Darkness engulfed the regal room of Princess Luna as she gazed longingly away from the silver balcony on which she stood. She sighed softly and put a hoof on the rail of the balcony, not noticing the creak of an opening door. "Luna, my dear sister, you seem to be distant tonight. Tell me, are you not happy?" Luna looked towards where the question had originated and saw a beautiful white alicorn walking gracefully towards her. Luna smiled weakly, but didn't reply to her sisters question. Celestia stopped and stood next to her younger sibling and placed a gentle hoof on the smaller mares shoulder. Luna looked solemly at her hoof and quietly muttered, "I am fine, dear sister.It is just complicated to get used to the new ways of this world since i returned...especially the union of the cartoons outside of Equestria." Celestia laughed gently at the reply and looked into her sisters eyes."My dearest younger sister," the elder started quietly, "I know that is not the problem. You realize you can tell me anything that is on your mind, right?" Luna nodded slightly,and then turned to walk back into the room. Celestia stood and looked sadly at the younger mare then followed, using her magic to silently close the balcony door. She walked towards her dark maned sisters bed, but found that Luna had already drifted to sleep. "That is odd," Celestia mused, "she normally does not sleep much during the night. She must be tired." The white mare walked quietly out of the room and smiled fondly at the door. "Good night, my dear younger sister."
Cadence yawned and rubbed her eyes as she awoke. She heard the sound of hoofsteps coming from outside of her room, and was instantly curious about the sound. She checked the alarm next to her and her eyes widened, for the clock said 2:00AM.
The princess of love carefully walked into the long hallway, and saw her aunt frantically searching up and down the halls. "Aunt Tia? It's 2 in the morning, why are you up?"
Celestia solemly looked at her neice and smiled faintly, "I did not mean to wake you, Mi Amore. I am sorry about that...but my dear sister Luna is not in the palace!"
