It was a sunny day in Ponyville, and everypony was doing their daily tasks. It was business as usual at Sugar Cube Corner.
"That will be two bits please!" The merry voice of Pinkie Pie rang through the shop. As usual she was beaming from ear to ear as she was serving the customers. Mr. Cake was in the back making sure the orders were taken care of, and Mrs Cake went backwards and forwards, stacking sweet jars on the shelves and occasionally checking on the children. When Pinkie was working at the cashier she saw a face in the window of the shop. It was one of her friends, Twilight Sparkle. Pinkie's smile grew even bigger as the purple pony entered the shop. Twilight expected Pinkie Pie to come rushing to the door to greet her, but she kept selling the customers the baked goods. Twilight patiently waited till she was first in line.
"Hey Pinkie!"
"Hi Twilight? How is my best-best-bestie?"
"Fine, thanks! You must be working hard!"
"Sure am!" the pink pony paused. "Sorry I couldn't greet ya at the door. Gotta serve the customers, you know?"
"You're really working well, Pinkie! Keep at it! Oh, and by the way, could I get a blueberry muffin please?"
"Sold!
A couple of hours later, it was finally closing time. Pinkie trotted through to the Staff Room. Mr and Mrs Cake were both standing together. They looked like they were waiting for her.
"Pinkie, there's something we want to discuss with you." .Mrs Cake started.
"Sure, what's happening?"
"We've seen you working fantastically..."
"And?"
This time it was Mr. Cake who spoke. "We were thinking of going on holiday, just for a little break."
"We want you to run the shop while we're gone,"
