Combined with the artifacts from thousands of years ago, the Elements of Harmony, they defeated Nightmare Moon, returning the balance of day and night, as well as Discord, defending Equestria from falling into a state of chaos. Now, nearly twenty years have passed, and the bearers of the Elements have handed down their adventurous ways to a new generation of children to discover the magic of friendship. This is the tale of the new Defenders of Harmony. This is the Legacy. =================================== MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 on DeviantArt Chapter 1: Ponyville =================================== The sun shone bright over Ponyville as the town slowly woke up. Shops were opened, fillies were sent to school, and ponies from all over the large population filled the streets. The interesting thing about this particular day, was that more ponies from all corners of Equestria were coming in to witness an event that was the first of it's kind: The Solar Eclipse Extravaganza. After the Royal Sisters, Celestia and Luna, were finally reunited after Luna's banishment, they planned a very rare event to occur once every twenty years or so on the same day that Nightmare Moon was defeated by the Users of the Elements, to represent the everlasting bond between them. This would be when the moon passes in front of the sun for a brief moment in time. All across Ponyville, the preparations had been made. Local bakers such as the Cake family or Chocolate Ganache took care of the catering. Musical talents of Sweetie Bell, Brio Strings, Shades, and a number of others would perform. And of course, Ponyville's top party pony, Pinkie Pie, would be hosting the event live on television, a new device that allowed ponies to watch shows and live events from the comfort of their homes. As all the final preparations were made, a door opened at a certain boutique near the town's square, and out walked a majestic lavender dragonpony mare with blue eyes purple scales on her underbelly and front claws, and a mane of the same color with a shock of green added in. On her flank was the image of a pink gemstone surrounded by sparkles representing her magic ability. On her way out the door, she turned back to an older white unicorn, focusing on a mannequin she was designing a dress on. "Okay, Mom. I'm heading out to meet my friends for the eclipse!" Amethyst called. "Alright, have fun, my widdle Amy-Wamy!" Rarity answered, still referring to her in the same nickname she had when she was young. Her daughter rolled her eyes, only mildly annoyed with being called 'Amy Wamy' nowadays, as she closed the door behind her and headed out towards the market. She had seen Ponyville's marketplace busy before, but due to the festivities, it looked like rush hour in Manehattan. Buyers were piling up by the dozens in front of booths selling items such as moonstone necklaces harvested by Luna herself, or just simple carnival foods. Even regular booths such as Winery's grape farm booth was seeing more customers than Amethyst had seen in a while. There was only one thing odd she had noticed: the only booth that wasn't seeing any business was the one from Sweet Apple Acres. At it were two mares, one with an orange coat, light green hair and eyes, and a dark red apple for a cutie mark, Rome Beauty. The other was her mother, Applejack, whose only difference from her daughter was her straw colored mane and usual ten-gallon hat. "Howdy there, Amy." Applejack greeted the dragonpony, noticing her first. "Hi, Mrs. Applejack, RB." Amethyst replied. "Where's all your customers?" "We ran outta stock early." RB answered in her usual New Trotter's accent. "Uncle Mac went back to da farm ta get more." "Yeah, basically, that whole crowd over there..." Applejack pointed out the swarm of ponies at the other booths. "...are just browsin' til we get us s'more apples." "So I guess that means you'll be busy for now?" Amethyst asked the younger Apple, her smile slowly fading. "I guess. I'm sorry Amy. I know I promised ya we'd hang out today." Rome Beauty said sadly. "Relax, Sugarcube. You can go hang with yer friends." Applejack reassured her. "Ya mean it, Ma?" RB turned to her mother with a hopeful look on her face. "Sure. Yer uncle and Ah can handle it when he gets back. Plus, y'all've been workin mighty hard since yer aunt got too big ta be applebuckin'." AJ explained. "Ya deserve some time to relax." "Great! Thanks Ma!" RB said as she hugged her before trotting off with Amethyst. Just as they ran off, Big Mac returned with a cart full of fresh apples and pastries. "Got all the merchandise, Big bro?" Applejack asked. Before he could utter an "Eeyup", the crowd suddenly surged onto their booth, everypony suddenly shouting their orders at once. "Maybe Ah lied ta RB when Ah said we could handle this." AJ said aloud. "Eeyup." her brother said in agreement. ================================ "By the way, I've been meaning to ask, how's your Aunt Applebloom doing?" Amethyst asked Rome Beauty as they left the market. "Fine. It's starting to look like she and Uncle Snails are gonna have that foal between now and the end of da week." Rome answered. "By the way, who're we pickin' up next?" "Might as well be Surprise. Sugarcube Corner's right down the stre.."Amethyst started before bumping into an orange unicorn with a paintbrush for a cutie mark. "Oh, sorry, Crystal. Wasn't watching where I was going." Amethyst apologized. "It's no trouble, Amy. I'm just waiting in line for Sugarcube Corner." the unicorn answered. "But dats across town..." Rome Beauty pointed out. "I know." Crystal groaned, pointing out the extremely long line in front of her. "I haven't seen a line this bad since Lyra started selling those plushies a few years back." she continued. "Ya mean those pouches where the pocket is in her..." RB started before Amy used her magic to 'zipper' her mouth shut. "Anyways, we should get going. Nice talking to you!" she said before dragging her friend along with her. At the front of the line, Cup Cake and Pumpkin Cake were busy taking orders as Carrot Cake, Pound Cake, and Pound's apprentice, Bran Muffin, cranked out trays of muffins, cookies, cupcakes and more baked goods to deal with the multiple orders coming in. Amy and RB walked around the line to the front, catching the attention of the ginger maned unicorn mare running the register. "Hi, girls. I'm guessing you're hear for Surprise?" Pumpkin asked, while making change for a customer at the same time. "Yeah, is she around?" Rome Beauty asked. "I'm not sure." Pumpkin replied before turning to her twin who had just dropped off a batch of Danishes. "Have you seen Surprise around, Pound?" "No. I sent her to pick up another sack of flour from the storeroom five minutes ago, and haven't seen..." Before he couldfinish somepony yelled "SURPRISE!" very loudly, and a cloud of flour suddenly coated Pound Cake in white. Hovering above him was a white Pegasus with a curly yellow mane, purple eyes and a cutie mark of three balloons, and she was laughing her flank off while Pound sat there with an unamused look and a sack of flour poured all over him. "There's the flour you wanted, Pound!" Surprise said through her laughter. "Next time, could you bring one that ISN'T opened?" Pound snapped. "Ah, lighten up, bro. That was funny!" Pumpkin giggled as she used a spell to clean him up. "By the way, you're friends are here to go play with you." Pumpkin said, gesturing to Amethyst and Rome Beauty. "Oh! Hi girls!" Surprise smiled as she hopped over the counter. "You ready to go?" "I was just about to ask the same thing, Surprise." Amethyst answered. "Okie Dokie Lokie! Let's go!" Surprise cheered as she cartwheeled towards the door and backflipped over a colt waiting in line, landing outside the bakery as her two friends followed. =================================== "Do ya think she's even home?" Rome Beauty wondered aloud. "I'm not sure..." Amethyst answered. After knocking on the door to the town's library several times, the three fillies were contemplating if Moonlight was home or not. "Silly fillies! She probably just can't hear us. That means we should knock louder!" Surprise suggested. "I'm not sure that's a..." Before Amethyst could finish, Surprise had already set her plan into motion by banging on the door with both front hooves and shouting at the top of her lungs, "MOONLIGHT? ARE YOU HOME OR NOT?" Suddenly, the door was thrown open as a dark lavender unicorn, with bright pink eyes and a jet black mane that hung over her left eye, shoved her hoof in Surprise's mouth. "Could you be any LOUDER, Surprise??" Moonlight Shadow snapped in a hushed whisper. "OF COURSE!!!!!" Surprise yelled into a bullhorn she seemed to pull out of thin air before Moonlight snatched it away from her. "Quiet! My dad just put my new sister down for a nap." Moonlight explained before her dad, Ponet, came to the door. "It's alright, girls. None of that woke Galactica." he assured his daughter and her friends. "Even after all that yellin'?" RB asked. "Honestly, I doubt the end of Equestria as we know it could wake her up." Ponet chuckled. "Well, I guess this means I'm heading out, Dad." Moonlight sighed as she stepped outside. "Okay then. Have a fun time." he said in farewell as the group of what was now four young mares walked off. He quietly closed the door behind him and headed towards the kitchen in the back. As he did, a loose floorboard he stepped on squeaked, which set off a loud wailing of a newborn filly upstairs. "For the love of...It took me twenty minutes to put her to sleep!" =================================== "So I guess this means Golden and Sunbeam are getting picked up last?" Moonlight asked. "Seems that way." Amethyst answered as the group entered Ponyville Arcade, which was packed with colts and fillies at arcade games. They walked up to the ticket counter, where a sky blue unicorn about their age just finished helping a colt redeem the tickets he won at the various video games in the arcade. "Can I help you with something girls?" the unicorn asked, her light brown eyes fixated on the group. "No thanks, Eight Bit. Just looking for Sunbeam." Amethyst said as they walked past her towards their friend's usual spot: glued to her favorite arcade game, where she was currently kicking the high score's flank on Sweet Foal o Mine on Expert level. Headbanging so that her dulled-out rainbow mane shook from side to side as she beat, she cheered as the song ended and the screen displayed her score as the current highest among all her other high scores for the selection. "Woohoo! Beat my high score again!" Sunbeam said as she sommersaulted in the air in victory. "Way to go, Sunnie!" Surprise cheered as she flew up and hugged her yellow coated friend who was now surprised to see four of her best friends behind her as she and Surprise touched down. "Oh, hey guys!" Sunbeam said, greeting the other four. "I take it you're all set to hang out with us?" Amethyst asked. "Actually, just gotta take care of something real quick. Be right back." she said quickly as she sped out of the arcade, almost smacking into a yellow pegasi with a blue mane that was entering. "Watch it!" Alma called after Sunbeam, who was not climbing higher into the sky, and in eight seconds flat, cleared the sky around Ponyville of clouds in record time before touching down in front of Alma, who was now staring at the cloudless sky with an amazed look on her face. "Heh heh, you should see the look on your face." Sunbeam chuckled before heading off to Sweet Apple Acres with her friends. =================================== Not much of Sweet Apple Acres had changed over the years. The only forseeable differences being the extra cottage built near the northern field that stood since Fluttershy and Big Macintosh had gotten engaged years ago. Another was the amount of dogs racing around the farm, ever since Applejack's first dog, Winona, had her first litter, Sweet Apple Acres also bread puppies for ponies to keep as pets. Outside the farmhouse, a brown earth pony colt with a white stripe on his nose and an apple cutie mark on his flank was dropping off a large cart of freshly harvested apples from the south field. Rome Beauty trotted up to him. "Hey Kendall! Ya seen my cousin around here?" she asked. "I think she's over in the south fields last time I checked." he answered. Soon enough, the gang found themselves searching all over the southern orchard in an attempt to find their final friend. "Did anypony find her yet?" Sunbeam asked as a couple of ponies gathered in a group in a clearing. "Nothing on the end I searched." Moonlight answered in an emotionless tone. "Same here." Rome Beauty reported. "Nope." Surprise said, popping out of a knot in a large tree's trunk. "Wait a minute, there she is!" Amethyst pointed out behind the tree Surprise came out of. Sure enough, a butter colored female earth pony with a brown mane with streaks of light pink in it and an apple tree shaped cutie mark was kneeling over at a stream, dipping a beat-up watering can into the water until it filled, before proceeding to water some wildflowers that sprang up along the bank. "There you go little ones." she cooed to the flowers before emptying the rest of the water back into the stream, and turning back towards the orchard... ...before coming snout to snout with Surprise. "HIYA, GOLDIE!" Surprise exclaimed, sending her panicked friend flying into the air, hanging by her front hooves on a branch somewhat high up. "Oh! Surprise! You startled me." Golden said through short breaths as she regained her composure. "Could somepony help me down? That is, if you don't mind..." Golden definitely took after her mother, they all thought as Amethyst levitated her down to ground level. "So, with that settled, we should head back to town. Sounds like the entertainment's wrapping up." Sunbeam assumed as she could hear Shades and Brio's first duet together in years ended in a round of applause before Pinkie's voice came over the loudspeaker. "Alrighty, everypony! That does it for musical entertainment for now! The real show starts in twenty minutes so don't go anywhere! Unless you need to use the bathroom, or get a refill of carrot juice or another chimicherrychanga..." the bubbly earth pony Surprise took after babbled away about cherry flavored Mexicoltian food for around a minute before another voice took the mic, this one sounding much more authoritative. "Ahem. Thank you, Pinkie, for your detailed discussion on how you almost named your daughter, "Cumquot." Twilight said sarcasticly. "I WAS GONNA BE NAMED CUMQUOT??? Why didn't my mom keep that name?" Surprise whined, her mane going completely flat as she looked down, disappointed. "That would've been a great name..." "Surprise, the name you have now is good enough as it is." Amethyst assured her. Suddenly, a joyful look was replastered on her face as her mane bounced back into its usual poofy state. "Eh, you're probably right Amy." Surprise agreed. "Sshhhh. I wanna hear what Moonlight's mom has to say." Rome said, holding a hoof up. "Who cares?" Moonlight sighed, before being shushed. "As your mayor for eighteen years, I have seen countless wonders and miracles in this town, but today, one like no other will occur just moments from now! May I present my mentor and good friend, Princesses Celestia and Luna!" The crowd in Ponyville erupted in cheers as the two regal Alicorn sisters, flanked by Pegasus guards, lead by their nephew, Eos, down from Canterlot Castle and straight to the platform that stood in front of the town hall. =================================== Meanwhile, in the depths of Tartarus, a great evil being watched from a viewing screen as the Alicorns landed and greeted the town's mayor. It narrowed its eyes and watched as the event prepared to unfold. "Very soon, my bretherin, the time that Equestria faced my WRATH will begin." Ch2: An Evil ArisesMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 2: An Evil Arises =================================== "C'mon! They're about to start!" Sunbeam called back to her friends, also noticing she had flew very far ahead while the rest simply trotted on the ground. "Relax, Sunbeam. You heard what Pinkie said: the main event doesn't start for another ten minutes." Amethyst stated. "Yeah, but I wanna get the best seats so we can see it!" Sunbeam replied anxiously. "The Moon's going to pass in front of the sun. As if it would look any different depending on where you are." Moonlight lectured. "Besides, my mom reserved seats for us on Ponyville Tower's balcony." The whole group stopped dead in their tracks and stared at the goth pony. "How'd your mom swing that?" RB asked. "I'm the mayor's daughter. How you manage to forget that doesn't surprise me in the slightest." Moonlight sarcastically answered back. "Was that an insult?" Rome asked, taken aback by that comment as Moonlight began walking ahead. "You figure it out." =================================== Ponyville tower was still the tallest building in town, and the most important considering it also served as the town hall. At the moment, the entire crowd of Ponyville, both residents and out-of-town visitors alike, were gathered around the main podium in front of the tower, where Celestia and Luna stood, reciting their speech they planned to give just before the eclipse. The area around them was heavily guarded by the Royal Guards that accompanied the princesses. As the girls made it to the front of the sea of ponies surrounding the podium, a tall grey earth pony guard with purple markings under his eyes stopped them. "Sorry, girls. Can't go any further." he ordered. "Rusty, it's cool. They're on the list." a voice from behind him said. He turned to find a white Alicorn guard with more ornate armor on than the rest of the guards. "Yes sir, Prince Eos." Rusty complied as he stepped aside and let the girls past. "Thanks, Eos." Moonlight mumbled. "Still cheery as ever, Eh, Coz?" Eos teased. Moonlight shot him a glare and continued heading past the podium and towards Ponyville Tower's balcony, where the girls could make out their respective parents standing and listeningto the princesses' speech from above, and went off to join them. =================================== "Mom! Dad!" Amethyst called over to get the attention of the fashionista unicorn and her husband and business partner. Both had changed alot over the years. Rarity's once luxuriously styled mane was now a simple braid with curly bangs that hung over her forehead. Spike had grown into a brilliant older dragon, but still stayed small enough so that he wasn't labeled a monster. He had also grew a pair of vestigial wings that sprouted behind his shoulder blades and reached down to the base of his tail. "Hey, Kiddo! I see Moonlight told you about the surprise." Spike greeted his daughter while addressing the rest of the girls at the same time. "Eeyup. Gotta ask though, why didja guys keep it a secret anyway?" Rome Beauty asked. "What's the fun in just telling you right away?" a certain pink earth pony replied. Pinkie had also changed her mane as well, the result being a mix between her usually bouncy puffball and the flat straightened kind from her ' Pinkamina' persona. Surprise trotted over to a place at her mother's side as the rest of the group made their way to their families. Golden made her way to the butter coated Pegasus she recognized as her mother, Fluttershy, and gave her a meek hug. Next to her was Big Macintosh, her father who spoke softly but wore a big yoke. On his back was her younger sister, Apple Cream, a light red Pegasus with a neck-length pink mane and green eyes, not visible as she had them closed as she was napping. Moonlight sollemly walked over to her mother, Twilight, who hadn't changed much over the years. Her mane and personality were still the same, but she now wore a thin pair of rectangular rimmed glasses over her eyes. "Where's Dad?" the mayor's gothic daughter asked. "On his way over with Galactica." Twilight answered. "Oh, by the way Twilight, how is Galactica doing?" Fluttershy spoke up. " I havent seen her since you and Ponet brought her home from the hospital." "Yes, but alot of reporters have been trying to get a glimpse of the ' Mayor's New Mini-Me' since they placed her in the nursery."Twilight explained. "We've been doing our best to keep her away from all that stress for her first week." "Ah, C'mon, Twi." an older, yet still sounding tomboyish, Rainbow Dash spoke up. She was wearing her Wonderbolt Captain's jacket with a pair of aviator goggles around her neck as she stood next to her yellow-coated rockstar husband, Stratocaster, and fellow Wonderbolt, Storm Runner. "A little publicity's not gonna hurt the kid." "That's not what you said when Hard Hitting wanted a reporter in the delivery room when Sunbeam was born."Stratocaster chuckled, as Rainbow glared at him. "Hey, the day I'm fine with a stranger documenting everything that happens with my having our daughter is the day I go flank-to-flank with Mulia Mild." Rainbow snapped. "Mom! That's something NOPONY needed to hear!" Sunbeam cried out, her cheeks flushed from embarrassment. "Umm.. Maybe I should go... See ya, Dash." Storm Runner decided out loud, clearly creeped out from Rainbow's outburst. Twenty Five years later, and RD still had the motormouth she had at her daughter's age. All the while, AJ, Oregano and RB chuckled at the back and forth banter between Rainbow's family before Rome spoke up to her father. "Forgot to ask, is Auntie doing any better at home?" "She's still the same, but I'm very certain the little bambino or bambina will arrive soon." Oregano replied in his usual Neightalian accent. Rome Beauty nodded and turned her attention back to the stage, as she noticed the Princesses were wrapping up their speech. "Now enough talk. We have kept you, our faithful subjects, waiting for too long. Don't you agree, Luna?" Celestia asked her sister, who was now just about the same height as her. "We couldn't agree with thou more, sister." Luna nodded in agreement. You'd think spending a quarter decade in modern time would've changed her accent, but at least she finally got rid of the Royal Canterlot Voice unless she was yelling for good reason. "There gonna start the eclipse, everypony!" RB said, getting the attention of the balcony group. Apple Cream even woke up from her nap on her mother's back, noticing how suddenly alot more ponies just showed up. In response, she squeaked and hid in between her mother's legs. "It's alright, Apple Cream. It's just your sisters friends and your aunties." Fluttershy cooed in an attempt to untangle her from her leg. The tiny red pegasus simply let out a whimper that sounded as if she was trying to say, "Okay...", and returned her gaze to the princesses. "As you can see," Celestia continued. "we have already set the spell in motion, and we should see the eclipse in a matter of seconds." All eyes turned to the sky, in which the moon was about to touch the corner of the sun. Many shielded their eyes from the sun's rays, except for Shades, Vynil Scratch, Neon Lights, Bright Eyes, Photo Finish, and everypony else in attendance that was either blind, or had sunglasses on. "It should be in full eclipse in seven..." Luna estimated, starting a countdown. "Six..."Moonlight continued. "Five..." Golden Harvest followed. "Four..." Surprise said next. "Three..." Sky Dancer uttered. "Two.." Amethyst said, letting RB finish up. "WAITAMINUTE. That WAS an insult, Moonlight!" Rome shrieked, the goth filly's words finally dawning on her, as the moon finally passed in front of the sun, everypony staring at it in awe. "ZERO." a very familiar voice echoed throughout the town. =================================== All of a sudden, the glow around the Alicorns' horns faded. "What-What's going on?" Luna stuttered, completely caught off guard. "The spell keeping the eclipse moving has been broken! What is the meaning of this?" Celestia explained, a slight tone of panic in her voice. "Whoever is the cause of this, SHOW YOURSELF!" she continued, accidentally slipping into her version of the traditional royal Canterlot voice. "Oh come now, Celly. Don't you remember..." "YOU." Celestia narrowed her eyes. "Little..." "But, that's impossible..."Twilight panicked. "Old..." "I thought he was..." Spike started, before a blinding light burst onto the stage. As it faded, a tall silhouette featuring two different sets of horns, wings, and appendages connected to a snake-like body with a goat's head. Atop it sat a crown, representing the Element of Magic. "Moi?" Discord finished, before he started cackling maniacally. "You can't really be here! We saw you turn to stone with our own eyes!" Rainbow shouted at the draconequus. Discord snapped his talons on his left hand, teleporting in front of the balcony the Mane Six stood upon. "Yes, but it was sooo cramped in that position I was frozen in. So, I thought I'd come out for a quick stretch." Discord joked, mimicking stretching motions. "So your the Discord my mom told me about." Amethyst said, gaining the sorcerer's attention. "What? Mom?" Discord said, surprised. He looked at the younger ponies, then at the older couples, putting' Two And Two together to make Fish' as he put it. Why? Because he's freaking Discord, now stop questioning this and keep reading. He let out a long laugh, wiping a tear from his eye as he calmed down. "You mean to tell me, the great 'Defenders of Equestria' actually took the time to settle down and get busy?" Discord asked before going into another fit of laughter. "Well, duh! We had to keep the bloodline flowing somehow!" Pinkie answered, taking his question and answering it in her own serious manner as Soarin facehoofed. "Princess! The Elements!" Twilight yelled down to Celestia as she used her own magic to levitate the crown of Discord's head and onto her own. In the meantime, Celestia had already gotten a large box, containing the remaining Elements, and began to thrust it upward to the balcony. "Miss Moon, be a dear and grab that for me?" Discord asked somepony that was nowhere to be seen. Once the other Elements were within reach of the other Mane 6, a swirling cloud of mysterious dark blue energy, swooped in front, catching the box and racing back to Discord's side with it and giving him the box before revealing its true form: a talk, pitch black Alicorn with deadly blue eyes hidden underneath a sapphire battle helmet, and a cutie mark almost identical to Luna's, who at the moment, was screaming in frustration and horror at who it was. "Recognize me, my little ponies?" Nightmare Moon chuckled. "But...how is that even possible?"Applejack wondered aloud. "GUARDS!" Twilight and Celestia called out simultaneously. Immediately, Eos, flanked by fifteen pegasi guards as Rusty and twenty unicorn guards moved into position around Discord and Nightmare Moon. "You two have no escape! Give up!" Eos ordered. "Bad idea, young colt." Nightmare Moon growled. "You caught me in a bad mood." Quicker than a flash of lightning, The Mare in the Moon shot at the nearest pegasi guard, grabbing him by the chest plate and chucking him at another two, sending all three flailing downward as they took a hard landing below. Discord in the meantime had begun levitating the ground troops until they reached his height. "Lemme go you sonova..." Rusty started. "You asked for it."Discord muttered as he threw his fist towards the ground, sending Rusty and the unicorn guards slamming into the ground. Eos and the remaining pegasi ended their skirmish with Nightmare Moon, and landed among the wounded to evacuate them. "Pathetic. You sorry excuses for soldiers are only good enough for being paperweights!" Discord scowled before reconsidering what he just said. "Actually, that's not a bad idea!" "He raised his paw as it glowed a sickly golden color with his mystical energy. A guard screamed out as he noticed his back legs turning to stone. In a matter of seconds, he and thirty others had been turned into stone statues of themselves, including Rusty. "Oh, No YOU DON'T!" Eos yelled as he prepared to lunge for Discord. He didnt get very far, as he looked down to notice his hind legs had already been petrified. The sensation then spread to his back, then his wings, finally making its way up his chest. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS MOTHERBU..." Eos managed to yell out before his head was forever frozen with a look of anger plastered on his face. That's when the panic the audience had been building up finally surfaced. The entire crowd on the ground began galloping for any safe haven away from two of Equestria's most feared enemies. Winery had to literally pull her kids away from trying to get to their dad, currently turned into a statue of himself by Discord's newfound powers. "We need to get out of here!" Stratocaster stated the obvious as he and Big Mac busted through the doors leading down the tower and outside. Unfortunately, Nightmare Moon was waiting for them. "Going somewhere, boys?" she asked, charging her horn. "Daddy!!!" Apple Cream cried out, diving for her dad, just in time for his leg to petrify. "APPLE CREAM, NO!" Fluttershy cried, trying to grab her youngest daughter before Soarin and Oregano held her back. It was too late anyway. She, Big Mac, and Stratocaster had already been turned to stone. "Not you too, Dad!" Sky Dancer shouted, tears welling in her eyes. "Oh, don't worry, my dear." Discord said in a caring tone as he levitated himself down on a cotton candy cloud to their level. "You can join him if you want." "You're not harming the children, you pezzo di merda!" Oregano shouted as he ran in front of Sky Dancer, taking the hit for her, to everypony else's horror. His now stone body fell to the floor with a loud thud. "Now for you..." Discord chuckled evilly as he closed in on the remaining ponies. As he aimed his paw at them to cast the spell, a bright yellow glow surrounded them, and a second later, the group disappeared. "You fool! They escaped!" Nightmare Moon snapped as she hit him upside the head with her foreleg. "You think I don't know that?"; Discord retorted. "Do you at least know where they went?" "There's only one place I can think of..." ================================================================== Amethyst opened one eye, noticing that instead of Discord and Nightmare Moon standing in front of them, they were in a large, ornate room with stained glass windows depicting the defeat of Nightmare Moon at the hands of Celestia and the Elements of Harmony. She looked around, noticing her friends, their moms, Spike, Soarin, Galactica, and Ponet. "Thank goodness, you're all alright." Celestia sighed in relief as she and Luna made their way towards them. "Not all of us..." Fluttershy said through her sobs of losing her husband and little filly to Discord and Nightmare's return. Rarity hugged her as Pinkie gave RD and AJ a double hug since they both lost their husbands as well and seemed a bit glum. "We are aware, Fluttershy, but do not worry. They are not lost forever, only frozen." Luna explained, trying to lighten the mood. "And you're sure that this can be reversed?" Rarity asked. "Actually, we're not sure." Celestia said, disappointingly. "The Elements of Harmony could possess the power, but Discord and Nightmare Moon have captured them." "I've been meanin' ta ask y'all about that, Princess. How the hay is Nightmare Moon here? Isn't she supposed to be Luna?" Applejack asked, pointing at the younger princess. "All will be explained in due time, dear Applejack. We've already called special help and briefed him on the situation." Luna answered. Everypony in the group was confused. Who could be more special in helping Equestria in its time of need than the users of the Elements? "Who is it?" Golden Harvest asked. "That is, um...if you want to tell us." "Follow us." Celestia ordered, turning as she walked to the end of the room, opening a large door. Upon opening, they were met by a large group of ponies wearing ornate armor, sitting around a large table with scrolls, textbooks, and odd pieces of technology scattered around it. At the far end sat a greyish-brown earth pony with a spiffily styled mane and a bowtie. "Ah, 'ello everypony! Let's get started, shall we?" The Doctor said cheerfully. Ch4: The QuestMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 4: The Quest ===================================================================== “Um...Tia?” Luna asked. The Princess of the Night tapped her hoof to her older sister’s eyelid. The very next moment, the Sun Godess sprang up, wide awake. “SPY SAPPIN’ MY DISPENSER!” she screamed, startling her sister. That’s when she realized the sun already had been risen and the P-Box turned off. “Uhh...When did I pass out?” “Not important. It’s morning. We had to raise the sun for you. Again.” Luna replied as her sister sat up. “Has everypony else awoken already?” Celestia asked, straightening her crown on top of her head. “Yes, they’re down stairs in the foyer. All of them including us have been waiting for thou to awaken.” Luna replied. “Yes, well, let’s get to it then.” Celestia ordered as she trotted out of the room with her younger sister following. =================================================================== “Just promise me you’ll be safe...”Fluttershy whimpered as she hugged her eldest daughter. “I will, Mama.” Golden Harvest replied, breaking off the hug from her mother and replacing her saddle bag on her back. All around the foyer, all six of the girls, about to depart on their mission, were saying their goodbyes to their families. Nopony else noticed as the Princesses descended down the stairs. “Y’all come back now. That filly yer Aunt Applebloom’s gonna have aint big enough ta take over yer job yet.” Applejack said, trying to hide the fact that she was about to cry. “Ma, relax. I’ll come back.” Rome Beauty assured her with a quick hug. “I see you’re all ready to depart.” Celestia spoke up, grabbing the attention of everypony. “Just about, Princess.” Amethyst answered. The crowd of the older and newer generation surrounded the two alicorns. “Before you depart, we have some things to give you to aid you on your journey.” Celestia explained, as she used her magic to open a door at the left side of the staircase. Entering the room were two ponies. One was a white earth pony with red eyes, a black and grey mane, black jumpsuit, and a pair of mechanical wings. The other was an orange pegasus with redish-brown mane and eyes,as well as a gear for a cutie mark and a pair of goggles. “We hired some of Equestria’s best inventors, Dark Star and Gizmo, to develop this technology.” Luna continued. “My sister and us hope it serves thou well.” “What are they?” Sunbeam asked. Dark Star reached into a pouch behind his wings, pulling out a small hoofheld device that looked like a miniature television screen. On the back was knob about the size of a coin, as well as a gear-shaped symbol in the top right corner. “This is a portable video phone.” he explained. “It allows you to communicate via camera to anypony back home.” “How’s it work?” Rome Beauty stepped forward. “Well, it needs a simple levitation spell to activate it. Would you kindly demonstrate, Mrs. Sparkle?” Dark requested as he handed the device to Twilight. “Of course.” she replied as the levitated the device. “Now what?” “Now I just need to find the right frequency...” Dark said as he turned the knob on the back. A moment later, a glowing pink orb appeared in front of Princess Celestia. Inside it was an image of Twilight, and on the device, the Princesses appeared on screen. “Wow, this is impressive.” Twilight said. “Indeed.” Celestia agreed. “You may contact us whenever you need with this device, wether it be to inform us of your process or just check in for new information.” “And if it ever breaks, you can send us messages through Amethyst’s messaging magic.” Dark Star suggested. “How did you know I could do that?” Amethyst asked as Spike stepped forward. “Yeah, your mother and I already gave some info about your abilities to Gizmo and Dark.” he confessed as the device deactivated. “Besides, we need you to keep in contact however you can.” “So what’s the second thing? It looks cool!” Surprise asked, prodding the second piece of technology that Gizmo was holding. “This has the ability to trace where the Alternates are located in Equestria with the sattelite array Luna’s scientists sent into space a few years back.” Gizmo explained, activating the device. On it appeared a map of Equestria. On it, six mulitcolored dots appeared on random locations all over Equestria, a green one and a yellow one located in Ponyville. A blue one was in between Ponyville and Fillydelphia, an orange one in Cloudsdale, a purple just outside of Dodge Junction, and a red one located in the Everfree Forest. “Those must be Nightmare Moon and Discord.” Amethyst pointed out, looking at Ponyville. “Wouldn’t her’s be the blue one though?” Sunbeam suggested. “Maybe there was a change in who guarded what.” Golden Harvest guessed. “Could be.” Gizmo answered. “Lemme just zoom in...” Pressing a button with a plus sign on it, the map shrunk, to the point where the streets of ponyville were visible. The green one seemed to be moving around the town’s center as the yellow one was at the edge of town closest to Sweet Apple Acres. ================================================================== “C’mon, Heartbeat! Move it!” A colt’s voice called back. “I’m trying, Blue!” Heartbeat snapped back. Both had just gotten away from Sweet Apple Acres, thinking it would be a safe place to hide from Discord and Nightmare Moon. They were dead wrong. Everyone there, from Apple Bloom and Snails, to Apple Syrup and Apple Cider, had been turned to stone by Discord, who was also waiting for them. And now, he was chasing them back to Ponyville. “Really now, you’ll like being statues! Trust me, I was one for half a millenium!” Discord called out, sarcastically. “Fat chance!” Blue Skies called back. For once, inheriting his Aunt Cloudchaser’s endurance was really paying off. He and his fillyfriend Heartbeat, were keeping a good distance away from Discord. But still, the draconequus kept bridging the gap inch by inch. He only needed to get a little closer to catch that little mare. And he was getting them. “Blue! Help! He’s-catching up!” Heartbeat yelled, starting to pant. Then the worst possible thing happened: she tripped on a rock, landing head over hooves just in front of the Bringer of Chaos. “Oh no....” “Oh yes,” Discord chuckled, grabbing her by her foreleg. “NO!!!” Blue Skies cried out as the filly he dated was turned to stone. After she was completely changed, Discord turned to him. “Now for you...” he said, ominously. “Not today!” a voice rang out. In less than a second, a cart held in a blue aura crashed on top of Discord’s head, and Blue suddenly felt as if he was being lifted into the air by his tail. And he was. Turning to see who it was, he was met by her cutie mark: a yellow and black music note in the pattern of a nautical star on a mocha-colored flank. “Could you quit staring and start flying so I don’t have to carry you?” Miracle asked. At that instant, Blue snapped out of his confusion. “Yeah. Sure.” he replied, getting his wings moving as Miracle let him go. “Good. Eight Bit! Sonnet! Get out of there!” Miracle called down to her friends and former fellow Crusaders. “Gotcha!” Eight Bit called back, dropping the cart she was levitating and galloping away from the stunned draconequus. “Right behind you!” Sonnet followed. Minutes later, the four of them regrouped at a treehouse deep in one of the orchards behind Sweet Apple Acres. “I’m really sorry we couldn’t save Heartbeat.” Eight Bit apologized to Blue. “It wasn’t your fault, guys. I could’ve done something though.” Blue said, hanging his head. “And what? Got statue-fied like her? Like my parents? Like Prince Eos?” Sonnet snapped. “This isn’t the time, Sonnet.” Miracle ordered. “We should just see if anypony else is still safe.” She turned to Blue Skies. “Have you heard of anything?” “Me and Heartbeat thought we saw some guards looking for survivors when Discord found us.” he answered. The former-crusaders perked up. “Where’d you see them?” Eight Bit and Sonnet asked in unison. “Flying over the library. I think I saw Metronome with them.” Blue continued. “Maybe they’re still around. We could meet up with them!” Sonnet suggested. “Then let’s go!” Miracle ordered as the four headed into town. ============================================================ ...So, we know at least one of them are still there.” Amethyst thought outloud. “It matters not. They still need to be defeated.” Luna stated. “What happens if we fail?” Sunbeam asked. “I fear that what Discord and his associates have done to Ponyville will spread all over Equestria. Then to the other kingdoms such as Gryphus or Neighpon, until all life on the planet is extinguished.” Celestia said, solemnly. “Then we won’t fail you.” Amethyst promised. “As I said before, I know you won’t. All of us have put our complete trust in you.” Celestia stated as the older generation of ponies crowded around the younger generation. “Now you should start your quest as soon as possible, so we won’t keep you waiting.” “We’ll be back everypony. And we’re gonna save Equestria too!” Amethyst promised as she and her friends headed towards the front gates. Their mothers waved goodbye, some of them tearing up. “They ain’t our little girls anymore.” Applejack said, her voice crackling slightly. “No, they’re our only hope now.” Spike answered. ===================================================================== It wasn’t until the six of them were outside the gates of Canterlot that one of them spoke up again. “Did any of ya guys get the feelin’ Celestia just sent us off to get rid of us for sumthin’?” Rome Beauty asked. “That’s ridiculous, RB.” Moonlight mumbled as they traveled onwards. ====================================================================== Meanwhile, back in Celestia’s chambers... “Do you think it was at least the tinyest bit mean that you sent them away just to get back to gaming, dear sister?” Luna asked as she slayed yet another Creeper. “Less talk-y, more minecraft-y! I’ve got half a heart left and half a dozen zombies behind me!” Celestia shouted. End of part 4. Ch5: Entering FillydelphiaMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 5: Entering Fillydelphia ================================================================== Meanwhile, back in Ponyville, the group of four made it to Sugarcube Corner. Due to almost being caught by Discord a multitude of times, getting from the apple orchards to the center of town took much longer than expected. “In here.” Miracle whispered as she held open the door for the other three. It wasn’t a moment too soon that the door closed, as Discord came through again, looking for more survivors. “Hmmm....I thought there’d be more of them.” he thought out loud before his eyes began glowing a sickly shade of yellow. “Chrysalis my dear, have you found anything on your end?” ==================================================================== “Here?” Cyclone asked as he touched down, and Metro hopped off. “Yeah, I think this is where they are.” Metro said as he walked up to a shed behind a house. As he rounded the corner, he came face to face with something that made him freeze: his friend’s mom, Giggles, frozen in stone with a fearful look on her face. “Something wrong, kid?” Cyclone called out before walking over and finding the other pony. “You know her?” “That’s my friend, Daylight’s mom...” he said before quickly running over to the shed and knocking frequently. “Daylight! You okay?” Finally, the door opened, and a orange pegasus with a black and red mane, orange eyes, tan snout and a cutie mark resembling the sun streaking across the sky. “Metro? You’re okay!” he said, opening the door wider to reveal a light grey unicorn colt with yellow eyes, a neon blue mane and a turntable cutie mark. “Dubstep! You’re here too?” Metro asked. “You sound surprised to see me, dude!” Dubstep answered as he walked forward next to Daylight, then noticing the guard. “Are you here to save us, mister?” “You and any other survivors.” Cyclone answered. “Cumulus! Radio the princess and tell her we’re evacuating three colts ASAP!” he turned back to his partner, only to find nopony there. Back in front of the house, Chrysallis returned to her normal form, a large, Alicorn-like Changeling Queen, with a long jagged horn and a flowing icy blue mane. Her eyes glowed a sickly green, and she could hear Discord’s voice in her head. “Plenty of them. I’ve been following a group closely for some time, but I’m ready to...” “Cumulus? You over here?” a voice called. “Gotta go. Somepony’s coming.” Chrysallis quickly said as she cut the connection and reverted to the Royal Guard form she was maintaining, just as Cyclone and the other three rounded the house. “There you are. What happened?” he asked Chrysallis. “Uh, nothing. Just checking for any sign of Discord or Nightmare Moon.” she lied. “Well, keep an eye out. We’re taking these kids to the rendevouz point. Hopefully the others found more of them. C’mon.” Cyclone ordered as he and the kids began walking towards the edge of town. “I’ll get you soon enough” Chrysallis muttered to herself. ==================================================================== “Ugh...What’s that smell?” Sunbeam coughed. “Melted steel. We’re getting close to Fillydelphia.” Moonlight muttered, “The place is full of steel mills.” Sure enough, as the six of them got slightly further down the road, the city of Fillydelphia came into full view. Large industrial complexes were visible from outside the city, littered with tall apartment buildings and warehouses. “It’s not exactly the prettiest thing I’ve seen.” RB whispered to herself. “It’s a factory city. It isn’t supposed to be pretty.” Moonlight said. “We get it Moonlight. Let’s see if we can find a place to stay for the night. We’ll keep an eye out for the Alternates later tomorrow.” Amethyst suggested. “Sounds good to me.” Golden Harvest agreed. As they got closer to the city limits, they could see a checkpoint set up, guards stationed all around it. One noticed the oncoming group and stepped forward. “Halt! Identify yourselves and state your business!” he called out. “The princess sent us! We’re supposed to retrieve the Elements of Harmony and stop Discord and his allies!” Amethyst called out. “Well how can we tell you’re not Discord and his friends in disguise?” Another, younger sounding, guard called out. “He’s got a point, how can they tell?” Surprise asked the others. “Jeez, just let us in already!” Moonlight yelled. After her outburst, another voice came from behind the checkpoint. “Let me through! I know that voice!” It was soon that they learned the voice came from none other than the General of the Royal Guard himself, Shining Armor. “Well, my niece came to pay us a visit.” “How can you tell it’s her, sir?” one guard asked. “I can recognize those outbursts anywhere.” he chuckled. “Oh, haha, Uncle Shining.” Moonlight chuckled. “Let them through.” Shining ordered. One guard opened the gate, allowing the six of them into the city. “Princess Celestia said you were in Stalliongrad before we left.” Amethyst asked the older general. “That was before we got news of an Alternate within the city limits. Then we discovered something that proved our suspicions are true.” Shining explained. “What’s that?” Rome Beauty asked. “Follow me and I’ll show you.” he ordered. The group walked towards the city center, where a makeshift headquarters for Shining Armor’s soldiers was set up. Outside it, a white pegasus mare with a black and red mane was arguing with one of the guards. She had quite a concerned look on her face. “Please, at least let me in to see if he’s okay!” Blood Moon cried. “Look, I know you’re worried about Lt Chaos, but I’m under strict orders not to let anypony in without the general’s OK.” the guard apologized. Trying their best to ignore the commotion outside the tent, Shining let the fillies inside, where they completely understood what had happened. In front of them stood four royal guards, all of them frozen in stone with fearful looks on their faces. “My top Lieutenants: Chaos Star, Valier, Night Thunder, and Jetta Bomber. All of them were found like this within the last 24 hours.” Shining Armor said solemnly. “But I thought Nightmare Moon and Discord were the only ones who could turn ponies to stone. Aren’t they still both in Ponyville?” Surprise thought out loud. “About that...We’ve also had Nightmare Moon sightings around the city in the past few hours.” Shining continued. Amethyst reached into her saddlebag, pulling out the digital map of Equestria. Surely enough, there was a blue dot circling the area around Fillydelphia. “That must be her.” she thought to herself. “How are we gonna stop her? We don’t have the Elements with us.” Rome Beauty asked. “You don’t?” Shining turned around, surprised. “Discord stole them during the eclipse when he first appeared.” Moonlight explained. Shining sat at a desk, his head in his forelegs, trying to think of a way around this mess, when finally, he thought of something. “Wait, maybe we don’t need the Elements of Harmony to stop her.” he said to himself. “What makes you say that, sir?” Golden Harvest asked. “Just bear with me on this...” ===================================================================== “Is he gone?” Eight Bit whispered. Sonnet peered through the crack in between the saloon style doors of Sugarcube Corner. She was relieved to see that Discord had moved on and nowhere to be seen. “He’s gone. We’re safe for now.” Sonnet sighed in relief. “I thought you said you saw guards flying around here, Blue Skies.” “I did! Honest!” Blue whispered loudly. “Guys, relax. Let’s see if we can find them from a better vantage point.” Miracle suggested as she headed into the kitchen. Before she could make it into the back room, she walked into something cold and rough. Looking up, she saw the Cake Twins, huddled in fear, looking up at something. Both were statues. Eight Bit nearly let out a yelp if it weren’t for Sonnet and Blue Skies covering her mouth the moment it opened. “Okay...so he’s been through here already...” Miracle said to herself. “Who’s there?” a voice came from the pantry. Blue slowly walked open and gently opened the door. Hiding behind a sack of sugar was a small, purple and brown unicorn colt with a muffin cutie mark. “Bran Muffin? What happened?” Miracle asked. “Discord came in, and he froze Mr and Mrs Cake, then the twins, then everypony else! I was hiding in here the whole time so he didn’t find me.” Bran Muffin studdered. “He’s not here is he?” “No, don’t worry. He left for the moment.” Miracle assured him. “I’m sorry, WHO left for the moment?” Discord’s voice came from above the group. Everypony froze up, and look up, to be face to face with Discord, floating above them, just before he lunged for the nearest pony... ==================================================================== “This will never work.” Moonlight mumbled to herself. “Have faith, Moonlight. I’ve got a feeling this will work.” Shining said through his radio. “Now you and Surprise just begin the distraction. Amethyst has begun charging her spell.” “Okie Dokie Lokie!” Surprise beamed as she bounced into the alley way, the armor she was given for the plan clanging together. Moonlight sighed and followed her inside. Meanwhile, on a nearby balcony, Amethyst, Shining Armor, and the other girls watched from afar. Amethyst’s horn was glowing brightly with magical energy, readying the spell she was taught by the general. “The moment you see Nightmare Moon, release the spell.” Shining told her. Amethyst couldn’t speak, as holding back the energy from the spell she was preparing took too much concentration to say anything. Instead, she gave a quick nod and focused back on the alley. “Uh, Patrol 4 to base, we’ve got no sightings of Nightmare Moon in this sector.” Moonlight said into her radio. “Whaddya mean? She’s right there.” Surprise pointed at a graffiti piece on an abandoned building, with the words ‘NLR ROOLZ’ written crudely underneath. The moment she pointed at it, Amethyst fired the spell at the wall. It shattered the wall to nothing but rubble. “Oh wait, it’s just a painting.” “Dang it, Surprise!” Sunbeam groaned, facehoofing. “Told you it wouldn’t work.” Moonlight sighed. “Oh, I wouldn’t say that.” Nightmare Moon chuckled, as she materialized next to Shining Armor. “You really thought a simple projectile spell would stop me? Don’t make me laugh.” Amethyst tried to fire the spell again, only for it to miss Nightmare Mon and disipate in the air behind her. “Nice try.” she chuckled as she leaped for Amethyst. “OH, NO YOU DONT!” Shining yelled as he pushed Amethyst out of the way. He took the impact, then instantly afterwards, turned into a statue. “Uncle Shining? Girls, what’s happening up there?” Moonlight’s voice came through the radio. Rome Beauty picked it up and leaped off the balcony onto another rooftop, followed by the other four. “Nightmare Moon got him! Get outta there you two!” she responded, narrowly dodging Nightmare Moon as she pounced onto the rooftop after them. “Amy, can you do something about her already?” “I can’t! My magic needs to recharge!” Amethyst replied as she jumped down a fire escape and ran back onto the main street along with her friends. Moonlight and Surprise cantered down a side street and joined their other friends. “Ooh, now I have six targets. What fun!” the evil Alicorn grinned as she glided above them. “Now!!!” Sunbeam screamed as all of them ducked. From two alleyways on either side of the street came Shining Armor and another unicorn guard cast a shielding spell around Nightmare Moon, catching her offguard and in a purple colored bubble. “Impossible! I froze you!” “Simple cloning spell.” Shining smirked as he lowered the bubble to ground level. Elsewhere, the statue of Shining’s clone faded away into nothing as the spell dispersed. “You will pay for this!” Nightmare moon shrieked as Shining Armor and the guards led her away. “We should probably let Princess Celestia know we captured Nightmare Moon.” Amethyst suggested. Rome Beauty pulled out one of the devices Gizmo and Dark Star gave the group shortly before their departure. Upon activating it, Celestia appeared on screen, asleep. “Um...Princess?” Golden Harvest spoke into the device. “Zz...Oh, hello everyone!” Celestia slurred as she suddenly woke up. “How’s the search going?” “We just captured Nightmare Moon with the help of Moonlight’s uncle.” Amethyst reported. “Good job you six!” Celestia applauded. “Yeah, it’s good, but what do we do with her now?” Sunbeam added? “Listen to me carefully, Amethyst. Make sure Nightmare Moon is completely restrained. Are you familiar with the same spell Twilight Sparkle used to lift Discord’s spell from her friends in her time?” Celestia instructed. Amethyst nodded as Celestia continued. “The power from that spell should be strong enough to turn Nightmare Moon’s energy back to its original form....” “Kind of like those spheres the Elements of Harmony originally were?” Amethyst asked. “Exactly. Once you do, the Element she stole will reveal itself. I also want you to send her back to me via teleportation...” She continued before screaming and the sounds of stone objects falling to the ground interupted them. “What was that noise?” “Not sure. We’ll call you back, Princess.” Amethyst said as she deactivated the video screen and the six of them ran towards the HQ. “Oh my Faust...” Sunbeam muttered under her breath as they took in the scene of the disturbance. Every guard and civilian pony in the square had been turned to stone, including Shining Armor. Over to the side, they saw the pegasi mare from earlier surveying the damage. “What happened, lady?” Surprise asked. “I don’t know.” Blood Moon started. “One minute, the guards just captured Nightmare Moon, then she escaped and...” Before she could finish, Nightmare Moon came out of nowhere and froze her where she stood. “Now where was I?” Nightmare Moon smirked as she slowly walked towards the Mane Six, cackling evilly. END OF CHAPTER 5. Ch6: One Down...MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 6: One Down... ==================================== "Scatter!" Amethyst ordered as Nightmare Moon lunged for them. Her friends made it out of the was as the Alicorn jumped over Amethyst and stood before her. "No you don't." she smirked as her horn gave off a sickly blue. The ground at Amethyst's hooves suddenly turned adhesive. No matter how much she tried to escape it, she couldn't. "Amy, what're you doin? Get outta da way!" RB called out. "I can't! I'm stuck!" Amethyst replied. "Then that will make this a lot easier." Nightmare Moon sneered as she prepared to stab at the trapped Kirin with her horn. Time suddenly slowed down for Amethyst. As she saw Nightmare Moon bring her horn closer, she suddenly got flashbacks of the night she got her cutie mark: Stuck with nowhere to go, about to be killed by a pack of Lupus Minors. Only this time, it was the Mare in the Moon herself. She closed her eyes, and brought her horn to an angle that it would block her attacker's. The sound of two horns clanging together echoed throughout the plaza. "You're pretty resilient for a normal pony. I hate that." Nightmare Moon growled. "I'm no ordinary pony." Amethyst said calmly. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open, revealing two bright lights where her pupils once were. Nightmare Moon reeled back, the light in Amy's eyes blinding her. As she did, the spell that held her hostage faded, freeing her. Amethyst leaped into the air, horn pointed at Nightmare Moon, primed with the spell Celestia's instructed her to use. "Well, buck." was all Nightmare Moon could think as Amethyst's horn made contact with her. In the exact same moment, the magical energy released itself in a brilliant purple beam of energy from her horn. Suddenly, a bluish smoke started pouring from multiple places on her tall, lanky body. Giving out one last shriek before she completely turned to smoke, Nightmare Moon disappeared. Slowly, the smoke condensed into an orb about the size of a coconut. It was the same deep blue as Nightmare Moon's armor, and had something written on it. It wasn't in basic Equestrian, or any language that they recognized for that matter. As the orb fell upon the ground, Amy and her friends noticed as everyone Nightmare Moon turned to stone was restored to their original forms. That mare from earlier, Blood Moon, was overjoyed as she was reunited with whom they guessed to be her husband, a black and red Pegasus with Royal Guards armor. Every pony else also looked around, happy to be free of the curse. "Did we do it?" Sunbeam asked aloud. "Yea...We did it." Amethyst said, looking around. "So what do we do about this?" Moonlight asked, picking up the orb Nightmare Moon left behind. "I'm not sure, but Princess Celestia said...wait a second..." Amethyst started, before noticing something under a pile of rubble. Knocking some of it away with her hoof, she uncovered a golden tiara, with a bright purple gem cut in the shape of Twilight's cutie mark. "It's the Element of Magic!" ==================================== "So let me see if I get this straight:" Celestia asked. "The curse can only be broken if we defeat the Alternate who froze that individual?" "That's right, Princess." Amethyst said from her holoscreen. "Which means the ponies Nightmare Moon froze in Ponyville could still be saved!" "I'll send word to my niece right away, but first, do you still have Nightmare Moon's orb? I'd like The Doctor to have a look at it." Celestia asked. Rome Beauty handed her Kirin friend the orb, and Amethyst held it up to the screen, the words facing in Celestia, and now The Doctor's, direction. He studied it for a moment. "I've never seen such writing before." he whispered in awe, then ran off screen, shouting back, "Wait there!" Behind the six of them, a sound they've never heard anything else like came from behind them as a tall, blue box suddenly materialized out of nowhere. Once it was fully solid, The Doctor exited from it and took the orb from Amy's hoof, examining it up close. "Wait a moment. The TarDis' translation software is changing it." The Doctor said, before turning it back to the six young mares before him. What was once a incomprehensible language now read 'Envy'. "Envy?" Golden Harvest said. "We'll think about it. Luna did turn into Nightmare Moon after getting jealous of her sister." RB added. "What is the original language that it was thought?"Sunbeam asked. "If Im correct, it's a language older than even Ponykind: The Words of Tartaurus." ==================================== Miracle slowly opened one eye. Neither she nor her friends, Blue, or Bran had been frozen. In fact, Discord was stuck in place by an aura of light blue magic. "Think again, Discord!" Pumpkin Cake snapped at her captive. "Seriously, you think a simple levitation spell could stop me?" Discord asked, unamused. At the snap of his claws, a pitcher of chocolate milk, suddenly poured all over Punpkin Cake, making her lose focus on levitating the chaotic god. "I'm actually more hung up on the fact that YOU somehow became unfrozen." he thought as he touched her and returned her to her statue form, "Which can only mean Envy was defeated." "It matters not. The Elements cannot function properly on their own. Keep the ones you have away from the ones who defeated Envy." "Yes, Master." Discord said, listening to the telepathic message in his head. "Who're you talking to?" Pound asked, completely unaware of the fact he was gonna be turned back into stone with a single touch. "No pony you need to worry about ." he chuckled, then noticed that the other five had fled outside. "Ah well, I love a good game of freeze tag anyway!" Discord said as he quickly headed back outside. The five ponies he had been previously chasing had already mixed in between already-converted pony statues, plus the crowd of ponies that were unfrozen by the defeat of Nightmare Moon. "Guess Im back in the hunt." Discord laughed to himself as he quickly refroze Blossomforth and Snips at the same time, followed by Raindrops, Berry Punch, and Lily. ==================================== After hiding back behind a corner near the edge of town, Eight Bit poked her head out, making sure the coast was clear. She couldn't see Discord anymore, just more unfrozen ponies running in every direction. "Is the coast clear?" Blue asked. "It isn't as long as Discord's out there recapturing every pony who got unfrozen." Sonnet answered. Miracle turned to Bran Muffin. "Have any good ideas for a place to hide, Bran?" He thought for a second before coming up with an idea. "There's a shed behind the Bargin Barn my friends usually hang around." Bran told them. "Then that's our best bet. Lets go." Miracle ordered as the five of them ran off. ==================================== "Wait wait wait, lemme get this straight. Nightmare Moon was an orb da whole time?" RB asked. "Nothing gets past you, doesn't it?" Moonlight answered sarcastically. "Like I said before you left Canterlot..." The Doctor began to explain." ...some Alternates are forms they've taken on, or beings they've taken over. Envy took on Nightmare Moons form, while Chaos took over Discord." "That must be why he's back to causing disharmony again." Fluttershy spoke up from the viewing screen Amy still held. "Precisely, now Im going back to Canterlot with this to run some tests, but in the meantime, Ill drop you six off near the closest Alternate in the area." The Doctor announced, trotting back into the Tardis. "Well? Come on!" The six of them said their goodbyes to Shining Armor , the princesses on the viewing screen, and the other pony citizens and guards of Fillydelphia as they entered the blue box before fading away. ==================================== As the six stepped out of the Tardis, they were immediately assaulted by a blast of windswept sand and intense heat from the afternoon sun. "Ugh...where are we?" Sunbeam asked. "Southern region of the Bone Dry Desert. Closest I can get you to the nearest Alternate without this beauty interacting with it." the Timelord explained, gesturing to the orb. "So you're just leaving us here? In the middle of the desert??" Moonlight asked. "Don't worry! I already built us shelter!" Surprise said, poking her head out of a perfect sand replica of the Tardis, which stood until a passing tumbleweed knocked it down on impact. Ignoring the white pegasus, the Timelord pony continued. "Just about a half mile that way is a buffalo village. They're friendly. Trust me. See ya!" he waved as he shut the door and faded out of existence. "I guess that's our only option." Amy shrugged as she and her friends trekked to the tepees in the distance. After a long walk, they made it, Surprise panting like a dog and sweating enough to fill a swimming pool with her perspiration. "I-I can't go on! We've been walking for days! Without water! Or air conditioning!" she wailed before passing out on the grass. "Umm, Surprise? It's only been about fifteen minutes." Golden Harvest corrected her. "Well she does have a point. We're gonna need water soon." RB pointed out. "Dese buffalo should have some." As they entered the camp, they became immersed in sullen faces and looks of disbelief and despair. Only one buffalo seemed to be cheerful towards them: a light brown buffalo cow in a purple headress. "Are you the ones The Settlers sent to help us?" she asked. "Im not sure. Sorry." Amethyst explained. "We were sent here to find one of the Alternates. Have there been any strange things occurring recently?" The native's eyes shot wide open. "Then you're the ones Wind Talker foretold of!" she exclaimed, as more buffalo surrounded them. "Strongheart, what is this commotion?" a tall dark buffalo in a very elaborate headdress asked as he made his way to the ponies. "Chief, these are the ponies our shaman predicted would come to save this land!" Strongheart cried out in joy. Murmurs rung out throughout the tribe. "So..are we, like, The Chosen Ones or sumtin' like dat?" RB asked. The chief spoke up again to answer the orange pony's question. "Our spiritual guide, Wind Whistler, foretold last night of six heroines that would stop He Who Hears Drumbeats, return the water, and restore peace to this land, and all lands beyond our influence." he lectured. "Come. We will explain on the way." "If you don't mind, can we please get some water first?" Sunbeam asked. Solemn faces made her realize she shouldn't have asked. "Our river nearby, the source of our water, dried up suddenly two days ago." Strongheart explained. "That was during the eclipse!" Surprise exclaimed. "Correct, White One." the chief concurred. "Afterwards, a pony showed up who heard drumbeats silent to every being other than himself." He lead them to a closed teepee, upon opening it, the six were shocked to see it filled with statuefied buffalo. "He did this to the buffalo sent to search for more water, turning them to stone just by touching them." "It's an Alternate alright." Moonlight announced, looking at the electronic map. "Looks like it's the Alternate Element of Strife, and he's not far." "Where is he then?" Sunbeam asked. Moonlight looked up at Rone Beauty and Golden Harvest. The two Apple family relatives knew the location Strife was located in by heart. All three of them spoke up: "Appleoosa." END OF CHAPTER 6 Ch7: AppleoosaMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 7: Appleoosa ==================================== The air inside the buffalo tent was musty and smokey, with various items believed to be spiritual scattered around the fire put in the center. Standing before the ponies and Strongheart was the village shaman, Wind Whistler stood before them as an elderly buffalo with a headrest covered in feathers, and the skull of a longhorn centered above his wrinkled face. He took a long drag on his pipe before blowing a ring of smoke upwards and passing it to the chief. "The spirits foretold of your arrival..." He croaked finally. "And of how you come by a strange pony with a blue box." "That was The Doctor." Amethyst spoke up. "Indeed, my child. As for you, it has been foretold that it is you, and you alone that can stop the suffering of both the buffalo and the settlers." He said, taking a hoof full of a brown powder and casting it into the fire. It erupted into a green conflagration that caused everypony to back away slowly from the heat's intensity. Deeper inside the flame, they could make out a purple, cloaked figure, shaped like a pony. "This is He Who Hears Drumbeats. He has broughten a curse on our land during the Darkening of the Sun." Wind Whistler continued. "He means da eclipse, right?" RB whispered to Amethyst. Ignoring the interruption, the elder continued. "Upon his arrival, he vowed to take this land for himself. Those who tried to stop him, as you know, were turned to stone." "We've seen this before. Discord and Nightmare Moon, they turned our friends and families to stone too!" Amethyst explained. The elder shaman took a moment to take this new information in. "Yet, word has already spread of your victory over this, 'Nightmare Moon'. A herald from a Cheeropony tribe told us of news in the land of Fillydelphia, where you defeated her, and then you arrived as she finished her tale." "Cherropony?" Golden Harvest asked. "They're pegasi with similar customs as the buffalo. They form clouds here in the desert." Moonlight told them. "Correct, Dark One." Wind Whistler answered. "She will lead you to Appleoosa." He waved a hoof at a buffalo standing at the entrance, who then let in the Cherropony Wind Whistler spoke of. She was a pinto coated pegasus, with brown eyes, a black braided mane and tail, and garments similar to what the buffalo wore. "It's an honor to meet you. I'm Spirit Storm." she greeted them. "Shall we be off?" "In a moment." Wind Whistler answered. "I must warn you ponies. He Who Hears Drumbeats is not the least of your worries. I foresee those who help you becoming injured, greater conflicts beyond this one, and one of you may lose someone you hold dear." Everypony shuddered at those words as the visions he had depicted themselves in the fire: Ponies lying on the ground, writhing in pain, Discord attacking Canterlot, and a single, bloodied hoof being stared at from a blurry, first person point of view that slowly faded into nothing before the fire suddenly flickered out of existence. "H-he's kidding right? Just some spiritual Mumbo-Jumbo right?" Sunbeam asked nervously. "He's serious." Moonlight said solemnly. "Let's not try to think about that, and focus on helping everypony here." Amethyst suggested. "Amy's right. Come on, y'all!" Golden Harvest agreed, her southern droll becoming slightly more noticable as she spoke. "We have to get to Appleoosa." "I like your spirit, Goldie!" Surprise smiled, getting up from her seat, following the earth pony out. Their other friends, including Spirit Storm, followed suit. "How far is Appleoosa from here anyway?" Sunbeam asked. "By flight, fifteen minutes. If we walk, it should take forty." Spirit Storm answered. "Then let's get moving." Amethyst announced as the seven of them began the trek to the frontier town. "Im still thirsty..." Surprise groaned. ==================================== Back in Ponyville, Miracle's group had found themselves behind FlimFlamart, the premier retail chain superstore in Ponyville ever since they bought out Bargain Barn. "So where's this shed anyway?" Eight Bit asked. "Over there." Bran Muffin pointed at a tool shed, big enough for at least eight ponies. He quickly trotted over to open the door, only to be whacked in the face by the handle. Inside stood two earth pony colts his age. One was brown with a dark brown mane, green eyes, and a sack of gold coins for a cutie mark. The other was a spitting, genderbent image of his silver maned mother, but with a silver medallion for a cutie mark. "Sorry, loser. This spot's taken." Richard sneered as Bran Muffin picked himself up. "Rich? Silver Medal? What're you doing in my clubhouse?" Bran asked. "Your clubhouse? I don't see your name on it." Richard teased. "Then what's this?" Blue Skies asked, finding a pile of objects like board games and empty soda bottles scattered around a sign that read "Bran's Clubhouse" in crude painted-on letters. "Just useless crap me and Silver cleared out before hiding in here." the bully answered. "Now go find your own spot before you blow our cover." "There's barely anywhere to go! Discord's still making sure he got everypony, and Faust knows when he'll be back." Miracle said. "Not my problem. Go find your own place to hide." Rich said coldly. "Rich, maybe we should..." Silver Medal suggested before a glare from the other pony cut him off. "....never mind." "That's what I thought." Richard said, turning back to the group. "This is my own place! You just took all my stuff out of it!" Bran almost shouted. "Huh, pretty observant for somepony who's grandma's a RETARD." Rich retorted. That did it. Something in Bran's mind snapped and before anyone knew it, he had tackled Richard and the two began fighting each other. "Guys, cut it out quiet down before we get..." Sonnet started to say before stopping abruptly. "Something wrong, Sonnet?" Blue Skies asked before turning around to find himself with a statuefied Sonnet and a draconequus standing over them. "Before you get caught?" Discord asked, before a hoof to the face from the sudden appearance of a Royal Guard. "You kids get outta here. GO!" he shouted as the group made a run for the other end of the alley. Discord tried to bypass the guard and lunged for them as they ran off. The guard tried to stop them, but an elbow from Discord sent him into a dumpster. Richard did some quick, self-centered thinking and shoved Bran Muffin down, letting Discord use him as bait before the guard recovered and distracted him again. "Rich, what was that for?!?" Eight Bit called out. "Take a hint, lady. It's survival of the fittest!" Richard called back, galloping back down the alleyway. At the end, a second guard with three smaller sillouettes behind him was motioning for them to hurry up. Miracle looked back, noticing Discord had overpowered the guard saving them and transformed him into stone. "Dammit! Hurry up!" Cyclone yelled as Discord inched closer to the runners. "Is there really a point to this? I' just going to get you eventuall..." he started before the top of a trash can hit him on top of the head. A dazed look washed over his face as he collapsed to the ground. "What the..." Eight Bit mumbled before turning around to find a small filly with a white coat complemented with green eyes, a curly yellow and brown mane, and a bluejay cutie mark, sneaking out from behind a trash can. "Did I get him?" Songbird asked. ==================================== "I've been through the desert with a horse with no name..." Surprise sang, repeating the chorus for the umpteenth time in a row. "Cut it out! That song's giving me a headache!" Sunbeam complained. "But I can't help it! The last time the writer had it playing, it got stuck in my head!" Surprise answered. "What is she talking about?" Spirit Storm whispered to the goth filly. "It's better that you didn't know." Moonlight answered before posing a question of her own. "So what's the situation like in Appleoosa?" "The ponies have a stockpile of water already, but it's being rationed out to conserve it." the Cheropony explained as they entered the town. Ahead, they could see a long line of townsponies lined up in front of the water tower, water being handed out one jug per pony. Watching over the line was a hay-colored earth pony with a golden mane and green eyes. He also wore a brown vest displaying a golden star proudly, with a matching ten-gallon hat. "Sheriff Braeburn?" Spirit Storm called out to get his attention. "Spirit, what took ya? Y'all went to Thunderhooves' village three hours ago." Braeburn asked. "Yeah, well she has ta bring your second cousins back with her." RB stated as she and Golden Harvest walked up. The town sheriff perked up a bit at the sight of his family. "Howdy, RB, Goldie." he half-smiled. "What bring y'all and yer lil friends down here?" "They're here to help." Spirit Storm stepped forward, smiling. "Well, that's great and all but we've dealt with droughts before, an after all that's happenin up in Ponyville..." Braeburn started before Amethyst cut him off. "No, Sheriff Braeburn. We're here for the other problem." Amy spoke up. His face became serious after she finished. "Y'all sure ya can handle it?" "Positive." she nodded. The sheriff gave a hesitant look before motioning for them to follow him towards the town. After a short walk, he stopped in front of a large building with sheets draped over the windows. "Last chance ta back out." Braeburn offered. No pony chose to opt out of going inside. "Alright then." He opened the doors, allowing the seven of them in. "Oh my Faust..." Sunbeam gasped. ======================================================================= “I should beat the buck out of you for that!!!” Dubstep threatened Richard as he slammed him against a brick wall. “Get your hooves off me, Dumbass!” Richard fought back. The two tussled for a minute before Eight Bit pulled the two of them apart with her magic. “Enough you two! We don’t have the time for this.” she said, keeping the two of them apart. Meanwhile, Blue Skies, Silver Medal and Metronome were praising Songbird for her quick thinking, while Miracle and Dayliht stood close to each other. “Are Mom and Dad okay?” Miracle asked her younger brother. “Mom was gotten by Discord, and I don’t know about Dad.” Daylight answered, looking back at Cyclone as he inspected the knocked out draconequus. “Captain Cyclone!” a voice called out. Everypony looked up to the sight of Princess Cadence landing behind them. They each quickly bowed as she walked up and shook the guard’s hoof. “Great job in defeating Discord.” “Thank you, your highness, but it was really that little filly over there that did the most of the work.” Cyclone admitted. The younger alicorn princess walked over to Songbird, kneeling down to the filly’s level. “Did you now? Well, I must thank you for what you did here today, little one.” Cadence congradulated her. “T-thank you, Princess!” Songbird squeaked out. “I’ll take care of this big lug, your majesty. You can lead them to the rendevouz point.” Cyclone said, getting ready to lift Discord over his back, “Of course. Come along everypony.” Cadence announced as she led the group of younger ponies away from the alleyway. Once she was gone, Cyclone walked up to the still unconscious master of chaos, ready to carry him back to Canterlot in chains for his return to causing mayhem. There was just one thing bothering him. How did Discord return to his old ways? He heard that one of the Elements of Harmony users reformed him a long time ago. But this was not the time to focus on that. Just as he pulled out a pair of hoofcuffs, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning, he saw Cyclone completely unfrozen, but he looked different. He had a horn with a sickly green magic glowing around it. The same color highlighted his eyes. “Cumulus, what the...” “Here, let me help you with that.” Cyclone smiled, knocking the guard onto the ground as he transformed into his true form: The queen of all Changelings. “Chrys...” Cyclone tried to choke out before being turned to stone. After the deed was done, Discord opened his eyes, and sat up while simultaneously cracking his back. “Wow, I thought you’d take forever in getting him off your back.” Discord commented. “Oh, shut up.” Chrysalis snapped. “We’ve still got those ponies to round up before they all escape. HE told us to let nopony escape.” “Yes yes, I know.” Discord yawned. “All part of the plan and all.” “Them go after them!” the changeling ordered. Discord snapped his fingers, as a pair of sunglasses and a leather jacket appeared upon him. “I’ll be back.” he said in a fake Germane accent before disappearing. ======================================================================= Everywhere they looked in the room, cots covered the floor, each one taken up by an ailing stallion, mare or foal. Doctors and family members of the sick crowded around them, doing anything they could to try and help them, but these weren't just any kind of epidemics. Each ailing pony in the room were turned into statues, only they were still conscious. Some were only turned halfway, or the stone only covered their bodies in blotches of grey slate. "Some varmint did this to all of 'em, including the buffalo y'all probably saw before 'em." Braeburn solemnly stated. Golden Harvest slowly walked up to one of the closer cots, where a bright yellow stallion with blotches of stone over half of his body, closing his mouth shut. "You poor thing..." she murmured quietly. "The ones we saw turned to stone in Ponyville and Fillydelphia were fully turned. Why aren't they?" Amethyst asked Braeburn. "Ah ain't exactly sure." Braeburn whispered. "We had the town brainiac try and find out why when this all started, but he's over in the corner now." He gestured to an older pony with his lower half turned to stone. "And he did the same thing with the river? The buffalo said something about it drying up?" Sunbeam asked. "Eeyep. We tried sendin' some scouts out with the buffalo but got the same result." Braeburn regestured to everypony afflicted by the statuefying curse. "There's only one thing he wants before he ends all this." Spirit Storm stepped forward. "Oh yeah? What's he want?" RB asked. "He said somethin' bout gettin' rid of the Chosen Six, whatever that means. And every hour he don't get what he wants, he attacks anypony out on the streets." Braeburn said before the clock tower began chiming out two o'clock in the afternoon. Outside, everypony either walking around or lined up for water at the water tower dropped anything they were holding and made a break for the closest buildings, slamming the doors shut behind them. Only two ponies remained, locked out from any building, begging for anyone to let them in. "C'mon, Morton! Let us in!" a stallion cried out, banging on the saloon door. "And get frozen too? Fat chance!" the bartender called back. "Oh come on, Morton!" he pleaded. "Oh, horse apples! Here he comes!" a mare cried out, trembling. Out from the desert, a cloaked figure with a thick brimmed, desperado's hat over his head walking into town. The pleading for help and attempts to pry open locked doors became more loud and forceful as he slowly walked closer to them. "Our mother, Faust in heaven, hallowed be thy name..." the mare began pleading as she dropped to her knees in defeat. "Thy kingdom come." the cloaked pony finished, slamming his hoof to the ground. A fissure of sickly purple cracks emmited from his hoof step, spreading out until it reached the ponies locked out from the safety of their own townsponies. Once it touched them, the cracks jumped from the ground onto their hooves, spreading all over their bodies. A dry sounding groan came from the lips of the stallion as stone began forming in a lightning shaped pattern all over his body, paralyzingly him. The mare just sat there, mouth agape as the cracks caused a similar result to her. And just as soon as it started, the cracks disappeared, and the ponies fell over on their sides, frozen in place, but still conscious of the fact that this happened to them. "Dammit, that makes twenty-nine..." Braeburn cursed, turning away from the window. "Wait what's he doing now?" Sunbeam whispered. All eyes were on the cloaked pony as he stepped up to the mare he froze. She whimpered in fear as he brought a hoof to her face... ...and repetitively tapped four times on a patch of her face turned to solid stone. A passing gust blew the hat off his head, and the cloak around him blew open, revealing a blue unicorn stallion with a blonde mane, golden eyes, and a cutie mark depicting a snare drum overlapping an hourglass. "Hey, isn't that Metronome's dad? I thought he went missing." Moonlight pointed out. "You know He Who Hears Drumbeats?" Spirit Song asked. "Yeah but that's not his real name." Amethyst replied. "Then what is it?" the Cheropony asked again. "The Master." End of part 7 Ch8: Mortal StrifeMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 8: Mortal Strife ==================================== "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" The Master called out to the entire town. "If you could defeat Envy, you must be a formidable team!" "He's talking about us..." Amethyst whispered to her friends. "WELL??" the corrupted timepony shouted, holding out his front hooves as he stood upright on his hind legs. "BRING IT ON!" "That's it!" Sunbeam said, growing tired of his taunts. She attempted to burst out of the swinging doors and uppercut him in the face, only to be held back by Braeburn and RB. "Yer gonna blow our covah!" RB said in a hushed voice. One of The Master's ears perked up at a sound coming from behind him. With a stomp of his left hind leg, another shockwave of elemental energy surged towards the building the eight of them, plus the afflicted, were hiding in. It spread up the walks and windows in random jagged patterns before condensing into enough energy to blow the wall inward. Ponies and other items were scattered all over by the blast. "Here come the drums..." The Master grinned as he entered the building through the newly created hole. ==================================== As the group walked through town, led by Princess Cadence and one of her guards, they talked amongst one another. "Hey, Princess?" Eight Bit called out. "What is it, my dear?" the Alicorn answered. "How did some of these ponies get unfrozen in the first place?" Eight Bit asked. "Yeah, one minute the Cake Twins were statues, and the next, they're helping us fend off Discord." Blue added. "I'm not sure. Once we get back to Canterlot, we'll have our answers." Cadence explained. They almost made it to the very edge of town closest to the road to Canterlot, until the guard accompanying them suddenly flared his wings. “Everypony, stay behind me!” he ordered. “What’s the problem, Corporal?” Cadence asked the guard before a shadow flew over her. Looking up, she and the other ponies were treated to the site of Discord dressed as Arnold Schwartzeneighger, flying upwards until he was above the center of town. Once there, a golden glow surrounded his hands, which he then held out to his sides. “What the hay’s he doing now?” Richard asked. The answer came quicker than expected, as a translucent amber dome surrounded the town, just in front of the group. “I think he just sealed us in.” Songbird thought aloud. “Nothing gets past you, Eagle Eye.” Richard groaned. “Maybe we can still pass through it. He could just be tricking us.” Eight Bit suggested. “Would we really want to take that chance?” Miracle asked. “With all due respect, I have to agree with her.” the guard announced, nodding to Eight Bit. “Fine, but be careful.” Cadence nodded. The guard slowly walked up to the dome, placing his hoof on the surface. “It’s completely solid. I dunno if there’s a way to get thr...what the???” he stopped as he noticed his hoof was turning gray. Soon enough, he had become a complete statue. “Dammit!” Cadence muttered. “Now how are we supposed to get out of here?” Silver Medal said aloud. “I have an idea.” A voice called out. Looking behind them, tarthropod an earth pony with a black mane and red eyes. “Divinity?” ======================================================================= The dust cloud had settled, but Golden Harvest’s ears still rang badly. All around her were the ponies that had been affected by The Master earlier, but now, two new ones lay among them. Braeburn was lying near her, the statuefying curse showing up in lightning bolt shaped marks across his body. “Aw crap! Moonlight!” RB cried out. Goldie sat up to find her friends surrounding her unicorn companion while Spirit Storm leaned Braeburn up against a piece the wall that was blasted inward. Moonlight had similar markings covering her, one over her eye, causing a large patch of her face to be turned to stone. “Are you ok?” Surprise asked. “Do I look ok?” Moonlight groaned, wincing at the agony she shared with the other ponies The Master had affected. “Girls...get out of here. “What? Are you nuts?” Sunbeam cried out. “Sunny’s right. We can’t leave you here.” Amethyst agreed. “He’s already coming. GO!” Moonlight shouted, watching as The Master’s shadow grew closer to the hole blasted into the wall. Goldie did some quick thinking, before slinging Moonlight onto her back. “What are you...” Moonlight started before Goldie cut her off. “We aint leaving anypony behind. Amy, can you get everypony else out with yer magic?” Goldie asked her kirin friend. She got a nod in response, followed by the charging of a levitation spell. “Good. Now let’s get out of here!” Goldie ran out the back door, followed by her friends, Spirit Storm carrying Braeburn, and Amy levitating out a stream of accursed victims. The back door shut just in time as The Master walked in. “Leaving so soon?” The Master asked. “I don’t think so.” ======================================================================= Out back, Amy had finished setting the victims down inside the building next door. Spirit Storm and Braeburn followed them inside. “We’ll make sure they stay safe.” Spirit Storm told them. “Ok, good luck.” Amy nodded. “Ah...was about ta say the same to you and yer friends, missy.” Braeburn grinned, the stone on his cheeks cracking slightly. Spirit Storm closed and locked the door behind the kirin as she walked out to meet back up with her friend. Goldie had just set Moonlight down, and she was now laying on her stomach, leaning against a nearby barrel. “You...had to...bring me too? Really?” Moonlight muttered. “We’re friends. We wouldn’t leave ya behind.” Goldie smiled. “Oh how heartwarming.” The Master called out from the saloon. Another stomp of his hoof splintered the door and created another large hole in the wall. The Master emerged from it, walking up to the six of them. “So you are The Chosen Six, huh? I expected you to be...older.” “Come on, Mr. Master. Don’t you recognize us?” Surprise asked. “Master? Oh yes, the fellow I possessed.” the blue earth pony chuckled. “Oh come on, ya can’t be serious. Yer doing all da stuff he normally does.” RB said. “I must admit, these...ticks that this mortal has are strange, but it matters not.” The Master answered. “At least answer this: what is the point in terrifying this small town? Drying up a riverbed?” The Master chuckled. “I was wondering when you’d pick up on that.” “Just spill it!” Sunbeam snapped. “All part of a distraction honestly. I’ve got to let the plan progress without you six stopping another one of us.” he answered. “What...plan?” Moonlight struggled to ask. “I’ve already said too much. Plus, Chaos and Deceit have probably already completely decimated your hometown.” The Master grinned wickedly. Sunbeam flew right into the earth pony’s face, glaring into his golden eyes. “WHAT. PLAN. MOTHERBUCKER?” The Master simply pushed the yellow pegasus away from his face and answered her question. “Why, the plan to eliminate all life on the planet, my dear.” he said before laughing cackling as he brought his hoof down again. The same shockwave sent the six of them flying again. Amethyst and Goldie dodged as the shockwave affected RB, Sunbeam and Surprise in the same way it affected Moonlight. “Ugh...I can’t move.” RB moaned, trying to get her statuefied hooves to stand up, but to no avail. “Us...neither...” Surprise agreed, trying to flex her wings that were now completely turned to stone. Sunbeam’s entire body beneath her neck was a statue. “Good. Less ponies to stop me from dealing with the last of these failures.” The Master chuckled as he walked up to Amethyst and Goldie. “Stay behind me, Goldie.” Amy ordered, charging her horn as she stood in front of Goldie and Moonlight. A simple stomp from the posessed Timepony’s hoof sent her flying into the building behind them, leaving a pony-sized hole in the second floor wall. “And now, for you.” The Master smiled at the butter colored earth pony. He raised his hoof, prepared to do to her what he did to her friends. All Goldie did was stand there before something happened. Something in her mind snapped, as if she was fed up with all of this mayhem.“NOW STOP RIGHT THERE, MISTER.” she suddenly shouted. Taken aback by the sudden outburst, he gently put his hoof back down. What was once a cowering mare before him was now staring him down, a mean look on her face. “Ah have just about HAD IT with what y’all’re doin’ to mah friends, these townsfolk, and the buffalo out in the desert! They’re good ponies, and all the trouble y’all have been makin’ ain’t gonna go unpunished, ya hear me?” Goldie snapped, not breaking eye contact with him at all as she backed him up. With each passing second, as Goldie went on and on, the others realized that the statuefication process slowly faded from their bodies. They could finally move again. Moonlight stood up, working out the crick in her neck. “Wow. Didn’t know Goldie had it in her.” Moonlight said, impressed. “Dat’s my cousin. She definately got dat from her momma.” RB beamed. “Got what from her mom, exactly?” Sunbeam asked. “The Stare.” RB answered. “Now y’all are gonna do exactly what Ah say. Y’all’re gonna turn mah friends back ta normal, get the river flowin’ again, and leave them the buck alone, or so help me, Ah will hogtie ya and shove ya in front of the 3:20 train to Las Neighgas, got it?” Goldie ordered. The Master, standing there speechless and scared, could only nod to answer her. “Good. Oh, and one more thing. AMY! NOW!” she turned to the hole in the wall that was left from Amy being sent through it earlier. She leaped from it, her horn primed with the same spell that defeated Nightmare Moon, directing the energy from her horn at him. A blinding light enveloped him, causing everypony to turn away. After it settled, a dark purple cone lay on the ground next to a dazed and confused Master. “W-what the...Where am I? Aren’t you Macintosh’s daughter?” he said. “You don’t remember what just happened?” Goldie asked him. “Not at all. I was just outside of Ponyville one moment, then I found that...” he explained, pointing at the cone. “Then I suddenly showed up here.” “OK, so we get he was posessed by the Element of Strife.” Moonlight pieced together. “The Element of what?” the Timepony asked. “This thing?” he asked again, picking up the cone-shaped artifact. As he did, it revealed something hiding behind it that glinted in the sun. “Wait, what’s dat?” RB asked. The Master picked up what looked like a necklace with a butterfly shaped gemstone in the center. “It’s my Momma’s Element of Kindness!” Goldie gasped. “Not sure why I had it. I don’t even remember how I even found that cone thing.” The Master repeated, tossing the Element of Kindness to Goldie. As she caught it, the door to the building behind them opened. Out stepped Braeburn and Spirit Storm, followed by the townsfolk that The Master afflicted while he was possessed. "Looks like you girls got the varmint cornered." Braeburn said as he walked up to the Timepony. "Yer under arrest fer all the crimes y'all committed against this town." he continued as two stallions wearing deputy badges came beside him, one of them holding hoof cuffs. "What? What did I do??" The Master asked, scared and confused. "Don't you play dumb with us." one of the deputies sneered. "Brae, he wasn't himself! He had no idea he was possessed!" RB explained. "Ah still ain't takin' any chances, RB. Ah'm sorry, but that's the way it has to be." Braeburn said, watching as his cohorts cuffed The Master. He was ready to lead him to the nearby jail before the pounding of hooves behind him gained his and everypony else's attention.Turning, he found his old friend, Strongheart, running at full steam towards them, until she stopped just inches away from the sheriff. "Braeburn! We have a problem!" She panted. ==================================== "Envy was weak, Strife's host was weaker." a voice echoed out through the underground cavern, sounding displeased. "Do we still have enough to free you, My lord?" Discord's voice echoed back. "You have much to learn, Chaos. It only takes one of us in possession of a mortal form to complete the final result." the voice replied. "And the rest of us?" Chrysalis' chimed in. "All must be present before I can arrive." he answered. "The guards you have trapped must all be found and neutralized, Chaos. Only them can you get to Canterlot to retrieve Envy." "I understand." Discord answered. "Deceit, take Strife's place and cause a new distraction outside of this 'Ponyville'. Hatred, begin yours now." he went on further. A new voice, presumably Hatred's spoke. "With this new body..." ==================================== "...That shouldn't be a problem." the griffon smirked as he lunged out of the cemetery. As he took off, a single dark brown feather fluttered down and landed next to a tombstone marked, "Here lies Gilda" END OF CHAPTER 9 Ch3: New Heroes EmergeMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 3: New Heroes Emerge ============================================== "Everypony, you remember The Doctor, correct?" Celestia asked. A few jaws dropped at the mention of his name. "You called in our old substitute teacher? How's he gonna help?" Sunbeam blurted out. "Oh, I'm just...that kind of ma-stallion..." he answered, nearly referring to his human form, but that's another story. "You look different. Are you sure you're the same pony from before?" Rome Beauty spoke up. "I've recently regenerated. Had to go back to the Royal Wedding 25 years ago to help stop the changeling attack. Now if we could get started please?" The Doctor stood up from his chair, unrolling a large scroll that took up the entire length of the table before continuing. "This tapestry depicts the events that led up to Discord's second attack on Equestria long before Luna was banished. It began with his exile from the draconequus homeland... =================================== THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO... "Bah! Those idiotic council members!" Discord cursed, kicking a small rock further into the wastelandish gorge in frustration. "If it wasn't for my actions in the war, this place would've been nothing but a pile of rubble!" Another draconequus came up behind him, by the name of Anarchy. He was similar to Discord in only a few aspects. His face was that of a deer, and his two horns were that of a moose and a rabbit's ear. His front legs were a bear's claw and a frog's webbed foot. His back were an ostrich and a wolf's legs, met by a tiger's tail that ended as a whale's tail tip. His chest and abdomen looked like they belonged to a gorilla with a bumblebee's and a falcon's wing on his back with stegosaurus spikes lining his spine. "I tried to stop them, my liege, but my arguement was left unheard." he apologized. "Its not your failure to stop this that angers me, Anarchy. It's the fact that I was powerless to defend my own title as Draquon's ruler." Discord sighed as he turned, looking ahead atop a large rocky outcrop in the gorge's center, before losing his balance and falling face first to the ground. "Goodness, are you alright?" Anarchy asked as he ran over to help his fellow draconequus. "Perfectly fine." Discord muttered as he stood back up. As he did, he felt his tail touch a small smooth surface. Looking down at the object behind him, he had no knowledge that what he had found would change history forever. A small black sphere, possibly made from obsidian and about the size of a basketball, was sitting behind him. "What's this?" he asked himself out loud, before making the mistake of picking up the strange item. As he held it in his talon, he failed to realize the nearly invisible yellow smoke emerging from a cloud-shaped symbol on the back of the item. The smoke swirled around him before forcefully working it's way into every opening of his head. The smell of it filled his nostrils and the taste was actually somewhat sweet, but just as quickly as the smoke enveloped him, it dicipated. "What was that?" Anarchy asked. "I'm...not sure. But I have the sudden urge for chocolate milk all of the sudden." Discord said, confusing his ally. As if on cue, the clouds above him turned a shade of bright pink, and brown raindrops began to fall. Discord caught one in his mouth, chuckling upon his realization of what it was. "Chocolate milk? Oh splendid! I can change the weather with this!" Discord laughed, holding the orb that gave him this power high in the air. =================================== "It wasn't until later that Discord realized after the Elements of Harmony were created, opposite versions were forged as well." The Doctor ended. "Opposite versions?" Amethyst repeated. "Yes. It seems that the one Discord found was the Element of Chaos, and the one that infected Luna and turned her into Nightmare Moon, was the Element of Envy." "And another thing, how is Nightmare Moon even here? We thought she was Princess Luna before our moms saved her." Sunbeam asked. "We believe that the Element of Envy has taken our Nightmare Moon form because it remained in that form with us for a thousand years and grew accustomed to it." Luna explained her guess. "Anyway, afterwards, Discord used his power to reek havoc on those who banished him, took over once again, and waged a second war on Equestria." The Doctor finished. "We know. You told us the same story back in school." Moonlight Shadow spoke up. "Only minus the alternate elements." he replied, correcting her. "So basically those alternate elements caused Discord's chaotic abilities and channeled all of Luna's envy into Nightmare Moon?" Spike asked, summing up the whole explanation. "Thou art correct, Spike. And unless we stop them, plus the others, Equestria...nay, the Entire Planet, is at risk." Luna spoke gravely. Now the tension in the room was so thick, not even a chainsaw could cut through it. It was quite a while before anyone spoke again. "And what about that spell Discord was using? How he turned all those ponies to stone?" Amethyst asked. "It's the same spell we used on him when he returned years before you were born." Twilight answered. "Discord must've learned it ta use fer himself." Applejack continued. "Any way we can reverse the spell?" "We're trying other means as we speak." Celestia gestured to a window. Outside was a guarded area with Eos' statue form in the center. A lanky grey Alicorn with a brown mane was attempting a powerful spell on him in order to break Discord's curse. The group watched in anticipation before her concentration broke and she fell to her knees, panting. At that moment, Celestia sighed and turned back to the group. "Without the Elements, I doubt we can use any strength spell to reverse this." she said sadly. "That's why we brought you all here." "What can we do?" Soarin asked. "Whatever you can." The Doctor spoke up. "Right now, we need everypony we can get that is of use to us." "I've already ordered Shining Armor to mobilize his troops in Stalliongrad to guard all settlements in case the Alternates attack those cities as well." Celestia stated. "What about Ponyville? I'm it's mayor now. I can't just leave my citizens defenseless." Twilight asked. "Cadence has already volunteered to go there personally to defend Ponyville if they return." Luna explained. "She shall make sure that its citizens are safe as long as it's in her hooves." "And Canterlot? Whose gonna defend here?" Rainbow asked. "That's why we need you six here." Celestia replied. "With Shining and Cadence occupied, and Eos out of commission, Twilight's the only unicorn that can use the shielding spell to defend Canterlot." Twilight was stunned. This was a big responsibility for her to take. Much bigger than when she began writing her friendship letters to the Princess. More than when she became Mayor of Ponyville. And definitely bigger than her becoming a mother. "I will accept that task, Princess." Twilight said, bowing. "Dash and Applejack, I'm dispatching you to keep command of the guard along with our top lieutenants, Cloud Skipper and Midnight Blossom." Celestia continued as she turned to a couple ponies at the same table as The Doctor. One was a mare, a batwinged Pegasus with bright golden eyes and a dark violet mane styled similar to Rainbow's. The other was a normal Pegasus stallion about Ponet's height, white coat, and a blonde mane. Both wore armor symbolizing whose top guard they were; Midnight wearing Luna's guards armor, and Cloud Skipper wearing Celestia's. "I'll need the rest of you to help with other tasks around the castle. Helping with the cure research, mostly." The Doctor motioned to the remaining adult ponies in the room. "Wait, what about us, huh?" Rome Beauty spoke up. "Yeah, you brought us here for a reason too. What's up?" Sunbeam agreed. Celestia turned to the younger mares. "I'm getting to that. I need you six for the most important task of all." she smiled. "Most important?" Moonlight murmured. "Wait, you don't mean..." Amethyst started. "You can't possibly be thinking this, Princess. They're just fillies for Faust sake!" Twilight said, panicking. "Twilight, remain calm. I have faith in them. They are you and your friend's daughters after all." Celestia smirked. Twilight slowly nodded, skeptically agreeing with her former Teacher's judgement. "What are you talking about, Princess?" RB asked again. "Amethyst, Surprise, Sunbeam, Moonlight Shadow, Golden Harvest, and Rome Beauty, I am sending you on a special mission to retrieve the Elements of Harmony." Celestia decreed. The tension level grew to the point that even lasers couldn't put a dent in it. All the fillies in the room looked at each other, not sure wether or not to accept the task they were given. "Okay. I'll do it." Sunbeam said at last. Rainbow smiled at her daughter proudly. She was glad her daughter accepted her task first. "If Sunny's going, I'm going!" Surprise said, trotting over to the other pegasus' side. "I'm gonna go too." Rome Beauty agreed. "Well, if everypony else is, I suppose..." Golden Harvest said quietly. "Ah, what the buck. I'll go too." Moonlight grunted. "Moonlight! Watch your language!" Twilight ordered as her eldest daughter rolled her eyes. Amethyst was the last one to step forward. "I'm going with my friends too. We'll bring back the Elements, Princess." Amethyst smiled, a brave look on her face. "I know you will. We all have our faith in you." Celestia replied, as the older generation, Luna, The Doctor and everypony else in the room. "But always remember: the fate of the Known World rests in your hooves." The girls nodded simultaneously. They had already accounted the fact that their actions would either save or destroy the world, but it was a risk they were willing to take. "Now, please. Rest up, for tomorrow, we send you out to find Discord and the Alternates." Celestia continued. "Cloud Skipper will show you to your room for the night." "Right this way, fillies." Cloud Skipper ushered the younger mares out. As they left, little Galactica began to whimper, in fear that this would be the last time she'd see her big sister. "Don't worry. You'll see Moonlight again..." Twilight whispered to her week-old daughter. "I hope." she continued to herself f =================================== That night, Amethyst lay awake in her bed, staring out the window at the shielding spell that protected Canterlot. It glowed the same color as Twilight's magic. The room the six of them shared was relatively small, only about the size of a toolshed. On both sides were two triple layer bunk beds, Moonlight, Rome Beauty and Golden Harvest on one side while Sunbeam, Surprise and Amethyst shared the other. Between the beds was only enough standing room for two ponies at a time, with a window and the door leading to a hallway outside paralleling one another. Amethyst shifted her attention to the bunk across from her. Golden and RB were already sound asleep within twenty minutes of dimming the lights, but Moonlight had been staring out the window at the moon for well over an hour. "Still awake, Moonlight?" Amethyst whispered, trying to get the goth pony's attention. "I never sleep, Amy. You know that better than anypony." she answered almost immediately afterwards. "What about you? You're still wide awake." "I'm still wondering about this quest we've been sent on." Amethyst replied. "How do we know we're the right one's for the job? Shurely Princess Celestia could have picked better ponies than us." "Princess Celestia's first name is Shirley?" Surprise suddenly asked, hanging upside down as she looked at Amethyst from one bunk above her. "Surprise, go back to sleep." Amethyst ordered. "Look, Amy. All of us accepted this task when we were given it. I can't promise it'll be easy, but I'm still doing it." Moonlight said. "I'm not quitting, Moonlight. I'm just saying, were still kids and they're sending us to do a task I think not even our moms could handle without the Elements." Amethyst explained. "You're really thinking we can't do this just cuz we don't have a few necklaces with magical powers?" Moonlight asked, raising her voice slightly. "Amy, it's not the resources we have that matters at this point." "Yeah! As long as everypony works together on this, we can get them back!" Surprise continued. Amethyst gave a weak smile. Maybe her friends were right. It doesn't matter what items you have. It matters what friends you have. "You know what? You two are right. Maybe we can do this." Amethyst finally agreed "No, not 'maybe'. We definitely can do this." correcting herself. "I knew that pep talk would getcha back to normal!" Surprise beamed. "Great, she's on board again. Now some of us are tryin' ta sleep here so shaddup!" Rome Beauty snapped, her voice muffled from her face being buried in her pillow. Moonlight smirked. "Yeah, I guess we should get some sleep." "Yep. We've got alot of work ahead of us." Amethyst agreed as she ended the conversation and drifted back off to sleep. Little did any of them know that the eldest of the Royal Sisters heard their entire conversation through the door. "I knew I made the right decision." she smiled. "Sister! Come back! The enemy Heavy has us pinned down!" Luna called from the other room. Celestia sighed and put her headset back on. "Coming, Lulu. This is why you don't go it alone as the Medic." she mumbled. ===================================================================== On a rocky outcrop overlooking Ponyville, Cadence landed along with an attatchment of Pegasus Guards. From there, they could make out dozens of statues, mimicing ponies that had been cursed by Discord and Nightmare Moon's newfound powers. "Holy buck..." one of the guards mumbled. "I know."Cadence sighed. "Search the area for survivors. We'll evacuate them to Canterlot once we've completely scanned the area." "At once, malady." the Guard commander saluted before ordering his troops to where they would be sent. ===================================================================== Around an hour passed as two of the guards searched the area by the Carousel Boutique. Near them, they saw at least twenty ponies that had been already incapacitated by Discord's curse. "And I thought it was creepy from afar." One of the pair mumbled. "Quiet, Cumulus. I think I heard something." the other said, turning his attention to a nearby alleyway. "Keep an eye out for the Alternates." "Gotcha, Cyclone." Cumulus agreed. Cyclone slowly trudged down the alley. In front of him was a dumpster, with a pony resembling what used to be Lyra Heartstring, now frozen with a frightened look on her face as she stood on top of the dumpster. "Probably trying to get away when she was caught." Cyclone thought. The sound he heard resonated again, this time somewhat louder as he got closer to the dumpster. He tapped it with his foreleg. A moment later, a tap from the inside sounded, along with a frightened voice. "Hello? Is somepony out there?" Cyclone's eyes widened. He quickly flipped open the dumpster cover, looking inside. From inside it popped out a young metallic blue earth pony colt with a grey mane and purple eyes. His cutie mark resembled a metronome. "Uh, who are you?" the colt asked. He spoke with a slight Cockney accent. Cyclone stammered for a second. "Um, we're here to search for survivors from the attack made by Discord and Nightmare Moon." he finally managed to say. The colt hugged his leg. "Oh, thank goodness. I thought I would've ended up like Auntie Lyra!" The colt said, his voice slightly shaking. "Hey, relax there little guy...You got a name?" Cyclone asked. "Metronome. Most ponies call me Metro." the colt answered. "Okay, Metro. We're gonna take you to a safe place just outside the town. But before we do, do you know where any of your friends or family are?" Cyclone continued. Metro thought for a moment. "I think my friends, Daylight and Dubstep, are hiding nearby." Cyclone nodded."Okay, hop on my back. I'll give you a ride." The cold complied as Cyclone took to the air. "Cumulus, we're moving on!" He waited a moment before his partner finally got to his level. "What took ya?" "Thought I saw something. It was just a squirrel." Cumulus agreed. Cyclone could've sworn something was off with his voice, but he dismissed it. He knew Cumulus had voice problems after that run in with a Changeling almost cost him his vocal chords. "Alright, let's get a move on. This little guy says he knows where more survivors are." Cyclone explained. "Good. Let's find 'em." Cumulus nodded. As Cyclone turned and started flying forward, Metro turned back and looked at the second Pegasi Guard. He almost noticed two things: the statue of a Pegasi Guard that looked just like the one tailing him and Cyclone, and how the second guard's eyes flashed green for a moment. "This kid's sharp. Almost picked up on my disguise. Better watch out for him." Chrysallis thought. End of part 3.
Ch1: PonyvilleLong ago, in the magical land of Equestria, there was a group of six friends who protected their home from the forces of evil and chaos. "Very soon, my bretherin, the time that Equestria faced my WRATH will begin."
Ch2: An Evil ArisesMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 2: An Evil Arises =================================== "C'mon!
All three of them spoke up: "Appleoosa." END OF CHAPTER 6
Ch7: AppleoosaMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 7: Appleoosa ==================================== The air inside the buffalo tent was musty and smokey, with various items believed to be spiritual scattered around the fire put in the center. "The Master." End of part 7
Ch8: Mortal StrifeMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 8: Mortal Strife ==================================== "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" The Master called out to the entire town. As he took off, a single dark brown feather fluttered down and landed next to a tombstone marked, "Here lies Gilda" END OF CHAPTER 9
Ch3: New Heroes EmergeMY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: LEGACY A next generation fanfiction series by SnowyZo3 Chapter 3: New Heroes Emerge ============================================== "Everypony, you remember The Doctor, correct?" Celestia asked.
