Owlowiscious opened his eyes and slowly blinked, bringing the world into focus. The faint rays of a crepuscular sky were visible from the hollow of his tree, the faint oranges and reds marking his favorite time of the day. Dusk. Owlowisious stood and gave an experimental stretch, shaking out any lingering drowsiness or kinks from his long rest. After a quick preening, he stepped to the edge of the tree, spread his wings wide, and pushed off.
The cool evening air put up little resistance as he rode the drafts, occasionally giving a single, powerful stroke of his wings to propel himself to his destination. It was a place he had visited many times before. One he looked forward to visiting every evening and morning.
The ponies below may have enjoyed the twilight hours for aesthetic reasons. The pretty colors, or the sounds of diurnal wildlife stirring for the start of a new day or settling in for the night. Owlowiscious enjoyed it for an entirely practical reason. It was the only time he could see her.
As the small cottage came into view, he could see the smoke wafting up from the chimney, and smell the faint cooking odors from within. That was good. It meant the yellow one was eating and he could find a closer perch. He had been careful to give the yellow one a wide berth ever since she turned those eyes on him after he had tried to eat that white rabbit.
Finally finding a spot on the edge of the roof, Owlowiscious settled and began to look for his target. It was only a few seconds before he found her. The most beautiful owl he had ever seen. With feathers so white they surely made the clouds jealous, she strutted about the fenced in area with a grace and beauty that set his heart pounding.
Much like the yellow one, she stuck exclusively to the ground, despite the wings at her side. Though others may have considered it strange, owlowiscious found it intriguing. He wished to know more about this eccentric female owl of mystery. That was why he had been coming here every evening and morning for the past several weeks.
In his many visits, he still hadn't learned all that much. It seemed she lived with a flock of other, similarly strange looking birds (though of course none could compare to her beauty). The yellow one came by to regularly tend to their needs and give offerings of food.
Most importantly, she was active during the day, and slept at night inside the small wooden structure. This was why he could only see her during the twilight hours. At dusk before the yellow one came to lead them all to sleep, and at dawn before he had to rest for the day. He had recently been trying to stay awake longer, but exhaustion would eventually overcome him and he would have to return to his tree. Maybe he should move to a closer tree?
Owlowiscious watched in silence for an hour or two until the sun was nearly finished setting, and the yellow one finally emerged to direct the flock inside. With nothing left to keep him there, he took off. With a while left before he was needed by the purple one, he set off to do a bit of hunting. The purple one usually had some berries and seeds for him to eat, but never any mice.

Owlowiscious fetched another requested book for the purple one and returned to his perch on her back. All in all, it was a nice arrangement. He helped her with a few tasks during the night hours when the scaly one was asleep and she was awake, and she occasionally offered food, along with letting him stay in one of the many hollows of her spacious tree. He was also welcome to stay inside with her if the weather outside got too extreme.
Although he enjoyed his job, his mind really wasn't in it this evening. He couldn't stop thinking about her. The mystery owl who had captured his heart. Elizabeak he had heard the yellow one call her once. He gave an agitated ruffling of his feathers, causing the purple one to momentarily turn and look at him with a raised eyebrow before turning back to it's books.
If only he could work up the courage to meet her. Well why not? He had attacked the giant, fiery, scaly one in the forest. Why couldn't he work up the courage for this? His feathers were full, his wings were broad, and his talons sharp. He was in the pinnacle of health. Why shouldn't he have a chance with her?
"Hoo!" he exclaimed with determination. He would make his move this morning.
"You're right Owlowiscious," the purple one replied, "I should probably turn in for the night. Thank you for the help."
With the purple one climbing the stairs, Owlowiscious hopped out the window and took flight. He still had several hours until morning, and if he wanted to impress such a stunning female, he would need quite the gift.

Elizabeak awoke to a strange scratching noise coming from the outside wall of the coop. She considered simply ignoring it. It was dark, and the last time she went wandering outside when it was dark, she had been turned into a rock. She didn't like being turned into a rock. Elizabeak closed her eyes again.
Still the scratching persisted. Soon it was joined by a voice.
"Hoo!" The mysterious voice called out to her.
"Bck?" She questioned the darkness.
"Hoo!" The darkness answered back.
Against her better judgement, Elizabeak found herself standing up and walking to the coop entrance. She had to see this mysterious stranger for herself. Finally, she stepped out into the moonlit darkness.
There was nobody there. She turned her head left and right, but except for a dead mouse that lay in front of the entrance to the coop, the ground was empty. A sudden hoot brought her attention up to the top of a fencepost. There sat the strangest rooster she had ever seen.
He sat perched on the post, long, sharp talons gripping the wood. Much larger and sharper than any she had seen before. His feathers were a rich dark brown, and the only reason he didn't melt completely into the darkness, was because of his giant, glowing eyes. They were eyes she could get lost in forever. Two bright orbs piercing the night and staring directly into her soul, sending a shiver down her spine and a tingle to her nether regions.
The dark stranger gave a single beat of his wings, and Elizabeak was in awe. She had never seen such a wingspan before. With wings like that, he could probably lift himself several feet off the ground. Maybe even stay up for a full five seconds! This was, simply put, the most amazing cock she had ever seen. And she wanted it bad.
She gave a curious tilt of her head to the stranger, and he responded by turning his own head nearly upside down. She eagerly stepped over the dead mouse to get a closer look and was surprised when he suddenly took flight. The shock at seeing him fly was quickly overcome by concern as he rapidly disappeared into the distance. Why was he leaving? Would she ever see him again?

Owlowiscious soared through the brightening sky with a broken heart. She had rejected him. She had hardly even looked at the gift he had brought her before casually dismissing it. He had been a fool to think he had any kind of chance with such a stunning creature. Now all he wanted was to slip inside his hollow and sleep.
When he finally got home, he attempted to make himself comfortable as he settled down for the day, but sleep would not come easily. Always, his mind would wander to the pale beauty who had crushed his heart. The sun was high before he finally drifted off into a fitful slumber.
Over the next week, Owlowiscious tried to put Elizabeak out of his mind, with little success. The hours he spent assisting the purple one were usually fine. It was his free time, especially around dawn and dusk. He just didn't know what to do with himself anymore. He needed a task.
Something, anything to distract him. Soon he started construction on a new nest out in White Tail Woods. There was nothing wrong with his current living space, but it could never hurt to have a backup, and at least it was something to do other than sit around and mope. He poured every spare waking hour into it. It was a nest to be proud of. But even with his new project, he still struggled to get to sleep some mornings.
It was one such restless morning that Owlowiscious decided to go for a fly to settle his thoughts, hoping that the exercise would tire him out enough that he could finally get some sleep. Without realizing it, he soon found himself gliding along a familiar route. It wasn't until he saw the cottage that he finally realized where his wings had been taking him.
He was about to turn to go, but a strange compulsion urged him to stay a little while. He soon found himself perched on a nearby branch and surveying the area. His eyes quickly settled on a familiar white figure down below. Maybe he had given up to quickly. Maybe he could try again. Maybe there was still hope.
His heart sank as he saw a male strut up to her, chest puffed up. He shouldn't have been surprised. Of course a female that stunning would have suitors. The male gave several large flaps of his wings and began his dance, strutting a circle around her while dragging the tip of his right wing along the ground. Apparently unimpressed, Elizabeak ignored him and walked away, but he had no intention of taking no for an answer.
In an instant, the spurned male lunged forward. The other birds jumped out of the way as he chased her around the pen. Elizabeak ran as fast as she could, desperately trying to shake her aggressor, but there was nowhere to hide and it would only be a matter of time until he caught her.
Owlowiscous' blood ran hot as he saw the scene unfolding before him. A burning flame of anger flared inside his brain and filled his vision. Before he realized it, he had launched from his perch and was diving towards the pen at top speed, a piercing shriek echoing from his throat. He slammed into the offender who dared to assault his love, a storm of lashing claws and tearing beak. Battered, bleeding, and completely overwhelmed, the other male quickly fled in a blind panic.
Owlowiscious looked up to find Elizabeak, safe and unharmed, looking at him. She looked just as beautiful as ever. Pulse still racing with adrenaline from the fight, he was feeling bold. Now was as good as ever. He might not get a better chance. He spread his legs and began to dance.
He danced with all the passion he could muster. Large strutting steps, big sweeping turns, and powerful flaps of his wings. He vigorously bobbed his head. He danced as hard as he could, filling every part of his body with energy and movement, and prayed it was enough. It only lasted a few seconds, but it felt like an eternity. Finally, he stopped and turned to look.
Elizabeak had taken a crouching position, head dipped, and leaning forward slightly. Success! He had done it! She had accepted him as a worthy mate, and now they could finally be together. Owlowiscious trembled with anticipation as he stepped forward to claim his prize, but before they could consummate their love, a voice rang out.
"Oh my goodness! Is everything alright over there? I thought I heard fighting!"
It was the yellow one, coming to inspect the source of all the noise. Owlowiscious knew they had to escape now or she would keep them apart. He quickly turned to Elizabeak, then bobbed his head towards a nearby fencepost before fluttering up on top of it. He turned to see his love behind him, desperately jumping and flapping her wings in vain.
Owlowiscious was horrified. That monster! What did that yellow fiend do to her wings?! There was no time to lose. The yellow one was getting closer with every second, and it would be all over once she arrived. Without a second thought, he swooped down and grasped Elizabeak firmly, but gently, within his claws. Grateful for all the strength he had developed fetching thick books, he gave a mighty heave and lifted them both up into the air and over the fence.
As they both disappeared into the tree line, he could hear the voice of the yellow one crying out. "Oh my goodness! Sir Roostington! What happened here?! Where's Elizabeak?"

To say Elizabeak was disoriented being off the ground was an understatement. She was less a chicken and more a wildly flapping ball of feathers, kicking feet, and clucking. Eventually she settled down and took in the view. She looked down at the ground so far below her. It was strange seeing it so far away. It made her feel so tall.
Owlowiscious, meanwhile, was quickly trying to figure out what to do next. There wasn't exactly a plan he had been working off of. Whatever he did, he would have to do it quickly, as the awkwardness of trying to carry his cargo without digging claws into her side was proving difficult. She was...solidly built.
It was still quite a distance back to his tree. Nothing to worry about unburdened, but more worrisome at present. Then there was the fact that the yellow one and the purple one seemed to know each other. Furthermore, the yellow one knew he lived there. If they stayed in the purple one's tree, there was a good chance they would be separated again. There was still his secondary nest. It was much closer, and still a secret.
A small shift in direction, and a short flight later, and the secondary nest came into sight. The owl's unceasing devotion and labor had resulted in a large, sturdy home that any bird would be envious of. Owlowiscious steered them in for a soft landing. As soon as they had touched down, he took a second to stretch his tired feet.
Elizabeak, on the other hand, was taking in the wonders of her surroundings. In the last minute, she had seen more of the world than in the rest of her life put together. It would have been frightening if not for the brave and handsome cock beside her. Turning to look at him once more, she felt the flames of passion stirring within her once again.
Elizabeak put on her most enticing 'come hither' gaze and assumed the position once more. She yearned for him to take her this instant. To make her his. To climb on top of her and ravish her completely.
"Bck?" She called over her shoulder in what would have been described as a coquettish grin, had she any lips. She didn't need to ask him twice.
In an instant he was behind her, burning with anticipation, the only thing preventing a trickle of nervous perspiration being a complete lack of sweat glands. Eagerly, he climbed atop her and got to work.
"Hoo!" he cried out in joy. Wings flapping and hips thrusting out wildly.
"Bucka!" Elizabeak cried back, lost in the throes of passion, urging him on.
Spurred on by her words of encouragement, he redoubled his efforts. Brushing her tail feathers aside, he finally found his target. Thrusting forward once again, he pushed his cloaca to hers in a wet and passionate kiss.
"HOOOOOOO!!" He cried out as the dam burst and he shot his seed out from his canal and into hers. Both their cries of ecstasy rang through the treetops as they collapsed into a characteristically non-sweaty heap.
Owlowiscious slid down off of her back. It being well into late morning by now, his exertions soon caught up to him and he quickly drifted into a restful sleep. A white wing extended itself over his shoulder.

Epilogue
Owlowiscious and Elizabeak started a happy life together in their secret love nest. Though Elizabeak continued her strange dietary habit of refusing to eat mice, Owlowiscious brought her a steady supply of berries and seeds, along with the occasional insect. Always mindful to accommodate her disability, he would fly her between the ground and the nest for water and the occasional bit of exercise.
They were soon blessed with many eggs, but try as they might, no children would come to them. One day, while they were strolling about the ground, the sound of wet cracking reached their ears. They returned to find a strange bird, similar to the wooden ones found in clocks, pushing the eggs out of their nest. Owlowiscious quickly chased it away, and though they grieved at the surrounding carnage of splattered yolks. One precious, if oddly shaped, egg survived.
This one surviving eggs eventually hatched, providing them with the son they had always wanted. He was a little odd looking, but they raised him with love, and became a happy family. Twilight Sparkle never did figure out why Owlowiscious had mysteriously disappeared. Fluttershy managed to get the gist of the situation from her animal friends, but was too embarrassed to ever bring it up. She wasn't quite sure of the proper way to say "your owl is fucking my chicken".
Author's Note
So I've been running my roommates through ponies, and we get to StareMaster. We find out one of Fluttershy's chickens is named Elizabeak, and one of them declares her the best character ever, and insists I write a fanfic about her. And not just that, a steamy, graphic, sex fic. With romance of course. I jokingly agree, and next thing I know I'm online, researching the reproductive habits of owls and chickens, and learning about how most birds don't have penises.
So here it is, my first foray into the world of clop (flap?) fiction. I know most of you are probably thinking "Why are you wasting my time with this crap instead of giving me a proper chapter of Heart of Loyalty?" Sorry about that. I'll get right on it. This was just a drawn out favor for a friend.
