‘Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two alicorn princesses of the same blood, of which each had a crucial mission to accomplish every day: The first, the older one, used her unicorn powers to raise the sun every day, while the second, the younger one, did the same for the moon every night. With that circle, these two princesses managed to keep balance in their world for their equalitarian pony subjects. One day eventually that balance suddenly got destroyed, due to the jealousy of the younger one, because everypony slept during her night, instead of embracing it, like they did with daytime. As a result, the younger princess refused to lower the moon and with that the night ever again until they would love it as day. No words of the older one could soften the other’s heart and with that she was forced to use the only thing that could help her against her wicked relative: The Elements of Permanent Peace. With the power of the elements, the older one was able to stand against her relative and in the end she was able to overthrow her and banish her into the moon itself. As the only princess that was left, the older one declared herself as empress and with that she also made it her duty to raise the moon, as well as the sun. With that the empress has maintained peace and balance in all of Equestria ever since….’

“Hm… ‘The Elements of Permanent Peace’… strange name, but it sounds awfully familiar… hm…”

With these words, the mint-green colored unicorn with her blond pigtails on each side and her unnaturally bushy eyebrows, looked up from her book into the sky, captured in her thoughts. Her thinking nonetheless got interrupted in the very same moment as her eyes realized the actual stand of the sun.

“Oh goodness, it’s that late already!? If I don’t hurry now, I might miss out tea time! I can’t let that happen!”

With this declaration, the mare puts the book, which she was just reading seconds ago, in her side bag and began to run as fast as she could towards home, but around in the middle of the way she bumped into three ponies she knows flighty, which greeted her cheerfully.

“Hey England how are you? We wanted to ask you if…” “Excuse me, but I can’t waste my time right now, time flies, good day!”

While saying these words, the unicorn just passes by and lets the other three confused where they stand.

“Gosh, why in the name of China is she so strange all the time…?” “Maybe a new Dashie Potter book or so came out…” “Whatever let us just go, maybe we find somepony else…”

The three ponies also go away now, to mind their own business and after a while of running and walking upstairs, England finally reaches her tower home and opens the double door with a swing.

“Splendid, I arrived just in time! Shell, how is the tea doing? …Shell! Oh, there you are, what are you doing down there?”

She looks down on the ground, where a little blue dragon, with red spikes on back and head, lies, while holding the named dizzy.

“Erm… nothing I guess, just seems like SOMETHING bumped into me…” “Oh, I see, well, then get up now again and take care of the tea you know that I don’t like to get in delay with my own daily routine…”

With that said, the unicorn walks humming away. The left alone dragon just sighs, stands up and looks at the rests of the present he got for his friend.

“Well, seems like that WAS a gift for Moondancer, now I have to get another one… at least she could say that she is sorry, but therefore she would first need to realize, that she actually did something wrong…”

He sighed again, put the former present with a sad face aside and makes his way into the kitchen. After some time he leaves it again while holding a tablet, filled with two cups of tea and a load of biscuits. Packed like that he enters the library.

“Well, the tea is now done, Iggy… Iggy..? What are you doing up there..?”

While putting down the tablet on the nearest table, he looks up to the unicorn, which is busy with searching through the higher rows of the shelves.

“Oh, that’s great to hear, I’m there in a second, just need to find something…” “Which is…?” “Oh, I’m not quite sure, I have to say… I was just reading an old pony’s tale and wanted to check on something… I think that it stands in ‘Predictions and Prophecies’. Could you be so nice and help me find it? I would really appreciate that.” “Yeah sure it will take just a second.”

With that said the little dragon climbs on one of the ladders and begins searching himself.

“Hm… nothing there either… have you found anything yet, Iggy?” “Not yet… oh, these biscuits fit perfectly with the tea, Shell, where did you buy them?” “Huh?”

The dragon looks to the green pony, which is now sitting at the table while watching him.

“Hey, why are you just sitting there? I thought you need that book so urgent?” “Sure, but I can’t take the risk of letting the tea get cold either. So hurry up and find it please, so you can drink yours in time too!” “I can’t believe her, she must be kidding, that’s so… oh, I’ve found it! It’s he…”

Before he could talk further, the book, together with him, gets quickly transported to England through her magic and as the book stops, he crashes into the ground, right before her feet.

“Oh, how wonderful Shell, thank you very much. Now you can take a little break and enjoy your tea time while I do some research…”

Again humming, the unicorn walks away, again leaving the smaller one behind, who just mumbles something unintelligible. He still does willingly what she told him to do anyway, but already after a few sips, England interrupts him again.

“Quick Shell, find me ‘The Mare in the Moon’… ah, forget it, I know where that one is…”

Quickly the unicorn runs upstairs and begins searching there.

“ ‘The Mare in the Moon’..? Isn’t that just some old pony tale..?” “I thought so too, but maybe there is something about it… ah, there it is! ‘The Mare in the Moon’... ‘The Mare in the Moon, an old myth about a powerful pony that wanted to rule about all of Equestria, but which was finally defeated through ‘The Elements of Permanent Peace’…’ There, I knew I heard of them before! ‘…and imprisoned in the moon. It is said that in the longest day of the 1000st year, the stars will be aiding her escape and after that, she will bring eternal darkness over all of Equestria.’ Oh goodness, Shell, do you know what that means!?” “…erm…” “Wrong!” “Waah…!!”

Due to the sudden appearance of the pony besides him, the dragon falls back, together with the rest of the tea.

“Cut that out Shell and clean that mess up, but first take a note, we have no time to lose!” “Yeah, yeah, just a second, ok, please..?”

While cleaning himself angrily mumbling up, the baby dragon gets a piece of parchment and a quill and waits for the pony to dictate.

“My dearest highness and teacher, I’m sorry to interrupt you in your daily royal business, but it’s my duty to let you know that, during my studies of the old pony magic, I’ve found out, that we are on the brink of a catastrophe!” “Erm…” “What is it Shell!?” “Well, that brink…” “You can’t write that!? For China’s sake… then write edge instead!” “…” “…” “…” “... That something really, really bad is about to happen!” “Got it!” “You see, your highness, the mythical pony in the tale is in fact Nightmare Moon and soon she will be free and bring eternal Darkness over all of Equestria, if we don’t do anything against it! Something must be done immediately! I hope to hear from you soon and maybe we should do something together sometimes soon again, you know, it’s been a while since last time. Anyway, greetings and kisses your faithful student England.” “Done!” “Great, then send it out now!” “You mean ‘now’ in now now?” “Of course, what other now would there be!?” “Just saying, the princess is rather busy right now because of the celebration on the day after tomorrow and..” “That’s what I’m talking about! The day of the Summer Sun celebration is the day on which Nightmare Moon will break free, the princess must know right away about it!” “Ok, ok, sheesh… if you insist…”

The dragon coils the parchment up, takes a deep breath and with the ejection of a little red fire blast, the letter vanishes.

“There, it’s gone, happy now?” “Of course I am, now the princess can do something about this, thanks to my studies.” “I wouldn’t be so sure about that one.” “Oh Shell, what are you talking about? I made very clear what is going on and since I’m her student, the princess never doubted me, so there is no way she could refuse to do something.”

As she ends, the blue dragon suddenly burps and another letter appears. He takes and opens it and begins to read it.

“There, you see? I knew she would want to do something about it immediately.” “Well… I don’t think so.” “What do you mean!?” “ ‘My dearest faithful student, you know that I trust you in most every matter nearly blindly…’ “ “Well, that sounds everything but bad, so what…” “ ‘…but in this case I really have to say, that you’re just talking a big bunch of nonsense.’ “ “What the hay..!?”

-The next day

“ ‘You really should get out of your library more often, you are really getting strange from time to time you know? That’s why I decided to make you the supervisor of this year’s Summer Sun celebration in Ponyville. It will surely help you to get more social with other ponies, besides me. Not that you think, that I don’t like spend my time with you or so, but each of us should really see other ponies too to emotionally grow… and stuff. So to recall it, you have two objectives: Make sure that the preparations run smooth and for Equestria’s sake finally make some friends, please! Good luck, your princess China.’ “ “Can you tell me, why you had to read it again? That’s the fifth time already since yesterday!” “I’m sorry, I just wanted to make sure, that you really don’t forget, what you have to do.” “I see… if I wouldn’t know better, I might believe, that you have fun torturing me with this thing.” “Oh no, never, how COULD I..?” “…sigh… well it wouldn’t matter anyway I guess… I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere, Nightmare Moon will bring eternal darkness over us all, the princess doesn’t want me around her anymore and the worst of all, my daily routine is now totally screwed and I have to come up with a new one now…” “Oh Iggy, don’t be so grim, at least you got the allowance to stay in the village’s library! That’s a plus, right?”

The green pony, which was watching the quickly changing ground below them, as they fly with a golden wagon, flown by two armored pegasi, over the scenery towards their destination, now looks up and an impish grin hushes on her face.

“Actually yes, I AM happy! I will just get over the whole preparation stuff as quickly as possible and then I will find everything that I need, to prove that I’m right!” “But what about making friends then..?” “Please Shell, don’t make me laugh! If you have a lot of good books to read and a princess to care about, what do you need friends for then anyway? You will see I will make sure that everything will go as I imagine it and then Equestria will be safe and the princess will have to apologize to me for disbelieving me! I mean seriously how could she think that making friends would help me with anything whatsoever!? Am I right? …Right..?”
