A dash of life

It had started just like an average weekend morning. I woke up around 9:30 AM, laying in bed thinking about how I was going to start my day. I pulled myself out of bed and got dressed. I went over to my computer as I always do, and I smiled as a pony wallpaper greeted me. I had felt some pain in my chest when the day had started, but I ignored it like it was nothing. I started up Skype and began talking with my friend. I never seem to actually leave my room much anymore, with my parents bring snacks up to me and my friends talking over the web. I had all I needed in my room, all but one thing.

All I have wanted was a real Rainbow Dash. I know I am a little strange to have a crush on Dashie, but I was ok with that. I wondered if I would love her till I died, but I didn't think so. Little did I know how wrong I was.

It had starting getting later at night, about 9:30 PM, and I was finishing up conversation with my friend, when I suddenly felt the pain in my chest come back. It was a horrible pain, it felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest and ripping out my heart. I immediately fell to the ground in pain. My friend was on video chat and saw that, so he asked what was wrong. I knew what was wrong… I was dying. My parents walked in with dinner and dropped it on the floor once they saw me. I told them with a weak breath that I knew I was going to die today. My dad rushed to get a phone to call 911, but I told him not to. I knew that there was no way I could be helped. I started coughing up blood. It fell to the floor and stained the carpet.

I struggled to pull myself up and get on my bed. If I was going to die I might as well die on my bed. My parents where crying at the though of loosing me, so I leaned up and hugged them both, saying "Don't worry, I love you both, always have and always will. Remember to carry on though life despite the fact I died, I don't want you to waste the rest of your lives, goodbye…" I was struggling to breath as I said that, and I could feel myself loosing more and more life every second.

As my breath slowed and my eyes closed, I could see a bright light. In that bright light I saw something… I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, it couldn't be true. I saw a rainbow maned pony come out of the light. I stared into the purple eyes, and with my last breath came a voice… "I love you…" I smiled, my breath stopped, but at least I was able to die happy. I just wished I had more time to spend with her before my death had come... I wanted a 2nd chance.

I had rushed Twilight to hurry up, knowing we didn't have much time to finish the portal. She was trying as fast as she could, but we both knew it was going too slow. Suddenly there was a bright flash and a portal had appeared in front of us. I went through. I saw him, dying before my eyes, and said what I needed to before it was too late… It was three words, but they where very powerful… "I love you." I had felt his pain as he took his last breath and died. The others rushed in through the portal behind me, but we all knew it was too late.

I laid down next to him, laying my head on his chest, wishing I was quicker. I knew he loved me, but I was never able to tell him, until his last breath. I saw the smile on his face, and that made me somewhat happy, knowing i was able to make his last few seconds happy. Than celestia came though the portal. I knew what she was going to try to do, so I backed up. There was a bright glow from her horn, and soon the whole room was glowing bright. As the light had faded we all felt the magic of an attempted revival spell, but I didn't seem to have worked. "Im sorry, I..." "I know" Rainbow interrupted Celestia. "I just... I just want some time alone with him."

I laid my head on his stomach, and began crying. I wish I had more time to be with him. It would be hard to get over the death of him. I made one last wish for him to have a 2nd chance, he had done nothing wrong. Than I felt a slight movement. I thought I imagined it, there was no way he could be alive...  He started breathing. I saw his eyes start to open, I smiled, as my wish was granted.

I had begun to open my eyes, wondering if I was in the afterlife. I knew I had died, and that I shouldn't be breathing. I felt someone next to me, so I took a lot of strength to pull myself up. When I looked next to me, I saw there was somebody next to me, but once my brain started working I saw there wasn't somebody next to be, but somepony! The moments before my death came back to me, and I remembered the words Dashie had said before I had died. I looked at her and said all that could be said, "I love you too, Dashie." I saw a smile on her face, and I knew this 2nd life was going to be a happy one, and I was going to make the best of it.

I looked around, and saw no one was in the room. I hugged Dash, I could see she was crying, she thought she had lost me, but she hadn't. Not even death could keep us apart. I knew we where meant to be with each-other for a long time.

Afterward Celestia explained what had happened after I had died, and Dash explained how she had been trying to get to me for a long time, and had just now succeeded, but thought she was too late. I explained to my parents how I have had a crush on Rainbow for a bit now, but was holding it inside, because I didn't want people to think of me as strange. After that my friend said "You aren't strange, you can like whoever you want, and you don't need to care what others think." I smiled when my friend had said that, it was good to know that others understood.

Twilight said that she would work on a spell to stabilize the portal to be permanent, and make it so only me, dash, celestia, and she could get through. Celestia also said she might be able to make a portal change me between pegasus and human when I went through, so I could enjoy a good life in Equestria and Earth. The others went back to Equestria to work on the portal, my parents and friend went back to there normal day, and Dashie and I spent some time together.

Life went on as normal, the only difference was that I went to Equestria every day or two, and Dashie also visited me sometimes. I soon got a cloud house next to Dash's and became a citizen of Ponyville. I was happy with my life, and spent a lot of time with Dash. I always had a crush on her and had dreams of me and her, but I never thought it would actually happen... but I knew it happening, and it was time to ask. The response was a simple 2 words... "I do"
