I grit my teeth Focusing in on the dark purple energy before me. Beads of sweat roll down my face as I try Hold the vibrations, it flickers then cracks. I strain to hold it together, but the shaking grows more violent. No. Please don't. Desperately I focus all the will I can muster into the stone. It's not enough. In a flash of yellow Everything changes.
I was in a dark space. No not dark, Just void of light. I feel as if I'm falling. An airless wind is rushing past me. I must be somewhere, yet I'm not in any definable space. I try to wrap my mind around it all, But I just can't grasp this... place. I feel an awareness. It examines me with no more than a passing curiosity, Then it's gone. I fall... or go (be?) further through. A mass before me now something large, and almost familiar. I reached out to it. I see a blur of green and blue. I hit something. Pain, then everything faded.
I awoke with a massive headache. Groaning I opened my eyes rolling over onto my side. Looking around I noticed I'm in a small room. A cell by the looks of it. The walls are made of cut stone bricks, the floor is covered in straw, and there is a wooden door with a small barred window on one side of the room. Standing up I quietly walked over towards said door and peeked out. I saw a large corridor of the same make. it was lit with a low orangey light. I heard far away footsteps and voices getting closer. I could barely make out what they were saying.
"That's what you said last time, and as I remember. It turned out to be a mangy dog." An aged sounding male voice Stated. He sounded A bit tired, and slightly annoyed.
"Yeah, but this time it's different. I couldn't mistake another animal for this. A small horse blue as the sky. It's got a horn, too." Replied a younger, also male voice.
I backed up. That means me obviously. They seem to think I'm an animal. What should I do? They are coming to check on me, so should I confront them directly or pretend to be asleep and assess further? I'd better just speak to them I'm sure I can talk my way out of this. Right?
I heard the jingle of keys, then a latch. The door opened and standing before me were two strange creatures. They were bipedal, had arms with hands, and No fur (gross). The one on the right seemed to be on the elderly side he had graying dark hair. He wore a black robe, and was gaping at me in amazement. The left one was taller with more defined muscles. He was dressed in plain brown clothes with a leather vest. Likely for protection rather than style. I also noted he has an ax strapped to his belt. He was looking at me with a smug sense of pride.
I tried to think of a good thing to say. Something not too rude, but still says serious. Intelligent and commanding, but also friendly. "Err... what am I doing here?" I so eloquently asked.
That got quite a reaction. They both gasped and jumped back. The larger one pulled out his ax and moved to shut the door, but I pushed at it with my shoulder to keep it open. I was heavier so hopefully He wouldn't be able to close it.
He Moved to swing his ax at me, and I pushed at it with my magick. He had quite the grip, and I struggled with him to avoid getting chopped to pieces.
"Wait, stop." I shouted from between clenched teeth.
"Stop let it speak." The old man motioned at the bigger one. He ceased trying to hack me to bits, and backed away slowly.
"Who are you, and what am I doing here?" I asked cautiously. Something about me makes These people very jumpy, and I'd rather not set them off again.
"I am Duncan Balderston. Derrick here brought you in, He'd found you unconscious." He gestured at the larger one. "I had not realized you could speak..." His face grew thoughtful for a moment. "No matter. "
"Regardless. You still owe me for it." Derrick rudely butted in. "Sixty crowns if it turned out to be something you liked was the agreement."
"Yes, That was the agreement wasn't it. Here you are now run along" He handed him a small leather pouch that jingled metallically.
After inspecting what the bag contained he turned and left. "Beast'll Probably kill 'im" He chuckled to himself just before getting out of earshot.
After a moment Duncan spoke. "Come, Let's get out of these smelly pens and find a more comfortable location." He gestured for me to follow, and led me to a cozy little sitting room. "Sit, sit. Make yourself comfortable." He gestured at a stuffed red sofa.
I tried several times to find a non awkward way to sit on it. This obviously wasn't made for equines. I gave up and laid on it.
"So..." He asked after giving me time to figure out his furniture. "What are you?"
"Well I'm a pony. More specifically a unicorn." I said awkwardly. If it stays questions and he doesn't want to look at my internal anatomy first hand, this may turn out okay.
He nodded, Before bombarding me with an array of questions. "Why are you so strangely colored. Whats the significance of that mark on your rear? Whats your gender? Where did you come from?"
"Uhh... I was born this color. This is my cutie mark it represents my talent. I'm a mare. Equestria. May I ask, where am I now.?"
"Oh of course. You are a mile south of the city of Rosnavar in lyndaria" He stood up. "Stand up I want to have a good look at you."
"Um... Alright." I got up off the seat. I need to get out of here. Something is up and I don't want to find out what.
The man circled about me inspecting various body parts. Did he just pick up loose tail hair? "Interesting. You're much like a miniature horse, yet your Head and eyes are larger. You also seem to be capable of making more facial expressions." He continued to circle around poking and prodding.
"I'm a bit tired" I lied. "Perhaps we could continue this tomorrow. You said you had a room for me?" If I can get him to leave me alone perhaps I can find a way out of here.
"Hmmm? Oh, yes. Yes I'm sure you're tired. Over here." He led me down another hall and to a small room. The room was small, with wood paneling It had a bed in one corner and a very small window. The floor was..."
