always gives your location away." The pink pony laughed again, "Yeah. What'cha reading?" Spike put the note behind his back, "N-nothing." He felt himself blushing like crazy. Pinky tilted her head, "Aw, come on! I won't tell!" Spike looked at her, "Promise?" She nodded, "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Spike felt better. He knew that once Pinky did that, there was NO way she'd tell. He handed her the note and she read it. "Am I crazy, or did Rarity ACTUALLY write that?" Pinky giggled, "Well, you live in a library, so that on it's own makes you loco in the coco. But, Rarity wrote this!" Spikes eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, "Really? How can you tell?" Pinky handed him the note back, "Because it's written on the yummy delights stationary I gave her as a gift!" Spike noticed the border of candy and cakes and nodded, "That's nice. Thanks, Pinky." Pinky shrugged, "It's nothing. So, what's Twilight up to?" Spike poked the note into the bag, "She's curled up back at the library with Celestia." Pinky smiled, "Aw! That's so sweet!" Spike nodded, "I know. They seem so happy." Pinky nodded and Spike swore her brain rattled. "So, you going to the New Years party?" Pinky's eyes lit up, "OF COURSE!! After all, what's a party without Pinky?" Spike laughed, "True. Well, I should be getting in now. Good night, Pinky." Pinky nodded, "Alright. See you, Spike! And, don't worry, I won't tell anypony about the note." Spike smiled, "I know." And the two parted ways. Spike no longer felt the cold wind in his face, or that it tail was frozen. All he felt was an over powering wave of happiness. Rarity actually cared for him. That was the greatest feeling in the world. He doubted it was romantic. But still, it was a start. When he got back, the library was dark. He let himself in with the spare key and crept upstairs. The pain of a frozen tail was kicking in. "Ow...ow..." Spike hid the gift in his basket and went downstairs. As he suspected earlier, Celestia and Twilight hadn't moved and were still curled up together. Spike smiled, it was a cute image. He tiptoed to the fireplace and lit it. His tail slowly began to turn back to normal. He didn't notice Celestia's tail and he backed up onto it. "OUCH!" Celestia jumped up, scaring Spike half to death and tossing Twilight across the room. Twilight his the bookshelf with a 'THUD'. "Ow! My head! Why'd you do that?" Celestia looked at her, "I'm sorry! Spike stepped on my tail!" Twilight looked at Spike, annoyed that she had been woken up and now she'd have to reorganize all the books. The headache wasn't helping things, either. "Spike, please be more careful." Spike nodded, "Sorry. Do you need an ice pack or anything?" Twilight shook her head, "No, I'm fine." Celestia spoke up, "Are you sure? Perhaps I should check." Twilight giggled and Spike walked out. He didn't want to watch them make out. "I'll be in the kitchen making hot coco. You guys can have some, too." A few minutes later, they walked into the kitchen, a love-struck look in their eyes. Twilight grabbed a cup of coco and sat down. Celestia, however, headed for the door. "I must get going. I have many things to do for the party. And, I'm a princess. So, my taking the day off has backed many things up, I'm sure." Twilight pouted, "Please? Just five more minutes?" Celestia kissed Twilight's still throbbing head, "I'm afraid not, hun." Twilight nodded, looking like she was going to cry. Celestia sighed, "I'm sorry, but I have to go. You'll see me at the party, ok?" Twilight nodded again, "Fine." She mumbled. Once Celestia was out of sight, she stood up and went to the stairs, "I'm not trying to be rude, Spike. But I just want to go to sleep." Spike nodded. He understood and could see the pain in his friend's eyes. He knew it wasn't because of the bookshelf thing, either. She really wanted Celestia to stay. "Goodnight, Twilight." "Night, Spike." Spike stayed up for a bit longer, and organized the books. Twilight still needed to put them away, but that would only take a second. He yawned and went upstairs. He was beat and fell asleep instantly. New Years Bash (1) Twilight lay awake, looking out her window. She wondered if Celestia's younger sister, Luna, who controlled the night had deliberately made the sky so lonesome tonight. Not a single star shone in the sky. She sighed and rubbed her head, wincing. She looked over at Spike, who was completely out of it. She envied him for a moment, wishing she could sleep as peacefully. Her heart still hurt over Celestia's quick departure. She understood why she had to leave and all, but, she only had to stick around for another fifteen or twenty minutes; just long enough to tuck her in. Twilight shook her head, "Get a grip, Sparkle! You're an independent young filly! Something as stupid and childish should NOT be on your mind!" She huffed and went into the bathroom to check for swelling. Thankfully, it wasn't anything noticeable. She looked at herself for a few more minutes, until she heard tapping on her window. She quickly went to investigate it, only to find that she had been up all night, brooding over Celestia and her friend, Rainbow Dash, sitting on her patio. She quickly opened the window to let the blue pegesus in. She zipped in and landed on the floor. "Hiya Twilight!!" She said. Twilight shushed her and pointed to the basket. Rainbow giggled, "Sorry." She whispered. Twilight brought her downstairs and started boiling the kettle, "So, are you going to the party?" She asked, trying to sound normal. Rainbow nodded, "Of course! The Wonder Bolts are going to be there!" Twilight smiled, happy that her friend was so excited. Rainbow looked at Twilight, knowing something was wrong. She placed a hoof on Twilight's shoulder and hugged her slightly; "What's wrong?" She felt Twilight's mood change and she sighed; "Mind if I tell you over a cup of coffee?" Rainbow nodded, "Of course!" Twilight tried to levitate the cups, but the previous head trauma made it hard to do. So, she just handed Rainbow her coffee and sat down. For a moment, they sat in silence. Then, Twilight spoke; "I know Celestia's royalty and everything, really, I do. But, last night, when she was here, I just really wanted her to stay. Not for long, just until I fell asleep." Twilight's voice was unnaturally pitched and Rainbow knew she was going to cry. "Don't cry, Twilight. Please!" She whispered. But, it was too late, Twilight buried her face in her hooves and began sobbing softly. Rainbow understood why; though Twilight understands why Celestia's busy, she would like for just ONE night, to have Celestia with her until she fell asleep. Rainbow looked around and noticed the books that had not been put away and then the lump on Twilight's head. She went to say something, but Spike walked into the kitchen. "Hey, Rainb-Twilight! What's wrong?" Twilight looked at him for a moment, "I wanted Celestia to stay." She said; more tears rolling down her cheeks. She then smiled, "Thanks for organizing the books. I'll put them away when my head feels better." Spike nodded and smoothed Twilight's mane. "It's OK. I'll do it. Plus, after they fell on you, I think you should spend some time apart." Twilight smiled, but didn't laugh like Rainbow and Spike had hoped. So, Spike breathed on Rainbow's mug, reheating her coffee. She took a sip and spat it out, "Ow! This coffee needs to be about twenty percent cooler!" With that, Twilight exploded with laughter. Spike noticed her horn light up and the books went back onto the shelves. Rainbow noticed this, "Man, I know friendship is magic, but laughter seems to be just as strong!" Spike laughed and nodded. Once Twilight stopped laughing, she pulled herself back into her seat. "Alright; now that I'm feeling better, who wants waffles?" Spike's stomach growled and he chuckled. Twilight turned to Rainbow, "How about you?" Rainbow smiled, "Alright, thanks!" Soon, the three friends were sitting around, eating and talking about their plans for the party for the next night. Rainbow said she was going to take the Wonder Bolts out to dinner. Twilight laughed and wished her luck and said that she was going to get Celestia to dance with her and not take no for an answer. Rainbow nodded and wished her luck. Spike laughed, "Is this before or after you make smooches in the closet?" Twilight looked at him, "Funny. I suppose you're going to ask Rarity to dance?" Rainbow began laughing like crazy and Spike blushed, "Yes, Twilight, I am going to." Rainbow stopped laughing, "Holy sugar cubes! You're serious, aren't you?" Spike nodded. Twilight looked at him and smiled, "Good luck, Romeo." Spike hugged her, "Same to you." He put his plate in the sink and left for Rarity's, still excited about the note. Spike walked in and as usual, Rarity was busy. "Hey, Rarity." She stopped working right away and turned to him; "You got the message?" Spike nodded, "Yes, and I was floored. It was really sweet." Rarity blushed and batted her eyelashes, "Well, I was serious. I feel terrible about giving you the brush off." Spike looked and her and patted her hoof, "No need, M'lady. I understand." Rarity nodded, "OK. So, would you like to see my dress for the party?" Spike nodded quickly, "Of course!" Rarity pulled a curtain aside, showing an elegant, but not too over-the-top gown. Spike's jaw hit the floor and Rarity laughed and picked it up, "Watch out, Spikey, you'll attract flies!" Spike shook his head, "Well, what do you expect when it's YOUR work I'm seeing?" Rarity nodded, "True." Spike really wanted to ask her out then and there. But, he knew that she wanted to give Prince BlueBlood another chance after how he had acted at the Gala. So, instead, he asked, "So, you're giving BlueBlood another chance?" Rarity nodded, "Yes. I have a princess complex, I'm sure." Spike smiled, feeling a little hurt. Rarity picked up on it and nuzzled him; "Spike, I told him this a few weeks ago. I also warned him that ONE gala-repeat and he would never get another chance again. He walks over girls all the time, but I'm not like them." Spike felt his pulse increase and he stood up, "No, Rarity, you're not! They all act the same way, thinking they have a chance. You're a one-of-a-kind woman. Hence the name Rarity." Rarity looked at him for a moment and hugged him, "You are so sweet!" Spike hugged her back, "Another thing, I don't care if he's Celestia's nephew or not! He upsets you, it's ME he deals with!" Rarity back away for a moment, "Uh, Spikey...there's smoke coming from your nose." Spike shook his head, "Sorry. I got a little defensive there." Rarity nodded and opened a window to air the place out. "I think it was sweet." She then leaned in and kissed Spike, only to hear the bell over the door tinkle. New Years Bash (2) Rarity and Spike froze and their hearts’ started pounding. They then heard a familiar, high-pitched giggle, it was Pinky Pie! "Aww! Cute!" She said. Rarity looked at her, "Oh, Pinky, it's you!" She said, still blushing. Pinky nodded, "Yeah. And, don't worry; I'm not going to tell." Rarity let out a sigh of relief, "Oh, thank heavens!" Spike smiled and hugged Pinky. "Thanks for being so loyal!" Pinky blushed, though it's hard to tell with her pink fur. "Aww, of course! If I broke my promise and told, I'd lose two friends! I wouldn't want that!" Rarity thought for a moment, "Now, I know there's a joke included with this whole scene. What was it?" Spike scratched his head and thought, too. A light bulb went over Pinky's head, "I know! I know! It's because Rainbow is the element of Loyalty, and I'm laughter!" Spike looked at her and then laughed, "True. Though, this morning, she was laughter." Pinky nodded, "So we switched elements, today?" "It seems like it." "So, Rarity, may I see the dress?" Rarity nodded, "Of course! It is your dress, after all!" Rarity went into the back of the shop and within a few minutes, came back with a pink dress with jewels shaped like Pinky's cutie mark. . Spike stared in awe. And Pinky's eyes lit up. "Oh my goodness! It's perfect!" Rarity smiled, "I'm glad you think so!" Pinky tackled her and gave her a huge hug, "Thank you, Rarity!" Rarity wheezed some kind of response and pushed Pinky off her. Pinky giggled, "Sorry." Spike ran his hand over the fabric, "Wow, Rarity, you never cease to amaze me!" Rarity smiled, "Thank you, Spike. You wouldn't be trying to sneak a bite of the dress, would you?" Spike blushed, "Well, no. But the gems look so tasty!" Rarity smiled and levitated a bowl in front of him, "Here, take these. I have no use for them." Spike smiled, "Thanks!" Pinky looked between them, "So, are you two together now?" Spike almost choked on the stones, "What!?" Rarity shook her head, "Of course NOT! I have a date with BlueBlood!" Pinky tilted her head, confused. But, rather than get into an argument with Rarity, and risk humiliating Spike, she dropped it. "Ok, then. Well, I have to head back, now." She turned and walked out the door, still confused. Spike looked at Rarity, "Why did you get so offended just then?" Rarity looked at him, "Whatever do you mean?" Spike rolled his eyes and turned away, "When Pinky asked if we were together, the look in your eyes and tone of your voice is what happens when you get offended." Rarity couldn't think of anything to say, and reached out to pat Spike's shoulder. She didn't mean to sound like she did. Spike continued, "Rarity, does the thought that you actually like me, though you swear you don't actually bother you that much?" Rarity's jaw dropped, "No, Spike, it doesn't. And, I swear to Celestia, I never meant to sound the way I did." Spike looked back at her, "R-really?" Rarity nodded and hugged him, "Really." The two remained hugging for a moment, then Rarity spoke again, "Spike, not to ruin this beautiful moment, but I really have to get back to work." Spike nodded, "Of course. So, who owns the dress you're doing now?" Rarity looked back at it, "Apple Jack. Which is why I'm having such a hard time with it." Spike tilted his head, "Well, why is that?" Rarity looked at him, "Well, I understand that she isn't fond on girly things. But, making a dress for her knowing that," Rarity made a chocolate éclair appear in front of her and she gulped it down, "Is almost impossible!" Spike thought for a moment and then spoke, "Well, what if I brought her here and you worked on an agreement so you could make the dress, and it wouldn't be too girly for Apple Jack, but still girly enough for you to make?" Rarity looked at him, "By god, Spike, that's perfect!" She said, hugging him again. Spike smiled, "Well, then, I'll go fetch her for you right now!" He walked out and headed for Sweet Apple Acres. Once he got there, he looked for AppleJack. "Where is she?" He wondered. He spotted her older brother Big Macintosh and decided to ask him. "Hey, Big Mac! Have you seen AJ?" The stallion looked down at him and slowly chewed the wheat stem in his mouth, "Ee-Yup. She's over in the barn." Spike thanked him and ran to the barn, hoping AJ wasn't too busy. Thankfully, she was sprawled out in the hay, seemingly tired from working so hard. "Uh, AJ?" He said, half scared to approach her. AJ groaned and looked at him, "Oh, howdy, Spike. Just taking a break, what bring you here?" Spike smiled, "Well, Rarity is having trouble with your dress for the party and was wondering if you'd be kind enough to come to the shop and work out an agreement so she could finish it." AJ looked at him, "Well, then, I guess I should mosey on down there." She rolled off the hay pile and walked out, "You coming?" Spike nodded, "Yeah. Can I ask you something?" AJ nodded, "Course you can!" Spike motioned to Big Mac, "It's the middle of winter, right?" AJ nodded, "Yeah." "So, where does he get the wheat stem??" AJ stopped for a moment, "You know what? I have no clue!" They both looked at Big Mac for a moment, wondering. Finally, AJ turned away, saying it was best left for another time. Spike nodded and they both went back to Rarity's. Spike hoped they could agree on something, their fights often get so out of hand, that it takes a natural disaster to get everything under control again. Back at the library, Twilight and Rainbow were sitting around, watching TV. Rainbow looked at Twilight, who though was happier than she had been that morning was still down about the Celestia thing. She sighed, "Twilight, you shouldn't swell on it, you'll only end up feeling worse." Twilight nodded, "I know." Rainbow thought for a moment, wanting to cheer her friend up. A knock at the door startles both ponies. Twilight went to the door and opened it. On the step was Celestia and Luna. Twilight tried to smile, but, she was still upset. She moved aside to let them in, "Hello, it's great to see you both." Luna nodded, "It's nice to see you, too, Twilight!" Rainbow came into the kitchen and greeted Luna warmly and then turned to Celestia, "You've got some nerve showing up here after how you've made Twilight feel!" Twilight stepped between them, "Ok, Dash, thanks, but I can handle myself." She then leaned in and whispered, "Please don't get yourself kicked from the party!" Rainbow snorted and dug at the ground like a bull getting ready to charge, still upset. But, she looked at Twilight, "Fine. I'll be in the living room if you need me. Wanna come, Luna?" Luna nodded, wanting to get away from the tension, "Yes, please!" She darted in behind Rainbow before Twilight could say anything. Celestia looked at twilight, "I know I said I was like everypony else when I'm in here, but that doesn't mean your freinds can mouth off to me." She said, stamping her foot. Twilight sighed, "Listen, I'm sorry for what Rainbow just said and the tone she used. But, I think you'd understand more if you could have seen what I was like this morning. And, I also think you would thank her for making me feel better." Celestia backed away, not used to seeing this side of Twilight. After a moment, she spoke, "Alright, you have a point." Twilight nodded, "I know I do, which is why I think that rather we get into a huge fight over this, we sit down and talk about it." Celestia agreed and sat down, "And to a certain pair of ponies listening in on this, I can send one of you to the moon and ban the other from ever having anything to do with the Wonder Bolts again." The sound of Luna and Rainbow scurring away from the door and back to the sofa could be heard. Twilight sat down across from Celestia and sighed, nervous about actually having this conversation with Celestia. Finally, she spoke, "Listen, I know and understand you're very busy. However, last night, maybe it was the head trauma, but, I really wanted you to stay for a bit longer." Celestia nodded, "I know, trust me. But, I was busy last night." Twilight nodded, "I know that. But, just for ONE night, couldn't you have stayed here until I fell asleep?" Celestia heard the tone of her voice change and she reached out and hugged her, "Don't start crying. Please, if that's one thing I can't stand, it's you crying!" Twilight hugged her, "You know I was up all night brooding over you? And, when Rainbow came over, I screeched?" Celestia looked at her, feeling bad for how Twilight had felt, "Wow, I'm sorry." Twilight hugged her again, "It's alright." In the living room, Luna and Rainbow were sitting on the sofa, totally silent. Finally, Luna spoke, "So, what happened?" Rainbow sighed, "What did your sister tell you?" "Only that Twilight wanted her to stay, but she couldn't." Rainbow nodded, "Well, this morning, after Twilight had been up all night brooding, she told me, and she cried for a bit." Luna nodded, "Well, it sounds like they've made up." Rainbow looked at her, "What do you mean?" Luna smiled, "Listen." Rainbow listened and then looked towards the door, "Guys! we can hear you making out! Stop it!" Twilight giggled and Celestia called back, "Why are you two listening in?" Rainbow rolled her eyes and motioned upstairs, "Wanna fly through Twilight's window and go get some food?" Luna nodded, "Yes." The two went upstairs and through the window they flew, far away from the make-out scene in the library. How FlutterShy got Angel FlutterShy was sitting on her sofa, looking through a pet-care magazine. She was contented to be alone and found it rather soothing. "Are you a good pet owner? Well, obviously!" She continued reading, not paying attention to anything else that was going on. After a while, she tossed the magazine aside and went into her yard. As usual, it was filled with all sorts of creatures of all sizes and shapes. She smiled and sat down. Her pet bunny, Angel joined her. She giggled and nuzzled him, "Hello, Mister Bunny!" Angel looked at her and tapped his foot and glared at her. She pulled away, blushing. Angel may have been the cutest bunny ever, but treating him like it would result in a few nasty looks, and if you're not FlutterShy or you're alone with him, you may lose a limb. He looked up at her, twitched his nose and hopped away. He really loved FlutterShy, he's just a grumpy bunny. This, to his annoyance, makes him cuter. Once he was out of sight, he did a happy dance of sorts. Tough as he may act, he likes the attention he gets from FlutterShy. Mostly because he IS her pet and he DOES love her. He also owes her his life, though he'd never admit it. He peeked around the corner and saw the yellow Pegasus going about her business, feeding and chattering to the animals and he couldn't help but smile. He hopped into his house and curled up, thinking back to the day FlutterShy crashed to Earth. It was perhaps ten years ago, on a day that seemed like any other. He was only a new born bunny at the time, just old enough to stand on his own two paws. He remembered that his parents had rounded him and his six siblings, four brothers and two sisters up and said that they were relocating to a bigger den. He also remembered how he didn't want to go. This hole had been all he knew and leaving it was a scary thought. But, he had to go; he wasn't old enough to fend for himself yet. So, he joined the ranks and followed his parents into the Everfree Forest. He had a bad feeling about it, but his sisters told him he was just paranoid and that his parents had spent days planning the path they would be taking through the forest. He tried to argue, but they ignored him. They had only been going for about ten minutes when they heard something growling. They all huddled together and looked around, looking for whatever it was. But they couldn't see anything and the growls were getting closer and closer. Angel remembered how scared he was and how he wanted to wake up and have it only be a dream. He tried to run to his mother, but something stopped him, about six feet away, to glowing red eyes were peeking out at him and his family. He backed up, and motioned for his family to turn around. But, it was too late, whatever it was had attacked and had taken his mother and sisters with it. That was the last time he ever saw them alive. Angel sat up, tears in his eyes. He obviously missed his family a lot, but this was the first time in a while he had actually cried about it. He looked around for FlutterShy, hoping she was nearby. He couldn't see her in the yard anywhere, so he figured he'd check inside the house. Sure enough, she was sitting on the sofa. He hopped over to her and sat next to her. She looked at him, "Angel, what's wrong?" Angel looked at her, and in her magic way, she knew. "Thinking about your family, again, huh?" Angel nodded. FlutterShy snuggled him, and for once, he didn't fight it. For once, he hugged her back. After a few minutes, he regained composure and sat back up, giving FlutterShy a thankful look. Maybe he should be less grumpy sometimes, at least with her. He knew he treated her like a doormat, but he didn't mean too. All he wanted to do was help her be more assertive and to voice her opinions more often. He hopped off the sofa and headed for the kitchen, FlutterShy following close behind. For a moment, he considered having one of his 'bunny fits', but, he decided against it. FlutterShy opened the cupboards and looked at Angel, "So, what do you want?" Angel looked around. Though he is a rabbit, he was getting sick of carrots and would do anything for something different. He noticed something green and leafy on the top shelf and hopped up to get a better look. FlutterShy took the hint and took it out for him. Sure enough, it was lettuce. FlutterShy gave him some and he hopped out, back into his pet house. Once he got comfortable again, he began eating and his thoughts went back to his family. He remembered the state of panic after the creature grabbed the girls. His father and brothers charged after the creature, but that ended badly. He shook his head and continued eating. He often wondered what life would be like if his family was still alive. Would he still be FlutterShy's pet? His mind wandered back to the forest, and how scared he was now that he was alone. He wandered back through the forest, hyper alert and ready to bolt. When he finally got out, he thought he was safe. But, he was wrong. He was smaller than the average bunny and was an easy target for pretty much anything. He thought he was meant to be alone forever, then, a high-pitched squeal could be heard. He bolted into the bushes and looked up. He thought he was seeing things, because a pony was falling from the sky. Since when do ponies FALL from the sky? He watched for a moment then covered his eyes, not wanting to see how this ended. But, the screaming stopped, and he looked up again, the pony had been caught and brought down to Earth. Angel remembered how cute she looked and hoe excited she got when she saw all the creatures around her. Then, a loud explosion occured, scaring him even more. He blacked out. He woke up later, a beautiful pink-maned pegasus sitting next to him. He saw the look in her eyes, the amount of love she could give, and he knew that FlutterShy was going to love him forever.
Twilight and Celestia's day in.The sun shone in through Twilight Sparkle's window. "Maybe I should get a new tux for the party." He thought; not noticing the gem stones Rarity had magically placed on him
Spike's gift and a Pinky Pie promise Spike hugged himself against the cold wind.
