The Final Lesson

Chapter 1 The Arrival Part 1

It was a normal day in ponyville, it was just like any other day. Spike was cleaning the library, Rarity was designing a new dress, Applejack was taking care of the farm with Big mac, Rainbow dash was Sleeping on a cloud high above ponyville with a daring do book covering her face, Fluttershy was at her cottage, caring for her animals and trying to get angel bunny to eat his greens, Pinkie pie was at sugercube corner baking cakes and rainbow cupcakes. All the while twilight was doing her Normal routine, Wake up, get spike up, make breakfast, Brush her mane, then head off into town to run errands. Everyday a different thing happened, the lavender mare had learned so many things about friendship and its worth. She had learned that her friendship with those ponies is not to be taken lightly or ignored, but there was one part of friendship that the lavender mare never experienced before, Love. Will this mare be able to learn the importance of love? Or this a lesson she simply can't learn. Twilight walked through the market, picking up food, books, occasionally talking with ponies, but something felt off. She thought she could feel some sort of presence in the air, something that was strong yet scared. This peaked twilight very curious mind but she pushed into the back of her mind treating it as a childish hallucination . The rest of the day went on like any other day, rearrange the books, helping spike do some of his chores, occasionally getting visits from her friends. It was 6:30PM twilight was relaxing in the library, until a loud sudden knock came at her door. Twilight got up from her seat in the kitchen to go and see who it was at her door, she opened it only to be pounced by a familiar pink mare. “TWILIGHT!” Pinkie screamed at the top of her lungs “COME OUTSIDEFAST! THERES SOMETHING SUPER DUPER AMAZING GOING ON OUTSIDE!” and as quickly as she rushed in she was outside again. Twilight arouse from her dazed state trying to comprehend what had just happened “Gosh pinkie what now....” Twilight spoke with an irritated tone.

she lifted her self up and walked out the door and into the outside, she looked around at all the ponies gaping up at the sky, worry and confusion on their faces. Twilight looked up trying to figure out what the others were seeing, when she beheld something she'd never seen before. The sky was darkened  because of the clouds filling up the sky, but that was not the unusual part, the unusual part was the fact at the center the clouds were bellowing upwards in a spiral, spinning with lighting illuminating the very center. Twilight beheld this with her eyes as big as plates. “What is this...” Twilight asked her self trying to think of what this is happening before her eyes.  The giant hole that split the sky open flickered blinding flashes of red and blue through out the whole sky. The next sight set twilight back in surprise. Two meteorites came out of the giant rift in the sky. One Crimson red, the other ocean blue The red one went crashing towards the crystal mountains, far from ponyville. Twilight watched as the blue one fall and she could tell just be looking at it where it was going to land “the everfree forest!” twilight shouted to her self, she quickly darted to the forest chasing the meteorite. “A meteorite! A real meteorite! This is a once in a life time find!” Twilight yelled to her self as she trotted as fast as her hoofs would allow to the forest. The lavender mare ran as fast as she could, the meteorite roared above her as it crashed down a mile ahead of her. “There it is!' She yelled as she could see the blue light emanating from the creator her surprise, there was no flames in sight, the only thing that gave any hint that this was the right spot was the strange blue light. Twilight creeping closer and closer, she felt no heat coming from the creator which made her even more suspicious but she did feel warm inside when she got closer to it. She couldn't explain what this warmth was but it made her feel safe.

She finally reached the edge, the unicorn peered over the edge to see what had landed. “what is tha-” Twilight's words were cut short as something shot out of the crater. Twilight screamed in surprise she jumped back falling onto her back, she instinctively pushed her self back with her hoofs, she looked up at what had just leaped out of the hole. What stood in front of her looked to be something that she had seen every day “Is that....a pony!?” Twilight spoke out loud to her self. The pony was darkened, his eyes glowing a sinister red, but his body was emanating with a strange but warm blue glow. Twilight had hundreds of thoughts going through her head all at one time. “What is this!? What am I going to do!?” but one thought that popped into her mind made all the others go silent “IS he...going to kill me?” the black pony looked down t twilight with it's dark red eyes. It let out a long breath before taking another, he opened his mouth to speak only uttering one word. “Run.” The black pony fell forward into a patch of sun light shinning through the trees. Twilight stood up slowly trotting over to the earth pony that laid unconscious before her eyes. “Who is this pony?” Twilight asked her self trying to figure it out. Her thoughts were cut short by loud shouts “Twilight!” A group of ponies yelled out twilight's sparkles name, the sound of that made twilight smile warmly. The group emerged from the forest panting “Twilight what were you doing!” the cyan Pegasuses shouted, twilight smiled some-what proud at her findings “Making history.” The other ponies looked at each other confused at what she meant “Girls.” Twilight started “We need to get this pony back to the library.” She pointed to the black earth pony laying unconscious on the ground. “UH whys that twi?” Applejack asked, twilight looked at her trying to think of a quick way to explain it . “He's the meteorite that fell from the sky.” the others face looked extremely surprised, rainbow dash hovered over to the black earth pony reaching out with one hoof expecting her hoof to be burned “he's not hot.....Actually he's shivering...” twilight turned to her friend smiling “Lets get him to the library we'll be able to help him there.” the group helped up the black pony and carried him to the library, applejack ran ahead to get the pony crowd to relax and tell them everything was alright. Once inside the library twilight laid the black pony down in her bed, she turned to her friends and assistant. “So Twi tell us again...whose this pony?” Twilight looked back at the pony asleep in her bed “He's the meteorite that fell from the sky.

All the ponies looked at each other confused and worried for their friends sanity “Are you sure deary?” the white unicorn asked twilight sounding a bit worried. “if you want proof you can go back and look at the hole he fell in.” The ponies looked at each other once again then back at twilight “Well...ok then lets go down stairs and let the fella sleep alright?” Twilight nodded and turned to her assistant spike “Spike can I trust you to watch him and tell us if he wakes up?” Spike nodded and saluted at attention “You can count on me twilight!” Spike said with a confident tone in his voice. The six ponies trotted down stairs and into the kitchen, each took a seat. “A pony from the sky....Aside form Pegasuses I don't think I've ever heard of a pony doing that.....Let alone an earth...” Rarity spoke out her confusion, the others clearly thinking the same thing “Who is this pony...?” Twilight thought to her self attempting to figure out where he was from but it would seem they would have to wait until the pony awoke.

Several hours had past and Celestia had already brought down the sun, well Luna brought the moon high into the sky. One by one each of the ponies left, the last to leave was applejack expressing her concerns to twilight about this mysterious pony “Be careful twi, we don know who this pony is or what he can do.” Twilight gave applejack a reassuring smile. “Don't worry Applejack, you know I can take care of my self, Besides...” twilight's eyes softened when she looked up towards her room where the pony slept “I think....He doesn't want to hurt anyone...” Applejack looked at twilight confused but decided it was best she left her for the night. “Well...alrighty then.....Just be careful ok twi?” Twilight nodded, the yellow earth pony closed the door and trotted back to her farm where her family members awaited. Twilight let out a long sigh before turning back to t”No....no stop it...Shuren....SHUREN!!” the black pony awoke from his slumber in a loud scream, he shot up up panting not even realizing where he was, he swung his head around and noticed twilight, in an instant the pony had twilight against the wall” Who are you!?” the pony screamed with fear yet anger. “Where am I!? Are you one of shurens!? If so you wont......wait....” The pony seemed to have noticed something that had peeked his curiosity. “...You're a  horse....heh.” He started t laugh out loud letting go of twilight rubbing his head “a horse...a  horse can't talk...” Twilight looked at the pony curiously yet unamused “Actually I can.” The pony screamed jumping back in surprise. “A TALKING HORSE!?” twilight covered her ears at the sound of the ponys ear piercing girly scream “Listen you have to calm down” the pony screamed again “IT DID IT AGAIN!” Twilight was slowly getting angry at the pony, he wouldn't calm down no matter how hard twilight tried “Listen...you're a pony and you're talking as well....” The pony looked at twilight as if she was crazy “I'm not a horse! I'm a human!” Twilight tilted her head in confusion at what she had just heard “A human...? You mean those things that walk on two legs I read about...?' Yeah those! I'm that!” Twilight looked even more confused. “No...You're clearly a pony.” The black pony became annoyed with twilight and her insistence that he was a pony “Listen” The black pony reached out his hoof 'I”m a human OK? I'm not some hor-” The pony paused when he noticed his hoof,  his pupils shrank at the sight, he let out a loud girlish shriek flailing his hoofs around inspecting his whole body” NO FINGERS...A TAIL!...A MIRROR!” The black pony started looking around the whole room for a mirror, He attempted to stand to find one but merely fell back to the floor, clearly unused to his pony body. Twilight levitated one with her magic so the pony could use it, the black pony looked into the mirror, his face became full of grief and shock “OH god....Oh god...I...I really am a horse....WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!?!?!?”

It took twilight half an hour to get the pony to finally calm down, through the time twilight found out the pony had idea how to walk seeing as how being a pony is new to him. She had helped the black earth pony onto the bed allowing him to sit, he burred his face in his hoofs trying to figure out what has happened. “What is this....where am I...?” Twilight put a hoof on his shoulder in an attempt to get him to calm down. “You're in equestria ...and you're at my library in ponyville.” The black pony lifted his head from his hoofs, looking at twilight showing his Bright red eyes under his spiked up mane. “So.” Twilight started “Who are you...? and where are you from..?” The black pony looked back at his hoofs, clearly still confused about the whole situation “I'm....I'm ruby...” Twilight smiled a bit finally getting to now the pony's name.” “And....Where I''m....from.....” Ruby gritted his teeth, his eyes showing pain Well his face tried to hide it, but to no prevail. “I'm from no where....I'm no one...” Ruby's eyes became a bit dimmed, his voice became shallow when he spoke those words, twilight how ever became saddened because he wouldn't tell her where he was from. “Oh...Well...Um.....” Twilight attempted to think of another question to try and lighten up the mood for the depressed pony “So...Why did you fall from the sky...? and do you know what that Red meteorite was?” Ruby's eyes brightened when twilight asked him those questions, his curiosity clearly returning. “What do you mean? Falling from the sky? Red meteorite..?” Ruby tilted his head in confusion, twilight continuing to press the questions “You fell from the sky! You looked like a blue meteorite and there was a red one as well, you landed in the woods well the other looked as though it was gonna touch down over by the crystal mountains.” Ruby became slightly annoyed with the mares pushy attitude towards him. “Listen last thing I remember was in front of my executioner, the next thing I know you're sitting here questioning me on my life...” Twilight curiosity increased at the mention of the word Executioner “What do you mean”Executioner?” The black pony's eyes became sad again, his voice shallow. “....I've said too much.,...you don't need to know anything about me...in fact...” He rose his head and stared into twilight's eyes. “It's best you throw me out and forget I ever came here.” Twilight's Jaw dropped in astonishment, shes never heard a pony speak of them self's like that before “Throw you out!?” The black pony stared into twilight's eyes as if trying to find an answer somewhere. “It's for you're own good you just throw me out.” Twilight became furious, she grabbed the pony by the shoulder holding him “Listen you just came out of the sky! I can't just forget that! You're the finding of the century! I just can't let that walk right out my door!” Ruby became agitated at her choice of words “You could be the key to finding life in another world” Ruby's eyes flared with rage and anguish, his voice became loud and terrifying “NO!” He screamed as loud as he could.

“You don't want to find I! You don't want to meet them! My world....My world is a place no one should ever go! Ever!” Twilight was set back by this sudden change in attitude, he went from this quiet pony to this shrieking figure in her face, ruby had grabbed twilight's shoulders, he was shaking her telling her this over and over “No one want to go there! No one should ever go there......No one!...no one...” Ruby's hoofs dropped back to the bed, his eyes shaking, his pupils shrunk, his whole body gone stiff and cold. “I...I'm sorry I didn't mean to” Ruby raised a hoof to twilight's mouth to silence her “You talk to much....” Ruby's voice became quiet again, but kind as apposed to the shallowness it held before. “I should apologize...I”m sorry...So what is your name...?” Twilight smiled a bit, this pony was interesting, curious like twilight her self yet the shyness of fluttershy, twilight giggled a bit  to her self. “I”m Twilight sparkle, pleasure to meet you.” Ruby tilted his head when he heard her name “Twilight sparkle...? What a strange name....” Twilight narrowed her eyes at his response to her name “Well ruby is a name particularly given to stallions.” Ruby let out a sigh “Human” He said with annoyance in his voice. Twilight seemed even more annoyed “Well you're a pony now and not a human so pony.” ruby began to get irritated with twilight's persistence “But I was originally a human so human.” Twilight Began to get angry at ruby. “Pony.” Ruby retorted” Human.” Twilight began to yell at ruby now “Pony! Human! Pony! Human! [pony Human! PONY! HUMAN!!” the two were in a locked stance, both glaring into each others eyes yelling at one and other in a childish argument, the argument ceased when a loud laughter came from behind the door into twilight's room, twilight let out a loud sigh and trotted to the door. “Spike....” The green dragon who was laying on the floor clenching his gut looked up at the lavender mare.”You shouldn't ease drop on another pony's conversation,...especially in her room!” It took spike at least a minute or two to finally regain his breath from laughing “I'm sorry twilight...but you make it sound like you two were doing weird things in here....why...were you going to?” twilight s face turned a bright shade of red at the thought of that. “No!” she screamed her voice had gone high pitched. “With a total stranger!? Spike that's disgusting!” spike kind of smirked. “What...playing a bored game with a total stranger sounds fun...” Twilight face went blank for a minute, her mind had gone silent, her red face vanished, she simply starred at her assistant and his childish non-sense. “Spike....I think it's time you went to bed...” Spiked looked at twilight with pleading eye's “but twilight!” twilight levitated the green baby dragon with her magic and carried him to his bed “No buts mister!” Twilight laid the dragon in his bed, tucked him in and went back to her room with the black pony still sitting there “Now then....What do you know to do as a pony/...?” Ruby thought for a minute, he attempted to try and experiment, he tried to stand but merely fell flat on his face”...aside form talking nothing...”  he talked muffled his face on the floor, twilight let out a long sigh and helped him up.

Twilight helped him sit back onto the bed and stood in front of him “OK...Looks like ill need to teach how everything..from walking...to proper pony etiquette....Ill go found some foul training books....” Ruby's face went blank, the notion of a pony training him how to walk and talk to other pony's properly simply confused him, but one thing confused him more then anything else “foul training books...?...but foals are baby ponies right..?...so in other words....” Ruby's face became irritated and angry, his voice became frustrated and angry as well. “My luck....Maybe I should have died.,...this humiliation....” Twilight trotted back into the room carrying several books with her magic, she set them on the table and trotted back over to ruby, she smiled and levitated a book over to her that read Guides to teaching a baby foal. Ruby's face went from annoyance to horror. 'You're not training me! A full grown man! Stallion.” Twilight interrupted him, he rubbed his temple “OK....A full grown stallion how to walk!” Twilight pushed the book into his face “Buuut you keep falling onto the floor because you don't know how to walk! You need a masters help!” Ruby became irritated and annoyed with twilight's persistence. “No I don't! Twilight became frustrated with his stubbornness “Yes you do!” Twilight voice slowly rising. “No I don't!” Rubys voice becoming louder and louder “yes you do! No I don't! Yes you do! No I don't!” In the room underneath theirs the baby dragon laid in his basket trying his hardest to sleep well the two continue to yell back and fourth at one and other “...can't those two save their love for another time..?” Spike muttered to him self an attempt to fin ally fall asleep, eventually he finally drifted off into dream land.

Upstairs several hours later the yelling had finally ceased, with the two fallen fast asleep, twilight was fast asleep on top of ruby's back well he used the books for a pillow on the floor, The two snoring as quietly as fouls would, nothing was stirring, nothing was moving, all that could be heard were light sores and the sounds of the crickets and frogs outside, the night drifting on as the two laid dormant on the hard wooden floor, the dawn of the next day fast approaching to bring fourth a brand new day for this human-turned pony.

Author's note: This is part 1 of 4 for the arrival, this will be part of a giant story I plan to do, the chapters go as such: The Arrival, The transition, The truth and the invasion Each ark doing it's own span, most of these such as the Arrival and the transition will last for at least 4-5 parts, well the Invasion Will last up to 7-8 parts.
