There’s gonna be a new pony arriving tonight! Oh my gosh I’m so excited!” Pinkie exclaimed, bouncing around the library. Twilight chuckled as she watched the pink pony. “Yes Pinkie, we were all there when she announced it, now help me get the banner ready for her.” Lifting a paintbrush that had been dipped in a bright red she brushed it against the banner and started to write 'Welcome To Ponyville!' “Oh yes, Twilight that looks amazing!” Grinning, Pinkie raced off for a moment before coming back and throwing a bag of gold glitter all over the banner, and the purple mare. “Oh hehe sorry, Twilight.” Shaking her head, Twilight giggled with her before shaking the glitter off and putting the brush down. “Oh wow Twilight the banner looks super duper now!” Both of them looking at it, they smiled and nodded. “Indeed Pinkie, well we better put up over the town hall.” Each taking an end of the Canvas, they trotted out of Library and into the center of town, by now, most of the town had gathered to welcome the new pony. Usually there wouldn't be such a turn out for a new pony but Princess Luna had came to Twilight and her friends and asked that they make her feel welcome, insure she was in a place that was lively and safe and if any pony was good at welcoming someone new, it was Pinkie, even if she wasn't good at the safe part. (As long as she didn't get the cake mix and confetti mixed up again.) The party Twilight had thought of for this new pony was at first, just her, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie but, Pinkie had decided that if they needed to make the newcomer know Ponyville was lively and a happy place that the town needed to get involved, Twilight protested at first but soon gave in when Pinkie gave her a puppy dog look and whined and so, the resident's of Ponyville where now gathering in the town center to greet the pony when she arrived, Twilight managed to lay down one rule though, not to make it into a massive food fest, Pinkie of course tried to convince her otherwise so Applejack offered to bake a couple fritters and other things so ponies didn't go hungry. Now that how everything would go was agreed they had gone about their own ways to get ready. As the purple and light pink pony arrived at the gathering, the banner was handed to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy to put up, Pinkie then trotted towards Applejack, who was setting up her small stall of apple fritters, pies and cakes. “Hey Applejack, ooo~ those look yummy! Can I have one?” “Ah not yet Pinkie, these here need to cool down yet, plus we need some for when the new pony turn’s up to eat while she's at your ho down ya know?” "It’s not a hoe down, it’s a party but a hoe down sounds fun, Oooo which one should I do?!” “Calm down, Sugar cube.” Apple Jack chuckled. “Your party here is gonna be great An’ I’m sure the new pony will love it.” Nodding Pinkie Pie bounded off to set up her balloons and party cannon. “Uhhum can I have every ponies attention?” mayor Mare said from atop her platform. “Now that we have the wonderful banner Twilight Sparkle made up, we can begin with the party.” “Party time!” Pinkie screeched before setting off her party cannon, causing some ponies to jump and other’s just to laugh at her over enthusiasm, swatting bit's of confetti off that fluttered onto them. Once the shock from her cannon died down, ponies started to enjoy themselves, dancing to the music, eating the famous apple family food, yet with each passing hour ponies started to become bored with it all and instead stared off into the distance that the new comer was supposed to arrive through, waiting for them to finally arrive so they could say hello before going about with thing's that needed to be done. As it started to become dark ponies left until only Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Rarity. The music had stopped and the only the crumbs of the food left scattered. “Where in tar’ nation is this filly?” Applejack asked, a slight frown on her face. “I don’t know Applejack, maybe she got lost?” Twilight suggested, they all knew it could be logical but 6 hours late? Another hour passed and the moon was down beaming down on the six ponies. “Ok that’s it, I need my beauty sleep.” Rarity huffed, having became fed up for waiting for the newcomer before she stretched her front legs out before lifting one up to her forehead. “Goodness knows what all this waiting has done to my mane.” “I Agree, it’s getting late.” Twilight added. “I do need to make sure all my lovely little animals are in bed all warm and snug...” Fluttershy slipped into the conversation quietly, head lowering as she spoke. “So it’s settled, we’ll come back in the morning and see if she showed up then.” Applejack said before trotting over to her stall. Grabbing the paper she had the list of things she needed to bring, she proceeded to write on it. ‘Sorry we couldn’t greet you, it got really late and ya’ll know how a pony need’s to sleep. If you do show up find the Library, Twilight will be there.’ “There, then she won’t have to wait out in the cold all night.” “She won’t have to me and Pinkie will stay.” Rainbow Dash puffed out her chest proudly and grinned. “i can stay awake all night and Pinkie’s had wwwaaayyy too much sugar to sleep now.” As the all turned to look at Pinkie they could see just how right Rainbow Dash was, the filly was bouncing around in circles with a balloon in her mouth, too energetic to stay still. “Alright, if ya’ll sure, sugar cube.” “I’m positive, you guys go get some sleep.” By this time, Pinkie had hopped her way over to them. “Oh yes! We’ll wait for her, I can’t wait to see her and ask why she was late and give her party cake.” “Uh pinkie? You already ate it.” RD pointed out causing Pinkie to giggle and snort. “Oh Rainbow Dash, I ate the first one but the extra special one I’ve saved for her.” The ponies gave each other a slightly worried expression on the fact it would be extra special. “Uh that sounds... Lovely, Pinkie Dear.” Rarity said, trying too chose her words carefully. “ “Well we better head off to bed, you two take care.” Twilight said, smiling at them. “Make sure you get her to her house ok?” And with that the four ponies walked off to get some much needed rest, leaving the pink and rainbow pony to it. Moment's after the other's had headed off into the distance, Pinkie gasped loudly and turned to Rainbow Dash. “Wait! I don’t know where she lives! How can we take her home if I don’t know?! Because If I don’t know then you might not know and she’ll have to sleep on the cold streets for the night! *Gasp* But what if it turns out she doesn’t have a house at all?! She’ll have to live on the streets, begging for bit’s to get food!” “Pinkie calm down, I know where she lives ok? It’s near my place.” Pinkie calmed before looking at her with confusion. “Near you? But you live up in a cloud house how can she live near you? Unless her house is under yours and if it is what if your house collapses it’ll land straight o-“ “Pinkie, she’s a Pegasus, she’s living in a cloud house near mine.” Rainbow rolled her eyes before chuckling. “Ooooohhhhh~ I get it now. Wow another Pegasus, hey you should get her to join the wonderbolt academy with you.” “I don’t know if she’d like that, we don’t even know if she’s a decent flier or not.” “U-Um, hello?” A soft voice floated through the air. The ponies turned and looked at the entrance to Ponyville and there stood another pony, a hood over her face. “Oh hey you must be the new comer, I’m Rainbow Dash.” “And I’m Pinkie! I made you a caaaakkkeee~” Racing off, she appeared again a second later with a large cake on a tray, three tier. The first was covered in pink icing, the second yellow and the third a baby blue. “Oh, that’s very kind of you.” The pony smiled gently at them both. “I’m Stormie Night. You can call me Storm if you want though, I don’t mind. Um.. It’s nice to meet you both.” Looking up momentarily, she flicked her hood off, revealing her midnight blue coat with, shocking crimson red eyes sparkling at them both. Her mane was spiky and shoulder length, fringe covering her right eye. The colour pitch black with a streak of Byzantium going down it, her tail was the same. “Well, Storm we’ll show you where your house is, well more me than Pinkie.” Rainbow chuckled. “Thank you, Rainbow Dash.” She said softly. As she went to walk towards her, she suddenly froze in place, hoof in the air as her eyes widened. “Um Storm you ok?” Following her line of sight, neither of the ponies saw anything before looking at each other and shrugging. A moment passed before Stormie Night slammed her hoof down and shook her head. “Gah! I-I’m sorry.. “ She mumbled, ears flattening as she looked away. “It’s fine, come on I’ll take you home.” RD gave Pinkie a worried look before walking off, Stormie Night close behind her. “Well I guess I’ll sleep. NIIIGHTTTT!!” Pinkie screeched to them before stretching out her hoof's and bouncing off to Sugar Cube Corner and getting some much needed sleep. Rainbow and Storm walked in silence, Dash still slightly worried from earlier. “So.. This is it.” She said, stopping under the cloud house. “Thank you Rainbow, I’m sorry if I scared you earlier.” Rainbow grinned and nudged her. “Nah it’s fine, everyone has moments anyway sleep well.” And with that she flew off to her own house. Looking up at the cloud, Stormie Night slowly stretched her wings out, revealing their battered feathers, some even missing and flew up into her house. Looking around, she couldn't help but smile as she saw the welcome banner that had been moved from the town hall and into her living room and somehow Pinkie’s cake was under it. Shaking it out of her mind, she pulled off her cloak and hug it up. “What a couple of idiots.” A hissing, deep voice said, shaking her head, she shut her eyes tightly. “They’re not idiots so shut up and leave me alone tonight.” “Hmph, suit yourself little filly, but I wouldn't be saying stuff like that out loud to me if I bug you, they’ll think you’re crazy.” The voice chuckled before falling silent. Sighing in relief, she fluttered up the stairs and flopped onto her bed, hooves tired from walking for so long. Closing her eyes, she pulled the blanket over her body before drifting off. Author's Note This is my first fan fic and first book I've wrote and shown people as I write it so please, crit yes but make sure it's constructive and not just nit picking. E.G Mary Sue's usually have that so you can't or your OC is a Mary Sue, that's nit picking, please don't forget it's only the first chapter and it will delve deeper so don't judge the new character yet x.x Thank you.
